What a great ending to the The Season Trials series!
I was so excited when I learned there were going to be a spin-off. And about Sienna?! Our beloved queen?! We LOVE her.
The other charachters like Vlad and Yuri also make appearances of course. But the focus in this book is on Sienna and that weird creepy mist hanging around their island home. When it starts consuming and attacking a village, she decides to sail across the ocean (major Moana vibes lol). A whole ass mystery unfolds and I don't want to spoil anything but we get a new MMC.
Enter Kazimir. He's a king, a bit weird, but also funny. It takes a little time to warm up to him but you'll get there. There's a lot happening with him and on his island and with Sienna and him. But I really liked that the adventure was always fun but never too complicated too follow. The ending did feel a little rushed somehow but not too much that it wasn't enjoyable.
Look, I know this is the end of the series BUT can a girl secretly hope that Jonas also writes a spin-off? To really finish it off? 👀
