This exciting sequel to Elevated features the return of all your favorite characters in a new mystery adventure.
Reader thoughts:I wanted more action and saving people. This book has plenty of running around secretly and solving mysteries, but it wasn't for me. 1, the mystery was easy to guess (the Catalyst killer! How does he do it?) 2, the characters were very careless (someone's gonna die? Let's wait and watch!). Actually, they were careless to the point of incompetence sometimes. They talked openly in public and such. The characters also were more irritated with each other than was necessary. They guilt-tripped their friends and accused each other of betrayal and said snarky things now and then. Not a lot, just enough to, well, to irritate me. Did I want to know the ending? Yes. Did I enjoy the book? Yes. Will I read the next? Probably not. It's just not what I want from a story.
Writer thoughts: DSK didn't market this book incorrectly; I just misinterpreted what the series would be about. I saw "powers" and thought action. The second cover implies more sneaking around than fighting (silhouette). The first just seems like fun and games.
