This book is very informative and has great pictures and examples of bees there is a glossary and an index for reference and is short. I would use it for third grades on as there are complex terms.

This title is one of the “Xtreme Insects” series and presents readers with a wealth of information about bees and wasps in a relatively short book. Diverse varieties of these often feared insects are included and are categorized by social, solitary, and aggressive traits. One spread is devoted to descriptions of the insects’ body parts with labeled close-up photographs and allows readers to compare the two species. In addition to the dangers these insects pose, their benefit to plants and humans are also discussed in detail. Xtreme fact boxes are scattered throughout the straightforward text. The large, color, close-up photographs of bees and wasps in action are particularly engaging. Back matter includes a glossary and index. It is a good resource for information and a great choice for browsing. Order if needed.
