A bit frustating like Theo deserved better then someone who is always hurting him. Still I liked the book. I couldnt stopped reading.

I don't usually write any kind of negative review because I always try to focus on the positive of books but this book was all over the place.
Connor insists throughout the entire book "he's not gay", all while saying some very hurtful and messed up stuff to Theo. Theo gets upset, leaves, Connor comes running back but never once apologized for anything he did. Theo finally broke it off, both are heartbroken..then Theo gets hurt in a college hockey game, Connor comes running to the ice (which would never happen)..then again..no apology, no conversation, still doesn't admit he's anything but "not gay" but all is fine, they just kiss on the ice, *tada* they're together, here's the epilogue?
Like where is the apology? Or a conversation about all the things that happened? Why was Connor so against being anything but straight? I want to feel bad for him, he gets panic attacks yeah, he's clearly struggling with his sexuality but that's not reason enough for him to be so mean. The things he says to Theo are very hurtful, not to mention saying he forces himself on him without his consent..which is clearly untrue. Like give me anything! Then suddenly the last chapter he's okay with it all but never once says it out loud still btw and they get to live happily ever after?
Not to mention the rest of the book where for example, Connor is at a club with Logan. Who is Logan? We never met Logan ever before, they hang out that one night then Connor disappeared with Theo and we never hear of Logan again.
Connor gets slipped drugs apparently in his drink another night (also freshman in college btw how is he in all these bars and clubs?) Theo beats the guy up, the chapter ends and once again...never talked about again.
I could go on forever. The overall story had its possibilities but I can't get over how we just jumped chapter to chapter with no transition, things happened and were never spoken about again, and then Connor being an absolute ass with no explanation or apologies but apparently they're gonna live HEA? Who knows they never say I love you either so.

Ok it’s more a 3,5 or 3,75.

Theo & Connor story got my interest from the first moment I saw them on social media.

Theo is openly gay and flirting is his second nature.
Connor is straight and will remind it to you as many times as possible. He is also the little brother of Theo’s best friend.

But that doesn’t stop Theo. Theo will flirt and push Con’s buttons. Until he cracks.

What he didn’t expect is falling for Connor and having his heart bruised and broken over and over again by Connor.

And I did loved this push and pull and heartbreak.
So why not a 4 or 5 rating?

Some parts felt repetitive.
We would go from one POV to the other one and have some common thoughts like the author wanted to make sure we got the point.

There were also many editing issues that ruined a bit the flow of the story.
It’s a pity because it might influence the rating for many readers.

Really liked the main characters but this book was all over the place.
The editing, at least on kindle, is awful
There are so many sentences or paragraphs that appear twice with slightly different wording one after the other and it really throws you off whilst reading.

Also the main character has panic attacks and displays OCD tendencies that are literally never explained. He also has a battle with sexuality and the cause is never explained or even touched on. There is literally zero depth about the background of any of the characters.

I feel like the idea was good but the execution just wasn't done well at all.

A really cute read!

The plot was plotting and the spice was Spicey. I really loved both Mmcs, and the brother/ best friend side character. I liked the switch in dominance between the playboy and the shy boy. That was a good change of pace! I just would have liked more. I felt like the timeline was not expressed well, and a bit of character history to explain their current personality and triggers would have made the story even better. Overall it was a good read!

this was a slowwwww burn but oh so worth it!!

My heart repeatedly broke for Theo, honestly I wanted to jump in my screen and save him!! Connor you…… I wanted to shake him!! But.. he did good in the end!! I swear these boys tested me!! But the love, possessiveness and passion was enough to forgive them!! It’s an amazing read.

OMG I devoured this book. I legit couldn't put it down. The characters are so so so cute and just ugh work so well. The plot is an interesting one and I think that's what grabbed me so much. The spice was so good. Overall amazing. Read it.
