Anywhere But Here
What if you could see the future with a single touch? What if that touch revealed someone’s death, and that person was someone you loved? Would you do everything you could to change it?

In a post-apocalyptic world, where danger roams in many forms, seventeen-year-old Waverly seeks protection in the town of Crestwood after her boyfriend is ruthlessly killed by lawless raiders. But what she finds is a place wrought with mystery, shady dealings, and more instability than she anticipates.

Away From The Sun
Waverly holds the vial of red liquid in her hands. She doesn’t know what it is, or why it’s important. But she knows that the mysterious Shadowface wants it, and is willing to do anything to get it.
Waverly hides in the settlement of Elkhorn with Ethan, but it seems that Shadowface has eyes everywhere. Now Waverly must use her power—the ability to see glimpses of the future—to try and determine when Shadowface may strike. Not only does she discover death and destruction ahead, but a betrayal among comrades.
Time is running out and Waverly must find a way to save the only friend she has left—Ethan, defend the settlement of Elkhorn from annihilation, and stop Shadowface once and for all.

Into The Shadows
The ability to see into the future has only brought Waverly pain and suffering. She has been wrong about everything. Ethan...Remi...are all of them really dead?
Stuck in Shadowface's compound, Waverly meets a girl named Amber who is determined to escape. Through a simple touch, Waverly can see that she is destined to escape with her. But she knows it is not the end. Shadowface must be stopped.

Interesting read, storyline is unique, a little repetitive but remember the three were written with time apart, and looking forward to reading the next trio that hopefully closes the series

Seriously intense! Excellent read!

If you are into apocalyptic read them this series is for you! There is a creation (not going to go into detail) that causes an end to society as we know it, and people who try to make what's left over better for those left, and people who want power over those who are left. Who wins? You have to read this to find out! You'll not be disappointed! Excellent read!

I did enjoy this trilogy and I reviewed each part separately, so I will just say that overall, the story is well-written and a little different from the usual zombie genre.

The idea of the Starborns is fascinating and brings new interest to the story as a whole, taking it into the realm of fantasy and science-fiction.

Good characters and reasonable plot with heroes and villains and those in between.

A recommended read.

Awesome

I just finished the Starborn Ascension trilogy and fell right into it! I’m on my way to get the second trilogy. The characters were exciting to follow, who’s trustworthy and how did you miss knowing that person was playing you! The sisters, Waverly and Remi get in way over their heads, but they push on through! Glad I found this.

I am going to preface this by saying that in actually I read each book separately, however I read them straight back to back with no pause and never stopped to write my critique to do so now is too difficult so thought it would be better placed here.

I am not one much for the zombie apocalypse that are so popular at this time. However,. this particular story has something different within its story arc that I do find to be very interesting. Any who have read my critiques know I will not write of it here that is for you to find out as you read. After all the is the reason for reading the book not getting a cliff note version in a critique. Am I right or what???

What I can say is that Jason is an artist with his character portrayals in how they work together and against each other. Especially in their new reality. The many twists and turns that each make with their choices in how some separate and come together is orchestrated so well that the tension can be so bad there may be times you may need to get away from the book for a moment. But in the end you will be drawn back in because you will need to feel the release of that tension that will come.

I have enjoyed these books and look forward to the following three. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I did.

Not what I was hoping for

I'm not a fan of zombie stories, but i thought this trilogy sounded interesting. It started off great with Waverly coming into her powers and the reader catching glimpses of what was to come. The middle book was filled with backstabbing (literal and figurative) and grew quite boring. The 3rd book started off interesting again with Waverly imprisoned, but 1/3 of the way in I found myself skimming thru the betrayal and death and useless murdering. The "romances" we're WAY underdeveloped and almost pointless. I was hoping after 3 books the author would offer some type of closure, but he only leads us on into the next trilogy. I will NOT be reading more. I've had all the zombies I can handle.

One of my favourite things is to curl up with a great series and consume some fiction that grabs my imagination and keeps me turning the pages in spite of all the other work that needs to be done around me. This was one of those books. If you love a bit of Sci-Fi in your fiction, you will truly enjoy this mystery. The author did a great job of character development and of making one want to continue to turn pages right to the very end.

Book folk never ask the right questions or cotton on quick enough BUT I really enjoyed this trilogy and read it all in 2 days. Though fans of the post apocalyptic genre will recognize plenty of themes the book is very well written and the story just unique enough to make it fresh. Loved it. Just bought the next 3 and can't wait to get stuck in..

Good

This is a very good book. Full of action, mystery, friendships, and love. A book about what could happen in a future of the horrors that people will endure. So get your copy and enjoy reading.

Simply put, this is the best "zombie apocalypse" setting I have ever read. It's built to be very possible even, and maybe especially, the way the world currently is.

While technically Young Adult literature, this series is deep and complex enough to satisfy adult readers as well.

This was another book that I could not get on with. I could not put my finger on why, but after half an hour I had to put it away.

Starboard Ascension

Hope springs eternal on this Zombie apocalypse series. A twist is the Starborn genetics that become viable when great need arises.

Loved this series. The characters were amazing and so was the plot. Had some good twists that were not given away as you read. I was actually surprised when things connected.
