It was such a fun time reading this
(despite some parts that had my jaw dropped-
I LOVED Sydney's and Parker's story so much!! Along with the found tamily trope and setting.🌲🌲
The setting for it telt so nostalgic and so warm I loved it
And ADORE all the characters and even felt more connected with sydney since I found her relatable in some parts which you explained so beautifully.
AND THE ROMANCE WAS SO GOOD

This is a romance book with childhood friends to lovers slow burn, no spice, found family, high school and 2000’s setting. And every chapter has a song for title and the music taste is tea. So litteraly all of my favourite things? Huh. I was supposed to loved this book and… I did. Loved every second of it, binged it. Now I’m sad because it’s over though.
The main characters are incredible and so loveable. Be sure to check out the trigger warnings though because some of the topics talked about in here could trigger some people (abuse, self harm, suicide, grief).
You will love them trust me. They (Nathan I’m looking at you) are so freaking funny. I was laughing so hard my ribs started to hurt. Loved everything about them.

I don’t even have words to talk about her. But I’m very thankful for the author, how much I felt seen and understood with the anxiety rep. She’s so soft but so strong at the same time.
So happy to hear that a second book is in the making because you can’t leave me with THAT ending, I forbid it.

so this was crazy
I've been mutuals with Amy on Instagram for quite a while and it was honestly so amazing to see this book come to life. I really loved the characters and i think the only thing that comes to mind that bothered me a little, but thats just my personal opinion, is that a lot of the time when there was banter between the characters and there weren't any dialogue tags and that happened quite a lot and I'm someone who prefers when there's a lot of descriptions in between of dialogues.
anyway, you could also notice that the author likes boys of tommen hahaha

She searched my face for a long moment, like she was trying to figure out whether I actually meant it.
"I promise," I continued quietly, holding her gaze. "You're not doing this alone.""
omg where do i even start? this book broke and healed me all at once. sydney and parker are so precious to me. like wdym they met when they were little kids and are still so close? both of them deserve the biggest hug. i see myself so much in sydney. she’s such an angel but goes through so much. parker, my boy. the trauma? shocking. did i still laugh while reading this? yes. did i cry? also yes. definitely check the trigger warnings but ever topic was handled so well. i love the found family aspect of this book. layla, nathan, parker and sydney are such a great friend group. i love how they all defended sydney. parker’s mam gave me mommy k vibes. one of the things that i found very heartbreaking is that the mean girl wasn’t just a mean girl but sydney’s ex best friend. which made it so much worse. especially because i used to have a dani. this was such a good book to start the gloomy season. it was such a great experience to read it while drinking a nice cup of tea and lighting up a candle. this book is so underrated but yet so good. i can’t wait to read more about all of them in future books.

omg!! where do i even start?!
this feels crazy to say but i’ve been following the author’s writing journey since even before she published the book (which i LOVED following, btw) and it was honestly so surreal seeing this book come a little to life every day.
as soon as this book was announced as published i headed straight onto my kindle to download it to read - and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! i adored sydney and parker’s story (sydney will forever hold a special place in my heart now 🥹) and the 2000s high school setting and the found family dynamic was chef’s kiss.
although there were some spelling and grammar issues i noticed after reading it the second time, and some seemingly never ending dialogue in most conversations, these minor flaws had minimal impact on the outcome of this amazing work of storytelling.
i don’t have enough words to talk about this novel and its amazing author, but i am very thankful for amy and i can now call her a friend as we have recently become mutuals on instagram. my heart ached for each and every mental health representation the characters held, which i will not get into for fear of spoilers. this book made me feel so seen and i hope others can enjoy it as much as i did!
