Corrupt Persons

The Corrupt Trilogy: Politics just got steamier.

Simon is very good at his job... too bad his job is doing him no good. His life has been turned upside down. With a father out for vengeance, a brother being vetted for Vice President, and the FBI breathing down his neck, Simon is missing the days of anonymity and back-door dealings. He's in the ring now, spotlight shining bright. In one corner, he faces prison. In the other-- death.

At least he's got her. Jessica. Someone to protect. Someone to finally do right by. The one person who makes fighting back not just a choice, but a necessity. He'll do anything for her. Simon just has to hope it is enough to win her-- and keep her safe.

This is the final installment of the Corrupt Trilogy. Each has its own HEA, but you'll want to read them in order to fully enjoy. For mature audiences who like a little risque with their romance!

I think it's very clever on the author's part how she's planned out the plot and how each couple serves to move each phase forward.

I was so excited to read Simon's story. When you meet him in part 2, he really makes an impression. I love the stragely arousing mixture that he is, half mercenary half spy, but when he's in Jessica's presence, he just melts. Isn't he sweet and hot? ;o)

Speaking of hot. That scene with the pepper! OMG, I've never read anything wilder or more mind-and-body-blowing.
The plot also had me biting my nails. Family feuds, anonymous murderers, top-notch training and espionage, dirty politics and double twisted conspiracies, all tightens to impossibly high stakes that could soar Simon to the heights of heroism or plunge him into the pits of hellish crime.

He is trying hard to juggle lots of explosive problems but all of his plans are souring despite his considerable efforts. He's fighting his boss, his family, his business, even the woman he loves poses a challenge. I really enjoyed this character and his line of work. His expertise is fully explained with lots of smart and action-filled examples.

With an exciting, kick-ass finale this really good and sexy political thriller, the three male characters and their loved ones wrap up their personal stories in a very rounded and satisfying way. I loved everything about this serial, and now I'm just insanely curious about what the author's mind will be brewing next.

Favourite quote: He'd been starved for her and now, satiated, he refused to be hungry.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Corrupt Persons is the last of this trilogy and about the third brother Simon, and Jessica. While I was waiting not-so-patiently for this book, I am sorry to have the series end. Simon is the illegitimate brother of Roger and Simon Taylor (from books 1 and 2) and it has been a big family secret for all his life (even from him). Jessica is his obsession and her relationship to the family is part of all three stories; I won’t spoil it for you. Simon is basically a hotshot spy-type however he’s been doing work for the wrong side. It’s not that he didn’t know that, he just didn’t know HOW bad the side was. Again, no details as it will spoil the story. I liked the journey Simon’s life took and watching him and Jessica was fun. I can’t be exact because it is a spoiler but let’s just say that the epilogue not only sums up the trilogy, it hilariously sums up Simon’s “new” life. My summary: great story/trilogy; fast-paced; touching and funny; and hawt! I highly recommend. Once again, well done Ms. L!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review,
Wow! What an awesome book! This was the second in this trilogy that I've been privileged to read. Each instalment is a standalone, and is easily followed without reading the previous books, but I'm sure it would be beneficial to read them all in sequence, if only to get a feel of the characters. The plot in this book is well planned, with a smooth flow that keeps your interest throughout. The characters are strong, bringing a diverse set of emotions during its' entirety. The author has maintained enough suspense, keeping you wondering what will happen next, only to throw a curve ball and turn it all around over and over. She has managed to have Simon and Jessica jumping through hoops, some of them being rings of fire. This is another great book in the series, and I thoroughly recommend it. Definitely worth the read.

Edge of your seat excitement from page one. A family that would make anyone cringe, a woman that had Simon's heart since a teenager, corruption and murder, and some of the hottest sex ever!
