Harbinger Asylum is a quarterly literary journal that features art and poetry from all around the globe. It was nominated as Best Poetry Magazine of the Year in 2013 by the National Poetry Awards. The Spring 2014 issue features the art of El Paso painter and sculptor, Bianca Olivas. Many of our usual contributors are in print and we have also sought out new poets across the world. We are all about the art, the process of creation, and bringing creative community together in difficult times. It is our mission as poetry enthusiasts to invigorate the word, to declare POETRY LIVES!
Dustin D. Pickering founded Transcendent Zero Press in 2010 with the quarterly magazine Harbinger Asylum, the poet describes himself as "the outcome of many traumatic life experiences." Nevertheless, Pickering embraces the optimistic personal attitude that destiny is what we make of it. He has attended several festivals, including Austin International Poetry Fest and Beat fest, and has published work appearing in the di-verse-city 2013anthology. When he is not hosting poetry readings around town or coordinating events, he enjoys music and time alone. He currently lives in the Clear Lake area of Houston, Texas.
