★★★★★ A clever, thought provoking debut that sticks with you

I finished The Isindur Protocols: The Solari Ignition in two sittings and immediately wanted more.
From the opening chapters the story locks in: ancient protocols, a dangerous “ignition,” and a cast of characters who feel well thought out and real. The world-building is confident without ever slowing the pace. You get just enough of the Solari history and the political fractures to feel the weight of what’s at stake, then the plot keeps moving.
What impressed me most was the balance. The Verdians great evil characters that must to be defeated. There are big, high-stakes moments that land hard, but the quieter scenes—the shifting loyalties, the personal costs, the moral gray areas—carry just as much power.
If you like intelligent science fiction with genuine tension, political intrigue that matters, and characters you’ll still be thinking about the next day, this is an easy recommendation. A very strong start to what will become a great series.
Highly recommended.

I thought this book was going to be written in the usual sci-fi style, but I was pleasantly surprised by both the fast-moving storyline and the contrast between the fantasy and human elements. The main character is transported to another realm where, although he still appears to be human, he gains incredible strength and powers — but without donning a mask and cape! I loved it and am looking forward to the sequel.

I’ll be honest — So I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up this book but I absolutely loved it. I was quickly drawn into the story which was gripping and fast moving. Yes, there’s the futuristic and technological side of it, but it never felt like I needed to be a sci-fi expert to understand or enjoy it. Definitely worth a read! If I was a sci-fi reader, I’d have given it 5 stars!

A cracking sci-fi tale with the DNA of grit, technical competence and getting the job done. Great banter between people who put themselves on the line, have each other’s backs, and focus on the outcome. A thoroughly enjoyable read. Bring on book 2.
