The long-awaited, explosive memoir by former senior intelligence official Jay Stratton, the central figure in the U.S. Government's modern investigation of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) and non-human intelligent life.
For over 16 years, Stratton investigated UAP and non-human intelligent life on behalf of the federal government. While serving at the Defense Intelligence Agency, Stratton learned of UAP incursions over nuclear weapon sites, leading him to co-found the Advanced Aerospace Weapons Application Program (AAWSAP), the first official U.S. Government program to investigate UAP since the closure of the Air Force's Project Blue Book. Operating in the shadows of the intelligence community, Stratton discovered an 80-year coverup of the existence of non-human intelligent life and fought back against powerful gatekeepers who have hid the truth from the public, Congress, and even Presidents. While risking everything in pursuit of the truth, he created and led the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF), the first whole-of-government investigation of UAP, forcing the nation to confront the unknown. Now, Stratton breaks his silence to provide a startling first-hand account of the shocking discoveries, encounters, challenges, and behind-the-scenes revelations that profoundly altered his understanding of humanity's place in the universe and took a disturbing toll on him and his family.
A bombshell account and a definitive memoir that reads like a political thriller, Out of the Shadows is a high-stakes journey into the deepest and most significant mystery in human history.
I was pretty hyped on this given Jay's position and relative silence through all public conversations regarding the topic. He's the guy all the other guys refer to as having first-hand knowledge.
Unfortunately, he loses a lot of credibility for me with this book. No new information, more of the same from the likes of Elizondo, etc.
Jay spends far too much time talking about Skinwalker Ranch, shadow people, 9/11 official narrative propaganda, and literally plugging the film Age of Disclosure "available now on Prime".
Mostly just a history and timeline of AAWSAP, AATIP, UAPTF, and KONA BLUE. Most of which has already been pieced together by folks like UAP Gerb and Jesse Michels years ago.
Self-aggrandizing same-old-same-old UAP "disclosure" slop. I expected better from Jay Stratton.
I've known this since l was 16 years old, after experimenting with a Quija Board with my favorite Aunt Carol Lee in the summer of 1963 or 64. She was visiting our farm, in Greenwood Delaware, her former childhood home, and shared her story of seeing a cigar shaped UFO in 1950 and experiencing missing time. Her story was so compelling the late author of Missing Time, Bud Hopkins, interviewed her. We set the Quija Board up on the kitchen table and asked it where the nearest UFO landing base was. It immediately spelled out "Solomon Islands". Thinking this referred to the Solomon Islands in the Pacific, we forgot about it. Until a couple years later I was watching a tv show about UFOs and a guy was asked where he saw a UFO, to which he replied "the Solomon Islands in Virginia". I immediately pulled out an atlas and sure enough there it was right next to the Patuxsant Naval Experimental base in the Chesapeake Bay. Years later, as l traveled back and forth from Dover Delaware to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore with my son who had leukemia, l discovered - coincidentally - a radio station called the Zoe Heronimous show and she was talking about UFOs entering the Chesapeake Bay. My family has had experiences with orbs, abductions, and shadow people. Robert Hastings interviewed me after l read his book and contacted him to tell him my grandmother, also named Hastings, lived near his mother, who thought she was abducted, and there were orbs above my grandmother's house after her funeral. Sussex County Delaware is on the Atlantic Ocean.
This book covers everything. It is a very scary read because the implications boggle the mind.
I'm sure President Trump will probably announce "we are not alone" before he leaves office.
I live in NC not far from Chris Bledsoe. I was surprised he was not mentioned in the book because Jim Semivan (sp?) wrote the forward to his book UFO of God.
I recently watched the Joe Rogan interview of David Grush, where he says the alien greys and Reptilians are waging a war on earth!
What's next? Will the aliens land on the White House lawn?
I’m having a hard time coming up with a way to describe this book except to say “mind blown”. I look forward to reading the discussions that this book will elicit.
★★★★☆ 4/5 — A Pleasant Surprise and a Fascinating Personal Perspective
I was pleasantly surprised by Jay Stratton's book. What I particularly appreciated was the way he presents his experiences and the accounts involving himself and his family. Rather than simply discussing the UFO phenomenon from a distant or purely investigative perspective, he brings a deeply personal dimension to the subject, making the narrative both engaging and thought-provoking.
As I read, I found myself recognising many similarities between his family's experiences and some of my own. There were moments when his descriptions felt remarkably familiar, reminding me just how complex, intimate, and sometimes unsettling these encounters can be.
I particularly enjoyed his straightforward approach to presenting these accounts, allowing readers to reflect on their possible meanings without losing sight of the human experiences behind them.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in UFOs, UAPs, consciousness, and the more mysterious aspects of the phenomenon.
As the author of "Beyond the Visitors", I also believe my own book would make an excellent companion read. While Stratton shares his personal experiences and investigations, Beyond the Visitors explores the interdimensional and ultraterrestrial hypotheses, the role of consciousness, and the fascinating connections between modern encounters, folklore, and ancient traditions.
Two different perspectives that, in my opinion, complement each other beautifully.
This is a memoir of a former government insider who was professionally involved in investigating UAPs for decades. Most of his professional roles seem to be verifiable as fact. As in who he worked for, what were his titles, meeting he held, and people he spoke to. What remains unverifiable is all of the actually interesting UAP/alien stuff, such as evidence of a crash retrieval program, communication with non-human beings, etc. I'd put my estimate at 95% chance that the UAP and alien contact aspects are not true. But if you read it as a work of fiction, this is a really compelling hard sci-fi bureaucracy thriller. It reminds me a lot of Authority by Jeff VanderMeer. In that book, a new director takes over a secret agency that manages an anomaly, and the horror is mostly institutional: inherited files, evasive staff, and a cover-up nobody understands.
In conclusion: This is either 1) a really good piece of performance-art-science-fiction blurring the line between a real person's memoir and fantasy or 2) the biggest story in human history. So either way it's worth checking out!
Compelling read outlining the history of the UAP Task Force and how it came up against the Legacy Program and battled it to get the truth out to the American people. Jay Stratton is a hero (along with many others)
Thanks to Jay for tireless pursuit in bringing the UAP issue to the forefront. Hopefully those who have battled disclosure over the years will have a change of heart. We can handle whatever the truth is.
This is just an amazing book…I couldn’t put it down! The author’s persistence to get out the truth even with all the adversities and roadblocks put in his way is so inspiring. What a patriot…What an American!
Well written expose on the control issues of governmental agencies. It is rather amazing that all of these UAP encounters are happening on a daily basis and essentially ignored by the commercial media platforms.
Jay’s book was excellent. Sharing his insights and experiences confirmed many of the observations that I have witnessed myself. Jay, thanks for your sacrifices and service. You affirmed my belief we aren’t alone. God Bless you and your family.
