🖤 One Wrong Elevator Ride Changed Everything 🖤
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 🌶️🌶️

Sometimes one wrong turn changes everything, and in His Assistant, it leads to danger, romance, and a love story that proves trust can be just as powerful as protection.

Dominic Vieri is the kind of hero who commands every room he enters. As a billionaire with a thriving business empire that hides his ruthless mafia life, he is used to having complete control over everything around him. Then Sofia walks into his office by accident, and suddenly the carefully ordered life he has built begins to unravel. Their boss and assistant relationship is filled with lingering glances, witty banter, and undeniable chemistry, but what I loved most was seeing their connection grow into something much deeper than attraction. Dominic may intimidate everyone else, but with Sofia we see a man learning that protecting someone is not the same as controlling them.

Sofia quickly became one of my favorite parts of the story. She is determined to rebuild her life while helping her father through his financial struggles, and even after discovering the dangerous world she's been pulled into, she refuses to lose herself. She is stubborn, outspoken, and willing to stand her ground, even when it would be easier to let Dominic make every decision for her. Yes, she makes mistakes, but they feel genuine because they come from her emotions rather than forced drama. Watching her challenge Dominic at every opportunity made their relationship even more enjoyable.

The romance develops naturally alongside the suspense. Hidden enemies, betrayals, family loyalty, and the search for a traitor kept the tension high without overshadowing the relationship. I also appreciated the supporting cast, who added depth to Dominic's world and made me curious about their own stories.

What stood out most to me was the emotional growth between Dominic and Sofia. Their relationship is not built solely on physical attraction. They learn to communicate, trust one another, and become true partners despite the dangers surrounding them. One of my favorite lines perfectly captured that journey: "If we're going to build something real, then we can't be afraid to say the things that scare us." That message stayed with me long after I finished the book.

If you're looking for a mafia romance with a protective billionaire hero, a strong heroine who refuses to lose her independence, workplace tension, forced proximity, emotional character growth, and just the right balance of romance and suspense, His Assistant is one I definitely recommend.

If you're looking for a mafia romance packed with forbidden attraction, danger, and irresistible chemistry, this book delivers.
Dominic is a powerful billionaire with a successful business empire that serves as the perfect cover for his true role as a ruthless mafia boss. He's intelligent, commanding, and always in control—until Sofia walks into his office as his new assistant. Despite the undeniable attraction between them, Dominic knows getting involved with her would only put her in danger. Unfortunately, the heart doesn't always listen to reason.
Sofia has no idea about the darker side of Dominic's world. She's focused on rebuilding her life and dealing with the fallout of her father's financial troubles, unaware that his debts have placed her directly in the path of dangerous people. As secrets unravel, she's thrust into a world of violence, betrayal, and power where Dominic becomes the only person capable of protecting her.
One of my favorite things about Sofia is that she isn't a helpless heroine. She has a stubborn streak, speaks her mind, and refuses to let anyone dictate her life. Yes, she makes decisions that aren't always the smartest, but they feel realistic because they're driven by emotion rather than perfect logic. Instead of becoming frustrating, her flaws make her relatable. She refuses to cower in fear, and I loved watching her challenge Dominic at every opportunity.
Dominic may be intimidating to everyone else, but with Sofia we get to see another side of him. Beneath the hardened mafia exterior is a man who genuinely wants to keep her safe while respecting the fierce independence that first drew him to her. Their push-and-pull dynamic creates plenty of delicious boss-assistant tension, filled with lingering glances, witty banter, and undeniable chemistry that slowly builds into a passionate romance.
The story strikes a great balance between romance and suspense. Alongside the sizzling attraction between Dominic and Sofia, there's plenty of action, hidden enemies, shocking betrayals, and the mystery of a traitor lurking in the shadows. The supporting cast adds depth to the story, making the mafia world feel rich and believable while leaving you eager to learn more about the characters surrounding Dominic.
Overall, this was an entertaining mafia romance that blends high stakes, emotional moments, protective hero vibes, and a heroine who refuses to lose herself. If you enjoy billionaire mafia bosses, workplace romance, forced proximity, protective alpha heroes, strong heroines, and suspense woven through a slow-burning love story, this is definitely one worth picking up.

A wrong turn put her in his office. Falling for him put her in the crosshairs.

Sofia only wants a steady paycheck and a chance to help her father stay afloat. Instead, one mistake lands her in the orbit of Dominic, a powerful businessman whose attention is impossible to ignore. What begins as a job quickly becomes something far more dangerous as attraction grows and boundaries start to crack.

Dominic is used to being in control. He trusts strategy, loyalty, and the walls he's built around his life. Sofia challenges all of that. She's sharp enough to keep up with him, stubborn enough to push back, and brave enough to question the choices he expects everyone else to accept. The closer they get, the harder it becomes to separate business from desire.

When violence from Dominic's world begins spilling into Sofia's life, the risks become impossible to ignore. Threats escalate, secrets surface, and every attempt to protect the people they love pulls them deeper into danger. As enemies close in, trust becomes just as important as survival.

Sofia learns that trusting someone doesn't mean surrendering herself, while Dominic confronts the difference between protection and control. Their connection evolves from forbidden attraction into a possessive, emotionally intimate partnership where trust becomes just as important as desire.

An ultra-steamy, age gap, boss and assistant mafia romance with accidental pregnancy, forced proximity, possessive protection, and romantic suspense. It explores trust, control, family, vulnerability, autonomy, and devotion. It’s about a woman who protects her independence, a man who learns protection isn't control, and a hard-won love built through honesty and partnership.

The Elevator Pitch: A determined young assistant takes the wrong turn at work and finds herself caught between a powerful man’s carefully controlled world and the dangers gathering around him. As attraction deepens into something neither of them can walk away from, loyalty, secrets, and family obligations force them to decide how much they're willing to risk for each other. What begins as a workplace collision becomes a battle between control and trust, where love may be the most dangerous vulnerability of all.

Heat Level: 🖤🔥 Erotica / Kink-Forward

His Assistant by Natasha L. Black

Sofia is desperate for a job that actually pays the bills. Her father is drowning in debt, and she's determined to help him however she can. Thanks to getting off on the wrong floor for an interview, she catches Dominic's attention instead. Before she knows it, she's interviewing for a position as his assistant—a job that no one has been able to keep for more than a few weeks.

Dominic is a successful CEO on the surface, but he has another side to his life that isn't exactly on the right side of the law. As Sofia gets pulled further into his world, their relationship develops into more than either of them expected.

The overall storyline follows a familiar path, so there weren't many surprises along the way, but I still found it to be an enjoyable read. What stood out most to me was that the relationship wasn't built on attraction alone. I liked seeing both Sofia and Dominic grow emotionally and learn to communicate with each other instead of relying on unnecessary drama.

My favorite quote perfectly captured that growth: "If we're going to build something real, then we can't be afraid to say the things that scare us."

If you're looking for a quick billionaire romance with some suspense, emotional character development, and a touch of danger, this one is worth picking up.

His Assistant is another amazing story in the Sinful Mafia Daddies series. I absolutely loved it and loved the characters. I could not put this one down.

Sofia is going on a job interview. She is trying to better herself and help her father who has too much debt. She is going to interview for an entry-level position when she takes the wrong floor on the elevator. There she meets Dominic who is a powerful billionaire CEO. He interviews her for his assistant and gives her the job.

Dominic is a controlling businessman who cannot keep an assistant. When he meets Sofia, he sees how intelligent she is. There is instant chemistry between them but he wants to keep her as his assistant. He also has a dangerous side and wants to keep Sofia away from that. But he is unable to resist the connection he has with her. This puts her as a target for his enemies. He then protects her and moves her into his home. When she becomes pregnant she has to decide what to do about the baby.

I loved how Sofia was such a strong person and instantly knew how to help Dominic when they met. She became a great asset to him and helped catch other people's errors. I loved how they had such instant chemistry. Their story is filled with suspense and tension. I look forward to the next story from this very talented author.

As the title implies, this book covers a lot of tropes. Dominic is the billionaire, mafia boss who owns a business that is mostly legitimate to cover his less legitimate business. He's older than Sofia, who he hires as his assistant. Their relationship is full of sexual tension from the start. She is naive about his real business and her father's debt issues.

Their relationship is full of boss/assistant tension with his knowledge that he should leave her alone because of the danger he brings. Before they know it, that target is firmly in place and she needs protection.

Sofia is a strong woman who doesn't just follow directions or cower in the corner. Some of her actions aren't smart and she causes problems for herself however, her actions make sense even though they may not be smart. I like this woman who is willing to stand up for herself and stand on her own two feet. Dominic wants to take care of her but he admires her strong spirit and feistiness.

This story is a good mix of sexual tension and heat, two people who really are meant to be together, interesting supporting characters, a mystery traitor, and danger.

I received an advance reader copy and this is my honest review.

As the title suggests, this book delivers plenty of popular tropes. Dominic is a powerful billionaire mafia boss whose legitimate businesses mask his darker dealings. When he hires the younger, innocent Sofia as his assistant, intense sexual tension sparks between them from day one.
Sofia is unaware of his criminal world and her father’s dangerous debts. Dominic knows he should stay away to keep her safe, but the pull is undeniable. Soon, she becomes a target and needs his protection.
Sofia is a strong, feisty heroine who refuses to cower or blindly follow orders. Though some of her choices create more problems, they feel authentic. Dominic respects her independent spirit even as he fights the urge to shield her.
The story balances steamy boss/assistant tension, genuine connection, loyal side characters, a traitor mystery, and high-stakes danger. A solid, entertaining read.

His Assistant is a nicely written Mafia romance that finds FMC
Sofa Bellini on her way to a job interview and getting off the elevator on the wrong floor.
She ends up in the middle of a mess after bumping into
Dominic Vieri whose staff is currently in a crisis mode with documents for a meeting.
Sofia helps set things to right and Dominic promptly hires her even though she wasn’t interviewing with his company.
A spicy age-gap romance will soon follow when the chemistry starts to heat up between them as time passes, and when they give in to it there will be consequences.
Enjoyed their story of danger, intrigue, mafia dynamics, surprises, emotion, passion, and family dynamics that leads into a satisfying HEA.

What a great story!

I am such a sucker for stories with the MFC,being in a very shaky financial situation, and is desperate for a job. This time, it's to save her father's garage. It's revealed to her jut how badly he is in debt, but to loan sharks. Then the MMC is a gorgeous, billionaire, who hires her on the spot, because she fixes a delicate inter office screw up, that could have been a disaster. Of course eventually they give in the the mutual attraction, and one thing leads to another. Sophia was a sassy, straight talker, with a quick mind for being assistant to Dominic. There is of course the fact that he's a business man up front, but a crime boss, behind the scenes. There is betrayal, and kidnapping, as a power grab happens. They do have a very good HEA ending. Part of "Sinful Mafia Daddies". When Sofia Bellini get off at the wrong floor on her way to a job interview, she has no way to predict how the course of her life has just changed. Suddenly, Dominic Vieri is right there and somehow he ends up hiring her as his personal assistant. To both their surprise, it turns out that Sofia is really good at her job, like really, really good. She catches mistakes the professionals miss, she organizes his schedule and has everything running smoothly. Dominic starts to count on her and value her as an employee and as something more as well. But Sofia and Dominic both know that anything that develops between them could be dangerous - since Dominic is much more that just a rich CEO. Good book !

A terrific story – mystery, suspense, romance – and a happy ending. Dominic is a wealthy mafia boss who also has legitimate businesses, and hires Sofia as his assistant after accidentally knocking into her when she came to interview for a junior position at his firm. She is young – and overwhelmed by the life and work that she has suddenly entered. The story has several supporting characters – Dominic’s number two, Rafe; Sofia’s father, a car repair shop owner in debt to the mafia; Sophia’s friend Maya, and Dominic’s sister, Chiara. It moves quickly through various twists and turns with an underlying Mafia conflict tying things together. Sofia and Dominic are smart, and she is emotional and warm. The Thin Line Between Protection and Love -
Holy Smokes! This story is definitely the whole package and it had me at the edge of my seat following Sofia and Dominic’s journey from their first meeting, through their ups and downs, until the end. I absolutely loved the story from the beginning and could stop reading once I started. The intense tension and sparks between Sofia and Dominic was pure fire and shone through on the pages, but combining it with the intensity, emotions, suspense, drama, betrayal, action-packed moments and sultry heat, made it a fantastic story to read. You will definitely enjoy reading this book just as much as I did.

4.5 stars! When Sofia was on her way to a job interview, she gets off on the wrong floor and steps into the world of Dominic Vieri. His staff is in a bit of a mess as they have a presentation to get through and the wrong information. Sofia is good at problem solving and assists in solving the issue. Dominic hires her on the spot as his assistant. This is not what she wanted but the amount he is willing to pay will allow her to help her father. There is something about Dominic that has Sopia drawn to him and vice versa. There is lots of chemistry and a storyline with a bit of everything a mafia romance should have as well as some good twists. Enjoy!

This story blooms with intense, sweeping emotion, Sofia’s accidental collision with Dominic Vieri feels like fate stepping in — the kind of moment that rewrites a life in an instant. Dominic’s presence is powerful, but it’s the quiet tenderness beneath his intensity that makes their connection feel irresistible. As danger closes in, the romance deepens into something protective, consuming, and beautifully inevitable. It’s a high‑stakes love story where passion becomes sanctuary, and two people discover that sometimes the most unexpected beginning leads to the truest kind of forever.

I liked how these two met, how good Sofia was at her job, how Dominic reacted to her, and how important she became to him. I enjoyed seeing Dominic trying to keep her out of one part of his world, how he strived to protect her and seeing her slowly become part of his whole world.

I believed in their connection and chemistry, felt for them both when things came between them, and I wanted to hug her as she dealt with her own family issues. I thought the characters were written well I liked the support they had from Maya and Rafe, and liked seeing them work through everything to get to their HEA.

Landing on the wrong floor proves to be beneficial for Sofia when she bumps into Dominic. Her quick thinking gets her noticed and the job of a lifetime. It also starts her path with Dominic because close proximity has sparks flying and a relationship developing in this action-packed mafia romance that had me connecting with the characters as I cheered them on to finding happiness. It is descriptive, well written along with likeable characters I enjoyed connecting with.

Electrifying from beginning to end! I enjoyed every second of it and couldn't stop devouring the pages. The push-and-pull between them had me completely hooked once again. Hired as his assistant, Sofia soon becomes more to Dominic Vieri.

Danger and so much drama, tension and a fine romance really escalates this story. I loved the dominant and take no prisoners Dominic who did tend to bully Sofia initially till she wraps him round her finger.

So well done. I really enjoyed the whole book, all the tension and surprises that came about. Loved it!.

I completely devoured His Assistant. I was hooked from page one until the very last page. Dominic Vieri was the ultimate alpha that fell hard and fast for Sophia, his newest assistant. Their chemistry was off the charts hot, Sophia becomes his accidental assistant after stepping on the wrong elevator and Dominic is quickly impressed when she steps up to solve a problem made by one of his staff. If you enjoy steamy mafia romance then I definitely recommend reading their story.

3/5

3/5. Easy read. ✨Also potential spoilers✨This relationship was kinda hard to believe. I feel like the first 30% was going somewhere good and then the pregnancy trope comes and then the rest of the book they are fighting and securing their safety. I would’ve preferred more of a slow burn and then at the 60-70% mark they can get into trouble. but maybe I’m just being picky!! Still, a fun quick mafia romance read.
