The second book in the saga of Caelen & Yvaine & it’s as good if not better than the first. Yvaine is torn between wanting to return to her adopted family & staying with Caelen. She’s taken to the home of Malcolm Morganach to marry him & so that two clans can form an alliance. Yvaine has no wish to marry Malcolm but when Caelen is threatened she agrees. But not everything is as it seems
What a saga this is turning out to be with clan feuds, jealousy, unrequited love, betrayal. Then there is the beautiful romance of Caelen & Yvaine as well as a lovely secondary romance. I was taken on a gamut of emotions from laughing to crying. There’s joy & heartache all wound together in a wonderful story. I can’t wait for part three

Riveting, captivating, legendary, and epic love story continues!
Book two of the Lass of Legend series by Bree Wolf has all the elements of a legendary epic tale. Think War and Peace, Dr. Zhivago, or any Shakespearian play, and you will get a taste of the emotion and feels that Bree Wolf creates in By the Grey Light of Morning. Masterfully written, Bree Wolf, story of forbidden love struggling to bring peace to warring Scottish clans inspires images of old Highland's castles, warriors in armor with clan colors on their capes, and secret lovers rendezvous in darken gardens. SIGH! Gene Kelly and Brigadoon step aside! Yvaine and Callen and the Fey Isles have you beat.
I love how Bree's storytelling not only entertains ; it makes me think! This series thus far as had many themes stated throughout the adventures, but the one that most intrigues me in By the Grey Light of Morning, is the question of how much of legends are true and how much is just a story to give people inspiration. Yet, as Yvaine comes to realize as she stands with Callen about to embark on building a new future, maybe it matters not if the legend is true, what matters is that the tale gives people hope and inspires them to persevere against all odds.
The continuing saga of Yvaine and Callen captured my imagination and kept me mesmerized for hours of entertainment. It was magical, and even the cliffhanger ending could not dampen my enthusiasm for this novel!

By The Grey Light of Morning. My fellow readers. Yavaine and Caelen continue the mission, and possible romance in the hopes of happiness for them selves. At the same time they fight to the death to bring peace and harmony for both of their clan members. I enjoyed the excitement of the intensifying action moments fro Yavaine, Caelen.
The moments that I enjoy is when they race across the Scottish lands to fight or prevent wars from breaking out among the people. The secrets and lies spreading around the Lairds in the castle basically provided all of the entertainment for the book. Something disastrous things happened to change the playing field for Yavaine and Caelen, but I believe that things will come around and happiness to the four friends. I enjoyed this second installment and I look forward to the next one. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review

This book is NOT a stand alone book it is two of three in a series. That being said it is both well written and spellbinding in that it carries the reader through time. The characters are well developed and some are easy to admire and the others not so. The reader must remember that the period that the story takes place is a different time with different circumstances and expectations. Both the hero and heroine hope for an end to a long standing feud and this book delves further into that hope. The hero is brave and capable of making hard choices and the heroine is his perfect example as well. The author places the reader within the lives of the characters and draws the reader into the drama. There are many twists and in the plot that keep the reader on the edge of their seat. I look forward to continuing the story.

Action-packed with some violence and a little Fey assistance. Not overpowering in violence but provides a good depiction of the strict and power-hungry leaders of the time while revealing the multifaceted personalities of some of the characters.
Bree Wolf takes you through the struggles of Yvaine and Caelen as they try to unsuccessfully reason with their warring clans, break wedding pacts, escape confinement and dungeons, and nearly lose their lives to begin a life of peace and love with their friends in a new clan of their making.

The Saga Continues!
As this part of the story unfolds, we get to see how the legend which Yvaine's 'Grandmother' used to tell her about a young lass with her name and soon Caelen becomes an important part of her life as they both fall in love.
In this part of the story we find there is a third clan being drawn into the picture with fathers trying to marry off their daughters and one of the Lairds not at all happy with being caught in the middle.
Just like the first story, this one is so well written that I was hardly aware of time passing and was really very keen to continue reading.
And now I am eager to begin the third and final episode of this intriguing saga.
I read an ARC (Advance Reader Copy) and my voluntary review is above.

As Yvaine has traveled into the past of her clan's history, her and Caelen's story continues in "By the Grey Light of Morning." I found it to be an exciting and fascinating story with a daring escape, bloody battle, deepening love, and so much more. Can seeking peace between the clans be successful, and will it change the course of history? What of Yvaine's history? Is a new beginning for Yvaine and Caelen possible? Will Yvaine ever be able to see the family who raised and loved her? I loved this continuing story! Can't wait to begin reading Book #3! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.

I was desperate to continue Yvaine’s story which started in Like the Break of Dawn. This book is just as compelling as the first, with Yvaine struggling to believe that her destiny and purpose are tied to a feud many centuries in the past. Torn between two worlds her heart is at war. Desperate to return home but rapidly falling in love with the hero of the legends her grandmother used to read to the Clan on dark winter evenings.
Note this book could be read without reading the first as there is enough information in the first chapter but readers will gain more enjoyment if they read the books in sequence.

This second book in the series picks up right where book 1 ended. The clans are battling to see which can make a more profitable alliance by forcing their young daughters to marry someone they have no desire to marry. Yvaine MacLeoir remains stoic and strong, insisting she will not wed the Laird of the Morganach clan while her heart longs for Caelen MacCarmaig, locked in her father’s dungeons. As the Lairds battle, their sons begin to see reason and hope for a peaceful alliance. This epic saga delineates how choices have consequences, sometime dire.

This is the second installment of the Lass of Legend series. I enjoyed this one even more than the first as it took us deeper into the forbidden love of Yvaine and Caelen. In this book, Yvaine is taken to the home of another Clan that her ruthless father wants to secure an alliance with through marriage. Yvaine protests but is made to capitulate once Caelen is threatened. Meanwhile, Caelen, aside from being heartsick, has other issues of his own to deal with. So much came together in this book, yet so much remains unanswered and unwritten. Can't wait to start the next!

Once again, Yvaine must face her beliefs which are sometimes at odds with her feelings for Caelen. We learn more about the legend Yvaine’s grandmother kept talking about within her clan back in the future. As this is only book two of the trilogy, there are still some unanswered questions. I am enjoying this series so far and eagerly awaiting the third book.

Outstanding!
Wow! I am overwhelmed. This series of books taking place in ancient Scotland is hands down Bree's best work to date. I have always been fascinated with time travel books and movies over the years and this series will stay with me for a long time. Bree writes stories that draw you into the plot and have you feeling like you're experiencing it first hand. This is a beautiful loves story and I highly recommend it.

This series is riveting! Yvaine and Caelen are a force to be reckoned with. The odds are always against them, yet they have faith in each other and their people who want to live in peace. The ancient legend and Yvaine's own heart give her a strength and resolve to see it through though her heart is broken by loss. I can hardly wait to read the third book to see how it all ends. All of this author's books are this good.

This is book two of a three book saga. After finishing the first book, I was left wanting to know what happened next. This book did not disappoint. The writing style is excellent. The story is well written. The characters are crafted to be people you want to win and to know more about. I still have unanswered questions and I am looking forward to the next book.

A magical, engaging story with great characters and storyline. Yvaine is a strong woman who has many decisions to make. Caelen stays by her side. Their love is precious. They try to bring peace but history does not reveal it. They also have hanging over their head if Yvaine will go back to her time. A new, peaceful clan is their hope.

I do not understand the author’s need to keep repeating again and again and again why the h is torn, or why she needs to return, or why the meaningless feud. It’s the same script over and over again since the first book! At least here the chills and shivers where kept to a minimum.
This book could have been portrayed in 20 chapters instead of 40+.

Interesting
This second book in the Lass of Legend moves quicker than the first book. Yvaine and Caelan make considerable progress compared to the "treading water" of book one. I'm excited to see what book 3 will bring.

Great story!
I loved this story because two people decided to be their own person. They together wanted peace, no more fighting. So they went through so much to get where they could be together and have a clan that wanted what they wanted, peace, live, family and safety.

I am not a fan of Time Travel Romance or cliffhangers, but I am a fan of Bree Wolf’s stories. The series has not disappointed so far and I am really enjoying it. It is full of action, adventures and romance. I am glad I am giving this series a try and can’t wait to see how it concludes!!

This is the second book in the series, continuing the time travel of Yvaine back to the time of her ancestors' feud that her grandmother told how the feud ended between the two clans.
She struggles with wanting to return home and fulfilling the destiny with Calaen to insure her future.
This is a wonderful read. I can't wait for the next one in the series.
