The Beladors are back in WITCHLOCK, Book 6 of the bestselling urban fantasy series by New York Times bestseller Dianna Love.

Witchlock vanished in the 13th century… or did it?
Some win. Some lose. And some will never be the same again.

After finally earning her place among the Beladors, Evalle is navigating the ups and downs of her new life with Storm when she’s sucked into a power play between her Belador tribe and the Medb coven. Both groups claim possession of the Alterants-turned-gryphons, especially Evalle, the gryphon leader. But an influx of demons and dark witches into Atlanta threatens to unleash war between covens, pitting allies against each other as a legendary majik known as Witchlock invades the city and attacks powerful beings. Evalle has one hope for stopping the invasion, but the cost may be her sanity and having to choose which friend to save.

I really enjoy coming back to the Belador series. I think that has to do largely with the heroine, Evalle, and how easy she is to root for. Really, very little time has passed over the course of these six books, but Evie has been put through the wringer. She just takes one hit after another at such a breakneck pace, but somehow, her focus remains on taking care of the people she loves and those she has given her loyalty to. It’s nice to see, finally, some of that loyalty is coming back to her.

The story begins only a week or so after the events of the last book. Evalle’s solitary life isn’t quite so solitary anymore with Lanna, Storm and Feenix all living in her tiny apartment. It’s actually kind of crowded and Evie is second guessing whether she and her man will be able to make it work there. This is a surprisingly significant thread that runs throughout the story, but I’ll come back to that in a moment.

There’s a new threat in town, a very dangerous witch who is about to harness an ancient power called Witchlock and she’s using Adrianna’s sister to do it. Evalle teams up with the Sterling witch to mount a rescue and cut the villain’s legs out from under her. It’s no small task, especially with the Tribunal once again breathing down Evalle’s back. This time, she is being charged with a crime she didn’t commit, so the Medb can get her under their thumb. She has only a short time to prove her innocence, while still trying to save the world, and be in a relationship for the first time in her life.

I have been a fan of the Storm-Evalle pairing for as long as I can remember, and I am glad they are together. I even understand why Evalle is anxious and lacks confidence in her ability to have a successful relationship. But I found myself frustrated by what felt like forced conflict at times. Yes, these two are really busy, but their problems basically amount to the fact that they can’t find 5 minutes to clear the air. So what we get is Evalle pining over Storm wanting to move out, when he does not, in fact, want to move out. And she pines some more. And she pines some more. While I am griping, this miscommunication- induced drama is the only real friction between them. Otherwise, they are essentially too good to be true, making sure we understand they super-trust each other and wouldn’t dream of truly having doubts in each other’s love. I don’t want to be overly critical, but I know the series is better than this thread reflects.

That aside, I was interested in the conflict. Other than a big info dump or two, I felt like the pacing was good. I enjoyed the action and I liked getting in deeper with Adrianna. I still want to know more about Sen. And I am happy to report that we are seeing more from Quinn and Tzader. I was disappointed to get so little from them in the last book. But here, I definitely got enough to satisfy me. And, based on the blurb for the next book, it looks like Tzader may be the focus. If that’s the case, I am kind of excited about that.

There is not a lot of advancement on the larger story arc: the Medb/ Belador war, the gryphons, VIPER, etc. This book’s central conflict was pretty self contained. But despite my little complaining about Evie and Storm, I feel like this book finally gives us some real resolution with them –and even the Isak thread, so it does impact the big picture.

I enjoyed it. I read it all in one sitting. And I will be back for Rouge Belador when it comes out in the spring.

okay okay I admit the last one since breaking off from Sherilyn Kenyon was not really good or not what I was used to for this series and was unsure if I was going to continue one but I can not get enough of Evalle and Storm I just needed them in my life so I gave it another shot and got it through the library. This one was a lot better than the 5th book so there is still hope for this series. I would give it a 3.5 star rating. I am again once excited to continue on with this series once again I am also glad that it isn't always concentrated on Evalle and Storm since the other two Belador's are hvaing trouble with their own personal lives. And I want to know more about that dragon chair and what that is all about.

If power-hungry beings ever try to take over the world, then I really hope there is a group of fighters who can stop these foes with their skills and a little luck. Evalle and her friends have been continuously battling for the good side in every book of the urban fantasy Belador series, and these warriors have looked out for their comrades while facing death in each story. Between perilous situations and torturous emotional issues, stressful lives are the norm for Evalle and her colleagues. But nothing will keep them from doing all they can to make certain the innocent are defended. WITCHLOCK is the sixth book in the compelling Belador series, and once again the jeopardy to mankind rises to unparalleled heights. Dianna Love never ceases to amaze when it comes to imaginative originality.

Coming up with a plan to keep unsuspecting humans safe from any type of treacherous supernaturals is something Evalle can expertly do, especially if she is allowed to turn into a gryphon. Yet the recent agreement to be in a relationship with Storm has her entering into territory where she feels no control. The jaguar shapeshifter treats her with a gentleness she has never known, as no one has ever actually cared about her welfare. Though Evalle really enjoys his attention, there is no way she is going to be more careful while doing her assignments as a VIPER agent. Protecting others from nonhuman predators is her sworn duty, and she has proven her worth many times. Hopefully, Storm will come to understand she can handle whatever comes her way, as she does not like to feel restricted.

Although a recent confrontation appeared to end well between the Beladors and Medb coven, Evalle believes there is no way the beliefs of their longtime enemy have changed so quickly. While both groups want her and other gryphons to join them, she will fight to stay with the Beladors who put others first, not their own wishes. When Evalle learns Witchlock majik is about to be resurrected in Atlanta, she knows those responsible must be kept from becoming even more forceful or every being on earth would be endangered.

WITCHLOCK is equally action-packed and emotional, as Dianna Love cleverly interweaves the dangerous episodes with poignant moments. The risks Evalle and those who fight with her often have to take are very hazardous, and the author frequently exposes them to threats no human could survive. I held my breath numerous times because I never knew how a battle would turn out, as nothing is assured in the precarious world where the Beladors live with dogged adversaries. This remarkable author repeatedly leaves you wondering if there truly are happenings on earth of which we are not aware, as scenes come across as exceedingly convincing. Urban fantasies by Dianna Love are about possibilities brought to life with fascinating details. Regardless of whether Evalle and her friends are in a physical conflict or the confrontation is only verbal, no one ever gives in because of concern for themselves.

For Evalle, being in a relationship is totally new to her. Though she has had a few close acquaintances, like Quinn and Tzader, never has she willingly shared her days and nights with someone. Storm does bring her great joy, yet his constant worry for her feels too much like control, something she wants no one to have over her. As they struggle to be happy together, one challenge after another pops up and adds to their daily trials as a couple. While Evalle and Storm are having their own problems, it seems most of her friends are also experiencing troubles of their own. While some of the predicaments are worked out in the story, other burdens still have a long way to go before being resolved. WITCHLOCK is an engaging journey of danger and personal feelings.

Witchlock by Dianna Love is the 6th book in her wonderful urban fantasy Beladors series. Those of you who have read my reviews know that I am a big fan of this series, and it’s heroine Evalle. Dianna Love, who is a master at writing romance suspense thrillers, once again gives us another sensational new story, with most of our favorites, Evalle, Storm, Tzader, Quinn and my wonderful Feenix. Thank you, Dianna for giving me more of Feenix. :)

In Witchlock, one of our regulars, Adrianna, steps up to the plate playing a major part of this story, and escalates herself to be one of Evalle’s group, and an ultra powerful ally. I really loved Adrianna in this book. Make no mistake though, as much as we love the secondary characters, the Beladors series belongs to one of the best kick-ass heroines, Evalle. I have always loved Evalle from the start of this series, and she just continues to get better, especially now that she has the love of her life, Storm.

Evalle is tough, powerful, loyal and totally independent, not to mention always having to prove herself to the gods. Because she will never cease to fight for her friends, and responsibilities, her relationship with Storm becomes strained at times, due to his wanting to always protect her and keep her from harm, which does not sit well with Evalle. It was fun to watch them try to solve this issue, while all hell was breaking loose around them.

Witchlock continues with both the Beladors (Macha is their goddess), and the Medb coven (lead by the recently revived goddess, Maeve) fighting for control of the Alterants, who are lead by Evalle. The Alterants currently are part of Belador, but Medb wants them, as well as Evalle. While this fight goes on, with Evalle in the middle, the crux of this story belongs to a powerful witch, who has been secretly absorbing powers from other powerful witches. Many many years ago, Witchlock, the ultimate power, disappeared, as the witch who had that power died. That witches coven has been grooming a young witch, Veronika since she was a child, to be able to take on this power and become the most powerful of them all.

Since I do not want to give any spoilers, what follows is an exciting pulse pounding thriller that has Evalle working with Adrianna and others to stop this witch or everyone will die. At every turn, it begins to look hopeless, as Veronika is already an unstoppable force. The last half of the book was a nail biter, which had me unable to put this book down until I reached the end.

If you have not started this series, and enjoy urban fantasy, a fantastic heroine, fun exciting stories, a beautiful romance that keeps building, great secondary characters….then I ask you, why have you not started the Beladors series? I love Dianna Love’s writing, her wonderful imagination, and her ability to grab us from the start of each book she writes, and keeps us there until the end… Everytime. Witchlock was a wonderful exciting and fun read, and Dianna once again justifies why her last name ends with Love :) . Please give yourself the enjoyment of reading this series.

O M G! Best I can say: Dianna has done it again!

Extremely well written and fast paced, so hold on tight as our favorite kick-ass heroine discovers relationships aren't easy, especially when you're tasked to save the world, and can only do it after sundown. Your pulse sort of stays in your throat, even while you're chuckling at the interplay between characters and trying not to weep at the emotional sincerity of the dialogues.

For the record: The book picks up just days after the end of Demon Storm (which was also awesome!) without missing a beat. You're immediately pulled into the action as Evalle chases an unknown non-human up the side of a mountain, and you're on the edge of your seat until the very last page when you realize - yet again - why you've cheered for Storm through books 1-5! There's action; there's mystery; there's drama; there's romance; there's humor; there's a whole continuation of the existing story lines and a whole new set opened up for future books.

Now the hard part... awaiting the next book!

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Evalle and friends are back in another high energy, pulse pounding adventure. Everything about this book from the villainess on the gorgeous cover to the very last page grabs you, sucks you in and won’t let you go until panting and exhausted you read the very last page. Well written and very fast paced this book is one fantastic ride. Evalle’s angst is less work related and more personal but she has learned to deal with trouble in all its forms and she will figure out her relationship with Storm too. That is if she can slow down long enough.
Fans of Rachel Caine’s Weather Warden series will enjoy this series. I surely do.

This book is awesome. I loved how all of the books just flow together. After reading Demon Storm, I was like "Oh my goodness, what happens to Evalle, Storm, and everyone else. I could not put this book down. Dianna does a wonderful job making me picture how those characters act and feel. I honestly picture them in my mind saving humanity from the evil demons out there. I can't wait until the next book comes out. Way to go Miss Dianna Love, you are one of my favorite authors and that includes the AG herself, Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Dianna Love did it again, storytelling at its best~

You know... FINALLY Evalle catches a break!!! My girl manages to get a little rest, her man's love, and some Feenix snuggles by the end of Witchlock. Poor Evalle is always wrapped up in muck gone wrong. I've been waiting for her to have a moment of sanity without the world stacked against her. Witchlock starts out with the anticipation of "What now, what more can she take?" My heart rate is always up when I read from Dianna Love's Belador Series.

The Medb are at it again with their evil plots to dominate all and destroy the Beladors. Sen wants Evalle's blood. Bad. That dude is one cranky creature that really needs to get laid. Out. Cold. For the count. There's a new B... er, I mean Witch in town and she thinks she has what it takes to wield Witchlock, an all destroying, all consuming majik. However, she wasn't counting on Adrianna's love for her sister Ragan, and the support of true friends to trump her all mighty power. There is so much going on in this book that a series reread is in order before the next in series, Rogue Belador, is released.

All I can say is I CANNOT WAIT!!!

Once again Dianna Love delivers!!! With action right from the start, Witchlock keeps you on the thrill ride that is Evalle's life. We learn the history behind the covens within the Belador series, Evalle finds herself in trouble once more with the Tribunal and Sen, you are taken on the emotional journey as Evalle and Storm and even little Feenix navigate the bumps in their relationship and once hidden players in the game come to light. If you are a fan of the Belador series this one is a MUST read.

Adrianna has always been a key source of help for Evalle and Storm, in Witchlock it is time to repay the debt owed for that help and while they are more than willing to help, each has their own way of thinking that should happen. Of course this leads to things not going as all had planned....

If you have not read any from this series before I suggest you start with book 1. Blood Trinity in order to get the back story or you may be a little lost. If you are a fan you don't want to miss this action packed adventure that takes you a little deeper into the series. It is packed with all the greatness that comes with a novel by Dianna Love and the Beladors!

Excellent Series!
This is excellent series; this is the sixth book in the Belador series by Dianna Love. If you have not read any of the other books in this series, I would recommend that you start reading the first book and read them in order. Evalle has finally earned her place among the Beladors and is trying to get used to her new life. When she is sucked into a power play between her Belador tribe and the Medb coven. When an influx of demons and dark witches threaten Atlanta she has to find a way to stop it. This book grabs you at the first page! Once I started reading it, I didn’t want to put it down until the end. This book has it all, humor, action, paranormal creatures, and enough twists to keep you turning the page. I can’t wait until the next book in this series comes out. Dianna Love has done it again with another awesome book!
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

The sixth installment in the Belador series, Witchlock is a non-stop, action-packed read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. As Evalle, Adrianna and Storm race to save the unsuspecting humans and everyone else from an ambitious witch who wants to take control of the power of Witchlock, the Medb are plotting to take down the Beladors, starting with Evalle. If that isn’t enough, Storm and Evalle’s living arrangements are tested by a Evalle’s jealous gargoyle, Feenix.

Dianna Love doesn’t disappoint and this book is no exception!

Love this series, love all the characters in it. Love, love, love Evalle and Storm and I can really get with an Isak and Adrianna love match. Each book has an ending but yet leaves wanting the next adventure. I fell in love with this series through reading Sherrilyn Kenyon books and I will continue to read it now that Dianna Love is the only author.

Thank you once again Dianna!

I'm thrilled to tell everyone who listens to me that this is definitely a must read! Evalle is on the move from the very first page. Trying to keep everyone safe. Her life at home, livable. Yet, still keep her ass out of the fire. And continuing to learn to trust, in a world that seems to just knock you down.

Agony of waiting

The Belador books keep getting better. These are some of my favorite characters because they have come alive through the many complex story lines. Are they good or evil or both...just love the depth of each one. 2016 until we get to visit again....must you be human and have to write so slow? I wish the stories would never end!

When I started the series I thought it was pretty interesting and read through the first two books pretty quickly. I then got the other 4 but started struggling through them, with book 6 being hard to finish. I have done my best to really stick to the books and finish the series but will be stopping here.

The premise of the book is really good, Witchlock being a very interesting concept. However, the execution of it leaves pretty much all of the characters as tstl (too stupid to live). This may be due to the fact that all 6 books are set within what reads as no more than 6 months. Therefore none of them seem to become any smarter, more communicative, or develop any improved deductive reasoning!!! I found myself thinking often "Yes, you have all these powerful enemies and you just think "oh it must be nothing"?! Just die already!" After three books of thinking that, and actively fast forwarding through dialogue, I accept I will not continue the books.

I initially really liked Evalle, but she has not developed in a way that shows why everyone is so obsessed with her, and she is not presented as a specifically strong or skilled fighter.

Everything magically resolves in the last few chapters, people get into the right place and the cliffhanger is there for the next book. I wanted to read the next book about Brina and Tzader but cannot sit through more of the same.

Review: Witchlock (Belador #6) by Dianna Love

There’s a slight shift in tone now that Dianna Love is writing solo, but it’s not a bad thing—just different. The story is still engaging, and the characters continue to grow in meaningful ways.

I really enjoyed the developing relationship between Adrianna and Evalle. I suspected they’d end up as allies, and their dynamic added a fresh layer to the story. I’m also intrigued by Adrianna and Isaac—there’s definite potential there, and I hope we get more of their story, especially if the twins are involved!

The Lena and warrior goddess arc felt a bit drawn out, but in a way that built suspense rather than dragging the plot. And of course, the continuing storyline between Evalle and Storm remains a highlight. Their relationship keeps deepening, and I love the emotional tension between them.

Overall, Witchlock delivers on action, emotion, and supernatural intrigue. Dianna Love keeps the series strong and engaging—I’m excited to see what comes next!

Somewhat disappointed in this installment

The writing didn't flow as smoothly as usual. To be honest, the first half was really slow for me. Up until the last quarter, I found my attention wandering while I read. Part of that was the boring aspects of the Witch politics and groups. Part was lack of the usual action scenes.

But I do !like the romance between the main characters, and I like the supporting characters as well. Because of that, I'll likely continue the series.

Storm and Evalle are very cute like the couple that are hot for eachother and the other times one of the people wants to smakc the other person severely hard just cause they cant believe they were lucky to get them thats how I feel with their relationship EValle has always been a loner and when Storm comes her way and tries to woo her she can not believe someone wants to be involved with her in any way shape or form and I find her adorable for that.

This book definitely has a lot of action in it. One of the things I noticed that I did not notice from the first time I read this series is that there is definitely a lot of fighting and power struggles in this book. I do find it interesting that the gods and goddesses in this book are such pains in the butt. I have noticed that in other books that have deities not just this one. I do like the fact that evil is finally learning to open up and have more friends in her life.

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title within the series set box. (Audible Membership)

Adrianna was the Witch that helped in the previous episode to ensure that Evalle made it into the other realm, and Storm made it back home.
They owed Adrianna their help for what she had done for them.
She was not asking for their help, and it was time sensitive.
They really didn't know what was coming and how they were going to have to again help to save the world.

Saving Friends

Evalle puts her life in jeopardy again to save a friend. Having friends is new to Evalle. When any of them is in danger she does whatever it takes to help. This is the story of Adrienne's effort to save her sister from an evil and powerful witch, Veronika. Dianna Love made me very anxious during some parts of her story. I have truly identified with her characters. Read the book!

Evalle has to clear her name from a Medb murder, Brina is getting worse, trolls are getting murdered, a dark witch threatens the world and all supernaturals, all her friends are in trouble and the tension and feelings of there's no way to win are high. The tension is almost too high at times and only some things get resolved at the end and it happens very quickly.

It’s they same thing different day. Once again Evolle is being blamed by the tribunal for something she didn’t do and is treated unfairly. By book 6 with this happening in every single book, it is officially old and the formula doesn’t work anymore. I’m not sure it’s worth reading anymore after 6 books some things need to be resolved.
