Never Let Me Go...

Rate this book
What made Samar abandon everything he had --an Engineering degree and a drop dead gorgeous girlfriend - and flee to Goa instead to start life afresh?

On being kicked by life, harder than he could ever imagine, Samar had three options.

He could look life in the eye and fight back.
He could succumb and do something that would haunt him forever.
Or he could flee, to a place where there were no traces of the blow he had received.

So Goa it was. In search of solace, perhaps, by working in a small shack at an unknown beach.

Dealing with the local police, resurrecting a dying shack, and managing rowdy parties, risking having his bones and jaw-line broken, does Samar get what he was seeking?

A ride full of adventure, twists and thrills, the story of the twenty first year of Samar's life will definitely take your breath away.

Done! :) The book drove me mad. . ! Great Job! I'm glad somebody told me that the girl dies in the end. . Otherwise, Anyone like me who lives the book when reading it could have easily been impelled into depression. . for days. . ! Yes! I Mean my words, since the day the "kiss" tragedy took place in Samar's Life. . I was on a constant low. I'll have to read something light to get over the pain, Completely.

A very emotional love story. Seems so real for a fiction.
Story is basically based on how a strong love relation can end up shattered just because of a small misunderstanding and running away from any justification.
Story ends on a sad note, yet seems appropriate and wordly enough.

Its a simply written book; and you can read it at one go. The book starts like a cheesy love story, but the story takes such sharp turns that it keeps you hooked. And the ending is such a surprise. You can read the book just for the climax.

Never let me go... Never read something like this..

It is probably, the second book in the samar series, first being 'It's first love...Just like the last one!'.. It is the story of twenty first year of Samar's (the lead character) life..

The very concept of documenting each year of his life is very unique (atleast for me)..

Coming to the story.. Man, getting a 5 outta 5 is like an oscar award to an movie.. I rarely give 5, but this one deserved it..

A story full of adventure, love, twists, thrills and what not.. This is the first book which I completed in one go.. You cant just put this book down until you complete reading it. It demands the attention it needed..

A book which you will be reading again and again..

Is it really the author's autobiography? If yes, then my sympathies with him for having to go through what Samar went through. Otherwise its not my type and i cannot connect with the story well. Its an average read.

To begin with, this is the first book of Sachin garg which i read.
Well...the book was not bad really, and it was not bad only because it had a story in it. A story worth reading. but story is not the only aspect that makes a book hit.
I have only one complaint from the writer. He could have presented what he did in a way better way. Had his words been just a little more artistic, the book would have been a sure hit for me. But it was quite average.
If a book keeps you engaged with itself, its basically because of the words and only then the story.
There were times i wanted to skip through paragraphs, which is usually not a good sign. The book tried to keep a suspense in it but few parts were so draggy that i ended up reading the epilogue first. And then i continued with the story to why, what and who...
In the beginning of the book, as i read, i found the romance too cheesy and unrealistic. The entire Samar-kanika plot was boring until the tragedy stuck.
But later as i read, i noticed improvement in the use of words, the only character i really liked was Navya. She and Roy were the only 2 characters i found really worth reading.
The reason behind why the "Kiss" happened came as obvious to the readers and i knew it far before the climax.
Though the unexpected part was the death of the female protagonist. Abreak-up was expected but not this!
It felt as if i was reading another where the heroine dies and the hero cries.
I could feel that the writer has great potential and request him to write some book with dark humour or romantic comedy (again with better use of words)

All said and done, the book is not an epic. you can read once!

The story is too swallow. Two are in relationship. He sees her kiss his roommate and unable to digest the disgust he goes Goa just like that. After a series of disastrous pages, we are given that she didnt kiss his roomate as he thinks, she just had a mouth respiration for the treatment of her Ashtma from him. What the fuck!! Is this a story, yes it is. And it doesnt end here, she dies and he cries. Fuck off!!! His writing style is good, but where is the story boss?? There is one page I loved the most, it was when he took her to his room where he stuck all their messages in notes in the whole wall. It was romantic. But this book totally is a waste of time.

I read this book in just 3 hours skipping some chapters which are completely irrelevant, I think. After one particular incident you would desperately like to see what happened next. And the author took 10-12 chapters to reach to the 2nd stage. But I could not resist myself and skipped 8-10 chapters.

Overall it is good and one time read. Yes, you will be attached to the character and will feel sorry for them. Go ahead and read it. :)

I had read Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro few months back and then decided to try this. Not that I had great expectations. But sometimes one would like to watch a masala flick and if one is not a movie type why not settle for a book .... Sachin will not disappoint you here.

The writing was very ordinary the story lacked imagination but wtf it kept me going for a while.

Make sure you gargle your mouth with a decent book after this.. lest you indulge in more banality ...

I am confused with this book. I enjoyed reading but unlike others it didn't touch my heart. I couldn't fall in love with any of the characters. I bought this book seeing the good reviews everywhere. May be it was not my type of book.

But I appreciate that few chapters kept me glued to the book. Especially the Woodstock village and the challenges Samar faces there. Its a story too fictional to be true. overall it was fair time pass.

When I read it, I felt as if I was reading someone's diary. No introduction to characters. Just the story which seemed more like filmy to me. Just like in the movies. May be I had lot of expectations.

Nice story. Its starts as a normal as usual story and became very interesting and heart touching at the end. After reading half of the book, I read it out the remaining in a single sit. Nice love story.

There is not much meat in the story. A casual read and nothing more than average. A tale that we've seen, heard & read a 100 times.

Among the new breed of Indian authors the man who stood out was Chetan Bhagat going by his impeccable & original style of writing. But his last two books "Half Girlfriend" & "One Indian Girl" made me wonder whether this was the person whom I placed on the pedestal of remarkable Indian authors whose books we adored. Then fed up of the stale writing he had started delivering I started looking elsewhere & discovered Sachin Garg. I read two of his books "Never let me go" & "I am not twenty four.. I've been nineteen for five years". I was blown off because Sachin is like a breath of fresh air to Indian fiction. He narrates stories in his own style where a supposedly romantic story takes an unexpected twist into a dramatic one or vice-versa. His narrations will appeal to people of all ages & varied expectations. He is definitely an author to have in your collection.

Well, this just wasn't for me. SO DRY and emotionless. It took me over a year to rad this book of less than 300 pages. I know most of the world loved it, but in my opinion, not much happened and what did happen was as boring as watching paint dry. I was determined to see this one through because it was a prize winner. I'm happy for the people who liked it. But I need an emotion now and then if you aren't going to put any action into the book. I guess I have plebeian tastes, but I'm too old now to read books that don't thrill me.

I am absolutely in love with this book like wowwww I still remember I read it when I was 16 , I got it from a bookstore which used to sell used books and after reading it mistakenly I returned it and even forgot the name . Trust me it’s the worst feeling read a book that you loved and forgetting the name but finally now after 4 yrs i managed to find the name and immediately ordered it again to re-read it .

This is how much I loved the book , go on guys this book is definitely going to change you.
