One volume, two steamy interconnected romances set in 1995 Seattle
Come to My Window Hazel Bell has lost everything — her job, her apartment, and her future in Seattle. Now her whole world is a thrift-store wardrobe, a family of houseplants, and a stranger in the opposite window who knows exactly what to say.
They exchange notes instead of names. Confessions instead of introductions. And somehow, the man she’s never met becomes the one person she can’t live without.
Gideon Sarkis knows the truth would end them before they ever begin.
He knows exactly who Hazel is. But she doesn't know him — or how badly he once hurt her. The more notes they write, the harder he falls. But with his obligations pressing in and her options disappearing, their time is running out.
Some windows are meant to be opened.
But some secrets can shatter everything.
Knockin' on Heaven's Door Ben Pedersen is a ghostwriter stuck crafting someone else’s thrillers when a misdelivered package introduces him to the mystery of unit 203 — and its elusive occupant, Heaven Lee.
Lee is a software engineer burning the candle at every possible end, helping build one of the first online bookstores. She doesn’t have time for nosy neighbors. She barely has time for sleep. But the guy upstairs keeps getting her mail, and he’s funny, patient, and her dog likes him more than the UPS guy. So maybe one coffee not-date won’t kill her.
The neighborly arrangement that follows becomes something neither of them planned. But Lee won’t admit what’s in the misdelivered packages, and Ben’s writer brain won’t let a mystery rest. When curiosity crosses a line, both must decide what matters more: protecting their secrets or fighting for what they’ve found.
Love Next Door is two warm, witty nostalgic love stories about the secrets we keep, the walls we build, and the people worth tearing them down for.
Melanie A. Smith is an award-winning, international best-selling author of steamy romance with smart, self-sufficient heroines and strong, swoony book boyfriends with hearts of gold. A former engineer turned stay-at-home mom and author, when Melanie is not lost in the world of books you’ll find her spending time with her husband and son, crafting, or cross-stitching.
Come To My Window (book one in the duet) is Hazel and Gideon’s story. Loved the concept of two people falling in love through notes they shared through their apartment windows. I loved Hazel, her clothes, and especially all her plant names (hello Keanu Leaves!) She’s the type of heroine I’d love to be friends with. And Gideon… seriously swoony! Eve Kasey knows how to write a hunky hero, for sure. I was just as excited as the characters when they would discover new notes in the windows and had to finish this story in one sitting.
Knockin On Heavens Door (book two) is Ben and Lee’s story. I loved these two together (and Lee’s loveable dog named Darcy.) Sweet Ben works from home as a writer and keeps getting Lee’s weekly packages delivered to his apartment. The two become friends as Ben volunteers to keep bringing her packages and walk her dog. Melanie Smith, I was not prepared for what was inside those boxes… I had to finish the book right then and there to find out how it all turned out! I love being surprised. The HEA is wonderful and exactly what I wanted.
If you’re in the mood for something nostalgic with amazing characters written by two authors who really know how to put a reader into the story setting, pick up Love Next Door. All of the 90s throwbacks with the clothes, the food (hello Hot Pockets), the cars, the record stores and thrift shops, and the MUSIC, were spot on. Can we go back again??
I went into this expecting a cute rom-com style book, but I got so much more emotional depth than I expected!
Both novellas have that nostalgic 90s atmosphere, but underneath you have characters trying to figure themselves out, build a life, pursue their dreams, and make space for the things that actually matter to them. And somehow, despite the stories being set in the 90s, so much of that felt incredibly relatable to current times.
Come to My Window Okay, this is really "You Belong With Me"-coded from Taylor Swift, but for adults. I really loved the way the relationship developed through their notes. There was something about that slow buildup that made me itch for them to get together. The attraction between the characters felt so palpable, even when they weren't physically together. And that, to me, shows the strength of the writing.
I also really enjoyed being in on the secret before the characters were. You'd think knowing what was coming might take away some of the fun, but for me it did the complete opposite. The anticipation for THAT moment was worth it.
The flow of the story was really good, although I do think the ending felt a tiny bit rushed. I wasn't ready to let them go, honestly.
Knockin' on Heaven's Door I think I actually enjoyed this one a little more than the first!
Here again, I loved the way the main characters got to know each other. Everything felt so effortless and natural, and their connection genuinely made sense to me. This was a slow burn in the best way, and I loved how quiet and heartwarming their relationship was.
There was also a little mystery surrounding both of their secrets, and I really enjoyed that difference from the first story. I could more or less guess Ben's secret, but Lee's? I was NOWHERE near it 😂
Shoutout to Darcy too, honestly. An unforgettable character that definitely highlighted Ben and Lee's connection! Overall, this one just clicked for me. It was cute, quiet, and genuinely heartwarming without ever feeling boring.
Conclusion Two strong 4⭐️ novellas that surprised me with how much emotional depth they had. I loved the characters, the chemistry, the slow-burn, and how relatable so many of the themes were despite the 90s setting.
One little side note: now that I've finished the whole book, I do wish the cover matched the actual vibe a little more. I completely understand the cassette concept, especially with the two sides representing the two stories, and I think that's a clever idea. But I don't think the cover really shows the emotion, romance, and character connection inside. It could potentially give the impression of something much more lighthearted or sitcom-like, when these stories have so much more depth than that. And I know, we all say "don't judge a book by its cover", but let's be honest... as readers, we absolutely do 🫣
*I received an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
This was such a cute read! I loved the diversity of culture and the representation of women in tech (and in the 90s!), plus the love stories are so beautiful. The first one is deliciously steamy and the second is suuuuper sweet with a side of spice. But both are interconnected about people who live in the same building. I would ADORE a sequel short story where these two couples go on a double date, maybe at Christmas? I want to keep living in this world and with these characters. Since it is two novellas, it was also really easy to read in two large chunks… and then re-read that window scene. 🪟🫦 IYKYK
*I was honored to receive an advanced reader copy of this book and loved it so much. This review is voluntary and all thoughts are my own.
Two stories set in the 90's are presented to us, which will no doubt bring some memories back for those who remember it well.
"Come to My Window” is Hazel Bell and Gideon Sarkis' story. Losing her job, Hazel is struggling. She communicates with a stranger through notes held up against the window; they don't exchange names. But Gideon actually knows her and doesn't choose to remind her that he was not a friend back then; in fact, she would end all communication right now if she found out what he did. But he wants a chance to connect now. Can he win her heart before he loses this opportunity and she leaves?
“Knockin' on Heaven's Door” is Lee and Ben's story. Ben Pedersen is a ghostwriter working on someone else’s thrillers. Inadvertently receiving a package not meant for him, he discovers the identity of the person in unit 203, Heaven Lee. Lee is a software engineer, currently helping to build an online bookstore. She stays busy and has no time for neighbors. Unfortunately, the guy upstairs keeps receiving her mail. Her dog Darcy also likes him. Will she agree to a no-dating coffee meet-up? Lee is secretive about the contents of her packages. And Ben is allured by mysteries. It sounds like they are meant for each other. Will they give in and reveal their secrets?
I really loved ‘Love Next Door’! A short story duology, both stories are set in Seattle in the 90s, and the setting and time are so present in both stories, it becomes its own character. As a pair, both stories tie in well with each other, I enjoyed how they connected. Here are my thoughts for each:
Come to My Window, Eve Kasey This story had what I love most about a good romance story, the ability to see myself, and feel inspired. I highlighted a bunch in this one, and I loved Hazel so much, especially her fighting to find herself despite facing adversity. The slow burn was incredible, and I now feel I should be investing in paper/markers.
Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, Melanie A. Smith Loved this bite size romance, both leads are easy to fall in love with, I really loved the references to early tech in Seattle, and how coffee and hole in the wall music venues felt so natural, and became an integral part of the story. The final twist/reveal was a lot of fun, and I loved my time with Lee and Ben.
Overall loved this duology, and I want more! Huge thank you to both authors for providing an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to PenPinery, the publisher, Eve Kasey and Melanie A. Smith for an advanced copy of Love Next Door: A '90s Anthem Duet.
Love Next Door: A '90s Anthem Duet is a cozy, romance duology set in the '90s. The setting and atmosphere evokes nostalgia, comfort, and warmth. Both stories reminded me of rom-coms in the best way!
Come to My Window follows two neighbors, Hazel and Gideon, who begin connecting by passing notes to each other, while Knockin' on Heaven's Door follows Lee and Ben, also neighbors, who have a meet-cute because of mis-delivered packages.
Overall, it was a fun read! It wasn't perfect for me, I wish the stories were more interconnected and the dual perspective felt a bit unnecessary, but I had a genuinely good time reading and would recommend for anyone looking for something short and sweet.
Oh my heart! This throwback 90s duet was amazing ☺️ they were so nostalgic from the music right down to how their homes are described with love stories I didn't want to end. I will always be a 90s/00s girl and these stories hit the spot just right. Both stories were different but absolutely fit so well together. I've always loved Melanie's books so this was just fantastic ☺️ my first by Eve Kasey and I really loved how she captivated the memories of time long ago. The fun and chemistry between "Fred" & Hazel was perfect ☺️
First, thank you to NetGalley, the authors, and the publisher for my ARC of this book!
I LOVED this. A short and sweet read, completely reminiscent of 90s rom-coms, laugh out loud funny, but still full of so much heart and depth, and definitely packs in the spice!
The ONLY thing I would have changed is that they’re dual perspective — I would have preferred just one POV in each, but it didn’t detract from the story. Also, I was hoping these would be a little bit more interconnected, but it still worked well to pair them together.
If you’re looking for something short, sweet, and spicy that still has the ability to make you emotional, with loveable characters and a great setting, definitely add this one to your TBR!
This one was really cute--think if Rear Window had a totally different vibe to it and it ended up that the watching your neighbor through the window part was a meet cute and not a possible witness to murder, and you've got this story. Add in the fact that he's also (kinda indirectly but also kinda absolutely directly?) responsible for her losing her job and her chance to stay in her dream city, and you've got stakes--everything ended up exactly the way I wanted to, which made up for all of the secondhand stress Gideon put me through with his refusal to tell Hazel who he was for so. Freaking. Long.
And OMG, I know this takes place in the 1990s, but that You Belong to Me-style communication via the notes in their windows? So stinking fun. <3
(Seriously, though, is *anyone* capable of reading that title without immediately starting to sing it in their head?)
Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A
Knocking on Heaven's Door
Another fun read! Though between these two books, I was craving Hot Pockets like no one's business by the end of the day--not Crystal Pepsi, though. Never Crystal Pepsi! ;)
Lee (aka Heaven Lee, though only her dad still calls her that) and Ben's romance had another adorable meet cute--this one involving mysterious mis-delivered packages and a dog named Darcy. The 90s vibes were even stronger with this one, especially with Lee's job (a startup trying to sell books online), and I loved the slow burn-ess of their relationship.
I'm not going to lie--though I totally guessed Ben's secret (loved it!), Lee's had me completely stumped...and now I can't get some of the images I Googled afterwards out of my head. Not a complaint, just a comment ;) I had seen some pictures before--one of the places my mom stayed on a solo vacation had some--but I was not prepared for the variety that is out there!
Like Lee, I was very disappointed in Ben when he did what he did--but he really did make up for it in the cutest way and they all (Darcy included, of course) got the HEA they deserved in the end.
(Somehow the song title was less of an earworm with this one--though my brain did say, That's the name of the book! in a very Pitch Meeting-esque kind of way when the phrase showed up in the book.)
Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A
Overall this was so much fun! Almost *too* aggressively 90s at times, but really cute romances with some highly entertaining scenes and hijinks along the way.
Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
My favorite decade was brought beautifully to life in this duet by two of my favorite romance writers, *sigh, so much nostalgia. This was creatively done, well-written (0f course, both Smith and Kasey have a wonderful cadence in their respective proses), witty, spicy and fun! It is a fast-read, two novellas, interconnected. Both stories were equally engaging and heartwarming, falling in love in the 90's. Gosh, the notes... if you love the 90's because you lived through it or because you're wondering what romance was like before the screens, you will LOVE this book.
“I have a date with a girl in a window.”
“I should act cool and take my time getting to the window, but all I can think about is her.”
“I think about you way more than I should.”
“She reads romance. She reads romance. And she’s passionate about it. And she asked me what I thought and braced for judgment, and I just sat there because I’m too chickenshit to tell her I’ve been reading the same genre for months.”
En conclusión, ambas historias resultan lecturas entretenidas y perfectas para quienes disfrutan las comedias románticas y la nostalgia que estás evocan.
I’ve never read a duology before and it was cute! I would have liked the stories to have more interactions. There was just a mentioning of one of the characters in the other story for both. They each have characters who live in the same building, but that is it. I thought they would be friends or something?
Both stories are super cute and leave you with the good feels.
Absolutely devoured this book! Love the concept, stepping back to the 90s was great, and I couldn’t put my kindle down. Fantastically cosy, cute, perfect to snuggle up with. Five stars!
📚✨ Such Cool Books to Read! ✨📚 I loved the ’90s—they were such good years! ❤️ Reading these two books brought back so many wonderful memories and all the feels.
💕 Come to My Window — Hazel & Gideon 💕 Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door — Lee & Ben
If you love a good story with that nostalgic ’90s vibe, y’all are going to love these books just as much as I did! 💖📖
Come to My Window: Hazel’s window in Seattle overlooks a swanky new loft development, and one window in particular has held her attention for months. She’s lost her job and has to leave her apartment and Seattle, but the shirtless guy across the alley gives her a little boost every day. Having been caught ogling him once too often, she writes him a note and holds it to the window, and there begins their daily correspondence. No names, just little chats and moral support. Gideon has been equally enamoured by the woman in the window across the alley and is thrilled to make the connection with her, but when he works out how he’s impacted Hazel’s life, he knows that the truth could ruin them.
Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door: Ghostwriter Ben works from home full time and finds himself the victim of a delivery guy who’s not that interested in the order of address numbers. Saddled with a parcel for his downstairs neighbour Heaven Lee, he begins a mission to safely deliver the package to her but all he gets is the scratching of doggy claws behind her door. Lee is a software engineer working all hours on a startup and is rarely home so Ben’s attempts are constantly thwarted. He finally leaves the first package with Lee’s dog walker but more follow so Ben decides to leave a note instead so Lee can pick up the package when she can which finally allows them to meet. Ben is already intrigued by Lee’s name and her packages and meeting her in person only increases his curiosity. Lee has been solely focussed on her job, but meeting Ben makes her want to have more in her life, but his curiosity about her packages threatens to destroy the genuine connection between them before they’ve even worked out what they have.
These are two funny and romantic stories about two couples who meet and connect in the sweetest of ways, but who are hiding secrets and behind walls which could threaten a lifetime of true love. I was laughing from page 1 and this continued throughout, along with heartwarming romance, slow burn longing, emotion and the nostalgia of old tech and music. I loved the way these two couples built their relationships and the carefully crafted back stories they had, plus the supporting cast. I was a fan of Melanie’s before I read this book and can now add Eve to my authors TBR pile. Recommended for the wit, romance, emotion, steam and the feeling of nostalgia for the ‘90s.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Love Next Door is basically a love letter to ’90s romance, and I really enjoyed how it brings together two interconnected stories while giving each couple their own distinct vibe.
Come to My Window was probably my favourite of the two. Hazel and Gideon’s relationship has that delicious anonymous-pen-pal setup where they’re emotionally intimate before they’re actually together, and I loved the tension that comes from Gideon knowing something Hazel doesn’t. The whole exchanging-notes-across-the-windows thing is ridiculously romantic and has such a nostalgic charm to it.
I also liked that Hazel isn’t just waiting around for her life to fix itself. She’s dealing with losing her job, home and sense of direction, so the romance feels tied into her figuring out what she actually wants for herself. Gideon’s secret adds a heavier layer to what otherwise could have been a very fluffy setup.
Then we get Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, which has a slightly different energy. Ben’s nosy writer brain + Lee’s mysterious packages + a dog who apparently has better judgement than everyone else made this one particularly fun.
I liked the contrast between Ben being naturally curious and Lee being determined to keep her life private.
The prose is easy and conversational, which worked really well for this kind of romance. It has that warm, nostalgic feeling without becoming overly sentimental, and the ’90s Seattle setting gives both stories a fun backdrop. The pacing was generally smooth, although I did feel that some of the emotional beats could have been given a little more room to breathe.
Overall, this was a sweet, witty and steamy romance duet with two very different takes on falling for the person next door—or across the way. If you like secrets, forced proximity, anonymous communication, neighbours-to-lovers and a healthy dose of ’90s nostalgia, this is definitely one to pick up.
Rewind the clock and step back into the 90’s. So nostalgic and comforting! Two lovable couples, two memorable stories of how they fall in love!
Side A: Come to my Window by Eve Kasey Communicating through window notes? Yes please! It was so fun following along with Gideon and Hazel, two strangers that randomly start communicating through window notes. I really loved this form of communication and the sweetness and simplicity of it! There is so much swoon and spice packed into this story and I couldn’t get enough of these two! They know each other so intimately and in such a vulnerable way before ever meeting in person. I think that makes their bond and connection so much stronger! And when they finally do get together it’s fireworks! This was so well done and just the kind of book escape I was looking for!
Side B: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door by Melanie A. Smith Oh Ben and Lee-such a quirky and unexpected love story that all starts with some misdelivered packages! Ben attempts to deliver them to the correct owner, Lee, but she is very busy and never home. Ben is intrigued about this mysterious woman and eager to meet her. After a few in person interactions they make plans for coffee dates and that of course turns into more! And can we talk about Lee’s adorable husky, Darcey? He is the star of the story and my favorite character! Such a sweet fluff ball! There’s some surprising, unexpected secrets revealed that made me enjoy the story even more! And the big romantic gesture? I loved it so much! So thoughtful and it’s quirky in perfect way you’ll understand once you read it!
Side A: Hazel watches from her window at the charming man in the neighboring house, not even suspecting that Gideon can't take his eyes off her either when she's not looking. But their tender feelings might be overshadowed by one unexpected twist of fate.
Side B: Ben accidentally receives a package meant for his neighbor from another floor. A week later, the same thing happens again. And now Ben can't stop thinking about that very neighbor who's never home. And when he finally meets her, he realizes he wouldn't mind continuing to be her personal mailman.
Omg, this was soooo cute. Both stories are absolutely charming, though the second one completely stole my heart.
Hazel and Gideon: I really loved their interactions — the notes in the windows, the phone calls. Essentially, they grew close and found someone dear to their hearts long before they ever met in person.
Ben and Lee: this is a perfect love story that started with a simple accident. Or maybe turn of fate. I absolutely loved how tender they were with each other, how Ben gradually won Lee's trust, how instantly he won over Darcy. And what he did at the end! The way he showed his feelings through actions, not words, was so touching.
Despite the short length of the stories, I found everything I needed here: enough chemistry, enough tenderness, enough love. And of course, I have to give a special shoutout to the 90s atmosphere and how seamlessly the music was woven into the plot.
Thanks Netgalley, publisher, Eve Kasey and Melanie A.Smith for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
🚨 SPOILER ALERT: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! I am giving Love Next Door: A '90s Anthem Duet by Eve Kasey & Melanie A. Smith an honest 3-star review! ⭐⭐⭐ A fun, nostalgia-packed novella duet! I absolutely loved the cover aesthetic and the clever cassette-tape structure split into Side A and Side B. It’s such a fun concept for anyone who loves retro romance! 📻📼✨ ARC Disclosure: A big thank you to NetGalley, publisher Xpresso Book Tours | Wicked Dreams Publishing, and authors Eve Kasey & Melanie A. Smith for providing an early digital review copy (eARC) of this book! All thoughts, fanatical reactions, and honest reflections shared in this review are entirely my own. The Review Love Next Door serves up pure nostalgic charm with its retro setup! I really enjoyed Side A—the next-door connection and the window communication felt super classic, though writing back and forth with markers through the window did drag out a little longer than necessary for me. Side B was a fine, easy read, but it didn't quite capture the same spark or hold my interest as much as the first story. That said, the overall '90s vibes and pop-culture references were absolute perfection! It’s a light, fun throwback read that will definitely bring back memories for fans of retro romance. The Good Super fun Side A / Side B cassette concept, gorgeous retro cover art, adorable next-door setup, and spot-on '90s nostalgic references! The Not So Good The window marker conversations in the first story felt a bit dragged out, and Side B felt a little ordinary compared to Side A.
This was such a cozy, nostalgic collection of romances. I really liked that both stories have this feeling of falling for someone before you fully understand who they are, with secrets and misunderstandings adding just enough tension to keep things interesting.
Come to My Window was probably my favorite of the two. The notes-through-the-window setup is incredibly sweet, and Hazel and Gideon’s connection feels intimate in a way that works even though they barely know each other at first. There’s also a nice emotional layer to Gideon knowing more than Hazel does, which makes their relationship feel a little bittersweet.
Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door has more of a quirky, neighborly feel. Ben and Lee have that easy banter and slow-building attraction that makes their relationship really fun to watch. I especially liked the 1995 setting and the early-internet backdrop—it gives the story a really charming time-capsule quality.
Overall, these were warm, witty, slightly mysterious romances with a lot of heart. They’re definitely more about connection and emotional intimacy than just the spice, and I loved how both stories played with the idea of letting someone past the walls you’ve built.
Great stories. Come to my Window. - Hazel has lost her job. Her highlight in the day is the hunk in the building across the alley who parades around with a shirt each evening who she calls Fred. Fred is really Gideon, who has noticed the beautiful woman who lives across from him the first day he moved in. He saw her that first day sobbing and wanted to console her. When she waved at him six months later he was thrilled to at least post notes on paper to their windows. This book is full of drama, emotions, and ends with to people finding a happy ending. I enjoyed reading both of the books.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Love Next Door is a wonderful love letter to the 1990's, to cute meet-cutes, and to romance stories as a whole. There are two stories which take place in the same Seattle neighbourhood in 1995 and the vibes, the music references, the setting - everything was on point!
Coincidentally, I moved to Seattle exactly 30 years ago and lived there for three months and I can remember walking around Capitol Hill with my Walkman listening to Jagged Little Pill by Alanis or Bringing Down the Horse by The Wallflowers and loving the autumnal feel of that beautiful city. I hope that I can go back for a visit one day - and with these two beautiful stories I could! Thank you Eve and Melanie <3
Side A: Come to my Window by Eve Kasey Are. You. FRIGGIN. KIDDING. ME!??!!??!?!!?!?!??!? Eve's ability to write swoon-worthy men who own up to their own crap while being ungodly loyal to the ones they care about is top tier. Also, they know how to dominate in the right places ;)
LOVED the connection building up between Gideon & Hazel. The cute little messages through the alley window were absolutely adorable & I was cackling at the nod to the 90's throughout. I just know a handful of readers will be googling what it means to unplug your phone to walk around to plug it in elsewhere.
THE SELF-LOVE IN THE DARK SCENE?????? THE PHONE * STUFF * SCENE!??!?!
Top tier. I love them. Gideon forever. 10/10
Side B: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door by Melanie A. Smith
Ok I’m just in love with Ben. He’s such a sweet, dweeby guy and I feel like if I were an adult in the 90’s he would’ve made me giddy 🥹
I loved the dynamic between Ben and Darcy and then Ben and Lee. Also, more of Darcy always, please!!
The throwbacks and subtle nods to the 90s were so well placed and nostalgic for me. I wasn’t a big fan of the conflict towards the end but I feel the bigger part of me understands the temptation there. And while I was smacking him in the head through the book - his “boombox” of an apology was SO sweet.
YES! This is my era! This is a duet that includes titles: Come to My Window and Knockin' on Heaven's Door. Both titles have the songs playin' in my brain. Okay, so both titles are set in Seattle in the '90's. I love how both of these interconnected and the overall characters and storylines that were well written and smooth flowing. A beautiful balance of sweet, steam and wit. I loved it and can't wait for more!

OMG I had so much fun reading both these stories, flash back to the 90s. Even found myself snort laughing out loud a couple times, blast from the past. Come To My Window Hazel and Gideons story. This one drew me in as they carried on this love story buildings apart. You have to read to see what I’m talking about. Knockin On Heavens Door is Ben and Lees story. It all starts with a package being delivered to the wrong apartment. Oh and let’s not forget about Darcy, he’s an important part of their story. Enjoy
“Love Next Door”: A '90s Anthem Duet is such an engaging read and hooked me from the start. This collection contains two stories, ”Come to My Window” (Hazel and Gideon) and “Knockin' on Heaven's Door” (Lee and Ben). The way the authors bring the romance, the humor, and the heart-felt emotions to each story is exceptionally done. Both stories present with strong, relatable characters and swoony romance. I absolutely loved “Love Next Door” and highly recommend.

Side A: What a wonderful story. Two strangers are secretly watching each other in their apartments across an alley. She is gorgeous and he is ripped as he never seems to wear shirt. Notes in windows. Finally, very early coffee, then they get closer.
Side B: Another fabulous story. A woman who codes and is surviving on only four hours of sleep a night. A ghost writer upstairs in the apartment block who keeps getting her parcels. And you cannot forget Darcy, the beautiful husky.
