"Erlking" is a Commando Germanic Folklore story that takes place in the aftermath of the war, after Nazi Germany has already surrendered. The story follows a group of U.S Soldiers trying to capture a German officer. This leads the group to a village occupied by French Forces. There they meet Klara Hoffman, one of the village residents and the daughter of a Clock-maker, and together they find out that the children in the village are being kidnapped, never to be seen again. Some in the village believe mysterious, magical forces are behind the children's frequent disappearance - they believe it to be the work of a dark force that haunts the forest, which is called an 'Erlking'.
The so-called 'Erlking'.....
It was an enjoyable story but I feel it was let down by pacing issues. One thing I enjoyed was the little 'secrets' the writer had put throughout the story, that gave hints about this mysterious 'Erlking' spirit. Overall, not bad.
