Writing was good and it was intriguing but I kept waiting for spice. I DNF'd at 54% because there was absolutely zero spice..and it definitely had the potential.

No Spice
Indigo is catagorised as a slowburn enemies to lovers dark romance. Personally I felt it was more of a murder mystery with some romance attached.
After her sister is drowned in a lake, Briar approaches her sister's husband Caspian (who is suspected of being the killer) at a party. What she doesn't expect is for Caspian to offer her a job to finish restoring the painting her sister started. Briar soon discovers things are not as they seem and the painting she is restoring unlocks the secrets to why her sister was killed and who killed her. Meanwhile Caspian is laying a trap to finally strike those who have been controlling his life and Briar is his bait, the trouble is he is beggining to want her as more than bait.
I loved the plot of this book with the murder mystery and hidden secrets, it almost had a 'National Treasure' feel at times. I however hated the writing style and the lack of spice and honestly lack of romantic build was a complete letdown for me, I honestly wouldn't have catagorised this as a romance first and foremost but as a murder mystery instead. Basically it didn't deliver on the romance fronts that I was expecting but the plot was entertaining enough to keep me hooked. If you like a plot with mystery and intrigue then you may enjoy this, just don't have high hopes on the romance front or you may find it as lacking as I did.
