When she took a short rest on the floor of her cubicle while working late, the last thing Ashley Bell expected was to wake up with the company’s notoriously hard-assed owner and CEO, Ben Stone, standing over her. The offer of a ride home is a bigger surprise, but the biggest shock of all comes when Ben asks her to work for him as his personal assistant.
Despite some misgivings about his intentions, Ashley accepts the position, but she has barely started the job when a phone call turns her life on its head. Her twin sister has been kidnapped, and the price for her life is Ashley’s help in a secret plot to destroy Ben’s company. But she soon discovers that Ben has a far more terrifying secret of his own.
From the moment he first crossed paths with Ashley, the beautiful young human from marketing, Ben has been consumed by her. When her life is threatened by his enemies he casts aside caution and fights with the rage of a beast defending his mate. Not sure he can trust her, yet determined to protect her, Ben kidnaps Ashley, planning to keep her under his watch for as long as necessary.
Ashley is none too happy with the situation, but a hard bare-bottom spanking changes her attitude… and leaves her begging for more. Though Ben knows a human girl is no match for the fearsome lusts of an alpha wolf, she ignites in him a hunger he can barely contain. Can he resist the urge to mark her as his own and take her harder than she can imagine?
Publisher’s Note: The Alpha’s Hunger contains spankings, sexual scenes, anal play, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

I’m not sure if audio smut is for me. This was a no fuss, no muss PNR read. It wasn’t too long and wasn’t too short.
I liked the narrator. She reads differently than her Heroine’s voice which is kind of odd, but okay. She has a deep voice but she makes it higher pitch for the Heroine’s voice. It’s different. I wouldn’t say she’s my favorite narrator, but she didn’t hinder my experience.
Like most of Renee Rose reads, it was filled steam and short on substance, but that is okay because I knew what I was getting myself into.
I wouldn’t really say there was a story line. I mean you have the assistance / boss storyline. He kidnaps her and does all these BDSM stuff to her, because why not?
Anyhow, not sure I’ll do any more audio reads of these, but Renee Rose is a good smutty author.
This book had all the right elements for a good paranormal read but it somehow shifted. Maybe there was one too many conflicts going on at the same time or the odd layout of the story after 75% into the book. Either way, it just turned odd. It had a lot of "clique" elements but I just rolled with it. I liked the H/h and their interactions. Their chemistry was nice to read but some aspects were repetitive (i.e. spanking) to a fault. Overall it was a decent read.

sometimes you just want to see a big bad Alpha wolf get all growly and handsy. And this one scratched that itch… mostly.
Here’s the thing , for 80% of the book we know Ben is walking around like he’s got the weight of the world on his shoulders because of his father and brother’s deaths… but we don’t find out the actual details until practically the last chapter. And the entire time I’m sitting there wondering what exactly he did that was so awful it made him fight his natural, magnetic, paw-print-level attraction to Ashley like his life depended on it.
"Rule number one, little wolfling. Never call me names." He landed another five spanks, which left her mooning. "You may call me sir, or master, or Mr.Stone."
And he’s an Alpha wolf, yet convinced he can’t lead the pack? Sure, they give an explanation, but it never fully hit for me. Felt more like “plot says no” than an actual deep reason.
But hey , if you’re here for a sexy, dominant Alpha who’s not shy about tossing a girl over his lap and spanking her into next week… this book 100% has you covered.
Alpha and CEO Ben Stone knows something is different when he finds Ashley Bell curled up by her desk trying to get rid of her migraine. Although Ben is a natural Alpha, he has not taking over the pack once his brother was killed. He is a walking target and although he has stepped into the role of CEO has not won over the company by any means.
Ashley believes Ben's demeanor is what is causing the company to struggle. She realizes quickly he is harboring a lot of guilt over his family and is not too surprised to find out he is a wolf. Acting on her belief Ben is equally attracted to her, she makes a play but every time she does he pushes her farther away. Ben doesn't believe he can hold back where Ashley is concerned and when her twin ends up in trouble he steps in to help but also to see if Ashley has betrayed him.
This story had a lot of layers to it. On the one hand you had a reluctant alpha and the other a wolf who has found his mate. Ashley was adorable and you completely understand why she does what she does. I hope this becomes a series, it easily could.
Wow! What a fantastic book. Once I started it I couldn`t put it down until I finished it. Ronee Rose goes deep into the emotions and feelings of the characters. The dialog was real and teriffic, Laugh out loud funny, tear provoking and extreamly touching. The Alpha is a sexy shifter, Ben Stone and his new personal assistant is a beautiful, adorable woman, Ashley. The mutual attraction is instantly felt the moment they met and so the story begins. There is love, romance, violence, danger, suspense, panty melting spanking and sex with paranormal thrown into the mix makes a wonderful read. I hope there is a sequel because the twin sister of Ashley, hInt, hint, Renee.
What a smoking HOT book! Whew, and I am not kidding in the least! Ben Stone is pure alpha wolf, I just love shifters, but he is struggling with some personal things from his past and comes off as stiff and unfriendly to his employees. Ashley is lucky, although she's not so sure at the time, to meet him accidentally while working late at the office one night. What follows is a romantic, suspenseful, dangerous, sexy as hell adventure you don't want to miss! The chemistry between the two of them is hot enough to melt your kindle. Grab a glass of water and a fan, you're going to need them! I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an Advanced Reader Copy.
I think this is Renee Rose’s best book and one of the best shifter stories I’ve ever read. I fell in love with hero Ben Stone from the very beginning. The heroine is charming, and the chemistry between the H/h is hot. I liked that the author took the time to develop the characters, the sexual tension, and the story in a very natural way. For a shifter story, Alpha’s Hunger is surprisingly realistic. A well written, well plotted, sexy read!
I am not one to normally read shifter stories by loved this one. Ben Stone is a hard man, a lone wolf, and trying to come to grips with the senseless death of his father and especially his brother, Leon, who left the business, Stone Technologies, a gaming company, for Ben to run as CEO. Ashley Bell has worked for Stone Tech and her confrontation with Ben moves her from a cubicle as a marketing assistant to top floor as his personal assistant. Ben feels a draw to Ashley, and she proves herself an asset for the company. Evil lurks, in espionage, kidnapping, attempted murder, sabotage, wolf packs and a wolf trying to keep a human safe. This story is captivating, with charming characters, entertaining dialogue, sometimes having me laughing out loud. It also has its erotic moments, with an alpha wolf who dominates a submissive with spankings, steamy scenes between them, even though he tries to resist his urges, sometimes attraction can be overwhelming. Life is too short, and nearly losing someone you realize is your soul mate shakes you up enough to step up and take control and master the situation. Disclosure: I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions, and ratings are my own.
I am excited to read more about Ben and Ashley in The Alpha's Punishment.
Ashley finds herself thrust into a world she didn’t know existed and not in a good way. Her sister is in danger and she has just tried to kill her boss, at least inadvertently. Will she find her sister and save herself? Chances of success seem a bit slim or are they? The Alpha’s Hunger by Renee Rose was the first time I read this author but I can honestly say it will not be the last. This story was well written and full of action from the get go. Ashley has found herself in a no win situation but she is determined to save her sister and do the right thing. Little does she know just how stacked against her the odds are. And Ben isn’t quite sure what to make of the shy human. His wolf is fascinated by her and so is the human side, but why? Finding out was half the fun and seeing Ashley stand up to the Alpha wolf was the other half. Seeing how Ms. Rose managed to tie up the threads of this story in a way that was believable and exciting was well worth taking a chance on this new to me author. The story was well written and the characters were likeable. I hope to see more in this world and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
Things I wish: I wish I hadn't started this book at bedtime thinking "I'll only read a couple chapters" then I wouldn't be falling asleep at my desk today. I wish I was the fabulous Renee Rose's bestie, so some of her brilliance would rub off on me. I wish I was one of the characters in her amazing books, instead of just a woman blessed enough to have stumbled accross this author, then I'd be living the dream instead of just escaping reality occasionally in her work.
If you have not read this book, read it. Right now. Then immediatly read the sequal, The Alpha's Punishment. I un-intentionally read them backwards. When I do this, I usually NEVER go back and read the one before, thinking that the whole first story would then be ruined for me, because I already know so much of it's ending. NOPE! Didnt happen. Both books are MUST READ!! So stop reading this and go buy them. NOW. Why are you still reading this? GO! Oh, and please forgive all the typo's due to the fact that I stayed up until 3am due to the fact that I just couldnt...put....it...zzzzzzzzzz.
The Alpha's Hunger is a fast paced, fun read. It wasn't my favorite spanking story by Renee Rose, but it was well written with Renee's signature sexy spanking scenes. In this particular story the heroine, Ashley, has far more sense and courage than the hero, Ben. Ben is so full of guilt and insecurities that for much of the story I wasn't particularly rooting for their HEA. Things did come out all right in the end though.
Ashley Bell has gotten the shock of her life when Ben Stone, CEO of the company she works for offers her a job as his assistant. Ashley is ready to work hard and prove herself to Ben, when she gets a phone call that rips her world apart. Now she must do whatever the caller says or they will kill her twin sister.
Ben Stone hates having people in his personal space, but when he meets Ashley he is drawn to her in a way that has never happened with any woman before. In an effort to keep her close he offers her a job she can not refuse. But what is he supposed to do when his new assistant is found doing things she has no business doing?
Kidnap her, mate her, and of course give her the best loving she has ever had in her life..of course!
I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review!
This is the third book that I have read by Renee Rose. The first being "Mob Mistress" then "The Alphas Punishment" which is the second book in this series and now this book. I absolutely love this series and I think I am about to become a fan girl for Renee Rose. It seems like I completely get hooked after the first page.
Renee does a great job bringing a little punishment into the bedroom. Ashley knows that she done something very bad in this book and understands that Ben needs to punish her. I love that Ben kind of breaks things down for her explaining why he is doing what he is doing.
At the same time, although Ashley lets him get away with a lot of things, she is not a door mat. She is a quick learner she knows that he essentially needs her and is willing to do anything to keep her safe and in his arms.
I definitely recommend this book and this Author. This book is selling right now for 4.95 on Amazon kindle and the second book, "The Alphas Punishment" is only .99 cents; I think that is a great price.
ARC provided bye netgalley for an honest review. This is my first time reading a book by this author. Ben Stone is now in charge of his dead brothers company. He lost both his dad and his brother 3 years before. He is a lone wolf and doesn't like having anyone in his space. One night he is leaving work and he gets a prickling in the back of his neck, When he gets off the elevator. He see's a arm so he walks and finds a woman laying on the floor. Ashley Bell has been working there for almost two years. He offers to drive her home and offers her a job as he personal assistant. The sexual tension between these two is so thick you can cut it with a knife. So the next day he picks her up and tells her a time to be at his office. She shows up and he sets her up a task to complete. When the given amount of time is up he strolls in the conference room and ask her what she found. She begins to explain everything. He offers her the job. As the week goes by the plot thickens. Someone has kidnapped Ashley's twin sister and they want her to get Bens laptop. I can not say anymore because this is where it starts getting hot. If you want a hot Alpha male who is very Dominate and protective then he is the one for you, I loved the story it was a quick read for me and something I could read again.
Good Read, Good Characters **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review**Ben Stone was 30, had 523 employees, co-owner and CEO of Stone Technologies. He had become owner 3 years ago. Ben was also a wolf shifter. He found a woman on the floor. Ashley worked there as a marketing assistant. She said she was trying to meditate to release a migraine headache. Ben was unsettled by his reaction to this human female. Ben ended up hiring Ashley as his personal assistant. Ashley had a twin sister. After becoming Ben's assistant, she got a text from someone stating they had her sister and she would have to get Ben's laptop to them if she wanted to see her alive. Ben felt guilt about his brother's death although it wasn't his fault. He was mentally and physically strong. He was usually pretty serious until he met Ashley. He also controlled himself very well except around Ashley. He was a take-charge kind of man for the most part. He viewed himself as a failure. But through the twists and turns in this story he found love and became the Alpha he was meant to be. Ashley was a smart woman. She liked to be challenged. She was caring and loved her sister. She could be stubborn and didn't always listen to what was good for her. She also grew and found love.I liked the characters, plot and story. I recommend to anyone that likes this genre.
Ashley is human and draws Ben like no one ever has. Ben is a shifter wolf with a sad past.
He has been left with his deceased brother's tech company and the responsibility for making sure his brother's wife and pups are cared for. And taking over the alpha position in the pack. He takes the company, not the pack
People aren't happy, wolves aren't happy, and the pheromones are out of control
Mating, marking, shifting, spanking, and out of control emotions are mixed with alpha dominance. Yum. Good movement, good story, nice characterizations. I have not historically liked shifter books but I liked this one.
This is my first book by Renee Rose and I have found another author that I love! This is a book of about 165 or so pages... so just the right size for that quick romance book fix...which you really can't put this book down. This is a really hot book, so be prepared! I loved the hero, Ben Stone and felt for him and the loss of his brother. Ben is struggling with having to step into his brother shoes. By the ben is a alpha wolf and we see that Ashley will be his mate. The heroine Ashley Bell is now throw into a real life mystery and a life she didn't know excited. Glad to have this book and hope that you like it too!
You should note this book falls into the genre of erotic romance so if you don't like your romance a little racy, you should bypass. The sex is hot with spankings and some light domination. That doesn't bother me but it may bother some. I did like the lead characters, Ashley and Ben. Though the story moves quickly, their feelings for each other progress in a believable way. I do wish Ashley's history was explained a bit better. I felt it was thrown in there to wrap things up. Maybe if there's a follow up book to tell her sister's story, we'll learn more about it. I would recommend it as a quick read for a lazy summer afternoon.
Renee's shifter romance will seriously keep you on the edge of your seat, or bed, or wherever you happen to be sitting. Ben Stone is so much more than he appears to be, and his lovely assistant Ashley is his perfect match. I love her spark, but most of all, I love how much she loves him. So many amazing twists and turns, had me hooked from the very first page. I sincerely hope for more wolves in the future. Loved it! Be sure to check out the sizzling companion story, The Alpha's Punishment. I just can't get enough of these two!
I liked that Ben cursed himself for not thinking of things it shows he cares, "no, thank you,” she said, “but you wouldn’t have a shirt I could borrow, would you?” He cursed inwardly. He should have asked Shayla for clothes for Ashley. What the hell was wrong with him? He should be more thoughtful about his woman’s needs." Never trust a wolf when he's all agreeable he'll always have things his way, "Ben shrugged. “All right. I’ll try not to rip your little skirts off while we’re at the office." I liked this book there was a lot of spanking going on, but hey thats Ben's thing.
I received this book from the publisher in exchange for a honest review.
This book was utterly disappointing. It could not, in my opinion, give the paranormal romance genre a worse image. There was absolutely no real back bone to the story and it read like a bad under budget porn script. It's like the author only added the paranormal aspect do she could easily explain some of the dominating male character traits the main male lead had. It was so awful
More than once in this book, I wanted to punch the h in the face...repeatedly. Oy vey, this wanted to be a paranormal book...this wanted to be a beginner's bdsm book with domestic discipline...this wanted to be a billionaire takes the personal assistant to wife. *insert huge eye roll* In the end, it wasn't a good example of any of those things with its scattered plot, forgettable characters, and lackluster sex scenes.
The Alpha's Hunger was a good paranormal story. There was some mystery of who done it, which I figured out right away, that kept it interesting. The relationship between the main characters kept me engrossed in the story throughout the entire book.
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley for an honest review.
A very enjoyable read! The sex was hot and rough, and any woman's dream. I had read the Alpha's Punishment prior to this book and fell in love with the characters. I was very happy to read this installment. I received an advanced reader copy from Stormy Night Publications.
Hot romance. The chemistry between Ben and Ashley is strong from the moment they meet. I kept yelling at Ben to get over his problems and take Ashley. But at the same time I was yelling at Ashley to just smack him and leave him hanging.
This one comes with a little author note saying it’s different from her usual style, and yep—she’s not wrong. But honestly? It works. You can see the raw talent, the bones of what makes Renee Rose so good now, already present in this earlier book. It’s a little darker, a little kinkier, and definitely bolder.
This is a full-on shifter romance with actual plot, not just “he’s your mate, now strip.” There’s business power plays, shady corporate enemies, dead brothers, a pack to lead, betrayal, and yes—a kidnapping AND a bomb. The twists come fast, and some of them actually got me, which is rare.
Now let’s talk about that early jump in the plot. Here’s the thing: the book is only around 200 pages, and because of that, we don’t get a slow warm-up. You get one good flirt scene, maybe a shared laugh… and then BAM—her sister’s kidnapped, she’s blackmailed, he kidnaps her in return, and we’re suddenly in Dom-mode spank city. No buildup. No soft transition. I needed lube for that scene. 🧴💀
I’m not saying it was bad—it was hot—but I wish we’d had a few extra chapters to build some emotional tension first. That way, the jump into kink would’ve landed smoother and felt more earned. Once you move past that initial "wait, what?" moment, though? Everything clicks. The dynamic deepens, the romance gets really good, and the action never lets up.
Also, if you’re a fan of dominant shifters, spanking-as-punishment, and those darker alpha/submissive power plays that Renee doesn’t really write anymore—this is 100% for you. Her modern books lean more contemporary, but this one is here to scratch that primal itch. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than half the “mate books” out there that have no plot and all vibes. This one brings heat and substance.
Recommended for: readers who want growly alphas, dangerous stakes, steamy discipline, and don’t mind a fast entry into the action. Just know—there’s no warm-up lap. 🐺🔥
