Wrong Number

Rate this book
One text changed everything.

I meant to send a flirty photo to a stranger.

Instead, I sent it to him.

The man whose number no civilian should have.

He was supposed to delete the message.

Instead, he starts texting.

Watching.

Protecting.

Obsessing.

He knows where I work.

He knows where I live.

He knows things about me that no stranger should.

Every instinct tells me to run.

Every text reels me in more.

Because Gavriil Viktorov isn't just dangerous.

He's patient.

Possessive.

And once he decides I'm his...

Walking away isn't an option.

The worst part?

Someone wants him dead.

And the fastest way to destroy one of the most feared men in New York...

...is to take me first.

Wrong Number is a steamy dark Bratva romance featuring an obsessed antihero, a 35+ heroine, wrong-number texting, forced proximity, protective obsession, touch-her-and-die energy, slow-burn chemistry, and a guaranteed HEA.

You might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Gavriil sexy as all get out dangerous, ruthless, on a good day, deadly every day a sexy man with the last name of Viktorov so he isn’t a man you want on your radar, but he has enemies after him, his brothers so everyone is on high alert and out one evening doing recon he gets a texts from an unknown number a flirty text that throws him for a loop in the best way. Jane is smart, overworked dealing with a boss that doesn’t know what he is doing so everything falls on her, she is dealing with the loss of her mother sort of because her mother has early onset of dementia, she miss her mom tries to visit her but paying to keep her in a decent home is taking all of her income so she tries to take another job, and that job leads her to dialing the wrong number meeting the wrong man changing her path. The moment she meets the voice behind the wrong number the magnetic pull between them can’t be ignored no matter how hard she tried but the harder she tried the stronger the stronger the pull between them grew. The more he tried to stay away from her to keep her safe the more thoughts, dreams of her kept him distracted and distractions were deadly for them both his enemy knew how to get to him would be through him but will he be able to keep her safe, will she trust him enough to keep her safe, will he keep her mother safe, will she build a life with a man who has enemies after him, and can they find a form of happiness somewhere along the way of this wrong number surprise?

This was fun! Good Bratva vibes, suspense, a strong FMC, and just enough fluff to make it an easy read. ❤️

Jane is a 36 year old corporate cubicle girl who is looking for other ways to make some extra money to help take care of her mother with dementia. She finds an app where she can “work” as a text buddy and somehow ends up texting the wrong number… I’m still not entirely sure how that happened, but okay, we’ll go with it. 🤷‍♀️

The text gets accidentally sent to Gav, the second heir to the Pakhan and more of a Bratva enforcer? He’s a little suspicious at first, but that quickly turns into obsession, and then he is having her followed everywhere. When her life is in danger, Gav now must keep her safe.

I really liked the suspense and the Bratva politics, and Jane is a strong sassy FMC, which I always appreciate. I wish there had been more of the brotherhood/family dynamic. That’s one of my favorite things about Bratva “brotherhood” books, and while there was definitely some of it here, I wanted more.

The story felt a little two-dimensional at times, and unfortunately, I didn’t really feel the romantic connection between Jane and Gav. The spice was also pretty low and came more toward the end, so I definitely wouldn’t pick this one if you’re looking for a super spicy romance.

Overall, though? I had a good time.

If you’re here for the vibes — the vibes are good. ❤️

I picked up Wrong Number on a whim and ended up reading it in one sitting. The story hooked me right away with the accidental text premise, and the chemistry between the characters was impossible to resist. Their conversations felt natural and funny, and I loved watching their relationship grow from strangers to something much deeper.

There was a great mix of humor, romance, and emotional moments that kept me invested the whole time. The pacing was smooth, and I found myself smiling at so many of the interactions.

If you’re looking for a sweet, engaging romance with plenty of tension and heart, I highly recommend this one. Definitely a worthwhile read!.

A great combo of grit and romance

Absolutely loved this book. The way the characters are written is great, they are not indestructible gods, which is nice. They get hurt and are not still perfectly put together and polished is a nice change. Gavriil and Jane are amazing. She fights and she fights dirty, with no training she holds her own. The garage scene is my favorite! The banter between her and everyone is top notch. I really enjoy the way she gets under Gavriil's skin and just makes herself at home. Her quiting her job was also something that im pretty sure anyone who has ever had a shit boss dreams of! I can't wait for more!

I grabbed this because I liked the cover lol. But once I got into the story, I couldn’t put out down. Texting a number by mistake, and having them text back. More than once. Turning into a conversation by messages. I loved that these two were enjoying texting one another back and forth. Then to find out he’s watching you. Knows things no one else should know. Protecting you from a distance. This was such an intense story. I loved both of the main characters and the relationship that they built with one another. I just couldn’t put this one down until I was finished.

so good so so good

Loved it. Couldn’t put it down. I love having an FMC that isn’t in their early 20s. What got me though is the descriptions. This author knows the right way to describe emotions, describe fight scenes and describe what it’s like being poor, trapped in an office with bills piling up around your neck .. I could go on about this forever, but I’ll leave it at - this is a grown woman’s book. 100/10 and Maya Wren has been pushed into my top 3 authors with this book!

Okay!! Started off intresting but there wasn't any chemistry between the leads when they meet in person. There text exchanges were far more crackling than their face to face meeting. Tbh..it started going down after that only. The full blown war started in the middle of the book.. there wasn't much between the couple by that time.. one f+#k is nthng I guess.. and suddenly there was so much love and mine and touch her n die things happened which didn't even make sense to me!
Technically I DNFd it at 92% but it's okay I guess.. nothing was left to happen by the time.

There’s something to be said about a book that features the gruesome tendencies of MAFIA and mix in a dose of authentic comedy.

I LOVE mafia novels - arguably my favorite trope. However, it seems like most book these days are about “shock value” and seeing who can one-up the other. Wrong Number was a refreshing and HIGHLY needed palate cleanser!

MMC? Drool worthy.

FMC? Fiery, ADULT, and real. Not the least bit annoying.

AND THE BEST PART??! Everyone was over the age of 30. NO TEENAGERS TO BE FOUND!

Just make sure there’s a table set for Burt. He’ll take the chicken.

I highly recommend this book !

Gavrill and Jane what can I say !
The stalker meets his match. The love he has for Jane is so real. He tried so so hard to keep her from living in his life. But she absolutely loved it.

Cant wait for the next one !.

First for me from this author and I deffinately will read more ! It’s the usual mafia sagas but the characters dynamics made me laugh out loud from the beginning with their banter inbetween the seriousness of the story a definite read.

Eh

The texting was good. The rest was eh.

Honestly if you take the texting away this would have been a DNF. But the rest just didn’t do anything for me.

meh

It was good but it wasn’t great. More heat would’ve been nice, I did enjoy the banter. I do love how fierce Jane became but idk I was still left wanting.
