About the author

Married for over twenty years to her best friend, they have two spoilt dachshunds that reign supreme over the house. She loves gardening, hiking, shopping, knitting and football (Cowboys and Bronco’s fan), but not necessarily in that order.

I totally love this well-written story from cover to cover. The characters are great in the old west where things can get pretty wild and downright dangerous. It has depth to the characters plus humorous and serious times as well, throughout. Would make a GREAT MOVIE!

What an Awesome Story! Daring takes you back to the West in times three sisters who have hopes for a better life but with twisted and dangerous villains on the loose as deadly as venomous snakes Meg, Annabelle and Ruby find themselves on the hunt for thrs outlaws! This is the story of Ruby, from naive fifteen year old to gun-toting, risk taking, sweet talking no nonsense bounty hunter who finds herself face to face with Deke a man from her past. Deke can't believe he wakes up to one crazy risk taking girl trying to steal his outlaw! The two join forces to go after the man responsible for the death of her father. As the spark fly between Ruby and Deke, igniting a blaze of passion in this action-packed  rollercoaster ride full of twist and turns that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat. Will Ruby get her man who done her wrong or will he high tail it out of town like as before? Sylvia McDaniel has outdone herself with this outstanding Western romance that is so believable you feel every emotion that they are feeling throughout and imagine yourself as one of the characters or just part of their journey, a strong plot with great and witty dialogue, looking forward to Determined.

The Lipstick and Lead series is top-notch writing and Daring #4 is no exception. The female lead is strong, brave, and smart. She may not need a man, but she just might want the right man for the rest of her life. While the book can be read as a stand-alone, it is extra enjoyable to read the series from the beginning just to draw out the full pleasure of reading this series of books. Love it!

Deke and Ruby

This is a well written story about the youngest sister of three bounty hunting sisters. The plot and the characters, recurring and new have been well thought out. There is excitement, adventure, humor, fear, and the promise of a happily ever after. You will greatly enjoy this story. You will greatly enjoy this series.

This series is so good.
I loved all of the stories but I think Ruby and Deke are my favorite.
This was a slow burn since they first run in to each otehr book one.
This is a must read series with a happy ending for all.

Ruby McKenzie and her sisters took up bounty hunting after the death of their father in order to save their farm. Now that Meg and Annabelle are married and expecting, they don’t want Ruby going hunting alone. Ruby loves the hunt and uses every thing in her arsenal to catch them. Ruby takes her cousin on the hunt with her and when they stumble upon the camp where their bounty is, she comes face to face with the man who broke her heart a few years ago. Deke Culver.

To say Deke was shocked when Ruby McKenzie comes to steal his bounty would be an understatement. Ruby was the one woman who he wanted since meeting her but he can never have. And marriage is a definite no. After learning that the man who killed Ruby’s father and Deke’s mentor, they decide to team up to bring him in. Will Deke be able to keep his distance from Ruby and keep his secret that keeps him from committing to a woman?

This series is amazing. It keeps you drawn from the very beginning. I have looked forward to Ruby’s book for a long time! I can’t wait to see what else Sylvia has in mind for this series!

Daring, by Sylvia McDaniel is the latest in her Lipstick and Lead series that involves strong independent women who make a living collecting bounties. Ruby McKenzie is the last of the McKenzie sisters who is still in the bounty hunting business, and even though in the beginning hunting bounties was necessary it has become a way of life for Ruby. Deke Culver is a ruggedly handsome bounty hunter who has crossed paths with Ruby when she was younger and they did not part on the best of terms. Deke is dumbstruck when Ruby steals his bounty, but not because of her brashness, but because he has always loved her and she has never strayed far from his thoughts. Together they join forces in order to retrieve a common enemy from a dangerous situation, and the more time they spend together the deeper their love grows. This novel is filled with suspense, romance, and the strength it takes to overcome obstacles. Ms. McDaniel has written an amazing tale that takes the reader back to a time when honor and courage stood for something. I was given this book by the author for a fair and honest review.

I have followed this series by Sylvia McDaniel and couldn't wait to read Ruby's story in Daring. Ruby was always the flirtatious little sister and wanted a kiss from Deke Culver before he left her and her sisters. But learning her lesson, she no longer wants a man in her life. The sisters had all made money from bounty hunting while Ruby stayed home and now Ruby wants her chance. Little did she know, chasing a bounty, would lead her back to Deke. With his own secrets why he could never grow close to Ruby, he is still as distant as ever as they work together. But how long can he fight his desire for Ruby? She was just a young girl when he last saw her and now she is a full grown woman. The longer it takes to capture the man that killed Ruby's father, the harder Deke finds it to keep away from Ruby and give into his dreams and desires. Before it their hunt is over will they realize they are to be together or will Deke leave Ruby again?

An action filled adventure with the youngest McKenzie sister Ruby and brings back bounty hunter Deke Culver. After Ruby and her cousin Caroline come across Deke while tracking a bounty, she can't seem to shake him loose. This story takes you back when Ruby first met Deke, and gradually unveils their lives since then. While they are intent on catching a bounty together, Ruby may end up doing so much more then even she expects.
I enjoyed reading Daring. A fun and adventurous book, and I hope you'll enjoy it as well. I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
