Rising Heat

Rate this book
My name is Darcy Elizabeth Reed, and three months ago, I blew up my entire life.

Okay, technically, I ended my engagement, packed up my ficus Gerald, and drove six hours from the suburbs of Philadelphia to Boston for a fresh start. Same thing.

What I didn't expect was my charming new apartment in the South End. Or my devastatingly hot firefighter landlords.

Who happen to be brothers.

Tyler is sunshine, trouble, and entirely too easy to talk to. His older brother Mack is opposite—steadier, stubborn, and always knows exactly which buttons to push. Together, they're funny, protective, and constantly downstairs reminding me that I'm supposed to be focusing on myself. Not them. Definitely not both of them.

The problem? They don't do relationships, they definitely don't do repeats, and whatever is happening between the three of us is supposed to be nothing more than a little harmless fun.

I'm determined to build a life that's mine and mine alone anyway. No more losing myself for someone else's comfort or making myself smaller to fit into someone else's plans. But every look, every late-night conversation, and every excuse to spend time together makes it harder to remember why I thought keeping things casual was such a good idea. Because the heat between us keeps rising.

And for the first time since leaving Pennsylvania, I'm starting to wonder if choosing myself and choosing love might not be mutually exclusive after all.

The banter, chemistry, and firefighter energy made this such a fun romance to get lost in.

Darcy’s fresh start brought her straight into the lives of Mack and Tyler, and their completely opposite personalities made the dynamic so entertaining. Tyler’s playful golden-retriever energy, Mack’s broody steadiness, and Darcy’s hilarious inner dialogue had me smiling constantly.

The relationship between all three felt natural and genuinely connected beyond the spice. I especially enjoyed watching Darcy become part of their little world, with the cute dates, protective moments, late-night conversations, and growing found-family feel. The supporting cast added even more personality, and Bex was such a standout.

There is definitely plenty of heat here, but the humor, emotional connection, and character development kept the story from being only about the spice. I flew through this one, laughed more than once, and had so much fun watching these three fall harder than they ever intended.

It was an addictive, feel-good romance that left me very happy I picked it up.

A sincere thank you to Elle Ricci and Love Notes PR for the ARC! 🥰📚

I’m so grateful for the early read. As always, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own. ✨

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
A lot of spicy scenes! They were so good.

I had such a fun time reading this book. In the first 10% of the book, I had this hilarious laugh out loud moment about the "hostage" ficus being strapped in and blinking for help. It sounds silly, but I promise I read it and was dying.

I think the only thing that threw me off were the couple of instances where they used the word 'sir' during a spicy scene. It felt out of place for all the MCs, but it was a minor thing.

This book is a contemporary romance where the FMC Darcy breaks off her engagement after realizing she's outgrown the relationship. She moves away, and her new landlord's are two firefighter brothers who are all about no strings because very few can see past the uniform. They all fall hard (and harder). It is such a sexy book, but it has so many good feels. Plus, you love all of the firehouse buddies and my favorite supporting character Bex, Darcy's bff. Minor 3rd act breakup, but it was all a misunderstanding quickly resolved with the HEA.

If you're into MFM, first responder romances with grumpy x sunshine x golden retriever MC's, found family, forbidden romance, and new beginnings, then this book is for you.

*Note: Thank you to the author for sharing eARC with me.

ARC Review 📚

Thank you, Elle Ricci, for the chance to read this as an ARC! I really enjoyed this romance, especially the banter and the different personalities of the brothers. Tyler was definitely my favorite. He was so funny and knew exactly how to poke and prod 😂

The romance was new to me, but I really enjoyed it! If you like a two brothers and a girl romance, definitely add this one to your TBR. I also loved the chemistry and watching the relationship slowly build into something more. ❤️

Darcy is new in town after breaking off her engagement. Tyler and Mack are looking to rent out the apartment in the top of their building. Sparks fly from the first meeting. Tyler is literally sunshine and Mack is calm quiet. I loved the development of the relationship and learning how to be in a relationship with 3 people. And the spice was so good. Thank you to Elle Ricci and Love Notes PR for the arc.

Full disclosure: I am NOT into MFM romance stories and yet, I am really shocked how much I liked this! The author did this sub-genre in a way that made me feel comfortable and also, the writing was fantastic. There was communication, there was trust, there were rules and a mutual respect for each other. The characters were also all very loveable and as a former first responder, the emergency situations were very relatable. Mack and Tyler created this safe space for Darcy and I feel that Elle Ricci did the same thing for her readers. I'm so glad that I gave a sub-genre, that I'm not used to reading, a chance because I ate this book up in like three days. I'm definitely looking forward to more by this author and the next book in the series!

I'm so obsessed. I can't stop reading. I love Darcy, she's so funny and relatable. Her inner dialogue is my favorite, we have the same reactions. I also love Mack and Tyler. I love how one of them is broody and the other is a bit of a golden retriever. And I love them all together of course. They're so cute, I was kicking my feet and giggling the entire time. I'm obsessed with the banter and the dialogue in general. Some scenes/dialogue was too good my jaw dropped, and I had to take a break from reading to silently scream (in a good way).

I'm also so obsessed with the writing. The way the scenes played out and were described was so good. I could imagine everything happening in my head like a movie.

I didn't want it to end, so I stalled reading the epilogue for a couple days, then I got too curious and read it anyway. I'm so sad the book is over, but I can't wait for the rest of the series!

Thank you so much Love Notes PR and Elle Ricci for this ARC!!

Rising Heat is hands down the best throuple romance I've read to date. I'll admit, the fact that the MMCs are brothers initially had me raising an eyebrow, but Elle Ricci handled the relationship so authentically that any hesitation disappeared almost immediately. The connection between all three characters felt genuine, emotional, and believable rather than existing purely for the shock factor.
The story follows Darcy, who arrives in a new town determined to escape the expectations that have shaped her entire life and finally discover who she is on her own terms. When she finds the perfect apartment, it comes with an unexpected bonus: two ridiculously attractive firefighter brothers who also happen to be her landlords. What follows is a heartfelt, steamy, and surprisingly emotional journey of self-discovery, healing, and finding a place where you truly belong. The rest? You'll have to read for yourself.
I absolutely devoured this book in less than 48 hours. It was the perfect palate cleanser between my heavy world-building fantasy reads and felt refreshingly different from a lot of romances I've picked up recently. The chemistry was off the charts, but what really stood out was how much heart this story had.
Releasing 10 September, I highly encourage romance readers to add this one to their TBR. If this is how the series starts, I can't wait to see what Elle Ricci has planned for Book 2.

Tyler, Mack, and Darcy's story was so good. Darcy moved to Boston for a fresh start and what she got was healing. Tyler and Mack started as a distraction but ended up being so much more. The chemistry was good and it was well written.

Rising Heat was such a pleasant surprise for me. I went into it
expecting a spicy romance, but what I appreciated most was
how much more there was to the story.
The characters felt developed, the relationship had time to
grow, and the pacing of both the romance and the spice worked
really well for me. Nothing felt ushed, and even once things got
heated, the story never became centered around it.
This was a solid 4 stars read for me. I really enjoyed the story,
the characters and the way Elle Ricci built the relationship. It
didn’t quite give me that “WOW” that would push it to a 5 starts,
but I was genuinely impressed and I’m definitely curious to read
more from this author.

Rising Heat is the 1st book of the Hearts on Fire Series by Elle Ricci. RISING HEAT is a spicy MFM romance written by a human author.

Suppose you strike a match; sometimes that is the only thing you can do to discover what remains after the smoke has cleared.

Rising Heat, the first in Elle Ricci's Hearts on Fire Series, makes your heart race and softens you in the middle of the first chapter. Whether or not you're sitting quietly on the couch reading it, you'll end up gripping your palms just as the story does, and without realizing it, you'll melt into the warm and touching scenes. You won't be able to take your eyes off it, and you'll end up spending an entire afternoon reading through it without stopping.

Darcy is absolutely fearless in every situation and has long been tired of the same old routine. Having kept her dissatisfaction from the previous relationship inside until she could stand it no longer, she resolved to cut it short. She risked everything, not only moving to Boston but also plunging right into a life that she would have had the strength to imagine before. Her new landlords are two extremely charismatic firefighter brothers. What began as a simple intention to restart her life in a new city has turned her brand-new beginning into something that had only ever been part of her fantasies. If good luck could have a human face, then that face would be Darcy's: flames flash in the background, sparks fly faster than she can keep up with, and all she can do is smile brightly and laugh continuously.

The tension between them is spilling over; each of the exchanges they have on the page causes you to hold your breath and makes you worry that turning the page will break the thick suspense that's hanging in the air. The magnetic attraction between them starts at the very slightest touch; just something as small as their fingertips brushing each other is enough to make readers' hearts race. There's a seductive feeling in this story of secret love: you are fully aware that the two main characters shouldn't cross that line, yet you can't help but want them to break through it. I finished the book in less than a day; it's that addictive. I couldn't put it down and, in fact, wanted to hold the book and turn a few more pages while I was eating. When I had finally closed it, all the scenes were still going through my mind, and it took me a long time to get back to normal.

The cast feels as vibrant as a five-alarm fire:

Tyler, the younger brother and co-leading romantic interest, is charming, playful and naturally flirtatious. Each scene in which he appears becomes lively and manages to infect the reader with his easy, light-hearted spirit.

Mack, on the other hand, is the exact opposite: he is quiet and carries around silent concerns, so that the thoughts he keeps hidden behind his silence are never clear. Nevertheless, whatever happens, he remains steady and reliable; merely standing there in silence, he has an enticing presence that draws the eye directly to him.

Don't fail to notice all the other vivid supporting characters in the book as well; each of them is just as three-dimensional as though they had jumped off the page, possessing their own little idiosyncrasies, and each one has the potential for their own story to be brought to life, particularly you two, Ryan and Bex!

If you're seeking a light, exciting, and happy book as a way of escaping the various irritations of everyday life and wanting to create for yourself a little safe refuge in which to catch your breath, then Rising Heat is exactly the right choice for you.

As soon as you start reading the book, you'll find yourself taken in by this group of lively characters. By the way, you may want to have a fan at hand to keep yourself cool while you're reading; all the heat in this book will certainly leave your ears feeling hot.

Rising Heat 🌅
Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Elle Ricci for trusting me with this ARC!🔥
Ficus Gerald & Darcy are off to Boston.
After a called off engagement, and a remote job that gives her the freedom to go away from anyone,Darcy decides to move in the other side of the country, without knowing that her real life is starting just now.
Tyler & Mack are polar opposites in this life, until they get into bed.In here they transform to one.
But they don't do relationships & Darcy won't get her heartbroken, again.

Rising Heat is my new guilty pleasure.
If you know me,you will have already understood that in romances I go with specific options,so when I am choosing to read something totally out of my comfort zone, this pick must be GOOD! & yes,Ricci's book was my first FIVE,yes,FIVE stars read after a good amount of time.
To start with,I absolutely fell in love with how magnetic her writing was.To take into consideration,Rising Heat is sliding towards the chunkier books in the scale, yet I was unable to stop reading.I was so interest on how Darcy is about to form her life on this new circumstances, how Mack and Tyler, are gonna get into that girlie's heart and lastly to absolute giggle my feet as those never-having-a-relationship hot firefighters, get into a romance that they would never believe themselves being in it.
Now,Darcy was a spicy woman, that have never gotten the chance to get that part of herself in the surface, with our two boys taking that chance, to alter her whole universe upside down, while getting her into an other dimension approximately every 20 pages.Yes,SPICY,SPICY.🌶️Meaning,that if you really vibe with those books Rising Heat will get you on the moon.Talking about Tyler and Mack, those two had a really sweet backstory to even begin with.Their brotherhood was constantly there and the reader truly sees how siblings shape you to the man you are today. If you ask me I truly believe they waited for Darcy to complete the gang.By the way,my sweet girl had NO IDEA how her life was gonna go,and I just can imagine her shock the first time she learned EVERYTHING,such a hilarious and cute moment at the same time🥰!As for their romance,I adored that accompanied by cute dates and a true will for connection, were the spicy moments. Those boys did not only fell in love like absolute fools, but really wanted to make everything special for their woman.I mean having 1 man do that thing in other stories have been, but 2 GIRL-.
Wrapping it all up,Rising Heat is a spicy, addictive story ,for specific eyes only, that,of course, can be your next 5 star read!

This is a sweet yet spicy contemporary romance, and let me first start by saying that I will always have a soft spot for a woman finally telling her shitty ex to fuck off and choosing herself instead.
I loved watching Darcy leave her past with stupid fucking Brett (gave me the absolute ick, btw) behind and finally choose the life she was always meant to lead. And finding the loves of her life along the way? Just the cherry on top. 🥹

There’s the obvious fun-brother/responsible-brother dynamic at play with Tyler and Mack, and I went in expecting it to feel kinda eh, but thankfully, the book doesn’t lean on the cliché as heavily as I expected. That said, I do wish Mack had been given more room to exist as a person beyond being grumpy and in control. Tyler’s chapters showed a lot of his genuine insecurity and history underneath all that easy charm, and I really loved his vibe throughout. There were just a few points where he felt slightly overshadowed by Mack in a way that didn’t feel entirely fair to his character, imo.

Apart from that, I really wish we could have delved a little deeper into the brothers’ backstory. Something that would have helped us understand how they grew into such different personalities while still remaining so fiercely protective of each other and having each other’s backs through thick and thin. I think that would have added another layer to their relationship for me.

My favourite character, hands down, is Bex. She’s amazing, and I would put money on the next book in this world being hers, which I am absolutely here for. Honestly, I want more of the entire firehouse crew too. Coop, Marco and Trick were all interesting enough in their own right that I’d happily read a full book from any of their POVs.

One thing I wish had been handled better: the DP scenes (iykyk). They felt sorta rushed, and I have to ask, how is Darcy taking it from behind with zero prep and zero lube in her first few scenes? Especially when the book makes a point of showing that Brett perhaps never bothered with that kind of attention to her at all. The dirty talk, on the other hand? Filthy and top tier all the way. 🫡

One last thing, and this is more about the ARC I received than the story itself: I read this on the Kindle app because it wouldn’t open properly anywhere else (I tried a lot of book-reading apps), and even then, the formatting was pretty uneven. There were gaps in strange places that kept pulling me out of the story enough that I nearly considered DNFing early on. Glad I stuck it out.

Overall, a fun, sexy romance that just needed a little more depth in a few key places to be truly great.

3.75 stars rounded up to 4. ⭐️

Thank you to the author and Love Notes PR for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Rising Heat Indeed by Elle Ricci

This book surprised me in all the best ways.  Elle Ricci is a new author to me and what a beautifully complex, rich story she wrote.  Darcy leaves her life in the Philadelphia suburbs and heads to the wonderful city of Boston, after ending her engagement to Brett.  Darcy is ready for a new start, to stop making herself small to fit into this mold that someone else expects her to fit into.  She is ready to stand on her own two feet, grow her professional career as a freelance graphic designer, and create a life that is hers.  What she did not count on when she moved into her new brownstone:  Her too hot🔥 to handle firefighter landlords.  The kicker:  they are brothers!

Tyler is sunshine in a bottle.  Funny, flirty, light hearted, sweet.  He knows the role people expect him to play and he is okay with it, because if people are distracted by the fun side, they don't realize how caring and observant he really is.  And then there's Mason "Mac" MacAllister, the broody, serious, by the book older brother with the devastating smirk.  They have a very close relationship.  They are used to sharing everything, including women, but they have two major rules:  No repeats and they do not date the women they share.  The curveball:  They never saw Darcy coming.  Will they change their rules?  Will they risk losing their close relationship for the potential of the love of a lifetime?  Or will they embark on the road never traveled and open their hearts to a new possibility?

I loved everything about this book!  Ricci's love for Boston is palpable in the words used to describe the heartbeat of the city.  It transported me back to my college days as a student at BU.  The relationship between Darcy and her best friend Bex is everything we love: truthful, honest, fun, hilarious, transparent.  And let's not even talk about the perfect banter between the brothers and their fellow firefighters and friends from Engine 37.  The writing is witty, clever, rich, hilarious, and everything we love about men when they get together and have one beer too many.  The heat is scorching in this one 🥵, but what I loved the most was Darcy's character development throughout the book.  She went from making herself small to finding that piece of herself she had lost a long time ago and the changes that occur when you are finally comfortable in your own skin.  When you are truly seen for who you are and accepted for all the small idiosyncrasies that make you special and unique.  If you love:

🔥 Strangers to Friends to Lovers
🔥 MFM
🔥 Sexy firefighters
🔥 Discovery of your true self
🔥 Great family dynamics
🔥  Perfect banter
🔥 Alpha males
🔥 Female Friendship
🔥 An ex that is put in his place

Then Rising Heat is the book for you.  Scorching 5 stars.  I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.  Thank you so much to Elle Ricci for giving me the chance to read this book!

💌 𝐀𝐑𝐂 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: Rising Heat

Thank you so much Elle Ricci & LovenotesPR for trusting me with this ARC! Receiving this book did not influence my review — my thoughts are always honest 💕

⭐️ Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🌶️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

📱 Format: Kindle

💬 Favorite Quote:
“ Wanting more doesn’t make you difficult. It makes you honest.”

💭 My Thoughts:

First things first… I hate Brett but legally I have to say GO BIRDS! 🦅😂

OKAY. NOW onto the actual review.

Rising Heat was SCORCHING. Like… somebody please call the fire department. Oh wait. THE MEN ARE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. 🚒🥵

This was my first book by this author and I was immediately hooked. I was locked IN. I needed to know how Darcy was going to handle her new reality, how Mack and Tyler were going to worm their way into her heart, and how these two men who apparently had ZERO plans to ever be in a relationship somehow ended up falling for their girl.

And Darcy?! BABE. She was a spicy little thing who just needed the right two men to bring that side of her out. Mack and Tyler said, “Oh, you didn’t know you had this side of yourself?” and proceeded to turn her entire world upside down.

The chemistry between these three was 🔥🔥🔥 and the spice was SPICY. Like… girl, I was reading this with my eyebrows somewhere near my hairline.

But what really got me was the relationship between Mack and Tyler. Their brotherhood was EVERYTHING. You could really feel how much they loved and cared for each other, and watching Darcy slowly become part of their little unit was so freaking sweet. Honestly, I think they were just waiting for their missing puzzle piece to show up.

And these men??? They were DOWN BAD. The cute dates, the effort, the way they wanted to make Darcy feel special… excuse me while I go scream into a pillow.

Basically, I came for the firefighters and stayed because these three had me fully invested in their relationship. Was it spicy? YES. Was I giggling? YES. Did I occasionally need to put my Kindle down and stare at the wall? ALSO YES.

✨ Tropes & Vibes:
🚒 Protective firefighter MMCs
🔥 MFM romance
💞 Found family
🥵 VERY spicy
😂 Banter + cute moments
🫠 Two men absolutely DOWN BAD
💕 Falling in love when they never planned to

Overall: Rising Heat is spicy, addictive, chaotic in the best way, and basically two hot firefighters deciding one woman is now their entire personality. What more could a girl ask for?

ARC REVIEW

"Rising Heat"
(Hearts on Fire Book 1)

by Elle Ricci

Tropes:
MFM
Brothers who share
👩🏽‍🚒Firefighters
Sunshine x Grumpy (brothers)

Well, honesty first: I requested this ARC because... it's 🌶️brothers who share🌶️, ma'am. Sometimes you just gotta go with the flow and just hope for the spice 🙈

Darcy left her fiancée after 3 years of a toxic relationship.
She moves to Boston and rents an apartment in the third floor of a brownstone.
Her landlords and neighbors, Tyler and Mack MacAllister, are brothers who are firefighters, work at the same station, and share 😏everything😏 in their lives.

Contrary to what I expected, it is a slow burn. The story builds around them knowing each other, being neighbors, and their work lives too.
The spice starts at ~45%, on a snow storm night. They are playing a ´never have I ever´ game and when she finds the truth about them, she knows she wants that and them.
Together. Sharing her.

Congratulations to the author because it is her debut.

Thank you to the author & LoveNotesPR for this ARC

This is an absolutely scorching hot MFM romance, pun fully intended!! It’s emotional and steamy. The spice hits with the force of a five alarm blaze!! There’s so much emotional intensity between the FMC and the two firefighters she ends up living with. The tension, the vulnerability, the way their personalities strike sparks off each other, it all builds into a heart pounding connection that feels impossible to look away from.

The FMC, Darcy, doesn’t just leave home, she leaves a version of herself she can’t bear to keep living with. When she finally looks at her life with clear eyes, she sees a fiancé who makes her feel small, muted, and folded in on herself. The kind of relationship where you shrink to fit someone else’s comfort. Walking away isn’t easy, but it’s the first brave thing she’s done for herself in a long time.

Boston becomes her reset button. She’s freelancing, rebuilding, choosing independence even when it scares her. And moving into an apartment owned by two firefighters, brothers Tyler and Mack, is supposed to be a practical decision. Instead, it becomes the place where she remembers what it feels like to take up space again.

Tyler is the first to fall. He’s warm, funny, and open in a way that makes Darcy feel seen without being overwhelmed. Mack is the opposite because he’s serious, intense, and grounded. He watches her with a kind of quiet focus that feels like gravity. Together, they create a dynamic that’s not just compelling, it’s utterly captivating. I blushed a lot, the scenes with all three of them were H-O-T!!

I really loved how the relationship between the three of them becomes a safe place for Darcy to expand. Tyler brings ease. Mack brings steadiness. Darcy brings the spark that shifts both men in different ways. Their connection is built on trust, emotional honesty, and the slow, steady realization that she doesn’t have to shrink herself to be loved.

Rising Heat is an insanely spicy romance about choosing yourself first and then choosing the people who love you for who you are. These three are truly meant to be!

A huge thank you Elle Ricci & Love Notes PR for the early copy!

Rising Heat is the first book in the Hearts on Fire series, and it’s a spicy why choose firefighter and tenant romance that I enjoyed, but found myself wishing had just a little more to the story.

This is definitely a spicy read. There are both MF and MFM intimate scenes, so I recommend checking the trigger warnings before picking this one up to make sure it’s a good fit for you.

This book follows Darcy, Tyler, and Mack. Darcy was engaged to Brett, a man who always wanted things his way. When Darcy finally decides to end their relationship, she leaves Philadelphia and heads to Boston, where she finds an apartment owned by firefighter brothers Tyler and Mack.

I ended up giving Rising Heat 3.5 stars. While I enjoyed the story and the characters, I especially wanted more from Mack. He was the broody one of the two brothers, and I found myself wanting to understand more about what made him the way he was. I had so many questions about his past and what shaped his personality. Did he have a bad experience in a previous relationship? Why did he choose to wait for Tyler to go to the academy? I just wanted a little more of Mack’s backstory and a better understanding of what was going on beneath the surface.

Tyler, on the other hand, was the fun, carefree younger brother who seemed to have very few reservations. I enjoyed the contrast between the two brothers and their different personalities.

One character I absolutely loved was Darcy’s friend, Bex. I was so happy when she eventually moved to Boston, too. I really hope she becomes an FMC in one of the future books and gets her own happily ever after because I would definitely be interested in reading her story.

While Rising Heat wasn’t a favorite for me, I’m still interested in continuing the Hearts on Fire series and getting to know the Station 37 guys. Coop in particular has already caught my attention, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for his story.

Thank you to the author and Love Notes PR for the opportunity to read an ARC of Rising Heat!

Rating: 3/5
Spice: 3/5
Tropes/themes: why choose, throuples, neighbors, forced proximity

Darcy realizes she's been stuck in a relationship with an emotional manipulator, and as their wedding date approaches, she feels less and less herself. She decides to 'blow up' her life: she breaks off her engagement, packs all her belongings and drives through the night to move to Chicago where she schedules an apartment viewing.

Tyler, one of the owners of the building, meets Darcy for the viewing and immediately sees something in her. She is smart, beautiful, punctual, and Tyler can see she's trying to rebuild her life and be independent. He's interested and gives her the keys to the apartment that day - no background check or references needed. Mack, Tyler's brother and the other owner of the building, is horrified. As the rule enforcer, type A, plan-ahead type brother, he thinks Tyler's thinking with his dick and not being smart about the decision. But once Mack meets Darcy, he's intrigued too. Here's a woman that will stand her ground, argue back, and give him grief.

Tyler and Mack are used to women wanting them because they are firefighters and have even shared women. Darcy comes as a surprise: she wants to know them as people, not as firefighters. They start growing a friendship and Darcy is loving how supportive and protective they can be. She likes both of them but is unsure about being with both of them. As they embark on a throuple relationship, there are some logistics to work out and feelings to identify and declare.

This was a pretty good, steamy, surface level romance. Nothing went that deep - it would definitely need to be longer to better explore the characters and the relationship. Although the MFM steamy scenes in theory could be very hot, in actuality they were lacking in detail and kind of glossed over. I would have preferred more detail.

"I've never had much interest in being anybody's good boy. But Darcy, barely awake in my t-shirt with her hair still a mess from sleep and that look in her eyes, could ask me for the world right now and I'd hand it over without a second thought."

I'm Obsessed with the MacAllister brothers. Mack and Tyler really are opposites making up two halves of a whole and Darcy fits right in with them. Both boys knew from the beginning that Darcy was different from anyone else in their lives which caused them to keep their distance. But after getting snowed in together, everything changed for all three of them.

I love Darcy, I think she's hilarious, and I loved the way she fit right in with the MacAllister brothers, almost as if she was always there. I loved the scenes of the three of them just hanging out in the apartment. As well as the group hangouts with the rest of the guys at the bell, those always made for a good giggle. Especially when Bex was in town.

Bex is another amazing character. She was such a great friend to Darcy, and she always kept it real. I loved her texts that were added throughout the book and her visit was such a treat. Bex and Darcy were a perfect fit for those Boston boys.

I also really loved the way this m/f/m relationship was handled. Mack and Tyler were amazing at communicating with each other (although, they probably could've shared those thoughts with Darcy a bit sooner) and that helped them avoid any jealousy issues. It was very refreshing and they made it a point to avoid making it Darcy's problem. Respect.
It was a little weird remembering that they were full on brothers at times, but it was still a cute story, and it really did fit their dynamic.

Overall, great book and amazing characters!
So grateful to have had the ARC opportunity for this one

Rising Heat was such a fun read! I went into this one expecting a spicy why-choose romance, but I ended up loving how much more there was to the story. ❤️‍🔥

I really enjoyed following Darcy as she started over and tried to figure out what she actually wanted for herself. Leaving behind the life she thought she was supposed to have and starting completely over wasn’t easy, and I loved getting to watch her slowly become more confident in herself and her decisions.

And then we have Mack and Tyler… TWO firefighter brothers?! I loved how different they were from each other and how they each brought something completely different to their relationship with Darcy. Their personalities balanced each other so well, and the banter and chemistry between all three of them made this book so much fun.

One thing I really appreciated was that their relationship didn’t feel like it was built around the spice. There were actual feelings and connections being developed along the way. I loved the little moments between them just as much as the spicy ones—the dates, conversations, protective moments, and the way Darcy slowly found a place where she felt like she belonged. 🥹❤️

Now don’t get me wrong… the spice was definitely spicing. But I loved that it felt like an addition to the story instead of the entire story.

I also really enjoyed the side characters! They added so much personality and made me even more invested in this little world. And Bex? I absolutely loved her.

Overall, Rising Heat gave me everything I wanted from a why-choose romance—banter, chemistry, emotion, character growth, two ridiculously hot firefighters, and plenty of spice. I had such a good time with this one and definitely flew through it!

Thank you so much to Elle Ricci and Love Notes PR for the ARC! 🫶🏼✨

⭐⭐ 4.25/5 stars ⭐⭐

RIGHT. So apparently all it takes for me to become a woman entirely without shame is two firefighters, one hopeless romantic named Darcy, and a beige ex-boyfriend I've never met but already have opinions about. Rising Heat did NOT play fair, and I loved every second of it.

Let's start with Darcy, because she said "new town, new me" and then proceeded to prove she meant it. No more putting up with lukewarm men who make you smaller. She moves hours away for a fresh start and instead finds... considerably more than a fresh start. You go, Darcy. Genuinely. Live your best life. Live several lives, in fact, given how this book goes.

Tyler and Mack though. THEM. Firefighters. Landlords. Absolute wise-cracking menaces to my peace of mind. I am not saying I'd do what Darcy did (I am absolutely saying that, I would do exactly what Darcy did, no notes, no hesitation), but the way these two were written to be genuinely different people rather than just Two Hot Men Copy Pasted was such a relief. The banter alone could power a small fire station.

This is pure, unfiltered spice, and I mean that as the highest compliment. Smut-loving girlies, this one's for you... just maybe not during your lunch break unless you enjoy the specific thrill of reading filth while making unbroken eye contact with your coworker. I read this in two days flat because it had that exact rhythm of toe curling, giggling to myself, then jaw dropping and frantically checking I was still alone in the room. A whole emotional journey, really. Mostly located below the neck.

Bring on book two, I will be first in the queue, feral and ready.

Thank you LoveNotesPR and Elle Ricci for providing this ARC of Rising Heat in exchange for my review.

Rising Heat was a fun, spicy read, but unfortunately it didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

I really liked the setup of Darcy leaving her old life behind, moving to Boston and finding herself living above two very different firefighter brothers. Tyler was the fun, carefree one, while Mack was definitely the more broody and mysterious of the two. I really enjoyed the contrast between them and the dynamic between all three characters.

And yes… this book is SPICY. There are both MF and MFM scenes, so definitely check the trigger/content warnings before picking this one up.

One of my favourite characters was actually Bex, Darcy’s best friend. I absolutely loved her energy and honestly would happily read a whole book about her! I’m really hoping she gets her own story somewhere down the line.

My biggest issue was that I just wanted more from Mack. I found myself really curious about his past and what had made him the way he was, but I felt like I was left wanting more of that deeper character development. There were so many little things about him that made me want to understand him better.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and the characters, but I think I was looking for a little more depth alongside the spice.

That said, I’m definitely interested in continuing with the Hearts on Fire series because I want to get to know the other Station 37 guys! Cooper has already caught my attention, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for his story.

****ARC READER REVIEW****

Rising Heat had me sweating, pacing, and occasionally whispering “Darcy, babe, RUN” into the air like a ghost with opinions. She doesn’t just leave home, she ejects herself from a life where she’s been folded, compressed, and emotionally origami’d into someone else’s comfort. And honestly? Good for her.

Boston becomes her “new game, new character build” reset, and suddenly she’s living with two firefighters who were supposed to be a practical housing solution but instead become the emotional equivalent of a controlled burn. Tyler is sunshine in human form, Mack is brooding gravity, and Darcy is out here rediscovering what it feels like to take up space without apologizing for existing.

Their dynamic?
Chaotic.
Tender.
Explosive.
I spent half the book clutching my face like a Victorian woman seeing a man roll up his sleeves.

Tyler makes her feel safe. Mack makes her feel steady. Darcy makes them both rethink their entire emotional architecture. Watching her expand finally choosing herself, finally refusing to shrink was honestly the best part of the whole story.

Yes, I blushed. Yes, I had to set the book down and breathe. Yes, the three‑way tension nearly sent me into orbit.

My only complaint is that I occasionally wanted to shake all three of them like snow globes, but the emotional payoff? Worth it.

Rising Heat is about choosing yourself first, then choosing the people who actually see you. These three?
They’re endgame.

🚨 SPOILER ALERT: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I am giving Rising Heat by Elle Ricci a passionate 4-star review! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

A scorching, emotional MFM romance set in Boston that completely blew me away with its incredible main leads, protective firefighter energy, and fiery chemistry! 🔥👨‍🚒🚒✨

The Review
Rising Heat by Elle Ricci (Book 1 in the Hearts on Fire series) was such a personal and deeply relatable read for me! When Darcy packs up her life, leaves Philadelphia, and moves into a South End apartment with her ficus Gerald, you immediately root for her journey of self-discovery and standing on her own two feet.

Then come her insanely hot firefighter landlords and brothers—Tyler and Mack! Tyler brings all the sunshine, charm, and easy banter, while Mack provides that steady, stubborn, push-your-buttons energy that makes your heart race. Watching Darcy navigate her dynamic with both brothers while reclaiming her independence hit all the right notes for me. The chemistry between all three of them is absolute fire, making it a swoony, high-heat 4-star read!

The Good
A relatable and funny heroine (Darcy!), top-tier firefighter MMC dynamics with Tyler and Mack, magnetic MFM chemistry, and an empowering fresh-start storyline!

The Not So Good
The emotional boundary-setting and internal hesitations take a bit of time to sort through in the middle, but the romantic payoff is worth every second!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’m not even going to lie, I was already SUPER excited when I saw how many pages this book had. 🥲 I don’t know what it is, but I genuinely love a long book—it somehow makes me enjoy the reading experience even more.

Rising Heat had me hooked from the very beginning. What I especially loved was how much the author made me feel alongside the FMC. You really get to understand how difficult such a huge decision must be: ending an engagement, leaving everything behind, and moving to a completely new city like Boston. Her emotions and doubts felt very real, and I loved being able to experience that journey with her.

And honestly, when I see that a book is a why choose, I sometimes go into it expecting it to be heavily focused on the spice. But this book had SO much more to offer than that. The author clearly took the time to properly develop the main characters, and I really appreciated that. They felt like actual characters with their own personalities, emotions, and stories rather than just being there for the romance.

And yes… having TWO ridiculously hot firefighters definitely didn’t hurt. 🥵🔥

The spice in this book was honestly just the cherry on top for me. It added to the story rather than being the entire story, which made me enjoy it so much more.

Overall, Rising Heat gave me a great combination of character development, emotions, romance, and spice, and I had such a good time reading it. Definitely a book that kept me interested from start to finish! ❤️

Thank you to Elle Ricci and Love Notes PR for the early copy of the ebook!

I’m a sucker for a good starting over story, and that was one of my favorite parts of Rising Heat. Darcy was a relatable FMC in the sense we watch her rebuild herself after being made to feel like she took up “too much space” in her previous relationship. Moving away gave her the chance to start fresh and find herself again, and realize that she was never too much at all, quite literally finding TWO men who make her feel like she deserves all the space in the world.

Enter the firemen brothers, Mack and Tyler. Mack is intense, brooding, and definitely brings that harder energy. Tyler is more open, charismatic, and funny. I enjoyed how different their personalities were and still seeing the bond between them as brothers. A little more backstory would have helped me connect with their characters, though.

The spice was definitely steamy without feeling overdone. I’d say this is more of a book to pick up when you’re in the mood for a fun, spicy read rather than something you’re looking for to be deep, emotional or thought provoking. But sometimes that’s exactly what you want, and in my case, Rising Heat was a fun escape.

Also… NEVER have I ever thought a game of Never Have I Ever would end up like THAT.

Okay, I think I’ve found another thing I absolutely need in my life… HOT FIREFIGHTERS. 🚒🔥
Rising Heat by Elle Ricci was such a fun, spicy read!
Darcy packs up her life, leaves her old life behind and heads to Boston for a fresh start, only to end up living above two ridiculously hot firefighter brothers. Tyler is the sunshine, charming one, while Mack is the more serious, stubborn one who knows exactly how to push Darcy’s buttons. And the chemistry between the three of them? 🔥🔥🔥
I loved Darcy! She’s determined to find herself again and build a life that belongs to HER, and I really enjoyed watching her navigate that while trying not to fall for two men who were very much NOT supposed to be part of her plans.
Tyler and Mack were such a great combination because they’re so different, but together they just WORK. The banter, the tension, the protectiveness and the chemistry had me hooked.
And let’s be honest… two hot firefighter brothers?! I was never going to say no to that. 😂
There were so many funny moments, plenty of spice, and just enough emotional depth to make me completely invested in these three.
The perfect book for when you want something fun, spicy, swoony and packed with firefighter goodness. 🚒🔥
Five stars from me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Now excuse me while I go look suspiciously at every firefighter I see

eARC received for an honest review.

When I burn through a book that’s so good I am usually so sad it’s ended. And yep. Here I am.

We’ve got one leading lady with two stunning men who are brothers. Firefighter brothers. Brothers who share… well damn. Sign me up!

FMC is Darcy, she’s starting fresh after a heartache and really needs to find herself. She’s quick, smart and enjoys the little things (and big things…not sorry!!)

MMC Brothers are Tyler and Mason. Ooooh my goodness. The mental image created was amazing. And these brother’s POVs were written so well. Tyler has a quick smile and Mason has a quick retort. They fire up the FMC so well.

It’s a low drama book, it’s a safe read, but the build up, the want and the banter. Ah-maze-ing.

My only issue was the speech. During multiple conversations I got confused about who was speaking. Sometimes even a reread wouldn’t clear it up. There’s speech on different lines but no ‘he said’ ‘she said’ ‘character sighed/stated/asked’. It’s just words stated - so during a conversation with more than two people I’m thinking…who said that?? Honestly, even between two people.

But don’t let that put you off. I genuinely devoured this book and I am so keen for number two (and hopefully more!).

Amazing work from a new author.

🔥MMC firefighters
🔥MFM
🔥Brothers who “share”
🔥Medium burn
🔥New girl in town

Release date - September 10th 📆

“ So what if you lit the match? Sometimes that’s what it takes to see what’s left when the smoke clears.”

This was such a fun and hot read! Firefighters dare I say more🔥🥵

We have our FMC Darcy who leaves an unhappy relationship and packs up and moves her life to a whole new place in Boston! Her new landlords just so happen to be 2 very hot firefighters who are brothers, let’s just say her luck is turning👀

Things start to heat up, tension builds, forbidden moments where it’s the “we shouldn’t, but it feels so right” kind of moments, I absolutely loved this. This is perfect for when you want a nice fun easy read, I devoured the book in less than a day✨

The characters are so likeable and the MMCs were exact opposites. We have Tyler who is the fun, flirty cheeky one🤪 and Mack who is the responsible, mysterious and brooding one👀

Not only the MMCs, but there are a lot of characters in this book who all had their own personalities that you couldn’t help but like, and there is definitely Easter eggs I would say to some of them having their own stories, Ryan and Bex IYKYK😉

Everyone save the date and make sure to get your copy✨
