He isn’t a hero. He isn’t a savior.
He’s the last ghost left standing between Harlem and hell.

Harlem, 1936. The jazz is hot, the streets are mean, and something moves through fog and shadow. They call him the Midnight Phantom—a cursed vigilante armed with a deadly arsenal and a nightmare motorcycle that roars through the night.

But in a city where gangsters cut deals with demons, innocence doesn’t last till dawn. A woman marked for death. A child drawn into the dark. A sorceress who wants his soul.

Every fight feeds the curse that drives the Midnight Phantom. Every life he saves costs another. And in a city drowning in sin and smoke, the line between man and monster is fading fast...

This modern pulp action graphic novel collection will delight comic fans who hunger for new classics.

About the author

Jemir Robert Johnson

Jemir Johnson is a hardened thief. (Well, not really.) But whenever he can steal a free moment, he spends it devouring other writers' fantasy, drama, humor, and crime fiction, then returns to the scene of the crime to write some of his own.

A graduate of Iona College with a B.A. in English, Jemir has contributed to crime and science-fantasy anthologies including Double Danger Tales, Legacy: Uprising, Foreshadow, and Foreshadow: Full Speed. He also wrote the hip-hop noir graphic novel collections 5 Shots and Blind Corners, which follow the case files of Jay Nova, a mind-reading private eye who, strictly off the books, helps desperate people settle "situations" they can't (or won't) take to the law. With Jay, Jemir set out to put a strong African-American woman at the center of urban crime drama, then hit the genre with a few sci-fi twists it never saw coming.

His latest, Midnight Phantom, takes readers to Harlem in 1936, where a cursed vigilante hunts gangsters and things far worse than gangsters through the dead of night. Little Miss Strange: Curse of the Chameleon God, Dark Edge Magazine, and more projects are on the way.

Jemir credits (and occasionally blames) a lifelong love of comic books and crime fiction for his life as a writer and graphic novelist. He has no plans to go straight.
