About the author

Katherine Quinn is a fantasy romance author and poet. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in psychology. She resides in Houston, Texas with her husband and children.

Her love for writing began after she read her first fantasy series, Song of the Lioness, by Tamora Pierce. After that, she wanted nothing more than to be a dagger-wielding heroine. Unfortunately, it’s frowned upon to give a child a dagger, so she settled on writing about daring adventures instead.

Coffee is her true love, and she believes anything can be fixed with Starbucks and dark humor.

I missed Wren and Damien so much and this book healed me❤️‍🩹

I said in my Stolen Midnights review that I wanted to know more about the Fates, and LOOK AT US NOW. WE’RE FINALLY GETTING THE LORE. WE CHEERED. Diving deeper into their history, their powers, and all the little secrets surrounding them was genuinely fascinating. But respectfully, I think the Fates need to mind their own business.

One thing I really love about sequels is getting to see the world expand, and this book delivered. It felt like the world suddenly got bigger and I was just lurking in the corner of every scene, watching everything unfold.

This one also felt deeper and more intricate than the first. The self-discovery journey, the deep social disparity issue, and the found family were so peak. There’s so much more happening beneath the fantasy, and I loved that.

And Damien’s character arc ATE. Getting to see this darker side of him and understanding how terrifyingly powerful he can be was so captivating. I love how his deadly power suits him perfectly. Love that for him.

Meanwhile, Wren is spending half the book trying to figure out what in the seven hells is happening, and girl, SAME😭 Like, yes, count me in because I wanna hear all the theories (and confusion) because she’s so #real.

Trust me when I tell you that Wren and Damien’s dynamic had me in a chokehold. The push and pull that already had me pulling out my hair in book one somehow got even better here. The tension was everything I could ask for. Insane upgrade, by the way. Love that for me.

And that ending almost had me losing all hope. I was mentally drafting my complaint letter because it was giving I think I’ve seen this film before, and I didn’t like the ending. But YAYYY, romance is not dead. Thank you, Katherine Quinn, we all say in unison.

I absolutely loved Stolen Midnights when I read it a few months ago and it left on a huge cliffhanger! So I was so excited to read this book! I will say, it took me a while to really dive back into the world and be invested in the storyline. However, the further along I read the more invested I got and I could not put it down once I hit the 50-ish% mark and I just devoured it after that.

I really enjoy the world that Katherine Quinn created however there were times when I felt like I was missing something. We learn a lot more about the Fates and their origin story expands exponentially and they are pivotal characters in this book.

It was tough reading Damien and Wren‘s relationship I the beginning because it was just frustrating. You wanted to find a way for them to get back to where they were and fight side-by-side together as a team. But things kept getting in the way and it was frustrating but it did help me keep reading, cause I wanted to see how their relationship would play out. This is not a bad thing, I just wanted them to be together and be happy! But I love that even with all the twists and turns in this book, they still felt a pull to each other that made them feel like soulmates. And my goodness it just gets better and better as you read on and especially as you get to the last quarter of the book you can just feel the emotions and you just vote for them so hard.

The twist and turns were very well done. I was expecting only a few of them, but not in the way that they panned out. So while I had inkling of who to trust in her, not to trust, I didn’t expect it to go the way it did. And the ending absolutely gutted me. I cried, and I felt everything. But I loved it all the same. My only wishes that we got just a little bit more at the very end and the last major scene with the Fates, as well as the very last scene just to wrap my head around it a little bit more, but I loved how it ended the way it did.

I decided to reread Stolen Midnights before diving into the second book to refresh my memory of Wren and Damien's journey. Their story is filled with a range of emotions, and I particularly appreciated Damien's character development.

Katherine's dedication in creating Wren and Damien shines through, making readers truly empathize with them throughout the story. The playful banter between Wren and Damien adds a fun touch to their interactions.

I also found the pacing enjoyable, with twists and turns that kept me eagerly turning the pages. Themes such as societal divides, amnesia, found family, and self-discovery are woven intricately into the plot. Each page left me wanting to read faster to uncover the next part of their journey, finishing with a beautifully satisfying ending.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the conclusion of this Romantasy duology. I appreciate Quinn’s writing style, particularly how she delves into the characters’ inner monologues, providing insight into their struggles and perspectives. In this particular book, Damien’s arc was particularly intriguing.

While the fate of the characters played a more significant role in this book, which propelled the story, it occasionally lost me a few times. However, I remained engaged throughout and thoroughly enjoyed Fated Dawn.

I was thrilled to read this sequel to Stolen Midnights. Katherine Quinn immediately pulled me back into this world and the story of Wren, Damien, the Fates, and all the rest! This is a story of conflict between social classes, writing your own destiny, found family, and so much adventure.
Fast paced, high adventure, steamy, heartbreaking, beautiful, fun 🤩.
