My life has been completely turned around with the help of my boyfriend and best friend, Tucker.
My depression is under control.
I’m not having nightmares or flashbacks anymore.
My sister is having a baby.
Life with Tucker is great…
Or is it? Everything seems to be going so well, almost too well.
You know how people say that the best things in life are worth fighting for? Well, I believe that with my whole heart. But how do you fight for something when it gets ripped away from you? Just…torn right out of your hands, leaving you with nothing. You would think that losing my wife was the worst thing that could happen to me.
Warning: This book is for mature audiences only. Adult content and explicit M/M sex scenes. This is also a cliffhanger, so be prepared!
Andria Large is a traditionally published and self-published contemporary romance author. She doesn’t always follow the rules, so you will find both M/F and M/M books mixed into some of her series.
Henry from the Beck Brothers Series was the first book she self-published. Not expecting anything to really come of it, she was shocked to find the book caught wind and readers were asking for more. Writing books was not something she had set out to do. She wrote stories for herself, as a hobby. Now that it has become her career, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Andria grew up in Philadelphia, but now lives in New Jersey with her two daughters and wonderfully supportive husband, who frequently accompanies her at signings. The events that she attends every year are one of her favorite things about being an author. She loves meeting and conversing with her readers, but also enjoys finding new ones.
Andria considers herself open and friendly, so feel free to send her a message if you have a question or just want to chat.
I am going to be vague about this and I am sorry, but I just can't spoil anything for you.
If At War was the story of Dennis' heartbreaking struggles, then War Torn is Tucker's.
The mild cliffhanger of At War left us with the burning question: Will Tucker get the surgery that could restore his hearing? And when War Torn opens, we continue along this line following Tucker through surgery, PTSD episodes, an accident for Dennis, family trauma, tragedy and drama and finally a cliffhanger so bad I was in tears. Angry tears. Bitter, piss-filled tears. Yes, I was pissing out of my eyes, I was that pissed.
Again, Duke was there being awesome and a little bit tragic, too. His sexuality is sort of in question (at least for me) and we all want to know if he will find his Ms. Wonderful or Mr. Wonderful. Whatever, whoever, he deserves to have his Happily Ever After. His story will be book 2.5 and I don't really want to have his story before Dennis and Tucker's is resolved, but I won't say "no" to more Duke. No way. Bring it, Ms. Large.
There were a few points in the story where I felt that the author was just relaying events and not delving into the emotion of the characters. And, like with the first book, I thought that there were a few eye-rolling, cliched moments with regard to Tucker's mother. But...that ending?! Holy S#!t. This is why cliffies are the devil's work. I'm not going to sleep tonight for wondering when I will get to know how it all ends. Wondering if things will be okay. I just want them to be okay! Gah!
Nope. Sorry, but nope. I don't know where authors get the idea that turning one of the beloved MC's into an absolute bastard will entice the readers to come back for me. And the fucking cliffhanger ending? Fuck that.
This was another outstanding story about Tucker and Dennis. I love these two strong and loving men. I was also happy to see so much of Duke in this story. He looks like he also has a terrific story to tell. Looking forward to that in the future. This story about Tucker and Dennis was amazing, emotional and heartbreaking. It was so sad when Tucker suffered his loss. Then the ending.....makes me pray that you are writing!!! I love this trilogy so far. Looking forward to the next books regarding these wonderful characters. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!
Why, why, oh why..? Ok, I know about the cliffhanger. My goodness, but it still sucks.
We got Duke's POV too in here. He's really funny. And yes, we're going to get Duke's story as a side story in this series. I just hope it would be M/M. Otherwise, I don't know if I'm going to read it.
I must begin by saying that I truly love this genre! This is book two in this series and I am falling in love with Tucker and Dennis! This tale follows them on their beautiful but tragic journey together. It has them evolving from friends to lovers and diving into unchartered waters. These two amazing men never thought that they would end up here. They soon begin to revel themselves to friends and family and await the backlash from them. I was touched by the loving but humorous way that Duke dealt with this news. I know that this will be a difficult road for these two damaged souls to navigate but hopefully they can do it together. The loving support of their families is touching. Andria has certainly done another amazing job on their story that will certainly keeping you wanting more. They will have your heart breaking but you will need to keep moving forward to see where they will go! I was gifted this book for an honest review! ~~Michele McMullen~~
I absolutely love this series! I never knew how much an m/m romance would touch me. I have the worst book hangover right now and need this next book out already! I definitely just found my new favorite author ❤️
I just love Dennis and Tucker. I loved how they found each other and went from being best friends to lovers. I could not wait to see how things would work out for the two of them. War Torn is the second installment in this series and Oh My God did Andria Large put me through the ringer with this one. She killed me in a way I was not expecting and left me wondering how she will manage to put my heart back together again.
I won't say much about this story because I want you to experience the ups and downs with this couple for yourself. Tucker and Dennis were best friends who were both suffering from PTSD from being at war. But they soon found comfort in each other in a way that neither one of them ever expected. They have both considered themselves to be heterosexual men until their feelings for each became more than that of a friend. Their attraction and love towards each other grew into this beautiful and amazing relationship that they now have. They are not only best friends but lovers as well and they could not be more perfect for each other.
This installment is about the ups and downs of their relationship. They have obstacles that they both have to face and need to be able to face them together. At times you are not sure how this story will go and I found myself reading as fast as I could wondering what would happen next. Things aren't easy for them. They have been through so much, both separately and together. But as long as they have each other it should all work out? Right?
I loved he emotions that this book brought out in me. I can't tell you how much I love Denny and Tucker. Their love is just so deep and so real. I feel their connection, their hurt and pain as well as their happiness. They are each other's life and exactly what they needed. But sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you find that your love is being tested. And you have to decide if your love is strong enough to survive it all. Their love and relationship is put to the test and you will find yourself hoping that love will prevail in the end. Because they deserve the happiness more than anyone.
I loved everything about this book but there is one person in particular that plays such an important role in Denny and Tucker's life and that is Duke. He and tucker have been friends but as Dennis and Duke spend more time together they begin to confide in each other and become close friends as well. I loved Duke and hope that he gets his own book
Another amazing job by Ms. Large. I've said it before and I will say it again, Andria Large has this amazing ability to write a MM story that just captures you from the start. Not only is she writing one male point of view but two and the way she makes you feel with these characters, and fall in love with them just proves what an amazing writer she really is. She knows how to give us a romance between two men that is not only HOT but emotional. This is a beautiful series and I am patiently waiting for the third book. Ok that's a lie I'm really not being that patient because I need the final installment now! I need to know how this will all work out. I need more of Denny and Tucker! Great Job!!
*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*
I love Dennis, Tucker, and Duke!
Dennis had such a difficult time with depression is the first book, At War, but now that he has Tucker he seems so much better. He's sweet, caring, and an overall great guy. He tries the best he can to be supportive of Tucker and the way he wants things, even if it does pain him to do so.
Tucker will learn that nothing comes easy. He'll get one thing back, but then it'll become tainted with flashbacks. He'll lose someone close to him and then be forced to choose between the others he loves. Nothing is fair and my heart hurts for him, but the way he goes about dealing with things made me want to slap some sense into him.
Duke was Tucker's best friend, but after meeting Dennis he's also became a very close friend, so when Dennis and Tucker are at odds Duke will have to side with what he thinks is right, which is not always the easiest thing to do. Especially when he's fighting his own battles. After his divorce he's falling down into depression hell and thankfully he has Dennis and Tucker to help keep him out of it. He definitely needs to find a little happiness...he deserves it.
"Problem? Why would I have a problem? I'm all fucking unicorns and rainbows here, my man."
War Torn is filled with heartbreak, tragedy, humor, and some downright hot and dirty sex. I'm looking forward to reading the next book because I really want to know how their story ends. They need to find their happily ever after.
Beware this is only book two of a trilogy, so yes there is a cliffhanger ending.
My Favorite Laughable Moments: Duke loves that Tucker and Dennis are happy, but he still can't tone down the gay jokes. It's just the way he is and sometimes it's just so funny the stuff that comes out of his mouth.
"They're totally together, aren't they?" she asks, a slight smile curling one side of her mouth.
"Totes." I chuckle.
She snorts and shakes her head. "How did that happen?"
I shrug. "No idea, really."
"Are you...?" she asks, eyebrow raised.
I give her an incredulous look. "What? With them two? Fuck no! I'm as straight as they come."

Dennis life seems it has taken a turned for the better. He's relationship with Tucker is going better than ever and their love is growing by the minute. This is what he needed to change his life never in a million years did he ever imagined loving again. But he is. But not always happiness stays around.
Tucker and Dennis love will be put to a test, and that will determined the outcome to their happiness, but how strong is their relationship to withstand this difficult journey? Will they survive this?
WOW!!! I did not see this coming. Dennis and Tucker will take you to a wild ride that will be emotional, so just hold on and ride it out.
The love and passion this two have for each other is so palpable it makes you so hot, you will need a fan next to you and a cold beverage. You will find this incredible story well written and easy to follow.
As always is in your best interest to read At War book one of the trilogy in order to follow their story.
Warning: This book is for mature audiences only. Adult content and explicit M/M sex scenes. This is also a cliffhanger, so be prepared!
Wow! What a rollercoaster of a book, I am so glad I waited until At Peace was released before starting this book, as I wouldn't have been able to handle the wait between the two stories, especially with how this one ends!!! :-)
For me this trilogy has just got better and better, and the story itself although full of highs and lows is really enjoyable, and believable too. Andria Large has a real knack for making these types of stories very realistic and believable. The characters themselves are all very likable, even Tucker's family who I wanted to hate by the end of the story, and I can't wait to dive into At Peace and find out what happens next.
As for this story I would happily recommend it to others as it really is a wonderful read.
Another great book by Andria... My only issue is I currently am not a fan of Tucker! Throughout the book Dennis and Tucker navigate the world of their new relationship and their never ending stubbornness. They each know what they want or seem to know but then life jumps in the way and each is faced with more questions it seems then answers. Their friend Duke is there throughout as well and was a nice breathe of fresh air with his worth banter and sarcasm. The ending wrecked me though I had a feeling it was coming it doesn't make me like it any more or accept it. hopefully book three won't take too long!
Tucker and Dennis' love and relationship goes through the ringer in this book.
Their love is put to the test with Tucker's surgery and the his mother's illness. Both men are bound and determined to stay the course. But is love enough to keep them together?
More detailed review will come after release... Too much to say without spoiling it all. But you really see the two men grow and how much they love each other. This does end in a cliff hanger again, so you know that something is going to go amiss.
OMG... I know why it's called Torn, Holy Crap!! I'm gutted here in a big snotting & bawling mess.. I was excited to get this book b/c I loved the 1st one & it ended in a cliffhanger & I wanted to see where Dennis& Tucker's story went next. So good but yet another big cliffhanger, Grrrrrrr... I love the boys even though they needed a knock or two, lol in this story. They have a beautiful relationship & it needs to stay that way!!! Beautifully written even though heartbreaking!! I need next book ASAP please?! ;)
If you read the first one and enjoyed it, then why are you hesitating ? Read this one, but keep the Kleenex handy. There is a cliff hanger and I am so thankful that I did not start this series until all were out. I am finishing one and immediately starting the next. Only way.
I still love these two but wanted to shake some sense into Tucker. Oh and castrate his father. (Killing him would be to lenient.) The boys still love each other but there are problems. As Dennis says: He's my forever. I can't lose him. I just can't.
OMG OMG I am so dying right now. Just finished reading this book and I feel like I want to slap someone....lol...
Ok, so continuing from book 1 I really like Dennis and Tucker, I felt like I am apart of their relationship. In this book I liked the fact that we are able to see and get to know Duke - -who I must I say I also love and I am pulling that he will find his happy ending. I really enjoyed reading this installment and did not stop until I was finished. Great follow up.
NOW I MUST WAIT PATIENTLY for the next installment. Please hurry!
Overall book rating 4 Stars Audio book: n/a Book Cover: 4 Stars MC1: Dennis Parrish - Ex Marine now Bodyguard MC2: Tucker - Ex Marine now in IT
The story continue where Tucker gets his surgery done to try to get his hearing back. I like Tucker I really do but sometimes I wanted to hit him upside the head. In this book we get to know Duke a bit better and he is just a breath of fresh air.
There's a lot going on in this book and my heart just broke for Dennis
This trilogy is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful thus far. I love love love Andria Large's romantic/erotic fiction, but her M/M stories are some of the best I've read in the last couple years. Writing is top notch, characters are so loveable and relatable. And the sex is just beyond HOT, and a necessary component to the evolving love story. 5/5 stars! Gorgeous love story.
This sequel didn't live up to the promise of the first book in the War Trilogy. It didn't feel like the plot was as complex or thought out. Both MC go through a life altering change and are trying to adjust. One character just loses his himself and deserves to lose Dennis as well. If he cannot put a caring person whom he loves first then it shows his lack of courage and compassion. A very selfish decision on his part.

I am going to rip my hairs out of my head waiting for book three. I hate cliffhanger's!!! I am so hurt and mad at Tucker and I really need book three to redeem him in my heart. I don't want to give anything away but Tucker and Dennis are deeply and devastatingly in love...Even Duke feels it...it's so intense...I just can't understand stand how Tucker could be so clueless...his mom even gave her blessings...I am so frustrated!!!
Ok, so I loved this as much as the first book - Tucker and Dennis are just my favourite characters! However, I did not realise this book was a cliffhanger too - I think I just sat and stared at my kindle aghast for a good 5 minutes after reaching the end! Whilst I am very happy that I will get to read another book about Tucker & Dennis, I really really need to know what happens next!
Hope it comes out soon. Also looking forward to reading Duke's book.
I knew this would happen. I tried to not read this one yet hoping to wait until the final book was available. After the first 'cliffhanger' I was hoping it wouldn't be that major of one, but NOOOOOOO.
This storey is a bit more about Tucker and his issues, with a bit of Duke thrown in. It is nice to see the tables turned a bit and have Dennis be the strong one, although Tucker needs to be a bit sneaky to help Dennis out a bit too.
Another astonishing work of art by Andria Large. Beautifully written, Andria just keeps getting better and better!
The love story these beautiful boys share will have you cheering them on from the very beginning! Major cliffhanger ending, what on earth are we all going to do while we wait to find out what happens?
I love this series! I am always a sucker for a wounded soldier story and this hit the spot perfectly. My only complaint is that I feel that these two books and the upcoming third book in the trilogy should be combined into one book. The climaxes at the end of each book so far have killed me with desire for the next.
