KAYDEN

I almost fell for a Little Demon called Madelyn once—until she betrayed me and tore us apart.
I waited, I watched, I planned. Took me seven years to find my way back, and I’m ready for payback.

When I steal Madelyn’s diary—the one where she writes down her twistiest fantasies—I’m up to a good start. Or so I believe, because someone takes it from me. An anonymous shadow who knows too much. He tells me to stay away from Madelyn, or kiss my darkest secret goodbye.

But I won’t give my little demon’s stalker a free pass. I will find out who he is and take him down. I’ll do anything to protect Madelyn—even forget about my revenge plans. She’s my obsession. Mine. And I’ll make sure he gets that.

MADELYN

So, what if Kayden, the one who made me sin and almost ruined my life, is back? What if I lost my diary and gained a stalker who’s threatening me to expose it? Leaving me gifts and promising to make my wildest fantasies come true?
I’m a strong, independent woman who can resist her urges and fight back, all while keeping my heart intact.

Make You Mine is a dark masked stalker and forbidden romance. It is the second book in chronological order of the Hide and Seek duet, and it's set seven years after the events of Make You Beg. You don't need to read Make You Beg first to understand it, but it is recommended that you read it either before or after for a better understanding of the characters and their history. It has a HEA.

Make You Mine is the second book in the Hide and Seek duet. This ends in a HEA.

You have:
🖤Forbidden-stepsiblings
🖤Stalker Romance
🖤Touch her and ☠
🖤Triggers
🖤Masked man
🖤Breeding Kink
🖤Forced proximity
🖤Second chances
🖤Suspense
🖤Morally grey mmc
🖤HEA

Make You Mine can be read as a standalone. You don't need to read Make You Beg first to understand it, but I highly recommend you do so. This is set seven years after the events of Make You Beg. Maddie is a teacher and Kayden has been MIA the entire time, until now. This one is more darker, more grittier, than the prequel, but also more delicious and more suspenseful. My girl, Maddie, doesn't just have her stepbrother to look out for, but HIM. I absolutely devoured this and definitely had me hooked. If you haven't read Mia Goode, you really should!

Ohhhhhhh mannnnnn !! I am soooo glad that I had this one to read already because if I had to wait, it would kiss me. 7 years late and these two find themselves together again. There’s so much trauma and feelings and towards the end, some self healing too. A stalker who sends gifts and makes them do crazy things. A stepbrother who protects the woman he loves at all costs. And that ending !!! Finally being able to love out loud and be with the person who loves you with their whole heart. These two have been through so much together and they will forever be tied together. This was sooooo good and I cannot wait to see what you write next 💥

Thank you to the author, Mia Goode, for this ARC! 🫶🏼

This book picks up 7 years after the end of book 1 - Make You Beg. Madelyn is now a teacher and there is no surprise when Kayden shows back up.

But this time, Madelyn’s attention is split because she has a masked stalker who enjoys leaving her presents, reading her diary, and unaliving men who get close to her.

This one is darker than the first and I loved that it wasn’t a copy and paste of the first book!

Two scenes will live rent free in my head and here are clues to each: copy machine and knife 😏

Overall, this is a solid series. I def recommend to anyone who enjoys masked men, dark romance, bully romance, and/or IICYIFY. 🫶🏼

I enjoyed how this story played out. Years after the first book He walks in at the school she is teaching at and started to play games with her. She then finds out she had a stalker. I love it! Spicy and dark and all over the place.

I was lucky enough to be accepted onto Mia Goode’s ARC team for Make You Beg and Make You Mine, and after somehow missing the ARC release notification, I immediately grabbed both and binged them as soon as I realized.

And honestly? I am so glad I did. Maddy and Kayden were exactly the kind of messy, complicated dynamic I wanted. I'm reviewing them together.

Make You Beg was the perfect introduction to these two. The tension was delicious, the push and pull was addictive, and there was just enough beneath the surface to make me want to peel back every layer of their relationship. It’s short and sweet, but it still manages to give us complexity and depth in their character development. And of course, it left me wanting more.

Then Make You Mine came along and reminded me that I apparently know nothing because I was completely wrong about that plot twist. I had a whole theory in my head and got humbled quickly.

Kayden is broken. Like, beautifully, catastrophically broken, and I was completely invested in figuring out just how deep that darkness went. Spoiler, it's deep AF. Maddy, on the other hand, has this wholesome quality that makes the contrast between them even more compelling. Watching those two sides collide was easily one of my favorite parts of the story.

I will say, I wanted more from Maddy when it came to Kayden’s red flags. His behavior, his past, their time apart, and his confessions all felt like they deserved more questioning and confrontation from her. And as much as I love a man who is absolutely gone for his woman, Kayden needed to grovel harder. Give me the suffering. Give me the desperation. Make him work for it!

I also think Maddy’s journey into embracing her own darkness happened a little too quickly. I would have loved more gradual moments where she discovered that side of herself, because I think those stepping stones would have added even more depth to her character. A slower build toward her acceptance of Kayden’s darker truths would have made the eventual breakthrough and rekindling feel even more devastating and satisfying.

That said, I genuinely loved these books. The chemistry, the tension, the brokenness, the contrast between Maddy and Kayden, and the way their relationship constantly kept me wondering what the hell was going to happen next made this a really fun read.

Kayden and Maddy’s story continue in this book. This is seven years later after Kayden is sent away to Military School. I really wanted to get to know Maddy and Kayden all over again. This time around Kayden has grown up and is his own man. He escaped his father’s control and was able to grow into himself and man did he ever. A delicious specimen according to the ladies of the breakroom of the school. I love that he was able to gain something for himself even though he had to struggle and be homeless for a while to get there. I laughed when it introduced him as the new P.E. Teacher and Hockey Coach. He at least gets to be part of hockey in one way still. He is not entirely innocent though. He still has his darker side and is not always so sweet and kind.
Maddy has grown into a strong independent woman and I like her overall. I did feel that she could have reacted a little more maturely when Kayden reappeared in her life, but it is not a major thing. She still writes dirty things in her journal which gets stolen by Kayden then another. Maddy has not only her stepbrother obsessed and trying to own her, but she has also gained a stalker. The stalker gets ahold of her journal and feels it is a love letter to him, and he tries to make her dreams come true but in a dark way. The stalker does not take well to the fact Kayden also wants Maddy and this becomes a thriller to get to the bottom of the situation and then people are disappearing and fingers are being gifted, etc. This is quite a ride to be on and there is a huge twist in this story, and I had my suspicions and I was right. Let’s see if you can read the book and guess correctly. It is intense and dark and has some funny moments to it. This will conclude their story and there may be some due justice when things come to light. I loved the writing in this story and the realness of the characters. They suffer real life struggles and here you can see if love can conquer all or not.

💥🔑🌟⛓️Sorry, but what did I just read here?🤫😩🖤🫶🏻

After that first little teenage crush, I didn’t expect things to get this unhinged.

Don’t get me wrong-I’m into (almost) all kinds of questionable stuff-but in the end, what happened really gave me pause.

You’ll either love it or hate it because there really are some eye-popping moments in it.

Going back to the beginning. Our favorite stepbrother returns after seven years spent without Maddy, along with an extra character we only know as “HIM.” And he’s not messing around. At first, he’s the cutest stalker ever, until the game gets rough.
Man, I really enjoyed trying to figure it out-I was sure I’d guessed what was going on when my thoughts and suspicions took a completely different turn.

🫶🏻Our innocent little virgin Maddyn gets EVERYTHING she desires in the end, and let’s just agree that our little FMC isn’t craving flowers and chocolate-in fact, the 👋necklace is the most harmless item on her list of gifts, which is full of things even more exciting than “EXCITING.”

🖤Kayden, our little Kayden, is a grown man. He has two choices: either he protects her and lets Maddie go, or he gives in to his desires and ends up completely ruining her.
He’s got tattoos and is total bookboyfriend material—the kind of guy who’s cute in a true dark romance kind of way.

I’d also like to thank the author for letting me read this book and form an opinion before it was even published.💖

I recommend it to anyone who loves taboo romance with explosive spice, and is ready for the darkness-and maybe a few shining stars that, in their own way, light up the night, inspiring you not just to dream but to embrace your desires.
(Of course, within the bounds of common sense- no one should try to recreate the final scenes.)

This book is a continuation of Make You Beg and picks up seven years after the events at the end of that book. Kayden returns with one goal, to make Maddy pay for what she did to him. Maddy still remembers what Kayden did to her, so she is in no hurry to reacquaint herself with Kayden. She has a new life, new friends (even if none of them are boyfriends) and a career. But, Kayden forces his way into her life and is still working behind the scenes to make Maddy’s life difficult. When he steals something precious from Maddy he thinks he finally has all the ammunition he needs to win. However, a masked shadow inserts himself into the equation and Kayden realizes that all of the secrets he has kept hidden his entire life are about to become his worst nightmare. This book at times had me kicking my feet giggling and then other times thinking- what did I just read? It definitely pushes the boundaries, but that’s what dark romance is for. I kinda figured out the plot twist before it was revealed but it didn’t take away from how much I liked the book. The only thing I can say bad about the book really is that Maddy was way too “okay” with the outcome of things. She fought Kayden and his darkness the entire series and then in just a few pages, poof- it is all good. She just accepts everything as if it isn’t a big deal, and a lot of the things that happen are a HUGE deal. I still really loved the book!

An emotional, suspenseful, and perfect conclusion to Kayden and Maddy's story!

This book follows Kayden and Maddy seven years after the events of the first book, as they unexpectedly (or maybe not) reunite while working at the same school. It quickly becomes clear that nothing has changed between them! If anything, the attraction is stronger than ever.

My heart truly ached for Kayden when learning what he went through after escaping the military life his father tried to force upon him. But he eventually found his way back to the woman who was always there for him, even when they seemed to constantly “torment” each other.

While the sequel keeps us completely hooked on their emotional evolution, it also introduces a dark new element: a stalker, mostly referred to as “Him” throughout a large part of the story. Despite having my own theories, the author brilliantly keeps you guessing and fearing the impact this threat will have on the stepsiblings' relationship.

Just like the first book, there are several references to dark romance and smut books, which is such a delicious and fun detail!

Underneath the suspense and the spice, this book has a strong emotional side and handles mental health themes beautifully.

I highly recommend reading Make You Beg first, as it is crucial to fully understand the main characters and the events that led to everything happening seven years later.

Thank you so much Mia for this ARC!

The 2nd book in the Hide and Seek duet, and it was even more addicting then the first!

Amazing, i loved reading Kayden and Maddy's story!❤️🖤

Where the first book was all about 'the hunt', the pushing and pulling, and the forbidden desires,

This book is about giving in, if you want to or not, to the good and the bad!

A protective stepbrother, a gift giving stalker, and Maddy, right in the middle, thorn between both, unable to choose...
But did she have to, or was it never a choice?...

Because what happens when your mind wants something so bad, but also knows it will probably never have it? Could you controll the desire and not give in?

About 1/4 in, i had my ideas on who the stalker was, but half way in? I knew it for sure, i just knew it!! And it made the weak spot for him, becomming even weaker!

In this book, the storyline continues perfectly! It all made so much sense...
I almost read it in 1 go, couldn't put it down!

*where darkness collides, light will come in...
Even if your mind goes blanc, there is always that 1 bright star 😉 (or red puck, iykyk)*

Enjoy the 2nd book of Kayden and Maddy, and get to know the "unknown"stalker.

'Are you ready to give in?'

This was darker, twistier, and completely addictive.

Ohhhh man, I am SO glad I had this one ready because that ending (Book 1) would have destroyed me!

Seven years later, Maddy and Kayden are reunited, and all that unresolved tension is still very much there. I loved seeing how much they had both changed while still being completely unable to stay away from each other.

The darker tone worked so well here, especially with the stalker storyline adding suspense and plenty of “WHAT am I reading?!” moments. I had a blast trying to figure out the mystery, while Maddy and Kayden’s chemistry, protectiveness, and emotional growth kept me invested.

And that ending! After everything these two endured, seeing them finally choose each other and love each other openly was so satisfying.

I flew through this one and absolutely loved getting to experience their full story.

~~~~
A huge thank you to Mia Goode for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨
This book is set 7 years after the first and I think that was exactly what this duet needed. The character development that took place was spectacular. You could actually see that they were adults in book 2 instead of the around the same age as typical books will have. The forbidden love in this book is top tier because in the first book it’s just because they are step siblings right and in the second book having the added layer of the workplace and the fact that they are step siblings puts it over the top. Now I won’t give away any spoilers (we don’t do that here) but the spoiler at the end is AMAZING I definitely didn’t see it coming and I don’t think you will either. But it explains a lot with Kayden and it adds another layer to the book that makes everything seem more real. The spice was top tier as well like 🥵🥵🥵. Happy reading!!
Please read the trigger warnings this book might not be for you and that’s okay!
The second book in the series, it picks up 7 years after Kayden leaves. While this book answered some questions, I think the first book was my favorite of the two.
Maddy is a teacher now, and she hasn’t seen or heard from Kayden for 7 years. Until he shows up at the school she works at as the new PE teacher and hockey coach.
She’s thought she had moved on and forgotten about everything that had happened between them 7 years ago, but seeing him again? She remembers everything. And he remembers everything she did to him. But now someone else has their sights set on her- and they will stop at nothing to get her.
I had who the other person was figured out pretty quickly but it was still a good read. The spice level definitely increased and so did the drama level!
I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and I am writing this review voluntarily.
This is the second book in the duet and is set seven years after the first. Kayden is suddenly back in Madelyn’s life after turning up at her workplace as the newly appointed teacher—and somehow manages to become her roommate too. You could cut the tension between them with a knife, and honestly, it is completely delicious.
Only this time, Kayden isn’t the only one who has captured Madelyn’s attention. She also has a stalker who steals her diary and starts leaving her gifts. This book is much darker than the first, and I absolutely loved it! It was the perfect transition and added an entirely new level of suspense and intrigue.
I devoured this book straight after finishing the first, and it did not disappoint! The spicy scenes towards the end were written so perfectly that I genuinely could not put it down. I enjoyed every dark and twisted part of this book!
Make You Mine was the perfect conclusion to this duet! From the very beginning, I was completely hooked, and the suspense kept me guessing until the very end. Every time I thought I had the stalker's identity figured out, the story took another turn. I never saw that twist coming!
The mystery blended seamlessly with the romance, creating a story that was both emotional and impossible to put down. The tension was constant, and I found myself flying through the pages just to uncover the truth.
Mia Goode did an incredible job wrapping up the duet with a satisfying ending while delivering one of the most surprising plot twists I've read in a while. If you enjoy romantic suspense that keeps you guessing, this duet is absolutely worth the read.
Thank you Mia for the opportunity to ARC read this!💕
If you love stalkers, spice, step-siblings, masked men, and love triangles, then you’re going to want to read this duet!
This book picks up seven years after Make you Beg. Madelyn is happily teaching high school students and is forced to reconnect with Kayden when he shows up as the new gym teacher. Unfortunately she also has a stalker to deal with, along with mysterious notes & gifts that keep ending up on her desk..
This was such a fun conclusion to the hide and seek duet! The mystery, thrill, and plot twists were not what I expected and I was very pleased with how things played out between our main characters 🤣
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!
You get the step-brother trope AND the stalker trope all mixed into one!!
Make you Mine picks up 7 years after make you beg. Maddy is still unapologetically herself and refuses to change and you know what hell yeah girl!! We should all take a page from her book…or maybe just her diary 😉 and Kayden comes barreling back into her life. He’s even hotter now than in book one and he wastes no time jumping back in and teasing her again. Their will they won’t they back and forth had me on the edge of my seat. Then you introduce the stalker into the mix and everything went into overdrive.
The spice was absolutely phenomenal! The story was so fun with so many twists and turns. And the reveal of the stalker?!?!? I’m still shook!! I absolutely loved it!!!
This is an ARC review. Thank you to the author for gifting me the copy of this book.
Woo! I am so glad that I was able to just go right into this book after reading the first one. I will say, opening the book with a WTF moment like that? I felt like I was watching the first episode of the next season of a show and they went ahead and gave the viewers a great surprise right off the bat! I love the addition of the third character. It was nice to have a good love triangle in a book. But boy dia I struggle with my own want tor the masked stalker and Kayden. Mia takes good two tropes and not only dangles them in front of Madelyn, but also in front of the reader. It's mean, but brillian. this duet was great! I highly recommend it!
I highly recommend this duet!!
This was not it for me personally. I had to fight not to DNF. The “stalker” did not do a single thing “sweet” or “romantic “ the entire time. Yet the FMC was all feeling “sure he’s messed up but it’s still kind of romantic.” Girl what? Be so for real. I read a lot of dark romance and I’ve read books where the stalker did in fact do romantic things so the line would make sense. That is not the case for this book. I think the potential was there…but ultimately the plot “twist” wasn’t really twisting at all and I unfortunately just did not enjoy this read.
I wish the author all the best. And I love that I’m sure there are newer to the dark romance world readers out there that might enjoy this read more than I did.
“My heart wants what it wants. And right now, it’s torn between two men. One of them is my Jekyll, the other one my Hyde.” - Madelyn
Wow! This duet was so good. This book was stepsibling romance and stalker romance mixed into one. The tension Kayden and Maddy had for each other you could feel it coming off the page then factor in the stalker lord it was so good. The words just flowed off the pages and kept you on the edge of your seat. I can’t wait to see what Mia has in store for us next.
Thank you for allowing me to read this book pre-release as an ARC!
First of, I will preface, I did not read the first book going into this so it was a bit confusing, but all the pieces fell into place as needed.
I liked this book a lot! VERY SMUTTY!! If you like-masked men, smut, stepbrother tropes, this is the book for you!
Quick overview:
Maddy and Kayden are step siblings. There’s a history there somewhere and Kayden comes out of the blue and moves in with Maddy. Maddy has a diary that gets stolen and it has all her wildest fantasies in it. A stalker comes along, steals her diary, and leaves packages for her and helps her out. Not going to spoil it too much!
This book picks up where Make You Beg left off for Kayden and Maddie - seven years later. Kayden has not forgiven Maddie for betraying him, as he remembers it. They are now both teachers at the same school. He has planned his revenge but someone else is stalking her so he rethinks his plans and decides to protect her from this unknown person.
We get the stalker's POV and he is labeled as "Him". The plot twist in this book was a surprise for me and the reveal was a 🤯. I thought I knew who it was at different times in the book, but every time I was proven wrong.
Glad that Kayden and Maddie worked through their issues and was finally able to voice their feelings.
ARC review ❗️❗️❗️one of the best debut series I’ve ever come across!! Just like the first book, their story kept me wanting more after every page. I really enjoyed the mystery of the first half, and then the reveal of all the secrets near the end. I think this is great for readers who really love the found family trope. I love how Maddy was able to look past all the mistakes made, while also simultaneously choosing herself and recognizing what she wanted in the end. The epilogue went kinda crazy because while some parts were somewhat predictable while reading, I really didn’t expect that ending 💀🤣
Second book of the Duet Series. This book did not disappoint. Kayden and Maddy story continues seven years later. Watch your trigger warnings as there are sensitive subjects. This book Continues the story of Kayden and Maddy and their obsession with one another. There is so many twists and turns that I did not see coming. I was surprised in a good way. I could not put this book down as I needed to it all. This book is spicy in a good way.
Mia did an amazing job continuing this story and answering so many questions from the first book. I can not wait to see what other stories she comes up with .. Run and get your copy today..
ARC reader review:
I am so impressed by this book! I didn’t even realize it was a debut book. You’d never know. It has all the right details. The banter and spice is spot on. Who doesn’t love a masked man? I LOVED the twist with Kayden. It was definitely a surprise and I was guessing for awhile of who “HIM” was and then shortly before his identity was uncovered, I figured it out too. It has a pretty good HEA and I feel like maybe there could be another book based on the ending. I loveeeeee Madelyn and Kayden’s relationship though. It’s sooooo sweet.
Make You Mine
This book was an interesting, sweet, and hot-as-hell surprise. I loved it!
After years of not knowing anything about each other and living their own lives, their paths crossed again. And there's a new character in the picture who's definitely going to keep us on our toes.
They've been in love with each other for so long that it only made sense for them to fight for their love and help each other heal along the way.
I'm really glad I read this book.
Thank you so much for the ARC opportunity!
Thank you, Mia Goode, for the opportunity to red this ARC. I love a good dark taboo romance and read this within 1 day of starting. With this you not only have the stepbrother, but also a stalker, known as HIM, is added into the story. This book picks up 7 years after Make You Beg but it can be read as a standalone. Make You Beg gives you a little back story on Kayden and Madelyn. Make You Mine was the perfect conclusion to this duet! I recommend it to anyone who loves taboo romance with explosive spice.
7 years after Maddy and Kayden’s relationship falls apart, she is working as a HIghschool English teacher. With the start of the new school year there are always new teachers. This new gym teacher is a blast from her past. Kayden is back and this time he will do anything to get Maddy back, even deal with her stalker. When Maddy’s secret desires diary gets taken the fun begins. What fantasies will her stalker make true. This dark forbidden romance has twists and turns, and is perfect for fall. I had a great time reading this debut novel.
3.5/5 STARS - rounded up to 4
This book is a continuation of Make You Beg, which takes place 7 years before the events of this story and give you a background on Mady and Kayden's relationship.
But, in this book we have Mady who is not only drawn to her step brother, but also a masked stranger who keeps leaving her "special presents". Who will finally give Mady what she wants?
I will say, I wasn't expecting the ending we got. However, this was a fun read. I did enjoy it. This book is definitely darker than the first and I will say check your triggers before reading!
This was an ARC review but the opinins are my own
Here we are seven years later, and Maddy and Kayden’s story somehow got even darker. I loved seeing how much they had both changed while still being unable to stay away from each other.
The stalker added a whole new layer of suspense, with plenty of moments where i knew my therapist would be working overtime this week. I had a blast trying to figure out everything but the chemistry and emotional tension kept me hooked.
‼️‼️Spoilers‼️‼️
That ending?! After everything these two went through, seeing them finally choose each other was SO 💚💚💚💚💚
