Blew thru this in one sitting, but only because I was hoping with every page it would get better. It’s not awful, but it fell kind of flat for me, and I usually love Bennett’s characters and slow burn writing. I didn’t feel there was much romance, no butterflies in my stomach, no will they/wont they. Towards the end I found myself more interested in if Woodsmen stadium would improve their facilities and processes around accessibility/accommodations for those with disabilities. I know Bennett turns around books pretty fast, so I’m not sure if this was rushed (there were def errors) or if she was bored/burned out by her own story. This one probably won’t be a re-read, but I still enjoyed parts and returning to the Woodsmen world.

It wasn't my favorite of JB because it tended to drag a little.
FMC really struggled with issues....like helping the "family business" or escaping it. I liked that part ...it felt real. But it went on forever and moved along with small growth moments. I liked that. The epilogue was sweet and satisfying.

another good one!

Love all Jamie’s books-the character developing it’s so good, I always feel like I know them personally. Please keep writing, I need more more books and more Woodsmen!

My monthly Jamie Bennett fix is in. Empty calories but I never miss one - most are tasty treats but some have that extra yummy topping. Not spice though, the spice is an awkward additive in these 🤣

I had to make myself finish reading this book. Nothing about this romance engaged my emotions.
