i should’ve known this was gonna be crazy when I read the dedication: "To everyone who looked at the twelve-foot skeleton and thought, “Hear me out.” 😭

honestly i didn’t really know what to expect going into this, but I definitely did NOT expect some of the things I read. 🤣 It’s such a quirky, completely unhinged little monster romance, and there were definitely some scenes where I just had to sit there and question everything LOL
The spicy scenes were… certainly creative. VERY creative. Orange pumpkin-spice flavored you know what 👀 and I’m still wondering how any of this works when this thing has no lips????? but okayyy 😆
It wasn’t necessarily a new favorite for me, but if you’re looking for something weird, ridiculous, spooky, and completely different, this definitely delivers
“Life is hard. People leave. Things don’t work out. Dreams don’t happen the way you planned. But every October, I get to believe in magic again, even if just for a little while.”
This novella has it all, spice, questionable decisions, the magic of fall, unexpected friendships, a crazy HOA lady, and a giant skeleton.
No Bones About It releases on 9/9/26 wherever you get your books from. It’s a quick read, perfect to put you in the fall mindset!
No Bones About It was an absolute blast in a (beer) glass. I’ve been wanting one of these skeletons for years, so this was essentially me cheering for our girl, Tori. I had anticipated a lighthearted, chaotic sentient romance, but I wasn’t prepared for the how much heart this story had. I thoroughly enjoyed the humor, the found family, and the heartwarming ending. “It’s hope, and that feels a lot like magic. For one night, people believe in things again. Not just ghosts and monsters. But wishes and possibilities."
I genuinely didn’t know how much I needed a Halloween romance about a woman, a twelve-foot skeleton, and the absolute chaos of an HOA until I read No Bones About It by Cassandra Elizzabeth. 🎃💀
This was such a fun, cozy, spicy, and unexpectedly sweet read. I loved how unapologetically Tori embraces her love for Halloween, especially after her divorce. Her finally getting the twelve-foot skeleton she’d wanted for years felt like such a satisfying new chapter moment for her. And I definitely related to that🖤
The whole story had such a warm autumn atmosphere that had me wanting to go Halloween decor shopping, drink pumpkin spice, and immediately start planning my own spooky setup. 🎃🍂
And BJ? 🥹💀 I was NOT prepared to become this emotionally invested in a twelve-foot skeleton. His relationship with Tori was surprisingly sweet, and I loved watching their connection grow. There’s something so charming about a romance that is completely ridiculous on paper but somehow manages to make you genuinely root for the couple.
I also loved the Spooky Bitches and the found-family aspect. 🖤 Watching Tori find her people, people who understood her love of Halloween and encouraged her instead of trying to change her, was one of my favorite parts.
And Cassandra’s writing had me highlighting SO much. The humor, the banter, the little moments of vulnerability… I was constantly smiling. And then we got to the spice. 👀💀
I never thought I’d say this, but that sentient 12-foot skeleton sex scenes had me feeling some type of way. Apparently, I’m a bone-afide believer. 💀
But what really surprised me was how much heart this story had. Beneath all the Halloween magic, HOA drama, romance, and spice, Tori is learning how to enjoy her life again, find her confidence, build her business, and let herself believe in a little magic. 🥹
And that message about Halloween being a time to believe in what could be? I absolutely loved that. 🎃✨
If you love Halloween, cozy spooky romances, found family, witty banter, monster romance, and a romance that is a little unconventional but still manages to give you ALL the feels, add this one to your October TBR.
I came for the twelve-foot skeleton.
I stayed because I was genuinely rooting for Tori and BJ. 🥹💀🖤

🎃🔥 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴! The little under themes of sisterhood & found family was the chef’s kiss. 💋 This short read is much more than meets the eye. 🔥🔥🔥 I run my fingers over it gently, applying pressure to try to move it back into alignment with its neighbors, but it doesn't budge. With a sigh of relief, I notice it seems to be from a slight manufacturing defect rather than from mishandling on my end. (๑>-<๑) "Don't worry, I'm a little broken, too. But I'm not taking you back. This is just so there's a little extra room for your heart. I know it would be just as big as you are," I say, patting the spot reassuringly. And I mean it. He is perfect to me.🔥🔥🔥
If you love the movie Hot Frosty with Lacey Chabert, where the female main character falls in love with a snowman, you'll love the vibes of this book! 🍂🎃
I thought this was a delightfully unhinged, spicy paranormal romance about embracing what makes you happy. Even with 100-degree summer heat outside, this delivered all the cozy autumn magic. Fresh off a separation from a toxic ex who constantly criticized her, the FMC decides to fully celebrate Halloween by buying something she always wanted, the viral 12-foot skeleton. She names him Mr. Bojangles, assembles him on the lawn, and naturally falls head-over-heels for the sentient skeleton while going to war with the neighborhood's nightmare HOA Karen.
I don't usually read sentient monster romances, but I thought this was so funny, addictive, and surprisingly bingeable. It was the ultimate cozy palate cleanser with playful Beauty and the Beast energy, capturing the pure joy of all things fall, and the surprising ending leaves you wanting even more from this world!

❀ Book Review of 'No Bones About It' by Cassandra Elizzabeth❀
❀ Genre: Halloween; Romance; Sentient Object
❀ Age Range: 18+
❀ Rating: ★★★★⯨/★★★★★
Fans self.* Phew, this book has me rethinking my Halloween decorations for the season. Who knew falling in love with the decor was so simple?
Our amazing female lead, photographer Tori Graves, decides what better way to rejoice parting ways with a spouse than to buy the one thing he forbid her from buying? Enter the male lead - Mr. Bonejangles as she calls him. A twelve-foot skeleton that is ALWAYS out of stock due to it being a viral decoration. Unfortunately, Tori leaves in an HOA area and their "HOA Queen", Lois, decides that it is atrocious and must be rid of at once. Now, our outstanding photographer must come up with a way to save him from being packed up. All while falling for him and him falling right back. Start wishing on pumpkins and black cats.
This short novel definitely brought me into the Season of Spooky just right. I loved diving into the story, feeling like I am right there next to Tori experiencing everything that she talks about. Her love for Halloween, her annoyance over Lois, and the overwhelming devotion towards Mr. Bonejangles and the friends she finds along the way. I will definitely recommend Cassandra Elizzabeth to anyone in the need of a good Halloween Romance novel...with a bit of skeleton attached.
Thank you Luna Literary for this Arc! Omg this book was so much fun! It definitely put me in the Halloween spirit . We have Tori fresh out of a divorce who just wants/needs this 12 foot skeleton of her dreams ! It started off pretty early with the spice as she didn’t know the skeleton was alive and watching her . Then obviously as it went on she found out and the spice just got spicer! I loved it! The HOA lady was so pressed about this skeleton being in the neighborhood. They called a whole meeting about it! Tori had unknowingly went viral for her post about helping to save her skeleton so a whole load of people came to back her up and she started having photoshoots there ! She is a photographer and filed paperwork saying the Skelton was a part of her business as a prop. The little community having her back was sweet . The Spooky Bitches were my favorite! How freaking cool are they! There were two times with a little twist with that dang HOA lady and i was like omg get her out of here! lol the ending was super cute ! I was so happy to see MR. Bonejangles comes to life as a human ! This was a super fast, eventful, spicy read! I definitely recommend ! I’ll probably read it again during actual Halloween!
Slightly difficult to rate. 5 stars for the wild entertainment, but I would have LOVED a dual pov. Especially after that epilogue! 🥹
But oh my gosh what a wild, fun, crazy, ride this was. After a divorce Tori gets to get the one thing she's always wanted to get for Halloween. One of those giant skeleton decorations. And she finally snags one after it being out of stock..but what she got was more than she ever could have expected. What any of us could have expected. 🤣 Everyone meet Mr. Bonejangles, or BJ for short. Not everyone's a fan though...Lois and the HOA. Why does it exist. I could never. 😆 But oh my gosh does Lois cross several lines...especially at the end. 😳
Dawn and the Spooky Bitches were fun. A big fan of Mr. Bonejangles and there to help Tori keep him safe from the HOA.
But yea things got heated fairly quickly. And omg when the spice got spicier, it got more creative and sweeter...tasting. 🤭 Look, we listen and don't judge.. Tori is living her best life now.
But seriously though, the epilogue! Ahh I desperately wanted more after that. Lol This was just simply a fun, spicy, quick read. Perfect for the fall season coming up.
Thank you Cassandra Elizzabeth and lunaliterary.management for the arc!🫶🏻
When I picked up “a halloween sentient object romance” I was not expecting anything more than smut with a 12 foot skeleton, but this book is so much more than sex with mold injected plastic. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting.
The smut? Excellent, charge your batteries!
The story? Accomplished so much in so few pages!
The characters? Honestly, absolutely lovable and relatable.
After a recent divorce Tori is ready to experience things that her ex-husband held her back from, it seems like it’s been a long time since Tori did things for herself.
In this silly, playful and fun story, we watch Tori get her power back, create a community, become successful, and probably for the first time in her life, really find her voice to fight for what she wants. With the confidence of a sentient object that is there for her in ways that her ex never was, Tori starts to figure out who she is and what she wants.
No Bones About It is smut with heart that deserves a spot on every woman's TBR that wants a little more.
Huge thanks to Luna Literary and Cassandra Elizzabeth for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
If I could rate this more than 5 stars I absolutely would. There aren't many arcs I will literally scream & cry about being accepted for, but this was absolutely one of them. A 12 foot skeleton from home depot & a newly divorced lady living it up and doing everything she couldn't? i'm so down. This was so sweet & wholesome, an entire town of spooky bitches coming together to support Tori against her shitty grinch of Halloween neighbour. Think Karen but make her a Lois. If you've ever been excited & anxious that somethings going to sell out the second it drops, before you get one-chapter one alone will have you on your toes. I had no business loving this as much as I did, I loved the oversized skeletons before this but NOW? This will be living rent free in my head long after Halloween & will be a reread for sure. CHEFS KISS? No, skeleton kiss!💋 Fuck you, Lois
It took me a little to figure out my rating. Even though this was a short read, I found myself getting bored at times.
I was so excited to read this, and I think that might have caused me to go in with expectations that were a little too high. I was expecting a fun, short, (slightly) weird, spicy Halloween romance. Instead, what it delivered was a book that had me questioning why HOAs even existed and a lot of behind-the-scenes scenes about having a successful small business.
I think I might have connected with the characters more if this book was dual POV. The way the story developed didn't always hold my attention, and at times, I felt like Tori was losing it a little. I think getting to see what was going on inside Bj's head could have helped me better understand their relationship and made it easier for me to connect with the story.
Overall, this one just wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it’s a great choice if you’re looking for a quick, short read.
Thank you Luna Literacy and Cassandra Elizzabeth for the ARC.
At first I was wary as the whole falling in love with inanimate objects come to life can go really bad or really good. But I applied to be an ARC reader because I liked the premise and I too am obsessed with the 12 foot skeletons and can't wait to get one when I have the space and ability. ANYWAY I LOVED THIS. Mr. Bonejangles was so sweet and attentive. The smut was well written and well within the realm of possibility even if the magic skeleton is not lol. The antagonist is incredibly realistic and you instantly hate her. I think everyone has come across one person like Lois who can't let anyone else have any fun and goes crazy when they lose or are denied what they want. I love the Spooky Bitches. I would have definitely joined them when I was in college. All together this is a very well done story about falling in love with your 12 foot skeleton and fighting those darn HOA crazies

Her marriage failed, so naturally she went to the Home Depot website and refreshed the page in desperation because she NEEDED that 12 foot skeleton that her ex would never let her buy. Real. She even made a playlist for the occasion. Again, real.
She’s obsessed with this skeleton. She’s talking to him out loud in front of all her neighbors. She’s also really into recycling. Major green flag on that front.
Defund the HOA
Okay I know this is supposed to be a silly book not taken seriously and for fun. And I can see that, and I enjoyed it, but the “spooky bitches” were a bit much because what do you mean you know everything, everyone, and are an expert in defending skeleton rights?
But yk what GOOD FOR HER FOR CHAMPIONING FOR WHIMSY. She’s right. The world needs more fun. And this book is just that. But at the end I still somehow found myself invested in them.
4.25⭐ This was such a fun way to kick off reading for the spooky season. Honestly, everything really is right there in the blurb. You are getting exactly what is advertised. I was truly shocked when I cried there a little bit riiiiiight at the end, because why on Earth would you cry at a 12 foot skeleton sentient object romance, right? Because even though it was ridiculous his wish made me tear up 😂 that's why
I felt like the first 60% really was just Tori fighting with Lois/the HOA and then the next 10% was her trying to figure out what the hell to do next, but the other 30% with BJ was fun. The time they spend together was pretty cute, the spice was creative though her solo run made me 👀😂 I wish there would have been less focus on Lois and more focus on her boning the skeleton (ha boning), but I'm not mad or disappointed. If you've got a few hours to kill and have ever once looked at a 12 foot skeleton and wanted to climb it, this is absolutely for you 😂
Yes! Spooky Bitches unite! 😉So here is a fun little read for the spooky season.
Sooo…if “Desperate Housewives” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas” had a baby, it would look something like this. 😉 I loved the small town drama, with the nosy neighbour trying to suck the fun out of literally everything. So ofcourse I really hated Lois (who wouldn’t), and loved Tori and Mr. Bonejangles (who everyone just calls BJ).
Their story is funny, cute and a little crazy (but honestly, best things in life are), and also a little sad. The way they communicate is just sweet and hilarious and had me giggling. I loved the story and how it was written, and that ending was absolutely lovely.
Personally, I prefer Cassandra’s yeti’s and mysterious neighbours over a 12 foot skeleton (not yucking any yums here, we all have different kinks and I love that we do.), but I really enjoyed the quirkiness of it all. It truly was a fun and lovely read to get in the mood for Halloween. 💜
Who needs a husband made of wicker when you can have a giant skeleton who bones you instead? Honestly, I’m starting to question why we ever settled for men made of flesh.
This was bonkers in the best possible way. I mean, what isn’t there to love about a sentient twelve-foot skelly?
Sentient-object romance lovers are going to thoroughly enjoy this one. We’ve got a skelly with light-up LED eyes and pumpkin spice flavoured… well, you know 💦. And apparently he knows exactly what to do with those giant fingers and hands. If you GET MEH!
This was such a short, pumpkin-spicy read with plenty of Halloween chaos, quirky romance and just the right amount of unhinged. Mr. Bonejangles, you have my heart.
Thanks to the author for letting me indulge in this book early and all opinions are my own.
If you love Halloween and you’re ready for spooky season, this book will have you feeling like Halloween has officially arrived! I definitely felt like I was right there in the book, sipping on some pumpkin spice! 😉🎃
This book has HOA drama for anyone who has ever had to suffer through one before! It also has a sisterhood that will have you wishing you could be part of the group. ❤️
The MFC is a strong 💪 woman who knows exactly what she wants and isn’t afraid to fight for it. And oh… did I mention it’s spicy? 😉🔥 Let’s just say you definitely won’t look at that big Halloween skeleton the same way again! 😂💀
The ending was absolutely perfect! ❤️
Cassandra, thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your ARC team. It was truly my pleasure! I really enjoyed this book and had such a fun time reading it. ❤️
Sometimes you just want to read a smutty, Halloween themed book and there's nothing wrong with that.
There were some parts where I was like Tori and Mr. Bonejangles are definitely going to get caught. Spoiler, they totally did. I mean you think having a tent in Tori's front yard is enough privacy for them to have sex?
There were some more heartfelt moments like when Tori was talking to Mr. Bonejangles about why she loves Halloween so much: “Life is hard. People leave. Things don't work out. Dreams don't happen the way you planned. But every October, I get to believe in magic again, even if just for a little while.”
The last chapter and the epilogue took me by surprise, but I'm glad it ended in a HEA.
Wow! Just wow! This was a short and sweet novella that gave me all the feels. Happy, angry, anxious, and spicy (hehe).
The author does such a wonderful job at giving Tori a voice of someone who can be like any one of us that is just trying to find the right path after starting over. She finds that path with a 12 foot skeleton, she loving calls BJ. With BJ ensues a fight with an evil “witch” from the HOA, Dawn.
Even with the ongoing battle, it’s the relationship with BJ or Mr. Bonejangles that really steals the show. There are definitely so delicious scenes between them, so be prepared.
Without saying too much more, take the time and read this novella, you won’t be disappointed. It really does put you in the spirit of Halloween. And who knows? Maybe you can find your own BJ?
This book is the perfect short story read for Halloween lovers and people who love to read about sentient objects.
I love a good sentient book and this one has all the fixings. To the romance brewing between Tori and BJ and the very creative spicy scenes 🥵 to the drama with the HOA, which let me tell you I ate that up, #I have a bone to pick with the HOA.
If you’re looking for a quick book to kick off the spooky season grab your kindle, your pumpkin spice latte, cozy blankets and layback and be ready to read to become a part of the spooky bitches club
#Bones over bylaws #big bone energy #skelly rights are human rights
This book was a perfect way to started my reading for today. This is a short novel that I literally ate up from the beginning to the very end. I have some quotes that I save from the book that I thought was so funny and cute . I felt bad for Tori because she just wants to have fun during her favorite holiday Halloween and she just wants a huge skeleton to have fun with. I love the ending that the author wrote.

I originally wasn't going to give this 5 stars (it was going to be like a 4 - 4.5), but then I got to the end and felt myself feeling all the feels. This book is EXACTLY what you think and so much more - I mean this in a good way!
This was my first sentient object romance and I went in with zero expectations. I laughed, I cringed, I gasped. Truly a ride I didn't think I would enjoy. But this book delivered exactly what it said it would. For that, I give it 5 stars.
"Most holidays are about being grateful for what you already have. Or asking for more stuff. But Halloween is different. Halloween is about imagining what could be."
With Halloween around the corner this book is throwing the spooky season doors open. Tori is divorced and looking to have fun on her favorite holiday, what's more fun than getting a 12 foot skeleton and dressing him up! How about sticking it to the HOA while we're at it? Join the Spooky Bitches and read a HEA Halloween tale.
I loved everything about this book! This story sucked me in and I read it all in one sitting! I love Mr. Bonejangles and the fight against the HOA. This story embodies the feeling of fall and Halloween and I’m so excited this was my first fall read! If this book isn’t on your fall TBR definitely add it now!
Wow! I didn’t expect a 12 foot skeleton to be so spicy! I was very fortunate to receive an ARC copy of this book. And I can tell you it did not disappoint! I was really rooting for Tori throughout this whole book and the fact that she was able to get everything she wanted from the very beginning was just fabulous. On the other hand, I feel like Lois needs a nice long stay in a padded room.
Who knew banging your sentient 12-foot skeleton could be so wholesome.
Honestly, I don't think I'll ever look at one the same again.
Also, inquiring minds want to know, is this a peen pocket situation? or does it just magically appear and disappear? Asking the hard hitting questions here.
I’m just here for the vibes. I laughed and had a great time. I didn’t take it too seriously or think on the logistics too hard. I however will never look at a 12ft skeleton the same again. 💀
If you’re interested in a good pallet cleanser or some fun creative smut definitely read it!
