Reveler #7

The Sandman

Rate this book
The world Darkside is in turmoil when Chimera Marshal Steve Coll, bloody and beaten, makes it back to Maze City and into Maisie’s arms. He bears a terrible message—The Sandman, the god of the world of dreams, is rising, and he’s bringing devastation to the waking world. Steve must embrace his dual nature to save those he’s sworn to protect. And yet, how can he fight a being who destroys everything in his path?

Even awake, no one is safe.

After the fall of the black market, Maisie Lane’s city is overrun with criminals who want her dreamscape for their own. She’s always envisioned Maze City populated, but not with people like these. Nevertheless, she must relinquish some of her control not only to save the man she loves, but to protect and defend her precious city. While friends and family face danger and betrayal, another enemy is lurking in the shadows.

As time runs out, Maisie and Steve must fight with everything they have, or lose it all, including each other. And even if they somehow prevail, nothing will ever be the same.

The Sandman is the seventh installment in the Reveler serial, a hot paranormal romance set in a world where shared dreaming is a new pop culture phenomenon that allows people to indulge their wildest fantasies. But there are also unknown dangers Darkside; nightmares are slowly infiltrating not only dreams, but the waking world as well.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:
*copy gifted in exchange for an honest review

The Sandman picks up (obviously) where Delirium left off, with the fall of the black market Darkside and our cast scattered to investigate and battle the dangers now running rampant not only in the dreamwaters, but in the waking world, as well.

Maisie and Steve play a key role in The Sandman, but most of our other favorites are also there and play important supporting roles.

It's almost impossible to write a review for this book without giving away spoilers, so I will simply tell you this: there's lots of danger, oodles of intrigue, plenty of gasp-worthy moments, pieces that will make you feel like you have a lead balloon in your stomach, a sexy (and despicable) new villain, alliances that will have you on the edge of your seat, and just enough witty dialogue to keep things a bit light here and there.

Erin digs deeper into *her* darkside as the series continues, and this reader couldn't be happier!!

READ THIS SERIES! It's unique, fresh, captivating, enthralling, and action-packed. I highly recommend this serial to all paranormal romance and urban fantasy lovers!

3.5 stars - I liked it. The next to last book in Kellison's Revelers's series, The Sandman is really the lead up to the big finish as the Reve' crumbles and Nightmares invade the waking world.

The whole gang from the previous books are back, and so much is happening in both worlds that there isn't time to do much more than a little moment here and there with each. With this story relying heavily on people and events from previous stories, this is definitely not the place for new readers to start this series. For fans, like all the rest of the novellas in the series this feels short and peril for the cast as the world falls apart around them and the introduction of a new enemy make this an unsettling transitional book, but it has me anxious to see how things all play out in the final episode, The Scrape.

At the end of the last book Delirium it looked as if our assorted group of heroes had well and truly let the cat amongst the pigeons. With this episode we dive right back into the murky waters that make up Darkside. The fallout from the collapse of the black market and events that led survivors through the Scrape means as this story begins Maze City is the only place that's safe. Trouble is not everyone is there and even if they were just how long can they stay in the dream waters? The Sandman is well and truly rising but even the humans are trying to catch up with those who seek to control the Agora. Once you could trust those who work for Chimera but the Oneiros are everywhere and carnage is a close step behind!
This is a hard review to write because truthfully I really don't want to give away too much of the plot. Those who have followed ths series know all about hybrids and the nightmares that seek out living flesh. The fascinating cast of characters are spread about in this instalment and it's quite heartbreaking to read about the events that the thoroughly evil Ms Kellison is putting her characters through! Talk about taking things up a gear! Not a conventional romance by any means but drama that keeps this reader coming back for more.
If I say more I will give far too many details away but one things for sure this was an intense read that shocked me , leaving me feeling bereft as a much loved character faced their own worse nightmare with a cliffhanger ending that made me scream. No point screaming though as I guess the author will release the next book as soon as she dreams it up!

OMG! I LOVE THIS SERIES SO HARD. It's dark and dangerous and with the collapse of the black market and the infiltration of the nightmares into the waking world, it just keeps getting worse.

Plus, there's that whole Sandman thing. Which is NOT GOOD for anybody who hopes to, you know, come out of this alive.

This deep into the series, we get to see more and more of the group as they struggle to get a handle on what's happening. While there's a focus on Maisie and her amazing dreamscape, we also see Jordan and Rook, Harlen and Sera, and Vince and Mirren fighting to help right things as the world around them crumbles.

Sometimes literally.

And Steve. STEVE. I have no clue how things are going to play out down the line. He's in a terrible position and Maisie's liable to fall and take her dreamscape with her if something can't be figured out.

Both the dreaming and the waking world are now deadly and I'm DYING for the next installment of this series.

Erin Kellison returns to the Reveler Series! It's not over yet and there's still more to come! This novella series has become highly addicting! I love it!

The Sandman is the seventh installment and it is a series you really should start from the beginning, just to get a better grasp of who's who and whatnot. Plus there are other plot details that come along and are mentioned, so you might spoil yourself for a past event. And really, this series goes by so fast you'll want to "revel" in it as much as you can, from the beginning even!

In this one, we have chaos! Lots and lots of chaos! Steve comes to Maze City nearly dead, he's injured and broken. Other black market revelers are intruding on the city as well, and it's taking everything Maisie and her new friends have in order to keep her city in her control. But there's yet another new enemy in her world, one who is proving to be quite a menace and not easily gotten rid of.

There's still turmoil and chaos in the waking world as well. For the message Steve came bearing was that the Sandman has risen. The big bad. And he's headed for the waking world.

In this one, we get to see all the characters previously met. We don't spend more time with any of them really. This go around, it felt like everyone got equal page time. Though sadly, Maisie and Steve don't get enough together time, but their page time is still equal to the others on their own. Though I am still left wondering about the fate of one couple. We are left with shaky information on one and the second of the pair just kind of disappears. I take it to meet up with the other...but yeah...definitely left wondering about those two! LOL! Sorry for the vagueness!

The Sandman was pretty much awesome! It really racks up the action and impending doom. Unless our heroes can save the day! And now to wait for book 8 in the series!

And I thought this series was good before The Sandman!

The Sandman is book 7 in Erin Kellison's Reveler Series and it brought me to my knees!!

Intense, exciting, powerful! and so much more, Ms. Kellison just keeps getting better and better! For those of you who haven't been following the Reveler Series, I suggest you start. It's not quite a series and not quite a serial it's a bit of each. Each book is a short novella that tells a part of the story and could in theory be read as a stand alone. Only don't! The complete series is an overall arc that keeps twisting and turning. Bringing your nightmares to life.

In a world where one can "lucid" dream, where it's
"safe" to wander into the dreamscape reality has come crashing in. There are those who want to control dreamscape, who want to escape your nightmares and live in reality. Corruption has destroyed any chance of "safe" and now a select few are fighting to survive the war between dreams and reality.

Darkness abides as the Sandman Rises. The darkest demon from anyone's nightmare's. A being set on feeding off all of the dreams in dreamscape and there are those who chose to help it. There are living entities who were born to walk between dreams and waking life. Just as with humans, some are good and some are evil. Each has to decide for themselves if they will serve the Sandman, a being that is essentially their god, or if they will fight with the humans. And even if they stand with the humans, the run the risk of being destroyed by those same individuals.

Maize City is under attack, Maisie has been forced to make alliances and allow those that survived the flight from the blackmarket to work in her city. And even then there is someone who can control dreams, a demon, a walking nightmare, who wants to control the city. And Maisie discovers that even she may not be strong enough to hold it.

Sera has returned to the waking world to help Steve but finds her own battles to fight. Harlen and Rook are forced to wake to help in any way they can. And Jordan? Well everyone thinks she might just be crazy..

And Steve? He faces the darkest battle of all.

The sacrifices made by these individuals might never be known and yet they fight on. They fight for the right to survive.

Honestly, I was consumed by this book.. Can. Not. Wait. For. More.

By far one of the best serials I’ve ever read. Although it’s a quick read it, I think it is mostly so because once I got my hands on it I just couldn’t put it down. This is the seventh installment of the series and must be read in order, and while I thought it was going to be last one I was happily surprised to find out there is still yet one more to come.
Hybrid Steve Coll is back and he comes bearing bad news: the Sandman has risen. With the fall of the black market, wild child Maisie must join forces with criminals if she wants to keep her city alive and save the man she loves. Agent Malcom Rook has to trust his beloved Jordan in the wake world to make the right choices while he tries to save those that still need him Darkside, even though he wants nothing more than to run to her side. Marshal Harlen Fawkes has already lost an ally in this war and may end up losing so much more if their enemies get a hold of those he loves. Everyone is doing their best to stay alive but it may just not be enough as one of them may just have to make the ultimate sacrifice.
This installment is not so much romance but non-stop riveting action. The suspense throughout had me turning the pages in anticipation. I could never guess who was a true ally, who was the enemy, what were they up against. And the fact that they were not only fighting to save the world but each other made the story even better. Kellison knows her craft and has created a world like no other, threading aspects of suspense, fantasy, action, romance, and science fiction into one spell-binding well-told plot that left me wanting more. If anything, that’s my only peeve of this entire series, because I wish each and every one of them was longer and the characters had more room to tell more of themselves and of the story itself. But men, what a story!

THE SANDMAN is loaded with danger, intrigue, drama and witty dialogue.

The Sandman is rising.
"It'd been the only thing Coll had said before delirium had taken him again.
The Sandman. Rising.

THE SANDMAN by Erin Kellison is gripping good! Chaos prevails! I admit it; I'm utterly addicted to this series. I love the characters and the incredible awake and darkside worlds the author has created.

A year ago, I read books one thru three in the series. I've not been able to forget the story or the characters so I recently binge-read books four through seven. I'm happy to report that the stories are still as obsession-inducing as they were a year ago. This is an original, dark series set in a complicated, futuristic world. You can expect each to include scenes of heated passion, lots of suspense and humorous segments that appear to lighten the mood when needed. Each installment is novella-length and there's always a cliffhanger at the end that will knock you for a loop and make you crave the next book right then.

I suggest that these novellas be read in order as there is a rather involved continuing storyline and interconnected characters who figure prominently in each book. Each of the books begins where the book before left off. At the very least, the first book, DARKNESS FALLS, should be a required prerequisite as it contains essential background information about Reves, i.e., shared dreamscapes, and introduces many of the characters.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I rate this installment 3.5 Stars I remember at the end of Delirium being excited and eager to get The Sandman and find out what happened next.....I'm not sure if it was just the long period of time between installments or too much Mother's Day dinner before sitting down to read and post my review, but this one didn't grip me like the prior installments did. I am using the word installments here because these are not standalone books, at all, if you haven't read them in order you're going to be totally lost in the dreamscape. After reading the first couple of chapters I found myself having to stop and skim the last book just to get myself back into the flow of the story.

I have really enjoyed the story up to this point and I've found all the characters fascinating and have been cheering for them to prevail, however this one left me feeling frustrated that again we haven't reached the conclusion to the story, I'm afraid if I was being forced to pay $2.99 for each installment I would have gotten frustrated by now and quit. I think I've said this in all my reviews but I sincerely hope the author bundles this series together at a reasonable price when it's complete. It really is an excellent story and it would be too bad if people didn't read it all the way to the conclusion because of the way it was split into so many installments.

As with most of this series, The Sandman continues where Delirium finished. It is difficult to write a review without giving any of the story away so you'll just have to trust me when I say that this series is getting darker. Maisie and Steve have big roles to play but so do most of the others characters. They all get their fair share of 'story time' in this book. One thing I will say while giving away no spoilers, is to be prepared to have your heartstrings pulled!

The action and excitement are pretty much non-stop and doublespeak is rife. Just who can be trusted, who can't, who is human, and who isn't, is all up in the air and you won't know as you read along. Absolutely excellent wordsmithing.

As with all in this series, highly recommended!

The Sandman is the 7th installment in this series, that has proven long before being fantastic in its originality.

In this installment we see all the characters known before going through dire ordeals that put their lives in risk. Not only their lives are in risk but also the waking world, since the Sandman has risen and his intentions are wicked and harmful to the entire population. Also the Agora is in risk of falling as happened with the black market in the previous novella.

A new enemy and a new kind of an accomplice are revealed leading the story through an interesting, if somewhat hard edge.

I'll admit that my heart hurts thinking of the circumstance my precious characters, whom I came to love, find themselves.

OK, I'm surprised to be saying this since we're already up to book 7 in the series, but this one takes the cake as far as action and suspense. There are so many different plot points happening with the characters we've grown to love that you just have the feeling something permanent is going to happen to one of them. This book has definitely had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I can't wait to jump into book 8.

7. Erin Kellison, Sandman, Reveler Series Book 7
• Well I must say, my first thought was that Ms. Kellison had written these characters into a dead-end. I know in my heart she will have a way out for some of them (if not all), but that was my overwhelming feeling throughout reading this installment. There’s only been a few authors that I’ve come across that have made me wonder how the story could possibly have a HEA and somehow they all make it happen, though at the time you can’t fathom how. You wrack your mind to find a light at the end of the tunnel and can’t see it. That’s where the genius comes in on the Authors’ part. That’s how the Greats get your attention and keep you on the edge of your seat. Ms. Kellison is one of these special, imaginative Authors that can just blow your mind with the twists and turns and still have a plan for the end. I appreciate your imagination immensely and am grateful you have the strength and ability to follow through to the very end. I could only dream of having half the imagination of this Author. Steve comes back in this installment, Maze City is overrun by criminals and worse. The waking world is in utter chaos and close to apocalyptic. No one knows who to trust. Jordan, Malcolm and Harlen are exhausted and fighting for humanity. You’ve got me on the edge of me seat again, Ms. Kellison, but I suspect that’s exactly where you want me.

The Sandman: The Revelers bk 7 by Erin Kellison

In this one we start in Maze City, Steve Coll just walked in from the Scape, and attacked by the refugees from the Black Market because he looked like a Nightmare. Harlen, Rook and Sera were able to pull them off him and Maisie was able to get him to safety deep inside the City with Rook’s help.

From here our hero and heroine’s just get deeper and deeper into trouble as the Sandman rises to the waking world.

Jordan was in the Agora following the one band that supposedly backs the Oneiros, only to find out that Noah, the lead singer, is hybrid and controls others Darkside. He influences and controls minds. Finally she gets away from him and wakes up, only to find that Senator Fleight has invaded their safe house, Sera is bleeding from a wound to her torso and everyone is being taken back to Chimera headquarters. She bargains with the senator to corporate if the let Garry Fawkes to the hospital with Sera.

Steve Coll wakes up in a Reveler’s Care Center, he figures out quickly that it is controlled by the Oneiro’s, and let’s them think he is still asleep, until he can’t anymore, then he gets up and tries to hid until Sera can get to him, not knowing that she is in a hospital fighting for her life, and discovers Dieter Lambert’s room, where the Nightmares are congaing. Then Dieter Lambert’s eyes open, except is not him, it is the Sandman, he has risen.

Maisie is fighting for her City, with all the Black Market people needing a new place to do business, and then Noah finds her City, having retrieved it out of Jordan’s memory. He wants the city too. What Maisie wants to do is wake up and dump them all into the Scrape, but she can’t do that because her friends are there, so fight she must.

This story started out very strong, then seemed to move a little slower. I understand why as all the pieces fit together, or came apart as the story progressed. Ms. Kellison wove the waking world and Darkside together so well, you wondered if this wasn’t some elaborate dream, by the end we learn that even hybrids can have nightmares. I loved it. Definitely five stars. I can’t wait for the next installment. If you have been following this series, this is a must read, it is all starting to come to an end, or a new beginning. Very well written.

I have read all the book in this series so far and I cant get over how much I am enjoying them. The Sandman is is by far the one that I didnt want to put down even to go to work but I knew I had to . I love how Erin kept the suspense going through this book even in the ending which drives me crazy wanting to know what is going to happen in the next book. If ever there is a set of books that will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you pulling your hair out waiting for the next book you really need to read this series please start at the first book that way you know all that is going on and will be happening through to the next book .

One of the things I dislike about serials today is there is no consistency in the release of the various story parts. I didn’t used to mind the every week release story when I was a kid. But now, it can be anywhere from a month to a year, and if we are really, really unlucky, something may happen and we don’t get all of the story - whether it is the author not finishing it for whatever reason, or I just plain get busy and forget that I haven’t finished it yet.

Even something as exciting and action packed as the Reveler can be put aside and forgotten. I almost had until I found The Sandman in my in-box for review. Since I have read and reviewed the rest of the series, I got it. I am mostly glad I got it. It is extremely exciting and action packed. It is also nerve racking. Things are happening that just cannot be believed. How are all the heroes going to survive all that is happening? But, the story has not yet reached its conclusion. There is still to be another installment, so I am still left with no ending and frustration. Although the author says in her newsletter that the next book will conclude the serial, we are not told when that will be.

If I had known at the beginning this was such an action packed serial, I would not have started it. I would have waited until all parts were written and released, then read the entire story all at once. It is a story well worth reading. But since I did not, I am reading this one installment at a time.

As mentioned the story is entirely gripping. It grabbed me and pulled me into the “Darkside.” The characters have been well developed. The story is fast paced and interesting. Any fan of the action packed, suspense, paranormal/fantasy genre would enjoy this story. Just be prepared to wait an unspecified length of time before getting a conclusion.

The sandman is rising and he’s bringing destruction to the waking world by destroying everything in his path and everyone will have to fight with everything they have or nothing will ever be the same again in this exciting and chilling paranormal fantasy.

The black market has fallen, nightmares are in the waking world and Maisie, Steve and friends face danger and betrayal with time running out and the reader can’t help but get caught up in all the exciting action as the group fight for survival of the waking world. These strong compelling characters continue to demand reader’s attention while they struggle with the nightmares and the fast paced and smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, excitement and passion.

Expectation and excitement keep readers on the edge of their seat as everything both darkside and in the waking world seems to fall apart and everyone will have to fight their own battles while the Sandman rises and to add even more excitement a new enemy is lurking in the shadows with his own brand of insane. The story comes to life with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination with vivid imagery and the well-orchestrated events ensure that there is never a dull moment to be found.

This series just keeps getting better and better with more interesting elements in such a complex world where there aren’t many rules which just adds lots of spice to the story and I can’t wait to find out what happens next – especially after that chilling and exciting cliffhanger.

The Sandman is rising which is a very bad thing for the waking world! The intensity and emotional upheaval continues to increase in the seventh installment of Erin Kellison’s paranormal Reveler Series. Characters that I have grown to love are in dire straits with little hope at this point. Of course there are unexpected twist and turns in this story so who can know where Ms. Kellison is going to take the storyline. . I can’t wait to see if Steve will be Noah’s nightmare. Never thought I would say this but you can love a nightmare, Steve is a prime example of one that not just Maisie loves!

This series has stayed true to its original storyline without going off on a tangent like so many of these kinds of series do after several books. This is a good thing. The plot and characters are still refreshingly unique. Just when I think I know what will happen there is a major turning point. Always ends with a cliffhanger so I find it to wait for the next installment.

A word of warning, this novella will make little sense to a reader who tries to jump into the series with The Sandman. This series is more like an e-serial so start with the first, Darkness Fall (free at the time of this review). I can guarantee that like me, you will be hook into the story with so many complex characters to root for in their survival quest. I have never met Erin Kellison but often I have wonder what type of person she must be to have this imaginative creativity.

In this 7th installment of the Reveler series there were definitely tons of twists and turns and some very unexpected surprises, not necessarily good either. It's heartbreaking and tragic and leaves off on a cliff hanger ending that's a bit of a surprise as well. New characters and still the feeling that you aren't quite sure who to trust. The core group of characters is still there and all of them battling in one way or another to keep the Sandman from taking over as feared and eluded to in the previous books. Definitely an edge of your seat, action packed story. Constantly guessing about what is going to happen and who is going to win, new characters throwing a wrench in things and stirring the pot a bit as well. It's as if you are really inside this mystery and just as anxious about every nuance in the story.
A very quick read had it read in a few hours. The story line jumps around but that's expected with as many characters and each of their roles. Even through it does jump from scenario to scenario it isn't choppy it's a very smooth read. Definitely can't wait for the next installment and to see what new secrets are revealed and how every aspect ties up in the conclusion. There are still things that we don't know and bits and pieces that are wrapping up and bringing all the separate story lines together and tying them all up in one hopefully nice neat bow!

THE SANDMAN BY: ERIN KELLISON

Whoa! Being the second to last book in the series I knew that big, crazy things were going to happen, but I was in no way prepared for everything that went down in The Sandman! Seriously.

I have grown to really love these characters, and with this addition of the series I now understand that I have no idea what the hell is going to happen to any of them! Things keep looking bleaker and bleaker for this gang of misfits, and really the whole world at large!

We did get to see more than we have of the Sandman in this book, but it was honestly a lot less than I had anticipated. Although the damage he inflicts is in no way in shortage here. By the end of this story I feel like this entire situation is completely FUBAR and I have no clue how the next, and last book is going to wrap everything up. And I am now so worried about anyone making it through to the end!

This was non stop action packed with plenty of crazy twists and turns. A don't miss for sure! Now I'll just be here, very nervously, awaiting what Kellison will wallop us with next!

The Sandman is the 7th Book in Erin Kellison's Reveler Series. This is definitely not a stand alone book. It picks up right where Delirium left off with the collapse of the Black Market and the survivors in Maisie's City. The 4 couples are scattered and working hard to battle the dangers of the dream world and stop the Sandman from coming. Steve and Maisie along with Rook and Jordan play big roles in this book but the other characters you are familiar with are all there as well.

It's impossible to give a synopsis of this book without spoilers so I won't. In fact its downright difficult to do a review without giving too much away. Suffice it to say, this is an exciting, action packed book. There is a ton of danger and intrigue and a few very surprising moments. I couldn't read it fast enough and there were times when I was cringing with dismay and what some of the characters are going through. The saying it's always darkest before the dawn certainly applies here or at least I hope so - no dawn in this book but they are certainly in dark times.

I was on the edge of my seat, and while this is certainly more action then romance there are a few moments between characters here and there. This book ends in a cliffhanger that made me want to scream and hope that the next book comes out soon!

After a lull in the action, this book really sucked me right back in! Everything is really starting to ramp up for the final showdown now. These books definitely have to be read in order to be fully appreciated (and understood).

Steve has finally come back to them, but he's been wandering for so long that he's hardly recognizable. Saved by Maze City (just like all the others who were in the black market), the gang plans the order they will awake to best handle all the things that are going crazy at once. Steve wakes, hoping to find Sera there to rescue him from the facility. Of course, nothing goes as planned. People are taken into custody, no one can get word to one another about their safety, and Steve discovers that the Sandman isn't just rising, he has risen!

It was great to watch these very different individuals work together (with an even darker side of the dreamworld) to try to save their world (both dreaming and awake). The nightmares are still moving in and the sandman is still trying to destroy the world. The next installment should be even more intense than this one as they all work together to stop the big bad.

With the fall of the Black Market Darkside, the people saved from the Scrape are holed up in Maze City, just as Steve Coll manages to find his way back there. In terrible shape, Steve is sent back to the waking world in the hopes of saving him. Maisie just wants to be with Steve, but that's impossible at this point. With talented criminals overwhelming her city and trying to get a piece of it, Rook tries to convince Maisie she will have to make alliances to survive this and keep Maze City. With the Sandman rising in the waking world, total destruction is going to follow. Not knowing who to trust in the waking world, Jordan is flying by the seat of her pants. The danger, suspense and plot have all picked up steam with the Sandman, and I thoroughly enjoyed following favorite characters into events I didn't see coming at all. Unable to put this down until I finished, I hate the fact this series is coming to an end, but eagerly anticipate the final installment.

I so was excited to dive into this one. Long awaited to find out more about the Sandman. Arghhhh warning though this one is explosive and soo filled with drama. It will cause head banging because of some of the circumstances that occur and what happens to some of your characters you have come to follow. It will have some twists that you will leave you saying noooo did that just happen? I would like to get a vacuum and suck that Sandman right up. You will want to get right in there and help these guys out. Meet also someone that is similar to Steve and Mirren who will cause some havoc of his own. Devastation hits to those that wake also but a unexpected assistance will come from a unlikely corner. A new aspect of nightmares will be revealed. Couples will have to find a way to come together and stay together if they are to survive. I do like there is romance in this but more to the point is the drama that keeps me coming back for more. WOW, I have to say I messed up by reading this installment first.. I was really lost and having a hard time staying interested. I'm a stubborn woman tho and I persevered. Finally I got to a place where things picked up more and/or I was figuring the storyline out. (bad T, 7th book and I read it first) So, now I need to go read all the previous books. I gave a 4 star because it is not the author's fault I was lost and I really liked it once I sorted a few things out. This book finds Maisie and Steve in Maze city. Steve is in bad shape and needs to wake up in the real world and get some help.. This is arranged but things go south in a hurry wakeside.. Not gonna write a spoiler so that's it.. If you have been reading this series I suggest you read Sandman asap.. If you have not read the previous books I highly recommend starting at the beginning.. Very sci-fi, very descriptive and very suspenseful.

As always, my reviews may contain spoilers, read at your own risk.

Oh my Gawd, Oh my Gawd, Oh My Gawd!

The Good: Any book that makes you yell has to be amazing and this one is, and I yelled many, many times. SO much happens in this story, it doesn't focus on one couple / person. They are all there and they are all great.

The Bad - Not the writing or this story, but dear God the things that happen! I'm still shocked. And can not wait until I read the next in the series to find out what happened. Oh and the new character introduced. Bad bad bad. He's causing all kinds of fantastic trouble.

The Ugly: The Ugly part happened when I had five pages left and all three of my children individually felt the need to ask me random questions so I had to yell "Mommy is reading, leave me alone!"

I could not wait to read this next book in the series and the author did not disappoint. There was so much of interest I just had to read it all in one go to appreciate the sheer magnetism of the story. Those rescued when the blackmarket falls seek sanctuary in Maze City, but are difficult to control. Meanwhile, Steve Coll nearly loses his life, and his humanity, while following the Sandman, but while recovering encounters nightmares, and an entity totally beyond belief. Senator Fleight continues her relentless pursuit of Vince and Mirren, putting Sera, Jordan and their family in danger, but she has her reasons. Noah, a mind reader, manipulator and the lead singer of the Relevations, has plans for his followers and terrorises Maisie in the process.

Wow… just wow! This is by far the best and most heartbreaking book of the series, yet! And since I’m nearing the end, I’m sure the next (and last!) book in the series is going to blow my mind. I was reading this book while on “work breaks”, and I didn’t think I would finish it within an 8 hour work day (less than that, really). But I just could not put the book down. From the start, the action was fast and intense, and it didn’t stop. All of the characters we love and care about are being pushed to the limits emotionally and physically. I don’t want to call out specifics (for fear of being spoilery), but my heart is just breaking for “dldjd” and “ionwow” and… well, all of them! Bravo to Ms. Kellison for this book and entire series. The Reveler series is honestly one of the best I’ve read!

Ok, this installment was a horror movie meets the zombie apocalypse meets a corrupt government group who-takes-over-the-world-not-realizing-the-thing-they-worshipped-was-going-to-destroy-them, too. This one had freaky moments, sad moments, a few light moments, but all intense. Things have come to a head in the series. The Sandman has arrived and he is freaky as hell. I enjoyed it, but it was creepy at times. Not much of a romance, the couples have all been established and now the stories are just continuing the battle the couples face to save mankind from Nightmares and their leader, the Sandman. One story remains, I just hope all of the couples have a happy ending because honestly, I don't see a lot of hope of one happening (Which means it is good story telling).

This review is from: The Sandman: Reveler Series 7 (Kindle Edition)
I must admit....I was a little confused with this story. There seemed to be too much going on for me to comprehend....but then I settled down and got back on track. To say that this part of the story is mind boggling is an understatement. The Sandman has indeed risen and he is hell bent for who knows what. Steve Coll seems to be the answer to all of this , but we are not made aware of what his role is going to be. Maisie is just glad to have Steve back...but will she be able to keep him with her ?? Will Steve be able to find his way back?? And ultimately, will they be able to defeat the Sandman ???
