About the author

Duane Boehm grew up on a farm outside of Petersburg, Illinois. All the time spent driving a tractor gave him plenty of opportunity to let his imagination run wild and not tear up too much equipment. The two passions he developed early in life were the love of playing guitar and reading books.

He eventually moved to a mini-farm outside of Murfreesboro, Tennessee with his wife and replaced planting corn with trees and raising dogs. For a number of years he worked as an IT consultant and continued with being a part-time musician and songwriter. He dabbled in writing short stories with the idea in the back of his mind that someday he would write a novel. One Christmas after watching "A Christmas Carol", he was inspired to begin his journey as a novelist.

Another great story

Over the past several years I have read all of Boehm's books and have enjoyed them all. He is a great storyteller. I would have rated 5 stars on this book, except for the profanity. Seems that his first books were free of profanity and that as time goes on there is more profanity in his stories. As I've said many times, the story sells itself, the profanity is completely unnecessary and for me it detracts from the story. I would recommend most all his stories to any age reader if not for the language. I hope he reads this and acts upon the advice, meanwhile I look forward to his next book release.

Loved this book! Definitely a good read.

I always enjoy Duane Boehm’s writing, but this one was amazing in my opinion. The development of his characters and changing the feeling of the words to fit a young boy, a school teacher, a couple of bad guys and the marshal was such fun to read. I don’t recall another story I’ve read that developed the scenes and verbiage as well as Mr. Boehm accomplished in “The Marshal And Me”.

Loved the book and characters!

Please, will there be sequel. I searched and couldn't find any information on a continuing series. What a shame if there's not one.
Duane Boehm must have quite a witty personality because he infuse's his characters with a lot of humor and quick wit. Great comebacks and one liners. Rory is quite the young man (10 years old) for being the son of a criminal (bartender, thief, liar, and murderer.)

Excellent as Usual (Sequel Please)

Another terrific read from Mr. Boehm, there are a abundance of interesting characters, and the usual excellent dialogue between them. The top notch writing brings to life the intriguing storyline. There is plenty of action, and the pages turn swiftly! I really hope that there will be a sequel or sequels, as Buffalo Springs has a lot more story to be told!👏👏

An Enjoyable Story

I really liked this book. I didn’t want to put it down. I’m actually disappointed that i finished reading it. I wish there was a sequel because I love so many of the characters. I want to know what happens to everyone.

Right and Wrong

As we grow up and experience learning right from wrong most of us tend to lean towards doing the right thing. Young Rory had to look for good on his own until the Marshall came to town. The friendship that developed and how the two got over a really rough stretch makes for some good life lessons. Really do recommend this story for a wide range of ages.

It was captivating all the way through! This is a different sort of story than I am used to! Some of the details caught me off guard lol but once I understood the wriggling I got into the story! It is just like watching an old western on tv except with more details on the stuff tv leaves out! I enjoyed it and will be looking into more of his books👏👏
