The content of the book is what should the girls (in this generation) must read. We have insecurities because of the effect of social media that causes us to define how boring/dull our life was, without knowing the in-depth of what is really happening behind these artists life. Solenn and Georgina also started from the very bottom, they work hard to reach what they have become today, its a matter of how you gain confidence within yourself, embracing your imperfection, surrounding yourself with good and trustworthy people, and be just simply happy and doesn't mind the negativities and bashes against you.

Excellent coffee table book. Best celebrity book that I have read. It's fun to read and contains nuggets of wisdom conveyed in the realest way. I like the way this was done, and that you can relate to them, like older sisters who've been there - done that and are giving advice to their younger sister. Inspiring.

This is a very brave move. I think this is a game changer for George and Solenn. They proved so many things about themselves in this book.

As someone who doesn't know the authors that well, it was a good book to know a little more about them. It was nice to be reminded that just like us, normal beings, celebrities or public figures experience what we also experience; that they're just like us afterall, just famous.

In 2015, this book was quite relevant.
I've seen many young girls pick up a book for the first time because of this. And this book was one of the pioneers of the celebrity book craze.

The duo probably need a follow up to this though as they're in a new chapter in their lives.

I've been eyeing this book as it was a strong reminder of me and my bestfriend. It was a fun read, honest conversations between Georgina and Solenn as they admit to the hardships of keeping it together in he industry but still balancing what makes them happy.

At first I was hesitant to buy this book when I saw it in Bestsellers because I thought it would be just purely about girly stuff like beauty and fashion. I’m not a big fan of such books, that’s why even though I like Solenn a lot, I ignored it.

But when my friend Laine said it’s actually a good book about self-confidence, friendship, and love, I decided to buy it the next day. Unfortunately, I couldn’t buy it on that day because I wasn’t feeling well. So I asked my sister Kath to buy it for me. Kath bought it and gave it to me and said it’s a fun read. She was right! I enjoyed reading this book! I was surprised when I found out that it’s more than a book about beauty and fashion.

Besties is a book by Solenn Heussaff and Georgina Wilson. It’s basically about their life experiences and their thoughts on topics about almost everything: self-confidence, fashion, beauty, diet and food, fitness, friendship, love, and even finance! This book proves that these It Girls are more than just pretty faces. Solenn is cool and seems fun to be with, while Georgina is brainy and practical. I was surprised to know that Georgina has a double major in accounting and finance! Wow!

The gorgeous authors said: “We started this book as a passion project, because we wanted to help others through our experiences — not to say we’re right or wrong, but to share what we went through.” They never expected it to have a great impact on the lives of girls and women. They just wanted to help us somehow cope up with our challenges and remind us to enjoy life with the people who matter the most.

For those who don’t know it, the word “besties” means best friends. Simply put, this book is about real life best friends Solenn (Sos) and Georgina (George).

I like this book because it’s easy and fun to read. It consists of nine chapters mostly written in dialogue format, with comic strips and pictures. Some of the comic strips are funny and some of the pictures are interesting. You’ll be amazed with how the powers of makeup and Photoshop transform these already beautiful women into insanely attractive models.

I’ve always thought that these women have easy lives just because they’re celebrities and I envied them for it. I was wrong. In fact, life is harder for them because almost everything about them is “scrutinized” by the public. When they make mistakes, people bash them online. Like it’s not okay for them to be humans just because they’re public figures. I literally cried when I read the mean comments of their haters because I remember receiving mean comments on the internet and feeling bad about it, too. I couldn’t believe that Sos and George received such comments about how they look (they look perfect to me!). Some people should realize that celebrities are human beings too like the rest of us and it’s never okay to write harsh comments for them via the worldwide web.

Anyway, you’ll probably adore this book if you’re a girl, whatever age you are now. It’s readable, inexpensive and has nice pictures and drawings. It’s important for every girl to own this book.

A memorable quote from the book: Express yourself, don’t repress yourself.

We are currently in the age where celebrities and bloggers don't just only blog or dominate the digital world, but they're also starting to make a mark in the publishing world. It's becoming quite a trend here in the Philippines and believe it or not, this marketing move is working.

Anyway, the first time I tried to read a celebrity or an influencer book was a disappointment. To be honest, I was afraid to read another one because I don't want to have the same experience. But Solenn & Georgina's book, Besties, was surprisingly entertaining but there's room for improvement.

As expected, there were styling tips, beauty or makeup tutorials, and the usual topics, we, girls look for in a self-help book. But the strong point of this book was its purpose of encouraging self-confidence. We often think that celebrities are perfect and we put them on a pedestal for it. We tend to forget that they are also humans: flawed with imperfections and insecurities. Solenn and Georgina were able to transparently show it in this book. Yes, in a no-holds-barred manner. I will never forget that chapter where they were only wearing bodysuits. They highlighted how they are usually edited in photos. They stripped off that photoshop magic thing going on and revealed what was underneath the surface. Hey, they're still beautiful but it just goes to show that they're no different from us. They also shared how they were bullied for these things and how it made them stronger through the years. Kudos to them for having the courage to embrace who they truly are, and that's exactly the message they were trying to convey.

Another interesting aspect of this book was how the authors shared a more personal side of them: their friendship and individuality. You can appreciate their different personalities, and how it's also reflected on how we see them from our standpoint. I guess, you can say there's no room for BS for these besties, and I believe, that's why they deserve the It Girls title. What you see is what you get from them and that's what makes the public love them. That's how they keep us intrigued because we feel that this is too good to be true but in fact, it is. Just check their social media pages.

As enjoyable as it may sound, I still felt that I'm looking for something different; something more compelling, something that will make this book different from the rest. It's still an inspiring read but I believe they could've been more thought-provoking. I mean, there was a creative opportunity to write a stronger and more empowering content but there might also be limitations from their end, well, publishing and management-wise. I can only assume.

But the good side here is, they can tackle more issues in the future if they're given the chance to write more books. Also, if they publish another one, I'm still interested in reading it, I mean, why not, right? This is a good start for them. Still a good job for the It Girls!

I'm such a sucker for celebrity books. So far I have Tado's, Ramon Bautista's, Lourd de Veyra's Bianca Gonzales', Cathy Gonzaga's, and then this written by Philippine "It-Girls" Solenn Heusaff and Georgina Wilson. Why do I buy them? Maybe because I want to believe that even artistas have something sensible to say, and reading their books proves it. A bit.

This book was thick so I was surprised that I finished it right away. Maybe because I didn't bother reading when things became too detailed. You'll know what their specialities are: the section for Make-up was particularly detailed and you'll know that Solenn really knows her stuff. Meanwhile, Finance was up Georgina's alley, and the fact that she was able to define "Credit" in a simple and clear way - and that financial term finally made sense to me after all these years was something that I appreciated. For topics that they're not really versed with, i.e. Travel and Food - they got their Siblings to contribute, Erwan for Food and George's sister for Travel.

Not sure if its becoming a trend in Celebrity books: it's like having someone giving you advice on things based from their own experiences - which probably makes the title of the book apt for the content.

However, I can help but feel that its PR for the both of them. As models and artistas, ordinary people tend to experience them through glossies, TV commericals and Social Media. People will put them in pedestals, and will bash them simply for being public personalities. In this book, they featured awkward teenager phase, sans-make-up, photoshopped and un-photoshopped versions of themselves. They discussed their stand and thoughts on things like Relationships, Sex and Friendship. The message that came across for me was: "Hey, we're people too. Don't box us in. We're just like you - albeit brought up with a Western Upbringing. We 're actually smart and we make sense. Whatever you see - it's us plus photoshop and make-up and good fashion sense we've developed throughout the years. "

It was a venue where they were able to share another side of themselves, and for someone like them who'll put out a book like this, you wouldn't help but hope that people will think differently the next time they see you on Billboards and on IG.

N.B. Giving it a two because I feel that the content was something I tend to read in other books. It left me with a "Ah okay- yun na yun?" after I finished it. I'm giving it a 5 for Miguel Lugtu's art direction though.

I read this because my mom bought it, but halfway through she got bored with it and stopped reading it just because the font was too small for her to read.

Another one of the Philippine-published books by famous people wherein they talk about life and love. Those two are the main foundations of all the Philippine-published books I read (you can search my shelves for the others). They offer life advice about friendship, family, money, and all that stuff. Love focuses on love and relationships.

The unique thing about this book is that it's written by two models. Stereotypes would think, "Oh, aren't they all beauty and no brains?" Of course not! They're people too and they learn too. In this book they share all their life and love experiences, and I gotta say I do learned a thing or two.

Solenn and Georgina are idolized by many girls here and abroad. They are very pretty and a lot of girls want to be as pretty as them.

In this book, these 2 gorgeous ladies tell us about their lives especially how to love ourselves and see the beauty in us.They have included a lot of their styles and their friends as well like Anne Curtis and etc. They have a lot of tips that we could try and experiment.

What i really like about the book is that they did not hesitate to show their imperfections and their struggles si if you want to know them more then buy the book.

This book is all about ladies and different process to womanhood. It is also a journal on how to improve yourself in different ways imaginable. I’ve seen countless of YouTube vidoes (no pun intended for the best beauty bloggers out there) but this book has exceeded them all. Why? Because they teach the readers how-to-do’s in the right way. I believe you’ve tried several–if not few–beauty and fashion tips.

This is basically a magazine. Highly entertaining one at that. Solenn and George knows their readers and what they would want to know. Art direction and photography were on point. Feels weird giving it anything higher than 3 stars though because I also gave that rating to some classic books. But, I guess, being what it is -- a sort of a celebrity self-help book, it actually did a good job. Tastefully done.

Not a thought provoking novel of the sort but a celebrity book that shines in its own right. It's about women supporting one another and sharing life advice from make-up, clothes, fitness to financial matters and friendship. Their book also sheds some light on how even the "It Girls" are just ordinary girls too. Fun and has a lot of useful lifestyle tips.

I am only buying this book because I admire Solenn Heussaff so much! This book is really worth its price. I find the chapters in Fitness and Beauty especially really helpful. I could only wish that they would have more visuals on how-to's in the Makeup chapter, considering that this is more of Solenn's expertise.

A nice, light read about basic but helpful ideas on self-confidence, fashion, beauty, diet, fitness, finance, travel, romance and friendship that will uplift and encourage women to be at their best, and to be bold enough to explore the world.

I personally love how graphically illustrated the pages are, and how Solenn and Georgina wrote a few chapters that play to their strengths.

I bought this self-help book yesterday 5.31.2015 and finished browsing it on the same day. They had some interesting topics that I marked so I can go back anytime. For me it was one of the best guide I've read so far.

I've enjoyed reading this book; I liked how Georgina and Solenn showed the younger generation that there are just humans, too. That they, too, have been bullied when they were young, and, I think that this is very important for those who are still trying to find out who they really are.
