A sexy, historical romance with plenty of drama, suspense and hot scenes.

Having been 'dry' long before Prohibition, locals living in Virginia, along the base of the Blue Ridge mountains, had a head start on the moonshine business. And when the country craved something to quench its thirst, the Tidewater bootleggers were ready.

In his small hometown in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Jackson Jarrett is known as a decorated war hero, a damn successful bootlegger and a man who never gives his heart to anyone. Personal tragedy and fighting on the front line in France have left Jackson scarred and hardened to the notion of falling in love until the traveling carnival with its colorful tents, exotic side shows and Charli Starfield, the beautiful and fearless motorcycle stunt rider, rolls into town.

A full-length standalone novel.

So I've always felt and have been told that I was born in the wrong decade(s) thus I'm a history nut! As soon as I saw the title I was fist pumping and SO unbelievably excited to get my hands on a book thrown back prohibition period .. #ThrowbackThursday. Tess Oliver did an OUTSTANDING job with the language as well as the context. I ACTUALLY felt like I was stepping into that era. After reading this novel by Tess Oliver .. I know for a fact there will be future reviews to come. It was five star worthy up until the ending as it seemed to be rushed and not end smoothly. Despite the fact that it wasn't five stars it still was meaningful and still stuck in my mind .. DAYS later. I won't forget this novel because I absolutely adored it! I highly recommend it because not only is it beautifully written it's action packed/ forbidden love/ and COME ON it's a THROWBACK .. you've heard the saying "oldie" but "goodie" (THIS APPLIES HERE).

Kindly provided with an ARC for an honest review..........
A refreshingly different story line !!!
This story for me was something new. I am a huge fan of Tess' work and was very excited to get stuck into this book, as it was something different from her usual genre.
I LOVED the idea of a travelling carnival, and our leading lady, what a gal !! A stunt women extraordinaire, Charli was tough yet loving. She needed to be to woo's, tame and win the heart of our heart broken hero. Jackson is a notorious bad boy playboy. It found it brilliant that it was set in the 20's, making the story that more edgy for its time !!
The dialogue had quite a few hilarious parts. Coupled with the thrills involved in the "bootlegging". The story had ton's of action and suspense all round.
Tess writes her characters so well that you literally fall into the story with the characters and feel as if you are part of the story !!!
A major thumbs up from me was that this story was a standalone......bless Tess for that !!
I would highly recommend this book to any reader who want a well developed story line. Soonworthy hero's, strong yet sweet heroines and all round gripping suspense and action !!!
Well done Tess !!
5 Stars and smugglers from me !!!

This was a very interesting book, it takes place in the 20s and is loaded with the adventures of a traveling carnival and the small town gangsters and moonshine traffickers. The Jarrett brothers are all brawn and irresistible to the all the local ladies. Jackson Jarrett is a bootlegger, war hero, smart, ladies man, and handsome, but he also had a devastating heartbreak when he was younger and has sworn to never let someone into his heart again, but then enters the enchantress in the traveling carnival and finally it is him that cannot resist loving Charli. There is lots of action, sarcastic humor back and forth between the characters, there is some heartbreak and devastating events and of course the bad guys and the character that makes some very bad choices that effect everyone. This book was a fun historical fiction book that takes you for a fun ride! Due to some content I recommend 18+.

I loved Charli she told it like it was and was blunt about things, "I’m just wondering what the odds are of meeting a man twice engaged in the same activity. Although, obviously with different partners.” I prodded Gypsy forward. He walked along next to us." I liked Jcakson he was a dirty talker and passionate, "not yet . It’s too far. I have to have you now. And before you protest, it’s your damn fault for being so effing— so effing effable." I enjoyed this book you couldn't tell it wasn't written in this century

What do you get when take a bootlegger from the Blue Ridge Mountains and add a circus performer called the Enchantress, a collision of course? Moonshine is a new offering from the brilliant mind of author Tess Oliver. This innovative, historical new adult romance is packed with heartache, action, drama and fulfillment galore. You will not be disappointed with this book at all. This is Charli and Jackson's happily ever after, that unfolds during the 1920's during the height of the Prohibition Era. The Roaring Twenties, a time when whiskey and moonshine was widespread, gangsters were a plenty and of course sparks fly between Ms. Oliver’s two main characters!

Jackson Jarrett found and lost love at an early age. His teenage sweetheart suffered a tragic and unforeseen death leaving him a broken man unable to share his heart with another. Charli Starfield only knew one life, the life of a traveling circus performer. When her mother's death occurred, she was left with her step-father Buck. When Charli and Jackson meet, an unknown bond begins to form, kindling a friendship and allowing for past hardships to heal.

Tess Oliver brings the 1920's to life and you feel transported through time while reading this book. When the villain attacks and loss is suffered, the couple harnesses their resources to overcome yet another hardship in their young lives. Jackson's brothers and Charli's circus family play significant roles in the outcome of the story. The various storylines all merge together at the end to create a splendid HEA for all involved.

Hero: Jackson Jarrett 4.5 stars
Heroine: Charli 4.5 stars
Steam: 4.5 stars

Cliffhanger: No

Would I recommend this book: Yes! This was really a great book and if you are looking for something different and with a unique twist, look no further...this is the book for you.

Would I recommend this author: Yes! When you can transport your reader to another place in time and have them feel they are part of that time then you have arrived as an author. Tess Oliver not only creates new and exciting venues for her stories but also develops characters that are in step with wherever she places them.

I received an ARC of this book to read and give an honest review.

Moonshine by Tess Oliver is a stand alone historical romance and I loved it. As with all of Tess Oliver's books the first chapter captivates you, and you will sit and read long after the time you are supposed to, as you will not want to put the book down until you finish.

This is the story about a a group of people living at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains in Virginia during prohibition. They had been making moonshine long before prohibition so when the country went dry the Tidewater bootleggers were all ready to make their money.

More than this however is the story of a tragedy that occurs at the beginning of the book and causes the main character Jackson Jarrett to leave and go fight in France; he returned a mature man, a decorated war hero, and he fit into the role of a great bootlegger, with his brothers to help him. Jackson was also known as the boy who never gave up his heart to anyone, due to personal tragedy and all the fighting on the front lines, it hardened his heart to love.

When the carnival comes to town, however things change for Jackson in the form of Charli Starfield. The adopted daughter of the carnival owner; she had taken her mother's place as the beautiful and fearless motorcycle stunt rider, after her mother dies doing the same thing. Charli is a beautiful, sweet, kind and caring young woman, and everyone loves her.

Take a ride with Charli and Jackson and the good and bad people of this small town, and watch how the power of greed and moonshine can corrupt so many, while the power of love can change a hardened man's life, and the road it takes to get to a good place in life!

This book in typical Tess fashion will have the plot twisting and turning so you will hold your breath in one minute and be enchanted by the power of love in the next. All of the characters are well developed and some you will love to hate, while others you will love to love. Most of all like I did, you will see the power of a community to take care of each other, through the hard times as well as the good times.

I loved this book and I gave it 5***** stars because it earned 5 stars, and I look forward to Jericho coming out next- The next Barringer Bros. book!

I have always been a huge fan of Tess Oliver and have not found one book of hers I totally disliked; but when she shared the news she was writing a historical romance I was skeptical and truthfully wasn't fully excited for it as her other novels. If anyone really knows me, I normally stay far away from historical romances, most bore me to tears and I just can't loose myself into them like I can with most books. Moonshine was a beautiful reminder that I should never judge a book by its genre. I am extremely happy I got the opportunity to read this because I would have missed out on a chance with connecting with the amazing characters of Moonshine. Out of all the characters the Tess has written, I connected with Charli the most. She is fiercely loyal and doesn't fill the need to be perfectly made up to win the heart of the local bad boy. She knows what her heart desires despite being young. Charli just wants to be loved and feel loved in return. Who is more perfect for her, than a man, Jackson, who has given up on love when he believed his soul mate died before they were old enough to experience life. He is a a gorgeous, generous, attentive, courageous and has a idea for business that far exceeds his years. The only slight fault is that at points this book reminded me of the movie Lawless because of the 3 brothers making moonshine and siding with a dangerous connection, but that is were the similarities end. I love the fact that Charli is part of a Circus and her stunts are amazingly brave. This book is definitely my top Tess book, so grab it whether you love historical romance or not! I hope we get to see more of Gideon *hint hint*

I should start by saying that this era is not typically my favorite. I tend to like private jets and Lambo's:) Since I love everything that TO writes I had to give this a go! She proved that even with Model T's and traveling shows that i could love a book set in 1921! I loved the carnies and all the different acts they performed. It was cool to go back in time and imagine life back then. Definitely not what I'm used to.

Jackson was he perfect lead. He had forever sworn off love and was not looking for a relationship anytime soon. He much preferred being the town womanizer. Until he met Charli. Who wouldn't fall for a motorcycle riding, death defying, opinionated, will stand up to whomever kind of girl!? She captured his attention from the very first glance. The story was so good. TO really made me feel like I was back in time living that life. The carnie life! Another great read by Tess Oliver!

Ms. Oliver never ceases to amaze me. Those rough around the edges men that make you melt with just their words? Yeah, she writes those guys.
And the girls are strong minded, not whiners, that go for what they want. Charli lives and works with a traveling carnival and her job is the toughest. Jackson is the ladies man, never giving his heart away again, he's a lover and fighter. Back from the war in France he and his brothers become bootleggers, which of course leads to trouble of all kinds. This could have been the typical run of the mill romance but she made it unique. A traveling carnival in the 20's with no detail left out regarding fashion, weapons, or cars. Enjoy this exciting adventure with the Jarrett boys and some carnival girls. Thanks to Tess for my copy so I could give this review.

Moonshine, by Tess Oliver, was a free kindle book I stumbled upon. In all fairness I wasn't sure how the book was going to turn out. Always a hit and miss with free downloads. But, I was surprised with the content and I found it very interesting. The story takes place in the early 20's. First time I think I've read a novel in that time period. (Crazy, right?) I enjoyed getting a glimpse into the "Roaring 20's" and enjoyed the glimpses into carnival life, which was popular during that time, and also of the making and distributing of moonshine. Which in this time period was illegal. I liked both Charli and Jackson and appreciated the story being told from dual POV's. There was also conflict with a gangster, which can never go well, and supporting characters who made the story even more rounded. I would be interested in reading more from this author at some point.

Full Rant

Y’all know I love me some new adult novels. Wanna know something else? I’m fascinated with the 1920’s. Prohibition and flappers and females begin to actually get rights. Now, a new adult novel with a swoon-worthy (broken yet laughing) bootlegger, a motorcycle-riding circus preforming main girl and murder. Oh, hell to the yes. Where do I sign? A slick as a snake gangster? Please. A five-foot-nothing girl who lets her python named Rusty wrap itself around her body. A family with secrets set aflame in tragedy. GIVE ME THE BOOK. Oh, wait. I read it. It’s you who needs to now. I don’t see you dragging your booty over to Amazon? Are you buying? Still need more convincing, huh. Well, I can do that. Please, oh no, make yourself comfortable. I’ve got a bunch to say.

COME ONE! COME ALL! To the carnival! See The Enchantress. What? The Death Ball Motorcycle Thing is DEADLY? *LE LARGE GASP* It has killed before? *EVEN BIGGER LE LARGE GASP* And he’s making (well, sort of) his step-daughter ride it after her mother had already been killed on it. Wait- hot broken boy who’s love died when he was 17? Flowers you say? Catch him in the act (if you know what I mean, the birds and the bees) you say? LOVE? Prohibitions and city slickers? Corn distilled whiskey? Pythons and strong men? War and romance? A WHOLE NEW WORLD?

Yes. Yes, there is all this. His name is Jackson and her name is Charli and they’re the best couple in new adult I think I have ever read. They’ve both suffered a great loss, but they mended themselves and laugh and love (sort of) and have family. Whether it is circus folk or brothers. This book. It hit so many things that I try to say but never can find the words too.

One- Family is more than blood, but not always greater than a love for material things. Whether it is money or the bottle of (goodness) SHOES! It could be shoes. Sometimes family isn’t everything. And sometimes that’s okay.

Two- It’s okay to love again. I think the biggest one for me here is Rose and Jackson. Rose’s husband died fighting in the war against Germany. And, as I mentioned before, Jackson’s love died leaping for flowers. But they love again. Goodness, they love again.

Three- It’s important to dream the dreams you dream. Like, please don’t stop dreaming. Whether you want to contrast the world with wood beams and bricks, or, I don’t know, find the place where your feet stay planted in the ground, dream.

Four- YAY FOR THE ACTUAL PORTRAYAL OF WOMEN IN THE TWENTIES. Fine, girlie, ride your motorcycle around the death sphere. That’s’ spell-biding and wicked cool. But- OH! Oh, noooo. No. No. No. Don’t you flash me that ankle of your’s. Is that your stomach? Goodness, Lordy. Darling, cover yourself! These fools made me laugh. Laughter of sadness and laugher of happiness. Because, y’all. Look how far we’ve come. I think that’s awesome.

So this book is the moon and the stars. Sorry this isn’t really a review. But I think it fits. Now, hurry on and go get yourself a copy, love. You can thank me later.

Later Gators,

Moonshine is a delightful historical romance that will whisk you away to prohibition era Virginia and have you caught up in Charli and Jackson’s unique love story. This couple had a great chemistry right from the start. Charli’s outspoken nature and the way she so easily handled Jackson’s flirtations made for some hilarious banter and plenty of tension. The push and pull between these two characters was electric and kept me reading to see how their story would play out. Throw in Charli’s eccentric circus family and Jackson’s moonshining business and there are plenty of interesting secondary characters to fill out this fictional world. I loved that Tess Oliver incorporated not one, but two settings beyond the mainstream, to tell this tale and I found myself hooked by the prohibition and circus storylines and how they intersected so seamlessly in this book.

Charli was a fun heroine to get to know. She was feisty, fearless, and part of an unconventional lifestyle that was fascinating to explore. A female motorcycle rider for the circus, she could hold her own with all manner of men, making her the perfect match for the charming playboy, Jackson. I enjoyed getting to know Charli’s backstory and appreciated how Tess Oliver included inklings for something more than a life on the road throughout the book, leading Charli towards Jackson as the story progressed. Jackson was definitely book boyfriend material. He was smart, attractive, funny, and driven with a swagger that definitely caught my attention. Even though we get to see Jackson’s heartbreak at the beginning of the story, I wished he had gotten into it a bit more extensively with Charli. I felt like their relationship needed a deeper emotional component in order to really sell me on their whirlwind romance.

Tess Oliver’s writing is vibrant and colorful, bringing the era to life from the pages. I could envision the sights, smells, and sounds of the fictional world she created and found myself instantly transported back in time. Having never read anything by this author before, I enjoyed her voice and ability to balance vocabulary authentic to the time with the fluid writing style of today – somehow making this period piece a relatable story. I enjoyed the added excitement of Jackson’s illicit activities as a moonshiner and the secretive world of gangsters he found himself involved in. As my one real issue with the story was the slower pace, I would have liked a bit more of that drama and excitement woven throughout the book in order to balance the leisurely build-up of events between Charli and Jackson. With Moonshine, Tess Oliver has written an entertaining and enchanting historical romance that proves just how timeless true love is.

Tess Oliver's Moonshine is a historical romance novel that takes place in the 1920's. After losing his first love in a horrible tragedy, Jackson Jarrett vows to never give his heart to anyone again. Years later, after dealing with more loss and the traumatic memories of his time in the war, this decorated veteran is known as the local playboy and successful bootlegger. When the traveling carnival comes into town, Charli immediately captures his attention and Jackson is in awe of the beautiful motorcycle riding stunt woman also known as The Enchantress. This handsome, smart and rugged man can't help but to fall for the sweet, caring, sarcastic Charli even knowing that her time in town will be short. Charli initially tries to fight her feelings for Jackson, not wanting it to end in heartbreak but even she can't resist the pull they have towards one another.

Overall, this was another great book by Tess Oliver. I absolutely love this author's attention to detail and the way she is able to suck the reader into her stories through descriptions and awesome character development. I am a very visual reader and am easily able to see and feel everything going on in her stories as if I was there. I loved Charli and Jackson, their connection and the intense chemistry between them. I enjoyed the secondary characters and the relationships that they formed as well! Lots of drama, suspense and obstacles made this a very interesting read. Great ending, would have loved an epilogue!!

There was so much right with Moonshine. I love historical romance, largely in part because there was something sweeter, intensely subtle and more romantic of the way courtships once where. I prefer the bodice rippers but this 20s themed love story was perfect.

Jackson is a bootlegger back from war and a devastating heartbreak. He’s become the town rake after vowing to never love again. With the help of his brothers, Gideon and Bhodi, he makes a deal with the town gangster to make his bootlegging business more profitable.

Charli has grown up with the carnival. After the tragic loss of her mother during a stunt gone wrong, she’s left without much. In order to earn her keep, she take up as a stunt rider. She’s never in one place long enough to give her heart away but dreams of planting roots. Her loyalty to her carnie family keeps her dream, as exactly that…a dream. Until she meets Jackson.

Gambling, gangsters, moonshine, speakeasies, crank cars, shootings, fights, crooked cops, crooked politicians, murder, love, loss, suspense…Moonshine has it all.

I kind of wanted a little bit more of everything. I bit of a push in spots of the story. But I loved both Jackson and Charli. Jackson was a no nonsense kind of guy. He goes after what he wants, including Charli, even when things may stand in the way. Charli is fearless and just plain kickass. Reading Moonshine was like stepping back in time and was a great read from first page all the way to the last.

Carnies, carnies, and more carnies. Step right up, I mean back into 1921, where the traveling side shows entertainer the masses. From the Enchantress and her death sphere, to a snake charmer, show riders, and burlesque, little else is needed for a good time. Well maybe a few cases of white lightening, dancing, and gambling. It's the 20's after all.
 photo tumblr_mepo227KPT1qhpqtqo1_400.gif
Charli and Jackson were adorable together. Gideon and Rose made for a great couple, too.
I don't read historical romance so this was new to me, but TO kept me sucked in, to a slower time with crank start cars and flapper dresses.
Another great example of TO's abilities to write anything and make it work.

A shot of Shine and a big hunk of yummy(named JJ) sure can satisfy a craving. Talk about a delicious surprise. If I have ever needed a higher rating then 5, this is it. I was/am absolutely in shock. Not because of the rating, that is to be expected with this author. I just keep saying how does it happen? How can u write and produce better than the release before?
This is one of those reads that really can not be described in a few sentence review. I can try to explain how this storyline is simply amazing. How it is so perfectly written. So unique and original. The research and descriptive wording creating such a realistic feel. I was up close and personal. Mentally and physically drawn into this magnificent journey. Oh what a love story! A complete emotional avalanche. I was so overwhelmed. I might have been able to handle the emotions,if I hadn't falling so crazy in love with each character. There are good-bad guys, sweet-feisty gals, corrupt-honest businessmen, etc..but each one is attachable. I didn't like them all but I mostly certainly respected their placement. I could recognize the hardships and decisions. The connection and similarities between groups and individual.
It is impossible to express my recommendation for this standalone. You definitely want to add this magnificent read to your library. AndreaGAH

Moonshine by Tess Oliver is a historical romance. This isn't a genre that I generally gravitate to, but I'll certainly not be shy about 1 clicking historical romance in the future after reading this. It was a really enjoyable read.

Moonshine is set in the 1920's and I have to say that Tess really set the picture. Her attention to detail was spot on and I found it really easy to absorb myself in the time and setting potrayed.

As always, Tess brought us really solid characters and I loved Charli and Jackson and felt their chemistry was more than believable. But as always the supporting characters were just as strong and really helped build the story.

Moonshine was more than a romance, it was full of drama and the plot was steady and paced really well. Romance, drama, suspense, family, good guys and bad guys - we were treated to a full spectrum that resulted in a great little read.

Moonshine is a stand alone book that ends with a HEA. I'd be more than happy to recommend this book.

This historical romance by Tess Oliver was Outstanding! I was given an ARC for my honest review.

The story is set in the 1920's and with Tess's amazing writing skills, I actually felt like I was there - experiencing the story with the characters as it unfolded.

Jackson Jarrett is a bad boy and along with his 2 brothers are bootleggers. After losing his one true love at a very young age, Jackson vows to be a bachelor till the day he dies.

Charli "The Enchantress" is in a traveling circus that comes to town. She is the beautiful motorcycle stunt driver who captures Jackson's heart. She knows that her time in town will be brief, so he ties to deny he attraction that they have for each other to protect herself.

I loved following Jackson & Charli on their journey to true love ... hopefully we will see more of the other Jarrett brothers!!!

I don't usually read historical type fiction, but being a fan of the era this takes place in, I could see the book play out like a movie in my head. I didn't feel like I was reading a historical fiction, it almost felt like the prohibition met modern times, although the scenes play out like the old world, it was easy to follow.

The death sphere and carnival goers had me smiling and flipping the pages. Keeping our female heroine strong as Tess always does, with a strength that makes me feel, I can do everything she is doing. And dreaming of my very own Jackson Jarrett.

Once Starfield's carnival made its way into the little town, you held your breath as a dirty, back handed, middle man made his way into the scene. Will the Jarrett brothers make it out? As well as how will this end for all, had me flipping pages til the end.

This was an interesting read for me. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it.

I figured since I loved the movie “Lawless” I’d give this book a try. I think that might have been my downfall with this book. I saw too many similarities between the book and the movie that I was never able to completely separate the two in my mind. Unfortunately, this time, the book fell short of ever getting really good. Good plot idea, ok characters but they never really seemed to develop completely for me, and a horribly abrupt ending, kind of killed it for me.

I wouldn’t recommend this book to some of my more serious readers friends because I think they would probably find issues with some of the same things I did. For the more casual readers, I would say, pick it up and just simply enjoy it.

I really liked it!! I just have a weak for books that involve the circus. This book was the first (historical) book I have read that involved moonshining. The only thing that was missing was an epilogue. I am a sucker for epilogues love reading about how the characters are doing a couple of years down the road.

Now what I thought of the characters, I really liked that Charli was independent (how awesome is it that she is a motorcycle stunt rider!!). Jackson was quite the ladies man but wasn't an asshole manwhore. He was interested in Charli and made sure she knew it. If you are looking for a different kind of (historical) sweet romance story, then Moonshine is definitely a book you will enjoy.

Everything this author writes is spectacular. This story is set in the early 1920's when bootlegging and traveling show carnivals were at their prime. I loved everything about the many characters and the story kept me glued until the end. If you loved Water for Elephants than you'll love this story even more because I did. Who doesn't love carnies, car chases, gun battles and so much more? Tess Oliver brings to life everything that happens in this time period and makes you feel that you are right there beside the characters. This story should be made into a movie with all the action packed scenes and details that is written into the storyline. Love this incredible story!

*** ARC provided by the Author in return for an honest review***
Tess has once again found a way to take a thrilling story and place it in an unique setting. Moonshine is set in the 1920's where the charming Jackson meets and starts to fall for Charli, a carnival worker. Charli was such a great heroine. She spoke her mind, was tough, yet still showed vulnerability which made her even more likable. She of course never stood a chance at resisting the equally intriguing Jackson, especially with all his dirty talk. This book really had it all including moments of conflict, heartache, passion, and romance. I enjoyed this book from beginning to very end.

After reading the blurb about this story where it is set in the era of moonshiners and traveling carnival shows, I knew I wanted to read it.
Tess Oliver created a world of interesting characters who truly belonged in that era, Strongmen, tattooed ladies, snake charmers, daredevil stunt riders all under the big top. I really felt the pull of the Carnival and wished I was there in person, taking it all in.
The characters were full of heart, they felt to me like they had lived real lives with real sorrow and real pain and knew what it meant to love deeply.

I will definitely pick up more books by Tess Oliver.

ARC for an honest review!

I don't normally read these kind of books because I really like to stay in the 21 century when reading but Tess made it so easy to read this book. You can see two loves in this book even if just one is in the center of it all. For a second there at the end I wanted to demand a second book but Tess gave me what I wanted at the end.

I don't have to mention that I loved this guy, do I? I mean, five stars speak for themselves. Tess has a busy imagination and I am so glad for it. These guys of hers keep making me grin like a lunatic. :D

4.5 stars. I enjoyed the fact that the story begins before WWI, loved the period in which the story is set. Good characters, interesting action with a little suspense, and my favorite, a strong willed heroine. I feel the ending was a bit abrupt and I must say around 95%, I was thinking I would have to read another book to get the ending. I just couldn't see how the author was going to wrap it all up, but she did, quickly. I would like to read more of what the future holds for Jackson and Charli.

Loved It! Set during the Prohibition in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I loved the setting and descriptions of the carnies. All the characters were very developed and interesting.
Each of the characters have had their fare share of tragedies...fun seeing the relationships develop.
Jarret is a bootlegger and Charli is "The Enchantress" with the traveling carnivaland the story is told from both of their points of view!
