I’ll probably sound like a broken record, but I absolutely love the interconnected world that A.V. Blackmoor has created!! After getting glimpses of Damien in Ghost Marked and then Damien and Seraphina in the Monster Duet, I was excited to read their story and even more thrilled that it’s available in audiobook format!
Damien, 37 years old and leading Devil, is just as unhinged as ever but clearly spiraling over his obsession with Seraphina, who’s been caught repeatedly stealing from their businesses. With the FBI circling and a possible rat in their midst, Damien struggles to balance keeping her safe with proving she doesn’t matter to him.
Seraphina, 19, never learned what safety felt like. To protect herself, she made herself invisible and small. Simply trying to survive in a world that’s never shown her kindness, she finds herself mixed up in Devil business and just can’t catch a break.
If you love dark romance, this book is where it’s at! The things Seraphina endures had me reeling. There’s no safe man in her life, and while she’s drawn to Damien, his emotional manipulation keeps her constantly off balance. The danger is relentless, and watching her do mental gymnastics to separate truth from lies had me hooked. Damien’s spiral adds incredible angst, and the push and pull between them is addictive.
Blackmoor loves to lull readers into a false sense of security before hitting us with twists and cliffhangers!! Devil Owned is no exception. I’m left wondering how poor Seraphina will get out of the next mess!
The narration for this audiobook was great. Both narrators handled the full cast beautifully. Crystal Clarke gave Seraphina a young vulnerability while still giving believable depth to the male characters. Eddie Herrera’s performance is exactly how I imagine Damien. I could hear the quiet authority and restrained menace, and he shifted tone naturally for the rest of the cast.
Devil Owned is where A.V. Blackmoor’s whole Devil Universe begins! If you love morally black and unhinged MMCs and dark, deranged romance, you will need to read this book!!

I got to read Devil Owned by A.V. Blackmoor as an alc
This dark romance was captivating, and the story easily got me hooked. There could have been a bit more character development, but I feel like some readers would’ve felt that the story was dragging if too much more development was added. So even though I would have preferred a bit more, I think it was an adequate amount for the average reader. I love books with age gap and forced proximity so this book was right up my alley. I can’t wait to get into the next book when it comes out, as this good left off on a cliffhanger.
This book is mild to mid on spice scale, but the storyline still keeps your attention.
Make sure to check out the trigger warnings on this one as there’s a lot.
I did feel like the female narrator spoke extremely slow, but that was easily fixed with speeding up the audio. The male narrator matched the Mac’s character very well, I felt as though he was really well cast.
I think the female narrator was trying to project the fmcs lack of speaking while narrating which contributed to the slow dialogue. Both voice actors have a great amount of emotion that added to the story.

A.V. Blackmoor does it again with the unhinged and suspenseful romance
If you love a good strong, she's mine MMC then Damien is for you! Seraphina is a small quiet female but she does have a past that she doesn't speak about.
I love when the female has a hidden past that will shock a man.
