Trade Winds: Book Two of the Hawaiians Trilogy

Rate this book
Sequel to the popular The Hawaiians, by Steve Stelle, the story of Dr. William Goode in 1830's Hawaii continues. Malaria has come to the island and the new miracle drug, quinine, is only available in revolution torn Peru. Runaway slave, Paris Carter, has been spotted in Honolulu and a questionable southern gentleman is intent on collecting a reward. From the Galapagos Islands to the jungles of Peru, across the Old Santa Fe Trail, and through the Texas territories to a last stand at a well known Texas mission, continue with the adventures of the unique array of characters that author, Steve Stelle, is known for. Rich in details of history, blended with fast paced action, peppered with philosophy, and a smorgasbord of food for thought, this book will keep you thinking long after you finish reading. Join the early surfers of Waikiki and their growing families and fortune for a nonstop, historical roller coaster ride. From whalers to Comancheros, from the early concepts of Darwin's origins of the species, to the secrets of Simon Bolivar's legacy, and what really happened to the famous congressman from Tennessee. This is the best serving of historical aloha you can find.

Great Story Line

I love, love this story and will go on to the next book. The characters are so compelling, I can't wait to find what's next. The transition from one scenario to the next was somewhat jarring and would benefit at least from capital letters in the chapter titles. Poor use of first person pronouns stopped the illusion as did some errors in need of proof reading.

Loved it except many type O’s ... the book should of been read to correct these before publishing! It shows pride in literature. Donna starting book three!

Loved the book. What I did not like was the many type O’s in the book. It shows lack of pride. Should of been read and correction s made before published. Starting book three. Donna

I am enjoying this book while in Hawaii

Great read while on the island to understand some of it’s history and how different people came here. A good historical novel.

Another great story marred by a multitude of misspellings and an incomprehensible absence of either proof reading or editing. Such a pity….

I cannot wait until the third book in the trilogy to learn what happens to all those wonderful, well developed, and dear characters!
