For the TRUE beginner that has no knowledge, no skills, no experience, and has never left the neighborhood of their birth, this book will be an OK place to start. The vague, general, and kindergarten tone quickly proved this book wasn't for me. If you can pack a bag and plan a vacation then you have the skills of a BEGINNER BACKPACKER already.

Poorly written, Silly.

Anyone who is considering a long backpacking trip has at least the common sense ideas presented here. The only good thing about this book was its price - zero.
