It's a Sunday morning. The first Sunday morning of 2009. I've been up for hours, turning page after page of this volume of three sexy and romantic short stories. And naturally, I wanted to share my progress with you, my dear GoodReaders. But first, I want to interject a sidebar, as I am wont to do.

My first webstop this morning was Tadpole's review of Waiting for the Barbarians, and I must say that it makes me feel a little silly. Here I am in one part of the world, reading erotica, while one of my newest GoodReader friends expounds intellectual a few hundred miles away from me. One of us is going to make the world a better place, and the other of us is me. So thanks for the great review, Not-Quite-Ghandi. My interest is piqued. Maybe I'll read Pope John Paul II's book next...

But getting back to my reason for logging on this morning... Sex.
Yay, yay, yay, sex! I love sex! (And so do you--don't even try acting like you don't.) I purchased this book because I wanted to read some steamy sex scenes. But what I was presented with in Thigh High was a bit of a surprise--these are love stories! O_o

Yeah, love stories. Honestly, that confused the hell out of me. It's three little romantic chick flicks with bonus cunnilingus. (By the way, the word "cunnilingus" is not found in my computer's spell check. WTF?) Three little Cinderella stories, complete with boning in the backseat of the pumpkin carriage (and on the kitchen table, a swing in the woods, in an alcove of a crowded room...). At first, I was like, "What? They're getting married? They just met two days ago." But by the final story I couldn't wait for the proposal! They're all very silly stories, as erotica often is, but there's something sweet about them them, too.

My review

Refreshing read.

A shy divorcee who is attracted to her neighbor? Kat is attracted to her neighbor Taye, but afraid to say anything to him about it, until her friend gives him an ultimatum, to make her move or she was going to.
After they finally get together, sexually Kat is confused on where to take it next. She loves having sex with Taye, but is unsure if that is all it it.. Will they end up finding what they both want?

This book was a light read and very enjoyable, a definite breath of fresh air from the normal intensity I have found in a lot of books lately. It had enough steam, very likable characters and as the story goes on you are rooting for a HEA between Kat and Taye.

Hmm... So, there are two...catalysts (I think that's the right word) in this story. The first is when Kat's man-eating friend Celia challenges her to get their possibly sexy neighbor naked by the weekend. Kat's had her eye on Taye for a while. If she loses the bet and Celia sinks her claws in him, Kat knows there's no way Taye would ever be interested in her. Or so she believes.

The second catalyst is when Taye accidentally receives a box with black fishnet thigh highs and a double-headed dildo that were meant for his oh-so-sweet neighbor Kat. The dildo, he finds out, isn't for her but the thigh highs are. He has a thing for them and an urgent need to see them on her. With stilettos. *grins*

Okay. Now, truthfully, I thought this was going to be a fast read with almost 75-90% of the book covering Taye and Kat's bedroom adventures. But it wasn't. There was honest to God attraction between them. And there were emotions too. I mean, their hearts were just as invested as their bodies which made their separation more painful than I anticipated. Mind you, it was because Kat mumbled about winning that stupid bet and Taye assuming instead of asking, but still. The fact that they were both hurting and angry and emotional meant what they shared was more than physical.

I liked this story. It wasn't just sex. It was a relationship, heart and mind, body and, hopefully, soul. It's short, fast-paced, but there is depth to Taye and Kat I wasn't expecting. Well done, Ms. Edwards. I hope to read more of what you have written and will write.

Received from My Family's Heart for an honest review

I'll give this anthology a 3.5-4. Going from not completely fulfilling to great. I really could do with some more Perdition House stories!!!;-D

Kat and Taye are neighbours, and whilst both like each other they are untimatly too shy to do anything about it. That is until Kat's friend challenges her to get him naked by the end of the weekend or she would go after him instead. Not one to let go a challenge or the man she likes, she accepts.

This was another quick sexy read from Bonnie, and loved the chemistry between Kat and Taye

Well, the first story was okay, the second was adorable, and the third I didn't finish. The weird parts were that the stories were all over the place with weird plot lines or weird characters and not much development of anything, even for a short story. Not much to recommend.

Good Story After Rough Beginning

I liked the story. The beginning was a bit jumbled, both in character development and building conflict, but about one-third of the way through, things even out and Kat and Taye become likeable and relatable.

This book had three short stories in it and they were a little unrealistic if you ask me, not one I recommend to read!

Loved that Kat and Taye both liked each other but was to shy to say anything to each other. This was my first read from Bonnie and I thought it was just what i needed for my afternoon break.
