66 Books. One Story. See How It All Fits Together.
Have you ever tried to read the Bible from beginning to end—only to find yourself wondering how all the people, places, events, and books fit together?
Perhaps you know many of the stories. You have heard of Abraham, Moses, David, the prophets, Jesus, and Paul. But where do they belong in the Bible's larger story? How does the Old Testament lead into the New? What happened between the Testaments? And how do the Bible's major teachings fit into everything else?
A Walkthrough of the A Complete Bible Guide was written to help answer those questions.
Rather than treating the Bible as a collection of disconnected books and stories, this guide takes you from Genesis to Revelation, showing how Scripture unfolds as one remarkable story.
Along the way, you
• Discover the overall structure of the Bible and how its 66 books are organized • Follow the major eras of biblical history from Creation through the early Church • Understand the people, places, kingdoms, and events that shaped the biblical world • See how the Old and New Testaments connect • Gain a clearer understanding of the Bible's historical and geographical setting • Explore the major doctrines and teachings of Scripture • Build a foundation that can make your own Bible reading and study more meaningful
Whether you are new to the Bible, returning to Scripture after years away, or have been reading it for decades but want to understand the larger picture, A Walkthrough of the Bible provides a clear framework for seeing how everything fits together.
Excellent book! Like many experiences that are based on Christanity- this book came at a time when I wanted to learn more about the Bible. This is a very understandable book and is an excellent look at each of the 66 books of the Bible individually and then how the Bible works as a whole. It’s wonderful to see how the Old Testament weaves in to the New Testament. And how the Bible is just as relevant to me now as it was thousands of years ago.
The second part of this book focuses on the geography, the literary forms, theological themes, and how personal stories of biblical characters are woven together. This was a bit harder for me to understand, but it made me realize how carefully scholars have continued to give us the Bible and it’s Good News.
I highly recommend this book. You will be the best person in your Bible Study class. “A Walkthrough of the Bible by Doug Kroeber.
