I absolutely LOVED Lia in all her badassery in this book! Her bazooka moments had me either laughing out loud or holding my breath. Poor Logan was not only destroyed emotionally, but DANG, did he get mangled physically!! Yikes.
It was so fun to see so much of Piper and Quill! All of their combined chaos had me nonstop laughing. The dark humor was spot on.
While the first half of this book had me laughing, the second had me in tears. There were so many heart wrenching moments where Lia and Logan struggled while trying to figure things out after a lifetime of trauma and separation. The angst, desperation, and trauma really brought out the dark twisted parts, the emotional fallout, and eventual reconciliation.
Color me shocked to see people in therapy in the Devil Universe, what!! Lia and Logan may be working through some things, but you can be sure these two are just as broken and twisted as ever. Honestly, I think these two may be my favorite couple in the Devil Universe.
I'm so happy that they seem to be on their way for a HEA, but I'll hold my breath after that epilogue because nothing comes easily for Logan and Lia.
A.V. Blackmoor’s books are known for her late plot twists and cliffhangers! However, I figured out who Jane was right away, and I don’t think that was intended. It might be because of the order I’ve read her books or just my basic suspicion lol! There were also a few things that felt a little too convenient or didn’t quite make sense about the gang, but I’m hoping for more answers in the next book!
Still, I’m completely obsessed with all of A.V. Blackmoor’s books and can’t wait to find out what happens when time runs out in the next Duet!

I most definitely loved book one a bit more than this one. I really loved Logan and how he did become a bit softer in this book, I mean, not by much but it’s there, lol. I feel which such a huge gap in years that has passed, the characters should have acted a bit more grown. They were young when they were together in book one, I just feel they didn’t grow since then in this book. However, I really loved the concept of this book and book one, and the characters. I truly think both Logan and Lia are most definitely meant to be together. I will continue reading the universe that this author has created because I really love her books and writing. Definitely recommend you reading this duet!

Red Flags, Black Hearts & Bad Decisions

POV: You picked up a dark romance and accidentally signed up for psychological warfare. 😵💫 Eighteen years of grief, obsession, secrets, and moments when this book genuinely hurt—and apparently that’s my idea of a good time. 🩸🫠
This book was an absolute emotional hazard, and I mean that as a compliment. Picking up where Ghost Marked left off, this book throws me straight back into the chaos—and somehow makes that chaos even more psychologically invasive. I was hooked almost immediately, but more importantly, I stayed emotionally invested. This story doesn't just want me to know what happened; it wants me to question everything I think I know right alongside the characters
The combination of grief, obsession, memory, identity, revenge, and possession gives the romance a much heavier emotional foundation than simple attraction. Logan's eighteen years of mourning aren't just backstory—they're embedded in the way he loves, reacts, controls, and spirals. Lia's fractured relationship with her own memories creates an entirely different kind of vulnerability, and watching those two realities collide is where the story really gets its teeth. And the atmosphere? Absolutely feral. Secret societies, masked figures, surveillance, captivity, weapons, violence, buried secrets, and enough questionable decision-making to make common sense file for unemployment. Somehow, the pitch-black humor keeps the whole thing from becoming relentlessly suffocating. There were moments when the emotional intensity genuinely hurt, and that is exactly the kind of reaction I want from a book this dark.
The biggest strength for me was the way the mystery and romance feed each other instead of feeling like two separate stories fighting for attention. The question surrounding Lia's identity isn't simply there to create suspense—it directly attacks the relationship's emotional foundation. Every answer has the potential to change what love means between these two people. The psychological tension is particularly effective because the uncertainty isn't limited to who is lying. It's whether anyone—including the characters themselves—has enough reliable information to recognize the truth. Memory loss, manipulation, conflicting versions of the past, surveillance, hidden motives, and buried history create that delicious trust-absolutely-no-one atmosphere.
The relationship also works because it is deeply uncomfortable by design. Logan's obsession, possessiveness, grief, and need for control aren't brushed aside as quirky romantic traits. The story understands that there is a dangerous line between devotion and possession—and repeatedly drags the characters right up against it. And Lia? She became the character I was most invested in. Her uncertainty about her own identity gives her emotional vulnerability real weight, while her struggle to understand what has been taken from her makes the stakes feel deeply personal. The characterization worked particularly well for me because the characters' darker choices are rooted in their emotional wounds. Logan's grief and fixation give his behavior context without magically making everything he does acceptable—and I appreciated that distinction. Understanding a red flag does not magically make it beige. 🚩😂
The twists were strong, although they didn't all hit with the same level of impact for me. I had several moments where I had to stop, mentally rewind, and reconsider what I thought I understood. The story gives enough information to theorize without making the answers immediately obvious. The clues also feel intentionally planted rather than conveniently dropped in at the last second. So while every reveal didn't completely destroy me, the mystery consistently kept me engaged and suspicious—which, honestly, is half the fun. The dialogue is sharp, too. These people flirt, fight, manipulate, threaten, lie, emotionally devastate each other, and occasionally behave as though peace is a foreign concept. Naturally, I was entertained.
A few minor areas kept this from being a perfect read for me, and they came down to execution rather than the core story. Piper felt somewhat underdeveloped compared with the emotional complexity given to Lia and Logan, and some of the surrounding character work doesn't always feel as fully realized as the central relationship. The intimate scenes also worked better for me in their buildup and emotional context than in every individual payoff. The tension, power dynamics, vulnerability, and emotional stakes surrounding the intimacy were often more compelling than the physical moments themselves. None of these issues undermined the overall experience, but they were noticeable precisely because so much of the central relationship and psychological tension worked so well.
The writing is atmospheric, sharp, and deliberately immersive. The predominantly Logan-focused POV gives the story a strong emotional anchor. At the same time, Lia's POV—particularly with its movement between past and present—adds another layer to the uncertainty surrounding her identity and memories. The writing maintains that oppressive atmosphere while balancing brutality and emotional heaviness with flashes of dark humor. Because apparently these characters weren't suffering enough, so the book decided I needed to laugh while emotionally spiraling. 😂
The pacing was another strong point. I was flying through chapters because the story consistently gave me another reason to keep going. The mystery escalates steadily, the emotional beats have room to land, and the major revelations are spaced well enough that the book rarely feels like it's throwing twists at me purely for shock value.
The darker elements also feel purposeful. Violence, trauma, captivity, obsession, manipulation, and psychological abuse aren't merely decorative darkness. They actively shape the characters and their choices. And the spice🌶️? Oh, it's not merely present. It has opinions and is central to the experience. This is not a romance where someone occasionally kisses against a convenient wall, and we're supposed to call that heat. The BDSM and darker sexual dynamics are woven into the relationship's power struggles, vulnerability, control, and obsession. What impressed me most is how the story balances romance, thriller, mystery, erotic tension, violence, grief, and black humor while still maintaining an emotional core.
This is firmly for readers who know what they're signing up for when they pick up pitch-black dark romance. If you want morally black characters, obsessive possessiveness, captor/captive dynamics, masked men, bikers, secret societies, revenge, BDSM, enemies-to-lovers tension, second-chance romance, graphic violence, psychological manipulation, and a genuine mystery running underneath the romance, this book has plenty to work with.
The psychological thriller elements are especially important. The suspense isn't just generated by the romance; there is an actual What the hell is going on? mystery driving the story. The questions surrounding Lia's memory and identity give the book a stronger psychological edge than a straightforward dark romance. Readers looking for fluffy second-chance romance, light BDSM, a conventionally morally gray hero, or violence conveniently happening off-page should probably run in the opposite direction. If your reaction to “morally black man + obsession + captivity + BDSM + secret society + psychological mystery + eighteen years of grief” is “Oh, absolutely. Ruin me.”…welcome.
I went into this expecting darkness, but what really stayed with me was the emotional mess underneath it. The story isn't simply asking whether two people are attracted to each other. It's asking what happens when love, grief, identity, memory, control, and trauma become so tangled that separating them feels almost impossible. That made the reading experience considerably more compelling for me. I was suspicious. I was uncomfortable. I was emotionally invested. I was yelling at fictional people who could not hear me. And, unfortunately, I was having a fantastic time.
This isn't a book I'd recommend universally, but if you actively seek intense, psychologically messy dark romance with genuine mystery and suspense woven through it, this delivers the kind of beautifully questionable chaos you're signing up for.

At this point, I am invested in these characters and all of their crazy.
Logan and Lia are like oil and vinegar for a lot of this book—they just do not mix easily, but somehow you still need them together. Their story brings kidnapping, mafia trouble, revenge, obsession, second chances, and enough questionable decisions to remind us that Logan is still very much the walking red flag we met in book one. 🚩
And Lia? After being drugged with Memoril for so long, she's dealing with her own version of crazy. These two might actually deserve each other.
One of my favorite parts was seeing Piper and Quill reunite with Logan and Lia. ❤️ I have become so attached to this whole group that those moments hit differently. Logan may still be crazy as ever, but underneath all of that insanity, he's constantly trying to protect his family and keep them safe. Piper and Lia are alot alike in many ways, not just looks.
Meanwhile, Damien is DONE dealing with Logan's crazy ass, and honestly, I can't even blame the man.
I'm keeping this review intentionally vague because there are WAY too many things that could easily become spoilers. Definitely read "Ghost Marked" first. This is not one I'd recommend jumping into without book one because so much of what happens—and why it matters—comes from everything that happened before.
I did enjoy "Ghost Marked" a little more than "Ghost Hunted". The author mentioned that after the ARCs went out, she found some things she wanted to change, so those revisions weren't included in the copy I read. I'm definitely curious to see how those changes affect the final version.

A wild and crazy kidnapping, mafia second chance spicy romance that you can’t put down.
This is Part 2 of a duet, and while you could read it stand alone, having read part 1 introduces you to Lia and Logan and you have a much better sense of their relationship.
Logan, like all of AV's characters in the DEVIL world, is a little bit unhinged. And the poor guy goes through it in this book!
He finds out that the women he's been obsessed with forever and thought he lost 18 years ago is alive! You can imagine the mix of emotions: Relief she's alive, anger she did not reach out, desire to have her back, and of course with Logan's craziness - the urge to kill her!

It was fun to see Piper and Quill again and to have them "reunite" with Lia and Logan. We also get some quality time with Damien and Seraphina.
Logan isn't a good guy at all, but all of the crazy things he does (and there are a lot of crazy things, (including building a cage for Lia) are to try to keep his family members safe.
The heat between these 2 was burning my kindle up! And they do come to an understanding and a relationship that works for them.
I love AV's brand of crazy, hot action and her characters. There are trigger warnings, so do read them if that might matter to you.
I read this in one day because the action and spice were so good that I had to see how it all ended.

This is Part 2 of a duet, and while you could read it stand alone, having read part 1 introduces you to Lia and Logan and you have a much better sense of their relationship.
Logan, like all of AV's characters in the DEVIL world, is a little bit unhinged. And the poor guy goes through it in this book!
He finds out that the women he's been obsessed with forever and thought he lost 18 years ago is alive! You can imagine the mix of emotions: Relief she's alive, anger she did not reach out, desire to have her back, and of course with Logan's craziness - the urge to kill her!

But overall I really did enjoy every second of this book.

Ghost Hunted is book two in the Ghost Marked duet, and WOW this one was definitely darker than the first. Logan has spent 18 years believing Lia is dead while secretly protecting their daughter Aurora, now known as Piper. Meanwhile, Lia has spent those same 18 years being held by her father and forced to take weekly injections meant to erase her memories. This book was honestly harder for me to get through because of everything Lia had endured and because Logan’s treatment of her felt especially harsh at times. I understood his anger and why he was struggling with everything that happened, but there were moments where I just didn’t feel like Lia deserved how far he took things after everything she’d already survived.
There was also so much happening with their family. Logan finds their daughters for Lia, and we learn that Lia was pregnant with another one of their children when she was taken. Now they’re searching for Jane, who was taken away from Lia as a baby. The story gets even more intense when Lia is forced to choose which daughter will die to pay off her father’s debt to a gang. When she refuses to choose, the gang gives them 365 days before they’ll kill them both.
And that ending… DAY 364?! 😭 Logan and Lia finally decide they’re going to make themselves known to their missing daughter, and that’s literally where the book ends. So while there is some resolution, the story definitely doesn’t feel completely wrapped up, and I’m assuming Jane’s story is going to be the next duet that finishes everything.

There’s a lot of tiggers in this book, so you definitely want to start off with reading those, to see if this book will be a good fit for you.
I really enjoyed the first half of this duet, I’ve always like Logan as a character through this universe. But in this book, he kind of just turning into a push over and is constantly blaming everything on himself. I truly feel like 90% or more of what happens to Lia is her and her father’s fault. Logan didn’t make her go to the bar in the first book, nor did he make her marry her r**ist.
I really don’t like Lia’s character, she never learns, or grows. Everything is someone else’s fault. But she’s supposedly this bad ass, but seems pretty helpless to me.
The bazooka, there’s so much wrong with that part of the book, and I couldn’t get over it. The inconsistencies of how it was described being used, and how an actual bazooka would be used, is past the realm of imagination.
The book is spicy, but it came off as repetitive, and after a while it added nothing to the story.
I felt like this book just went around in circles and nothing really concluded. They “found” Jane but never introduced themselves in the entire year. Their actual relationship never really grew past surface level. But it’s not like I feel like it ever will until Lia stops being selfish and childish. Maybe the mentioned counselling will help with that, and it will get better in other books.
Overall I wouldn’t read this book again, but will continue to read this universe.

Okayyyy… I’m not gonna lie, I loved book one a *little* more, but Logan and Lia still had me in a chokehold. 😮💨🖤
Logan is still absolutely UNHINGED, but I swear there’s a tiny little soft spot hiding underneath all that crazy. And when I say tiny… I mean *TINY*. 😂 This man goes from finding out the woman he’s been obsessed with for **18 YEARS** is alive… to being relieved, furious she never contacted him, desperate to have her back, and simultaneously contemplating whether he should just KILL HER.
And Lia?! The poor woman has been drugged to mess with her short-term memory AND make her more violent. So naturally, we get mafia chaos, Europe-wide chasing, bazookas, revenge, and Logan doing some absolutely questionable things—including BUILDING THIS WOMAN A CAGE. 🚩🚩🚩
But honestly? This is the DEVIL universe. What did we expect? 😂
The chemistry between Logan and Lia was 🔥🔥🔥. The tension, the obsession, the *I want you but I might also destroy you* energy had my Kindle fighting for its LIFE. And somehow, these two finally find a relationship that actually works for their particular brand of crazy.
I also loved seeing Piper & Quill again and getting more time with Damien and Seraphina. I’m officially invested in this entire chaotic universe.

This is the follow on from Ghost Marked, again I will advise to read the trigger points as they are there for a reason. This book is more darker than the first, which ended on a cliffhanger. Logan wakes in the hospital ti find out Kia died in the explosion. Now eighteen years later he's still grieving her loss. But he's also a successful businessman. Protecting Lia's daughter Piper is his main priority. Piper and Quill make an added edge to the story. But when she tells him her real mom Lia is still alive in Ireland he can't believe it. This start the complicated story of finding and getting Lia back. Lia can't remember much. The injections her father keeps giving her aren't helping. The memories or nightmares keep bragging her into things she just doesn't want to remember. Will she ever get her memories back fully. Just who are the masked men she keeps seeing. The way this book tells what's happened to Lia is complicated and terrifying in equal amounts. Will Logan actually be able to rescue her. But will it be a rescue. Or just another way to control her. I can't believe that even through the difficult story there are a dew laughable moments, especially the Bazooka being her safety tool. Please remember to read the trigger warning

i have to say that i am somewhat disappointed in the conclusion to logan and lia’s story 😔 i just didn’t feel as invested in the characters like i was reading the first book
in the beginning, i really enjoyed seeing logan being all fatherly with piper and his banter he had going on with quill, but when they left, i lost that feeling and i wish there was more of that familial relationship, especially with lia
some of this book also felt underexplained, we would somehow jump to a different setting with no explanation of how we got there, things would get resolved with no or very little explanation as to how, and i felt a lot of background was missing that would’ve helped me understand more
lastly, lia mentions so many times how she wants freedom for once in her life and she doesn’t get it in the end? logan should’ve been the one to give her her freedom, he knew all she had been through, yet he continues to pretend that he’s giving her it but not really, and lia just accepts it. you can have freedom in a relationship and still be obsessive and protective over them

It’s getting darker. It’s getting way more twisted. It’s getting more complicated. And yet the HEA is right there behind the corner, if only you have the patience to seek it out and wait for it. The truth about Lia and Logan’s story is that it is one of the most complicated I have read in this series. It’s the most traumatic one. The most fulfilling and the most painful. The things she has to go through. The trauma … it’s was hard reading this book. Maybe even more than the other books. But it was so rewarding to see their ending. The way the author intricately explained the connection between these books was interesting and pleasurable to read. The spicy scenes, as spicy as they can come. And he is as obsessed as the very beginning. A good ending for this duet !

Being pitch black there is lot of 'crossing the line' in how they show they care
Logan and Lia go through alot of ups and downs, relearning each other and the dark desires they have. Also on a mission to find Jane, with gangs wanting debts paid, in peculiar ways.
I gotta admit that I didn't understand how Logan and Lia could wait to introduce themselves, to Jane but I can only assume that may lead into the next books, which i am so excited for Billie's books

I absolutely enjoyed this book and found myself completely pulled into it from the start. I’m especially glad I read Ghost Marked first, as it added so much depth and really helped everything click into place.
This book leans into a delicious mix of darkness and spice, and I flew through it far quicker than I expected because I was so invested in the characters and their journey. It’s the kind of story that keeps you turning pages without even realizing how much time has passed.
Without giving anything away, that ending left me eager for more and now I’m counting down the days until the next book. That cliffhanger has me hooked!

Holy 🤫!!
I did NOT expect the ending that this book has that's for sure!
This book was honestly such a whirlwind of everything-ups, downs, humor, sadness etc and my heart truly goes out to Lia, but at the same time I sort of want to smack her around the head and shout COMMUNICATE DAMN IT!! (In a good way😂)
Logan loves the only way he knows how and on that basis, loved him, he's doing he's best in that same controlling psycho way he does in the first part of their story.
I just want them to be happy and carefree- cage, bazooka and all!
I cannot wait to see what A.V Blackmoor's brain thinks of next!

Ghost Hunted is the second book in the Ghost Duet! The beginning of this one gave similar vibes to the Cat and Mouse duet, and if you thought that duet was spicy, this one will have you clutching your pearls! I really enjoyed all of the characters' developments, and seeing how they changed over the eighteen years that occur between books. Logan is an AMAZING MMC! And is EASILY in my top ten book boyfriends now!

PERFECT CLOSURE

Absolutely devoured both books in this duet. Each could be read independently, but highly highly recommend reading as a true duet. This one ripped my heart apart and then stitched it back together, multiple times 😖 Right when you think nothing could go wrong, BOOM something goes wrong, so it keeps you on your toes. It gives another perspective into why Logan behaves how he does with Lia, but also into why Lia behaves the way she does with Logan.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This book has trigger warnings, so read the warnings before you dive in. This is the conclusion of Logan and Lia, and what a conclusion it was. Logan finds Lia after mourning her for 18 years. The story is full of angst, and the smut 🔥🔥🔥🔥🥵 what can I say? I really enjoyed this duet and I’m looking forward to the next book. I give this 5 stars 🌟

This is the second book in a duet. The first ended in a cliffhanger, so I couldn’t wait to dive into this one.
I do normally read and love Dark Romance, but I didn’t love this one. The story felt a bit disjointed, some parts had no lead - up, just abracadabra problem solved. There was some banter, I would like to have had more.
This line in particular had me giggling and kicking my feet: “Uh uh, brats don’t get bazookas.”

This book took me way longer to read than a lot of previous arcs. Don’t get me wrong, I love to see characters come back and have a part to play. I also do like certain aspects of Lia and Logan’s love story but there were certain times where I feel like Logan was too dark for me. I loooooove a dark MMC but there were certain things he did that almost cause Lia to unalive herself. To me, that takes it a little too far.

Logan thought Lia was dead for the past 18yrs but when he finds shes alive his releof os overshadowed by anger that she didnt come back, bit theres a reason she couldnt, she didnt remember and now he must track her down via the trail of violence before the mafia gets her, but will there reunion be ever lasting? Well written dark twisting, captivating story, the characters have depth that draws you in with suspense, desires and more and we get to see some familiar faces!

This is book 2 of Logan and Lias story. I started this out thinking there was no way that a happy ending could come out of this, I didnt want there to be one either. Then I quickly had my mind changed to wanting them to make it after all. There is a lot that goes down in this story, and I look forward to reading the other books in this universe as well. Definitely check the trigger warnings if there is anything you need to be aware of!

This concludes Logan and Lia's duet but I hope we see them in future books. I felt for both Lia and Logan. They have been through so much and still went through hell. This was full of dread and worry of what was going to happen next along with alot of spice. I couldn't put this done. And I am excited to read whats next.

I really enjoyed the twists and turns in the story. I enjoyed Lia getting a bit of her own mind and own wants back and for Logan to realise she isnt so weak as he thinks she is. However I did find the constant back and forth about her freedom a bit grating. I get it but I think some of the parts could have been removed and we would have be received the same message.

Ghost Hunted is a 3.5 for me. (I will always round up rather than down!)
Overall I liked the book, I just wasnt able to fall in love with it like I had Ghost Marked. It definitely has some darker themes so please read the triggers prior to reading if you think you may have any.
I was really excited to jump into this book after being left on a cliff hanger with Ghost Marked. I fell in love with Logans character in that book and was slightly disappointed with how he was in this one. Did I expect character change, absolutely with what he had went through and how the last book left off, however I did not expect what to me was a drastic change in his hardness and protective/toughness. Lia was still very much who she was in the first book with extra trauma, I feel bad for her and could still feel some connection with her. Though, I do wish she would have become stronger and more resilient as the book went on and she was "fixed".
I am looking forward to the next book in the same universe!!

This was a really great way to wrap up this duo. I loved Lia and Logan so much. The twists and turns in this were wild. From the beginning I was pulled in, needing to know what was going to take place after the first book. This definitely did not disappoint. Going to miss these, but so well worth the read.
