A tale of miracles and hope, The Si Peterson Story recounts the extraordinary life of Frank Siedel Peterson (Si), a young, vibrant sixteen-year-old who fell from a high bar while doing gymnastics, and broke his neck. Instantly and totally paralyzed from his chin down, Si spent the next eighteen years of his life as a quadriplegic. Narrated by his devoted mother, Si’s journey is a beautiful example of a life lived with courage, faith, and complete trust in the Heavenly Father’s will. The Si Peterson Story leaves its reader inspired and strengthened by the legacy of Si’s unbreakable faith.
Anita, Si's Mom, told me years ago that she was working on a book about Si's life, and that she hoped to one day get it published. How very happy I am that she has finally been able to realize her goal! Si was a very special friend of mine and he was truly an exceptional young man -- exactly as his mother described him. Despite his situation and the many trials he had to endure, he was unfailingly cheerful, optimistic and patient, and he simply refused to feel sorry for himself. As a result, those of us who were fortunate enough to know him couldn't feel sorry for him either; instead, while I for one was certainly uplifted and inspired by him, the overriding feeling I had when spending time with him was simply one of FUN. Yes, in spite of everything, Si was FUN to be around. He had the most wonderful sense of humour and the smile on his face was always so big that it sometimes seemed like his face would break. Si's life's journey was indeed a remarkable one, and his was a story that deserved to be told. Well done, Anita!
