In His Skates

Expected 15 Oct 26
My name is Leigh Matthews, and I’ve been dubbed one of Hollywood’s rising stars. When my agent booked me for a soda pop commercial, I didn’t think much about it. That changed when I found out I had been paired with Keanu Santori, the hotshot player for the LA Royals hockey team and the bane of my existence.

On set, I try to keep things professional, even though we hate each other. But quickly, I realize my former next-door neighbor hasn’t changed much in the last four years. We barely make it to the end of the shoot without killing each other. I’m ready to put the experience behind me and never think about Keanu again until suddenly, I’m stuck in his body, and he’s stuck in mine.

We’ve been Freaky-Friday-ed!

Now we must work together to reverse whatever happened to us. I start shooting the biggest movie of my career in a few weeks, and Keanu is expected to lead his team into the playoffs. He might be able to pretend he’s me for a couple of days, but if I step foot on the ice in his skates… I’m screwed.

*Freaky Friday meets Hockey Romance in this sexy, enemies-to-lovers rom-com.

In His Skates is Freaky Friday with a sinfully beautiful twist.

Michelle put a spin on a trope that is reminiscent of the Romcoms I grew up loving. In this book two “enemies” switch places and are forced to spend as much time together to get a hold of what’s going on and figure out what will happen if they can’t swap back!

The switch has massive implications on their lives but in the time they are ‘each other’ they learn so much and realize they had the other person all wrong! Through this crazy set of events a bond is formed and more than that, desire starts to seep in and the control they both had; gone!

I love how they each helped the other through their dark moments and the empathy and understanding they found. Their heated moments are absolutely top tier and I didn’t want this book to end! In His Skates is the perfect romcom read and one that will have you falling for both the hero and his heroine!

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you loved the 2000s Freaky Friday but wished for a more adult version with enemies to lovers tension, steamy chemistry and SPICE, and more laughs, then In His Skates is the book for you. I literally devoured this story in one day - it's quick, easy-to-gasp, fun and sweet & spicy.

The main characters, Leigh and Keanu start off as childhood neighbors but their relationship quickly turns into hate during their high school years. Years later, after begrudgingly having to work together on a campaign, their years of loathing each other causes a mysterious mishap…..Now she’s stuck in his body and he’s stuck in hers.
‼️THEY’VE BEEN FREAKY-FRIDAY-ED‼️

The hate to love chemistry between these two is hilarious but understandable. Its derived from childish high school antics & miscommunication but I loved seeing these two have to deal with their forced proximity situation and open up leading to - awkward but laughable moments, eye-opening perspectives, longing looks, heated attraction and an opposites attract rom-com that I didn't want to put down!!

I loved this book from Michelle Hercules. Keanu and Leigh were childhood enemies that were suddenly thrown together and had to get along for a second. When they found themselves Freaky Friday’d, they had to learn to get along and work together or ruin their lives. It was a fun story of restoration and forgiveness.
