Another five stars from me for Sign of the Owl! 🦉💙
Brynn has not let me down at all here. Such a beautifully written sequel to Sign of the Raven! The writing, characters, world building and tension still goes strong here. This book kept me on edge just like book 1! If you haven't at least started reading Sign of the Raven or added it to your TBR as yet, I suggest that you do, because both books are to die for!
Extra points for absolutely beautiful covers!
These are not exactly for the faint of heart. If you love detail, dark themes, African mythology and European folklore, then this is for you!

Da ich Spoiler zum ersten Band "Sign of the Raven" vermeiden will, nur eine Kurzfassung:
Wir befinden uns in Gardyan, einer Welt, die durch einen Schleier von der Welt der Sterblichen getrennt ist. Hier herrschen mächtige, unsterbliche Matriarchen über ihre Stämme, die mit Tiergestalten verbunden sind. Wir lernen mehr über eine verhängnisvolle Schlacht, die Jahrzehnte her ist. Gleichzeitig versuchen dunkle Mächte an Kraft zu gewinnen. Und wir reisen weiter mit unseren Helden Azana, Radu, Bozani und Co., durch Zeiten und Welten, um sich der dunklen Seite entgegenzusetzen und Gardyan zu retten.
Review:
Brynn Danus Schreibstil schlug mich auch im zweiten Buch in seinen Bann. Ich finde es super schön, wie edel und fast lyrisch sie die Geschichte erzählt.
Besonders gefallen haben mir die Reisen der Protagonisten zwischen den Welten und Zeiten. Das war großartig und brachte viel Spannung in das Buch. Aber es gibt auch wieder Mordfälle, Verrat, Romantik, Schlachten 😊 alles mit dabei.
Und das Ende? Dürfen wir uns etwa auf einen dritten Teil freuen?
Einziger Kritikpunkt meinerseits: Die Figuren heißen teilweise sehr ähnlich, um ihre Zugehörigkeit zu einem bestimmten Stamm deutlich zu machen. Für mich war es manchmal schwer, sie bei der komplexen Handlung auseinander zu halten. Das Personenregister hat aber sehr geholfen.
Insgesamt ein tolles Fantasy Buch mit viel Gefühl und magischen Vibes.
