After grabbing her pen (and a parachute) she made the jump to full-time writer. Between writing sweet romance and sweet romantic comedy, Melinda finds time to bond with her husband over home remodeling projects. She recently came to grips with the fact that she’s an empty nester and a grandma, concepts easier to grasp than jet-setting on a potty.

Review of advance copy
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, given to me by Tule Publishing via BookFunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A captivating and exquisitely written story, “The Cowboy’s Christmas Twins”, by Melinda Curtis, revisits some romance novel tropes while being a beautiful insight into love, closeness, family and fatherhood.
I loved a lot of things – or everything – about this story: the characters, the deep emotional connection instantly felt but slowly built by hard-won trust between Colt and his boys, the yearning, regret and passion between Colt and Josie.
The wounded hero seeking redemption, the second chance and secret sons themes are explored in a light, visual, almost cinematic prose (lots of showing!), full of sensitivity, depth and humor.
Some scenes are fun, even hillarious, while others are tender and sweet.
I adored Colt, Josie, Wyatt and Levi – equal yet so different, and so close – and the secondary characters.
The process of bonding and building affection between Colt and the boys is a joy to watch, as is the groveling with Josie.
The honesty between the leads and the absence of melodrama are admirable.
A wonderful read! To reread.

When Colt Bennett left town eight years ago, a broken promise and a broken heart aren’t all he left Josie Whitaker with. Now he’s back in town recuperating from a rodeo accident and planning to get the ranch he inherited ready for sale. No hanging around longer than necessary. Imagine his surprise when he sees Josie has twin boys who look just like him.
Josie has rebuilt her life, started a business, and raised her boys by herself. She’s planning to open an antique store adjacent to her florist shop. She doesn’t need more heartbreak, and she certainly doesn’t need the hearts of her boys broken by the father they just met.
In an effort to get to know the boys, Colt volunteers to help Josie renovate the building she’s using for her antique store. He also gives her free access to a treasure of antiques that have been in storage for years at his ranch. Colt vows to be a good father to the boys and give them the best Christmas ever, but his co-parenting will have to be done from a distance because he has no plans to stick around. He knows he’s not good enough for Josie and his sons. Can Josie and the boys convince him otherwise?

Colt Bennett has come back to Brentwood Creek to recover from bronc riding accident. He left eight years ago with promise to Josie Whittaker that he would be back... That never came to pass. Now he gets the surprise of his life when he finds out he left more than Josie behind, but twin boys.
Josie has built a life for her and her boys. She has a flower shop and plans to expand that, but her real dream, besides Colt, was to work her family ranch. But she soon found out that she could not have either of those dream. Now with Colt's return will she find out if her and her boys will have their hearts broken when Colt is well enough to leave or will this be the best Christmas ever. As once again Colt makes a promise and will he keep it.
I love this small town of Brentwood Creek and the Bennett family. Each has their own unique way, especially their Grandmother, who they adore but is having some medical problems with memory and the things she come up with are so amusing, yet so loving that she steals your heart. And the two little boys, well they are just adorable and with their Christmas wishes you just want them all to come true.
Colt and Josie have so much history that you can't help but hope that the season of miracles and wishes makes all their dreams come true too.
A wonderful holiday read in a small town that will put the joy in the season and love in your heart.

For anyone who had never felt "enough", you will identify with Colt Bennett. Due to his past, he has never felt enough. It's a self-impose thing. However, when he finds out he's a father, at first, he's elated, but then once again, he knows he can't stick around and be a father to them, but he'll be one from afar. That's the best he can do. And Josie? He'll always love her, but he knows, in the end, he'll just disappoint her.
I really enjoyed this second chance romance. It had a lot of emotions packed into it! I felt deep emotions for Colt. He lived with so much hurt and didn't need to. I also felt for Josie. How she wanted to shake some sense into Colt that love was enough to keep them together! The twins were adorable and wise beyond their years. How they wanted a dad! Colt's grandma was hilarious, along with her retirement buddies! They brought some comic relief to the story but also, Grandma Irene told it like it was when needed to. Her relationship with the chicken, Gertie, was so funny! I would recommend this story to everyone!

The Cowboy's Christmas Twins by Melinda Curtis
Like this book but not how Colt found out hie was the father of twins. Like how it all plays out.
Josie allows the boys to spend time with him as he renovates her antique shop that she needs to get in order and stocked. He's even offered her all of the stock he has in his barn. Like safety measures he takes with the boys.
Love the intervention with the grandmother, she speaks her mind and makes them come to their senses.
He only plans to stay til Jan 1 then back to the rodeo...
He has the opportunity to appear at an event for the rodeo even though he told everyone he would be staying until January. He wants the boys to have a Christmas that they will remember forever: the best Christmas ever because he know how it was to not have the best growing up. He knows it will break her heart again. He's not so sure he wants to tell her..
Like how this all comes together at the end... Great read.

Colt Bennett comes home after an injury. He never guessed to see Josie again. He walked out on her so long ago. Now bumps into her with his grandmother. That was the farthest thing from his mind. It just so happens they walked into her flower shop.
A shock to his system when he saw one little boy, and then another boy who looked just like him. Even his grandmother felt the same way. It couldn’t be.
Josie moved on after Colt left. He promised to Come back, and he never did. She was left alone. Her brother helped, and she was grateful for that. The most important thing now she needs to do is protect her two sons so they don’t get hurt. She doesn’t know what Cole will do now that he knows he’s a father.
Buy the book to see what comes of this situation. Will Cole stay for his boys, or go back to his rodeo life? Which is important to him? So good. Ms. Curtis made my heart melt for everyone.

A heartwarming second-chance story. The twins are absolutely adorable. Colt has returned home to heal after being away for eight years, only to face the surprise of his life. Josie fell for Colt when she was a little girl, and after a magical week together, she thought it would last forever. Colt promised to come back for her, but she didn’t hear from him again until he walked into her flower shop years later. When Colt’s Gran sees Josie’s twins, she instantly knows who their father is, leaving Colt stunned. Colt believes the people he loves can’t rely on him, yet he wants to get to know his boys. Josie, however, is determined to keep Colt from spending much time with them, convinced he’ll leave again. Colt wants to stay, but he knows Josie deserves better. Will he remain, not just for his sons, but for Josie as well?

To say Colt Bennett had a big surprise, when he returned to Montana, might be a huge understatement! Times two. Through a very innocent run-in with a former girlfriend, he meets his seven-year-old twin boys! Josie Whitaker may have kept the twins from Colt but to be fair, Colt never came back to town so she could tell him. What happens next is fun, funny, a wee bit sad, and an uphill battle for Colt to try to make amends with all the Whitakers. A clean, sweet story that embodies the spirit of forgiveness and Christmas. A wonderful holiday read.

Josie has had a major crush on Colt since she tagged behind him & her brother as a young girl 💋 As adults they hooked up for a very short period of time & then Colt took off on the rodeo circuit & ghosted her. 8 years later he returns home to sell the family ranch, only to find Josie has twin boys who suspiciously look just like him! If you’re a fan of second chance romance, great characters especially Colts Grandma Irene & her pet chicken Gertie. Grab yourself a copy of this wonderful holiday book when it releases on 10-15. Thank you Melinda for entertaining me.

Colt left Bentwood Creek eight years ago for the rodeo circuit and return to find Josie the girl he left behind had twins boys and he never knew. Josie has always loved Colt but she finally realized he was never coming back at least not until he busted his knee so he will be in town until after Christmas. There is much more to the story which was funny and sweet. This is a lovely book with great characters especially Gran with her chicken Gertie.

After eight years Colt Bennett comes home but not to honour the promise he made to Josie Whitaker. His plan is to heal from his knee injury and sell the ranch he has inherited that only has bad memories for him, before returning to the rodeo circuit. Then he discovers that Josie has twin sons, exact replicas of himself…..
How can he make up for eight years of silence and how can he give them what they need, when he knows that loved ones should not depend on him?

I enjoyed this sweet second chance romance story. Colt's emotional journal was heartbreaking and very relatable. I especially loved his Grandma Irene, her humorous friends rooting for "team Colt" and her pet chicken Gertie. The twins, Levi and Wyatt, were also written very well adding warmth and hope to the story.

It's Christmas in Brentwood but that's not why Colt Bennett has returned. Only selling the family ranch is on his mind. Certainly not a high school flame. But something about Josie Whitaker and her boys has his heart and his mind spinning. Will Colt find his family and roots right where he needs to be or truly leave it all behind for good. Melinda Curtis delivers another wonderful read in this small town soul warming series.

What a sweet second chance romance. Returning home from a rodeo injury Colt gets a big surprise that he’s a dad. Can the past ruin his chance at a family. Too many times he feels he’s let someone down. But Josie just might be worth it.
