I want to start by saying I only read this book because I am already 7 books invested in this series. The series has not done much for me, they have been OK reads.
However, this is exactly why I keep reading a series. The book was beyond amazing. It was tragic, heart breaking and REAL!!!! The pain this family went through, and even though they had to take the long road to find each other again. It was so worth the journey.

As I always say, if a book can make me cry, it's a damn good book.

4.5-5 Fast Time Stars!!!
LOVED this book so much. I am more than positive I ugly sobbed through over half this book. It was so well written and took a VERY hard, emotional subject and dealt with it beautifully. I couldnt imagine going through in real life what the characters went through in this book.
The emotions that you went through in this book were all over the charts. I honestly laughed, cried, sobbed, gasped, yelled, and seriously had to hold myself back from throwing my phone across the room because I wanted to hit people so bad!
I can say a few of the parts were a little slow for me, but overall I think 90% of the book was a SOLID 5! :)
Thank you Shey for continuing with this family and letting us see them over almost 30+ years. It is awesome!

I’m sorry, but I just couldn’t do it. One of the things I can’t stand in life is cheating. No matter the circumstances. And tbh, I never really liked Axel and Lily together. I’m usually all for best friends to lovers so I wanted to like them very much, but I never really liked Lily and I think their romance has always been weak from the moment I read they were dating in The Champion. This book just proved me right. The moment when tragedy struck and their relationship was tested, boy did they fail. Though some may disagree because they were able to save their marriage in the end, the thing is, they wouldn’t have had to save it in the first place. For two people who’ve known each other their whole lives and been together so long, I was very disappointed. And I’m unsurprised Lily was the one to fuck it up. They should’ve just stuck to friends and went their separate ways when Axel technically cheated on her when they were sixteen.
I do still love Axel though. He was my favorite kid before Casten eventually won me over with his charming personality. And although this book didn’t do it for me, I still love the Riley family very much.

Heartbreaking
I have never read anything by this author before nor have I ever read a book about racing. This book was heartbreaking. Not only do we deal with a marriage breaking up but also a tragic death that implodes a family. Everyone deals with grief in a different way. Unfortunately the way we deal with it has an impact on those around us good or bad. This is the eighth book in a series. I am intrigued enough by the series that I am going to start at the beginning and read each book.

Tears! So many tears! The raw, really emotion of racing! This book hits on so many of your fears as a racers other half. The fears of my racers family. Many times reading this one my racer threatened to take this book away from me if I didn’t stop crying. He kept saying “Hayls it’s just a book” but the thing is this book is so read. You feel it on every level. Shay Stahl, you will never understand how meaningful your writing is to dirt track.

Hard
This book is hard to get through at times but this author brings real life and dirt racing to her pages. I have felt like I know the Riley family and have lived it all right with them.

Heartbroken! There is no other way to describe it. I love this series so much, these people seem like part of my family and through this whole book my heart ached for every single one of them!

When I first starting reading this, I had a feeling that something very bad was going to happen because the book made you instantly fall in love with a very special character. But then I forgot about it because of my anger with Arie. I thought she made her choice in "The Rookie" but now she is once again playing mind games. I wished I could have went inside my kindle & throat punched her. I hate that she is playing with their hearts and causing so much unnecessary pain. I know my opinion is one sided because we really haven't gotten to know Easton yet, but he was there for her and has loved her even while she is being stupid. But I am so in love with Rager that I think Jameson may have to step aside but not too far. I want both of them to just walk away from her and find someone who could truly make them happy. Yes I am talking as if these people are real and that is because to me they are. If I had the chance I would be all over Rager. Arie still has a lot of growing up to do and I hope she does it before she ruins the lives of Easton, Rager, and some other special people.
Axel's story broke my heart and caused me to go into my 4 year old son's room in the middle of the night just to look at him because I was at a place in the book where I felt my heart was being ripped out of my chest and I just needed to know that my child was safe. I love getting to know Axel but Lily not so much. I don't dislike her as much as I do Arie but at times she was pushing it. Grief is something that gets to everyone and can turn you into someone you would never have thought you could be. I understand grief and I have watched someone that I love turn into a completely different person because of grief. But I still can't bring myself to believe that everything Lily did was based on that because there were early signs that she was not completely happy. Lily needs to make things right with the Riley clan ASAFP.
Axel is a strong man and I have so much respect for him for not telling her to F-off or giving in to temptation. And that speech that he gave thanking Tommy was just beautiful.
This book reminds readers that life is too short, tragedies are real & are just that... tragedies, and that grief is a b**ch. This is one of my all-time favorite series and I can't wait for more.

Gripping & Emotional
To all the reviewers who wrote hateful words about this latest ROTE story...question...are you high?
As usual, this book was beautifully written and very true to the series. I love the Riley family and could follow them forever. I greatly admire this author's courage in taking on uncomfortable, tragic, real life issues. We live then die. No escaping that. While it's not something we like to contemplate, children die too. The concept, emotional aspects and aftermath of something so tragic happening to a child is somewhere no one wants to go. Yet it happens. People deal with it every day. If this subject is a trigger for you, or you find it offensive, then this isn't the book for you. Please heed that warning and don't use the subject matter that Ms Stahl so courageously tackled as an excuse to attack her. If you are not moved by her work and it doesn't do it for you, then don't read her books. There are plenty of us who are grateful for the emotional journeys she takes us on and whole heartedly await the next one.

When I was first introduced to this series I felt like I knew every character from the get go. Actually I wanted to get to know them! They were so "real" to me. Every situation they were in was real. Real life happens and I knew from the synopsis that this was going to be a tear jerker and I was so right! The Riley's go through life just like we do. None of us are better than another nor are we expected to not deal with tragedy. Every family has something. It may not be directly in our immediate families but it's REAL! Just like life! Thank you Shey. Thank you! I hope you continue with this family as long as you have story in you! Because I WILL support you all the way! Thank you for allowing us as readers to go with you on these journeys!

Oh good gravy!!! This book is another Riley family hit!!! I am truly addicted to this family. I love, love, LOVE them!! I can't get enough of them. And this book just about broke me. I thought I had seen about everything that Shey Stahl could throw at me. Boy, was I wrong! Fast Time had me ugly crying for hours. I felt like curling up in a ball and finding a happy place. Even thought it was sad at time, I still thought it was a wonderful book and it did have a HEA. I would highly recommend reading this if you are a Riley fanatic like myself!

This was an emotional heart wrenching book to say the least. It was beautifully written and so real. One of the things I love most about Shey's writing is that it is so real & honest. Her stories have me laughing out loud and I love that. I love the intensity of the relationships and how the families are always interwoven into the story. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is because I didn't feel that there was enough time spent on the healing part of Axel & Lily's marriage, I felt like there was all of this pain for the majority of the book, then bam they were back together. JMO

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. I have always loved the Riley family and how real they seemed. I love Shey's style of writing and her ability to bring real situations to her books. This book, based on Axel, took me on one hell of an emotional roller-coaster! I love the tragedy, the love, the comedy, the healing, and the family togetherness in this book. If I wrote down all that I loved about this book, I'd be here for days! Another exceptional book by Shey! :)

Even as I write this I feel the tears running down my face. This is probably the most heart wrenching story I have ever read. There were so many things I hated about this book. But I loved how almost all of it was handled. Lily ticked me off, but I can also see where she was coming from.
This is one book that I hate to love. It's definitely not an easy read. I would not recommend even starting this book unless you have the time to finish it.

Absolutely Beautiful Story
With each book you hear a different tale even though it is about one family. Shey Stahl has risen to tell the ultimate tale of love, family and loss. This is a complex story that will make you think what if it happened to me. I have been there and she does the story the justice it needed. Make sure you a big box of tissues.
