Prepare for laughter, sighs, tears, and shocking surprises in Family & Fortune, Volume V in the dangerously delicious ongoing series, The Adventures of Anabel Axelrod.
Floating on drama-free air, Anabel and Luke revel in their time spent together like a normal couple before the upcoming Las Vegas weddings. But their sensual idyll can’t last forever, especially when contrary to all the promises made in the ads, what happens in Vegas starts in Northfield. As the family weddings draw nearer, so does trouble. Anabel has to be on her toes like never before when confronted with a blackmailing ex-cousin, weird behavior from her niece, strangers asking strange questions, wedding havoc in the family, Vegas gangstas, jealous girlfriends, and a seriously freaky fan boy who may be more bite than bark.
If Anabel doesn't play her tarot cards right, not even the talented Mr. Tricky can save her from the fortune destined to take her breath away--for good!

What a super snarky crazy amazing series. The unexpected always happens, and the dialog is totally funny. I adore Luke and Anabel. Luke is so serious while Anabel just blurts out everything she thinks, sometimes even talking to herself out loud. The two wouldn't seem to mix, but their chemistry is amazing and their encounters often amusing. I have enjoyed every story in this series. I've gotta say, the ending for this story caught me off guard. I even find myself speculating whether it might all have been a dream. I totally need more details! How will I ever wait until the next book?
I honestly can't say enough about this series. I wish I was friends with these character's. Not one other series has ever made me laugh out loud as much as this one. I don't even usually write reviews but I always do for these. The characters in these books I find are totally relatable personality wise and entertaining as hell, so if you don't want to laugh and be entertained, these books aren't for you. Anyone else, I highly recommend them! Can't wait for the next one!
Another winner! (it primarily takes place in Las Vegas.)
Anabel Axelrod is delightful and she is well matched by Luke Drake. This story had intrigue, mystery, madcap adventures, witty dialogue and lots of laughs. Trouble finds Anabel despite traveling to Las Vegas for the first time. This Book (# 5 in the series,) has less drama then previous ones, but that was a welcome relief. Here, I finally believed they've become a solid couple.
The only downside is waiting for the next story about Anabel's Adventures! Kudos to Tracy Ellen for giving us a sneak peak at the upcoming book.
Tracy Ellen is at it again with her brilliant writing and devious plot line. Readers crave more of Anabel, Luke, and the crazy Axelrods as each of the books within this series comes to an end. However, nothing can prepare readers for the cliff hangers/open ends of Family & Fortune. I was completely shocked at the turn of events that occurred! I had the pleasure of rereading the entire book to help wrap my mind around the turn of events. If I had to summarize this book into two words, PLOT TWIST would definitely suffice. Family & Fortune does not disappoint.
Well I have to say that, as I continue to read this series I'm beginning to envision whom I'd like to see play each character if a TV series were to ever be contemplated.
Great work thus far Tracy Ellen!
I can't wait to see where Anabel Axelrod will take me next.... Las Vegas was pretty fun, though I felt hugely bad for Stella and Eric George.
I don't like spoilers, because I believe you should experience a story firsthand. You will not be disappointed with this series!
4.25 stars of fortune. This is another winner from Tracy Ellen and the Anabel Axelrod series. The dialog is as snarky as ever, the plot twists never end, and the Axelrods are as quirky as always. Pure entertainment with a side of laugh out loud humor.
Luke and Anabel are at it again. Anabel still has no filter and Luke is sometimes speechless when she opens her mouth. No matter where Anabel goes she ends up in trouble. Luke's time in Delta Force never prepared him for what Anable gets herself into. They are hilarious. In this installment, they are headed to Vegas for the weddings of Reg & Anna and Stella & Eric George. Within thirty minutes of arriving Anabel becomes embroiled in an altercation between a maid and one of Vegas's most notorious criminals. And that's when the fun begins.
This is one of my favorite series and I can't wait to see what's next for Luke and Anabel. I know their story doesn't stop here....cliffhanger alert!!!!
The Anabel and Luke comedy drama continues...brilliantly
I had been anxiously awaiting the next book in these adventures, and episode 5 does not disappoint!
As always, the story takes place immediately after the end of the last book. Picking up where our characters left off, some of the storyline cliffhangers are explained and just as many new ones occur. The planning the two Las Vegas weddings of some of the more minor characters is taking place.
A portion of this book is set prior to arrivals in Vegas, but it is after everyone arrives in Vegas that they story gets most lively! Anabel find herself once again wrapped up in a dangerous mystery, friends are confused, and the entire ending (and a hum-dinger of a cliffhanger this time) is off the charts!!!
Now I am more anxiously awaiting the next installment. HURRY!!!
I loved book 4 of the series and had high hopes for book 5. The author did have to put in the suspense and intrigue. The story was great with getting to know the characters as average people. I was all excited with the idea of a spontaneous wedding. That is what Luke and Anabel are all about. But to end the story the way it did was very disappointing. We don't know how Anabel got to the mansion, what happened, or get to see her Dark Prince ride in on his stallion to save her. If it was meant to be funny because Anabel is getting something she never wanted, it wasn't. There isn't even a tease that there will be more to come. I had such high hopes for this book and Tracy Ellen you let me down.
I was happy to receive an advanced copy of the newest Anabel Axelrod series. Anabel and Luke finally have some down time during the holidays to have a normal relationship before they along with their family and friends head out to Vegas for two weddings. Once there the fun and adventure starts as soon as they step into their posh hotel. As Luke gets involved in some high stake poker games, Anabel gets involved in all the pre-wedding festivities. During that time she also gets involved in a murder, runs into a crime boss and his lackey who are both fascinated by Anabel. Book 5 is full of excitement and some great twists and turns. All I can say about the ending is Wow! I highly recommend this series and this book.
Anabel and Luke are back together. They are now in a committed relationship but not engaged yet. A surprise birthday party for Anabel, Christmas and off to Las Vegas for Anna's New Year's Eve wedding and Stella's New Year' Day wedding. When you get to Divin Dan's story, stop and get some tissues. You will laugh til you cry! Who is after Anabel now? What is Candy, Anabel's ex-cousin, up to? Is Kenna helping Candy? Romance, murder, and mayhem. What will happen next?
Just finished reading and words cannot describe what I'm feeling right now. What an abrupt and shocking ending! There was so much going on that there was never a dull moment. Anabel's banter and interactions with Luke, her family, and her friends were great and entertaining as usual. Hopefully more explanation/analysis will happen about the villain of this fifth volume. I enjoyed reading this fifth volume as much as I did with the previous books in the series, if not more so. Just when I think what else could possibly happen to Anabel, Ms. Ellen provides quite a whopper!
Watch out, Sin City; Anabel and company are on the loose! Prepare for mystery, romance, twists, and a shocking turn of events. This book raises a few questions I can't wait to read the answers to. Family and Fortune is my favorite book of this series. Tracy Ellen keeps her readers on edge and begging for more!
I was so looking forward to this book but I have to say I am somewhat disappointed that we didn't get to see more of the kidnaping. Also, I saw the ending coming from almost the beginning. Hope something in the next book will change where this ending was headed. If not how can the Annabel I love sneak out in the middle of the night with her sisters for some mischief?
I honestly love this series. The characters in these book are all so lovable and entertaining. I feel in love with Luke and Annabel in the first book and the story's just keep getting better. I highly recommend them!
Anabel and her merry band of misfits take on Las Vegas. What could go wrong? This book will make you laugh out loud. Sexy, funny, and thrill. What else do you need? My favorite series. If you don't have the rest of the series, go out and get it.
This book just came out a day or so ago and I've already finished reading it! I've thoroughly enjoyed all the books in this series. Sorry to be so demanding Tracy but I hope the next book will be out very soon!!
I have been anxiously awaiting Anabel’s trip to Vegas because I knew it was going to be an unforgettable one, and it was well worth the wait. From the plane ride to the ending, I was giggling and crying along with my favorite cast of characters. All I can say is that Tracy has yet to disappoint me.
New characters are introduced and described by Anabel in her usual hilarious ways. Ash’s obsession with Disney songs had me laughing so hard, I had to put my Kindle down to compose myself before continuing. When reading about the spiderman, I couldn’t help thinking that this series could easily jump into the paranormal genre and I would still love it just as much, and the ending had me smiling at the thought.
As always, I love Luke Drake. He could kill baskets full of kittens, and I am pretty sure I would still be obsessed with that fictional man, but I like to think that the man of my dreams wouldn’t do such a horrible thing to innocent little kittens. :-)
This series is well worth every penny and one I plan to read over and over again. You are seriously missing out if you pass this one up!
Oh Tracey, Tracey, what have you done to me, your books have hypnotised me, I can't get enough of Annabelle and Luke's steaming, sexy love story. From the perilous, mysterious escapades to the sultry, steaming hot passion and the flirtatious love and delicious mouth-watering food, this set of books has captured me from the very first page. From the moment I came across your first book I was totally smitten, every waking moment, morning until night I have raced through each book in the series. Tracey you have drawn me in so that I feel like I am one of Annabelle's sisters and I am living in her crazy, beautiful, hilarious world, sharing in the love and passion of their hot, ripped men and enveloped by the love and caring nanabel, the all seeing godmother, Jamie and sexist, opinionated police chief, Jack Banner. I love how luke interacts saucily with Annabelle and so envious of Annabelle's hilarious and flippant repartee and the banter with which all the family members have when they all get together. This series has spoilt me, it is a hard act to follow, how can I read and enjoy any other books written by any other author now Tracey?
Trouble seems to find Anabel no matter where she is. All of the family heads to Las Vegas for weddings for Anna & Reggie and Stella and Eric George. Anabel promised she would stay out of trouble and be the best maid of honor, ever. Well, this is Anabel we are talking about so plans don't exactly stay on track. This book has a bit of a cliffhanger unlike the prior ones so I am really glad the next book is already published!
I was confused by what happened to Anabel and how she ended up with Kyle. But considering the condition she was in and the fact that this is first person pov, I guess it makes sense.
But the ending caught me off guard! Nothing ever happens the way Anabel plans!

I'd put No stars if I could. Pure Garbage. The cover, and upcoming events/story line was the draw And hope that Ms. Ellen had gained ANY moral intelligence at all. This is indeed a DO NOT READ. She is pathetic. I was giving Ms. Ellen a last chance since I Did read all the other 4 books in this series, skimming over much! Anyone who continues to read this book past too much of the 2nd or 3rd chp has Gotta be any number of void of the same - moral intelligence but Also desperately and Extremely sexually repressed.
This is the 1dt installment I haven't adored. I enjoyed it, definitely and some of the dialogue had me in stitches but there was something slightly off about this story. I found despite the unrealistic dramas of the other stories you could still relate but this installment was different. The ending also was just not quite right and though I've literally just finished this book I'll have to read through the ending again. I've read the lot in about 6 days and thoroughly enjoyed them. Can't wait for the next episode in the manically ridiculous life of Anabel Axelrod and co.
Anabel, Anabel. I swoon whenever Luke says that, and he's a fictional character. I love this series SO. MUCH. I just went back a reread all of the first six books that are published and I was reminded that these stories are super enthralling, super sexy, and downright addicting! How can they not be when you have a feisty, independent, self-aware female protagonist and a man to match?! I relate so much to Anabel but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) don't lead as an exciting life. READ. THIS. SERIES.
"What happens in Vegas starts in Northfield!" With weddings looming in the future, gangsta poker games and a few psychopaths that want Anabel for their own take this series going. Anabel is always getting into trouble, never backs down from a challenge and fiercely protects her family. Oh, did I mention the PLOT TWIST?, you won't even believe it when you read it. Start reading this series!~
