Wistoria #2

Wistoria and the Clash of Covens

Darkness has seized Wistoria.
Maddie, Jaxon, Brandon, and Lana are separated.
And another deadly battle is coming!

Barely escaping with their lives and Roy’s spell book, Maddie and Brandon find themselves in Pinecrest, Brandon’s home. Surrounded by his powerful shifter pack, the two friends are determined to gather new allies and develop a plan to retake Wistoria.

Shackled by the Breckam Curse, Lana and Jaxon have been captured along with the Wistoria coven. As the darkness within Jaxon grows, the two struggle to find hope in their circumstances. But Saph helps the group rally for one final stand.

With Roy’s dark powers increasing and now in total control of Wistoria, he has no intention of letting go. New alliances are developing, but these shifts in power prove to be deadly. Can the teens truly overthrow this evil? Or will their efforts crumble along with the last of their hope?

My writing journey began at the age of fifteen. I have self-published three YA/NA contemporary and fantasy books, and Wistoria is my fourth complete book. I currently live in San Diego with my husband and our two fur babies. I am always excited to hop on a plane, love lounging by the pool with my prized possession—Kindi the Kindle—and am currently in my fantasy book era!

What an epic conclusion to this feel good fantasy that still raises the stakes(and your blood pressure) as this incredible friend group gives literally everything to save Wistoria(and each other!)

I thought I loved this found family in book one, but book two brought more laughs, more narrow escapes, more sacrifice and more unconditional love. It thoroughly cemented this duology forever in my heart as one I’ll forever find comfort in.

I loved that each character had their part to play and their own inner turmoil to overcome. No one escaped unscathed, but while on their own journeys to self worth they also managed to cling to one another and help one another realize who they truly were, and what incredible strengths they truly possessed.

I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, even as the crazy antics of our crew had me rolling laughing, and helped to lighten the heaviness of the peril the town was in.

I’ll definitely be rereading and returning to Wistoria again and again because these characters are my friends, and I will throughly miss them.

Oh.my.gosh. I devoured these books. This book was AH-MA-ZING!! No spoilers but the ending was so satisfying, but that’s not to say no tears were shed because they definitely were. I am so sad that I’m done with the world of Wistoria. I would love another edition in which the chosen family come back together for new adventures. Please !!!

The fact that this duology is from an Indie Author is really cool. This book ranks right up there with the other fantasy books Ive read on the shelves of Barnes and Noble. Even better than a lot of them. Truly.

Wistoria and the Clash of the Covens was an amazing sequel that stepped confidently into its villain era.

More shifters. More inside scoop. More of everything I loved about the first book…and without giving away spoilers, I may or may not have happy danced at a few things that came to be.

The friendships grow, the group expands, and I got to step back into a world I’ve genuinely been missing since finishing book one.

Highly recommend this duology to readers who love a series that knows exactly what goodies to check off.

I picked this book up after Book One because our Indie Book club loved it and wanted to keep reading.

I am glad I did. The transition from Book One to this one was seamless. While I wasn't completely captivated with book one, book two sucked me in quickly. The characters grew on me more and the bond they continued to form in this book made it worth the read!

Its def a feel good YA fantasy, which is not my normal genre but it is one that I will def recommended to my daughter and other friends who are YA lovers!

NO SPOILERS but Courtney def delivers a satisfying ending to this duology.

Book 2 was way better!

This book was sooo much better than book 1. The darkness of it all got me. I was expecting a fun loving friends filled summer from the covers. But no, that truly was not the case!
If you love witches, vampires, shifters, betrayal, darkness, and found family, this series is most definitely for you!

YA Fantasy At Its Best!

I really enjoyed this YA Paranormal Fantasy by Courtney Martin. It reminded me of Scooby-Do, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Halloweentown. It had its feel-good moments and found family, but with an edge!
Read this book if you like:
-Epic Magical Battles
- Witches, Shifters, and Vampires
- Betrayals and Big Twists
- Great Queer Representation
- A Funny and Youthful Tone

I highly recommend this book and will be telling my students about it! This is book two, so make sure to check out the first in the duology, as well!

Such a fun and magical read! We’re back with all our favorite characters from book 1! The transition into book 2 was completely seamless. I loved the multiple POVs and all the twists along the way. Especially the unexpected betrayal and death that I definitely did NOT see coming!

And most importantly… there’s a dragon! 🐉❤️ The story had magic, adventure, surprises, and a HEA that made it all worth it. I was hooked from start to finish and absolutely loved getting back into this world. Definitely a must read if you enjoyed book 1!

Wistoria and the Clash of Covens sure was a wild ride!

It picked up right where Book 1 left off, with plenty of action from the start. Maddie had an interesting journey that wasn’t quite what I expected, but it was a beautiful conclusion to her role in the story.

There were some sad moments towards the end, but overall, it was a satisfying conclusion to a great duology. I really enjoyed the journey!

This was a great sequel to the first book in the duology! It was darker than book one and I am not complaining! This book was an intense journey of teenagers trying to save the town of Wistoria and let me tell you, it isn’t easy for them! I loved it!

I loved this book so much. My favorite thing about it is the incredible variety of characters and how each one has their own interests, fears, hopes, and, of course, voice. Watching them all come together to defeat the Big&Scary Evil was such a joy, and I loved every single one of them deeply.
I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys cozy small-town fantasy with some darker sides, but also plenty of humor, happy moments, and “butter” (aka Universal Fantasies, iykyk) magic sprinkled throughout.

4.5 - lol I finished this in less than 4 hours while traveling. Loved how everyone came together to defeat the dark magic in this!! This book continues to have the multiple POVs and great banter between the friend group. There was some unexpecting betrayal too which made the book that much better and not a cookie cutter paranormal YA. Such a great ending too with the broomsticks :’)

An epic finale to a fast-paced YA duology!

Wistoria and the Clash of Covens is the second book in a duology that is full of witches, shapeshifters, and vampires. The town has been overtaken by an evil witch who wants control over Wistoria. After the cliffhanger in Wistoria and the Transit of Venus, a group of teenagers need to work together to take Wistoria back.
Each character is undergoing their own conflicts, from struggling with self-belief to owning responsibility and the courage of leadership. There are twists and turns I couldn’t predict that kept me turning the pages. The individuality of the characters continues in this story, which makes the characters feel alive throughout.
The ending was fantastic! If you’re worried about all their stories not resolving, let me put that fear to rest. Everyone is accounted for, and everyone has a resolution that is unique to their stories.
If you enjoyed Wistoria and the Transit of Venus, you will love the Clash of Covens!

excellent small town fantasy read

This story was full of so many twists and turns! It was fun to watch all of the main characters find their way. I am so glad that I found this series and I’m sad that the journey is over. I definitely recommend this duo. It’s like coming home to reading.

ARC Review -
The entire ensemble of characters from the first book are back. The sequel picks up right where the first book leaves off. The situation is dire and doesn’t get much better anytime soon. All the drama and action from the first book continues through the sequel. Another exciting ride as the unlikely allies set aside their differences to defeat a common enemy. If you enjoyed the first book, the sequel won’t disappoint! Courtney Martin is an author to keep an eye on. I’m looking forward to more stories from her.

ARC Review -

I absolutely love this sequel. It’s an emotional roller coaster ride that picks up right where the first book leaves off in a cliff hanger. Thanks to Jaxon transporting Maddie and Brandon away with Roy's spell book, the town of Wistoria is not completely destroyed. But Jaxon and Lana are now trapped in the underground jails below Wistoria while Maddie and Brandon are now in Brandon's home of Pinecrest. The four friends have to dig deep to come up with a way to reunite to reclaim Wistoria, and drive Roy and the dark magic out of town. The Clash of Covens still focuses on Maddie, Jaxon, Brandon & Lana, but also allows other side characters like Saph, Julie and Evan to step up and help a lot more. Plus, we also get to meet Brandon's family.

Once I started reading this book, it was extremely hard to put it down because I had to find out what happens next. The twists and turns in the story line come fast and furious with each page. The Clash of Covens has heart breaking acts of betrayal, the introduction of a new deadly shadow army, an in-depth introduction to Brandon’s pack, new alliances are formed, more time traveling, lots of heart pounding battles, a vortex of death, and plenty of witch, shifter, vampire & ghost interactions. What more could one want from a supernatural story?

No spoilers here so you're going to have to read it yourself. Courtney Martin created an exciting conclusion to the Wistoria duology and I highly recommend it.
