The first time those haunting gray eyes pinned her, they’d stared at her from the face of a creature that was supposed to only be a legend. A cliché.

When Sadie VonRouge moves to Casterton, Oregon to live with her aunt, she expected a sleepy little town; the perfect backdrop for her to start piecing back together her life. She wants nothing more than a normal start to her freshman year of college.

Normal is the last thing she’s going to get.

The night she was attacked, it’d been a wolf that chased her down. A wolf that tackled her to the ground. A wolf that began sniffing her. Then she’d opened her eyes, and she’d come face-to-face with him.

But she was delusional. She knew this. There’d been no man.

At least, that’s what she tells herself over and over, even while fighting back the memory of how sinfully gorgeous the man had been, or how viciously he’d growled out that one word:

Mine.

Sadie doesn’t know what is happening to her, or why she’s beginning to exhibit odd symptoms after the attack. All she knows is that her world has been drastically changed. She has no idea how much, or how serious that man’s claim was. Not until he comes back into her life, demanding the one thing that he owns above anything else.

Her.

Thrust into a new world, Sadie is going to be forced to deal with a reality she never expected.

And a dominating, scary, dangerous male that might just not give her any choice but to accept her new life . . . and the fact that he comes along with it.

“You belong to me. I own you. Forever.”

What a great debut paranormal novel!!!
It's been a while since I've read a paranormal romance. This was quite refreshing and satisfying.
Sadie made one single mistake; she took a stroll alone in the woods behind her house late at night. There, she encounters a beast. The wolf nearly kills her but that is not what makes the incident so poignant. The wolf captures her and then something shocking happens; he transforms into a man, a man who seems to want her.
After that, her life spirals out of control. Odd dreams, strange encounters and people who keep secrets from her. What is fantasy and what is reality? Are the memories of the werewolf real or dreams Sadie's mind made up...Read to find out!
This was a quick, fast paced novella that had me glued to my e-reader. I couldn't put it down. The story was exciting, sensual and enthralling! I loved Mrs. Noir's writing. The introduction to the story is quite memorable!
Excellent debut novella! I cannot wait for Onyx.

4.5 Stars from me!!

Arc Kindly provided by Jacqueline Noir for an honest review. Will be posting on amazon when the book goes live. This book is very different from most shape shifter books that I have had the pleasure of reading. I really loved this book. We meet Sadie who is 18 and is living with her aunt Tasha after losing her parents in a car crash. She decides to go into the woods to get some blue berries so she can make some muffins the next morning for breakfast. She walks through the woods lost in thoughts of days spent with her mother when she was younger and doesn't notice that it is getting darker and that she strayed to far into the woods. When she breaks from her thoughts and turns around to go home she hears the sound of branches being broken she keeps walking but notices a man appearing in front of her. her fight or flight instinct kicks in and she takes off running in a different direction to get away from thee man knowing that she is no match for fighting him off. she dares to look over her shoulder and see's that she had lost him but she kept running and comes face to face with a massive black wolf with grey eyes. She takes off again and she can hear the wolf right behind her. He tackles her to the ground and my first though was oh no he is going to eat her. The fall from being tackled by the wolf caused her to hit her head so when the wolf was on her back she curled into a ball. Can't tell you anymore about that cause you have to read it to find out what happened. But lets just say that Sadie wound up in the hospital and thought she was going crazy or having a nervous breakdown. Poor thing thought she was hallucinating through out the book and always thought she was having hot sex dreams about a wolf who shifted to a very sexy man. She thought the hallucinations were the cause of the pain pills she was taking. But little did she know they weren't dreams they were really happening and she just couldn't get her mind to accept them. the rest of the book was really good and I don't want to spoil any of the key points. This was a very quick read and I was sad when it ended. I can't wait for the second book in the series to come out so I can read it. This is a book that once you start reading it you can't put it down.

While Red is a super fast paced novella, it's jam packed with action and I breezed through it in no time. It was incredibly enjoyable and had a great new spin on the paranormal.

Both Sadie and Tanner are interesting characters and I'm anxious it to read more about where they go from here. Sadie learns of a past she's not aware of and Tanner immerses himself to help her find her way. The story is edgy and full of attraction and you'll love every word.

I can't wait for Onyx! Bring it on, Jacqueline!

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review by the author. I really enjoyed this read I immediately fell into this story and was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end to see what would happen next.I loved the characters and the storyline. Red flows along at a nice pace with no drags and it has lots of vivid imagery that make you feel like you are right there witnessing what is going on Shifters action , danger, suspense , and passion this book was amazing. My only complaint is that it ended and now I have to wait for the next book in this series to come out . I love paranormal books and I have to say this is one of the best I have read this year.

4.5 Stars! - I’m generally not a huge fan of paranormal romance. It takes something special to catch my eye and convince me to give it a shot. I am however, a huge fan of fairytale retellings and modernizations so when I read the premise of Jacqueline Noir’s debut novella, Red, I knew I wanted to read it. I was completely and pleasantly surprised by this quick and enchanting novella. From the very first page, Jacqueline Noir had my attention, pulling me effortlessly into the fantastical world she has created. Red is all at once suspenseful, mysterious, and steamy. I adored the twists and turns Jacqueline Noir scattered throughout her story, keeping the reader guessing and ensuring total captivation. Her unique interpretation of this story made it something that is all her own and gave this novella a fresh feel.

Jacqueline Noir did an amazing job with Sadie. Every encounter with her felt enchanted and tentative, pulling me into the dream-like haze that the character can’t seem to work through. There were moments where I shared her uncertainty as to whether or not her nighttime encounters were real or imagined, allowing me to really grasp what Sadie was experiencing. Her mystery man is equally as interesting and unquestionably enthralling. His mysterious alpha bad boy vibe definitely got my attention. The dynamic Jacqueline Noir has crafted between this couple is intense and instant, cranking up the heat on this story in an absolutely delicious way. There also seems to be a shared stubbornness that proves to be endlessly entertaining, especially when their daily lives begin to merge.

The first novella in a serial is always more focused on providing the background information and developing character relationships than it is on the actual action, risking losing the reader with the seemingly slow storyline. Jacqueline Noir did a great job in both designing her characters and sewing the seeds of connection between characters, while also providing enough excitement and suspense to keep the story moving at the perfect pace, maintaining my interest and investment in the story. I have so many questions swirling around in my head after reading this novella in anticipation of the next one. I can’t wait to see where Jacqueline Noir is taking this story. I need to know the roles each character plays in the bigger picture, what’s real and what isn’t, and why these crazy things seem to be happening. Jacqueline Noir has certainly shown her talent with this novella, ensuring that I will be back for more of the VonRouge Series and promising many more fantastic stories as she continues to grow as a writer.

Are you a paranormal kind of person? I would definitely say that is not my genre of choice. I have taken a chance on some paranormals and they seem to really be fitting for me and my “taste.” This being one of those few I have fallen in love with. I want to start off by saying how much I absolutely love Jacqueline Noir and I have been in suspense waiting to read this story ever since she came out and said she was writing it. I am giving it 5 stars because I loved it so much. It was a fast read. I always say that my 5 star ratings are based on content, genre, and my love for the author. In this case, I gave them all 5 stars.

Sadie VonRogue has moved to a small town with her aunt. All she wants is some peace and quiet. But normalcy is not what she will get. She will experience a whole other realm that she didn’t know existed. She was attacked by a wolf in the woods, or was it a man? He sniffed and staked his claim over her, “mine.” But what does that mean? How is she his? When she comes face to face with him again, she realizes he is real. He isn’t just a dream. This book will have you drooling for part two of the VonRogue series.

I believe all women have the desire to be dominated whether by a man, wolf, or pick your poison. Or if you are lucky enough, you have both. The hotness that comes from this book with definitely make you love paranormal, even if just for this story.

I received this book for an honest review from the author via Goodreads.

Sadie VonRouge's life takes unexpected turn when her parents die in a car accident and she has to move in with her aunt in a small town. She ends up in the hospital after one week in town after she is bitten by wolf/man as she remembers it. Once she's home, Sadie starts having these dreams about the guy, Tanner Snow, from the woods that bit her. But are the really dreams? Then Sadie meets the Tanner in person at the college she or they are attending. And that when things start to heat up and boil over for her.

Tanner Snow, is a werewolf who has staked his claim on Sadie and he will not let anything or no one stand in his way. He finally meets her person on her first day of college, where he re-insinuates his claim on her in more than one way. But things don't work out like he planned and there is a complication that he didn't foresee. Will this relationship be over before it even starts?

I enjoyed reading this book. I could not put it down. I can't wait to read part two of this series to see what happens. For a first timer off the bench Jacqueline has hit it out of the park with this one. I can't wait to see what else she has up her sleeves. I recommend this book to others.

I received an ARC in return for an honest review.

WOW, this story started out of the gates strong and continued in the same vein. Immediately my interest was piqued and it held it until the end. Lots of questions were raised by simple events and you begin to wonder if

Sadie is imagining what happened to her in the woods behind her aunts house. People are clearly hiding secrets from her and you begin to wonder what they are so desperate to hide from her.

There is a great paranormal feel and the scenes between Sadie and her mystery man… wolf…visitor… are so hot you might just wanna light up a cigarette afterwards.

Secrets are of course revealed and you find yourself asking more questions rather than getting the answers you so desperately wanted.

When it ended I wanted more… So much more and I cannot wait for the next book in the series. What really surprised me about this, was it’s a debut novel, and all I can say is what a brilliant way to start and grab peoples attention. Bravo!

Red is a fast-paced novella that draws you in from the first page and doesn't let go. It is a twist on the typical shifter romance, telling the story from the perspective of 18 year old Sadie, who has moved into her aunt's house on the edge of the woods after the death of her parents in a car accident. While walking in the forest, she senses something watching her...and the thrill ride begins!

Sadie struggles to understand what exactly happened in the woods and in the days afterward, not sure if she is dreaming, imagining, or remembering, and the mysterious behavior of her aunt and the doctor who treated her injury only add to her confusion. Then her college classes start, and things take off once again when Tanner, who has haunted her thoughts, appears in class and sits down beside her.

I read this in one sitting, and as I reached the final page, I realized that my heart was pounding from what had transpired. I'll be waiting on the edge of my seat for Onyx!

This book was kickass, I started this and could not put it down. I was immediately drawn in from page 1.I could picture everything described and I could definitely feel the connection between Sadie and her mystery man. They were burning up my kindle for sure. I'm seriously in need of the next book I have to know what happens next. Just when it was getting so good it ended and I was yelling I need more! Finding out who Sadies mystery man was one of my favorite parts of Red, He can bite me anytime. Great debut for Jacqueline Noir she did a wonderful job.

Oh my goodness. It seems like I waited FOREVER for this book. Ahh, But it was totally worth the wait.

Tanner is a total alpha male. Sadie is HIS girl, he seen her first. He marked her first, but someone interrupted him. Who this person is, we have no clue. I'm dying to find out though.

And poor Sadie, she thinks that she is crazy with all them weird dreams she has been having. I mean, they ARE dreams.....Right!?

Can't wait for the next book and read more from Sadie and Tanner!

Red (VonRouge Book #1) by Jacqueline Noir is a paranormal romance novella. I gave it four stars. There were homonyms & typos that cost it a star.

Sadie VonRouge is an eighteen year old living with her Aunt Tasha. Both her parents were killed in a car accident.

At a time in a different forest years before, a treasured time spent with her mother, the she remembers: "Warm arms encased me from behind as my mother leaned close to my ear, chastising me for not slowing down.

Over & over she had explained, but I never truly understood. 'The forest air is different than the regular air out in the rest of the world, honey,' she'd said, tucking a loose strand of my hair behind my ears. 'You have to keep your breaths slow & even, or it will be too troublesome to breathe.' She spoke softly, explaining that the forest consisted of an abundance of moisture-filled air, which was too difficult to breathe with hurried breaths. It was meant to make you slow down & enjoy the peace nature offered."

She misses her parents terribly, especially her mother.

After an event in the woods, she dreamed about a gray-eyed man. On her first day of college, he came into class late & she learned his name was Tanner Snow.

"Lust is taking over my body while fear conquers my mine. The tug of war is spiraling out of control." There is X-rated language & steamy erotic situations. This is for a mature audience.

I received a complimentary copy from Amazon. That did not change my opinion for this review.

This story has elements of werewolf fairy tales, but it is totally happening in the modern world. The entire story is told from the point of view of the heroine as she deals with what happened to her when she took a walk in the forest as night fell.
The thing is, this is not exactly a normal werewolf story. Our heroine's family has a history that she has been told her whole life, but didn't believe. As things happen to her, and she has strange effects from them, we begin to double exactly what will happen. She is only 18 years old, and has to grow up very fast, as she tries to tell the difference between reality and hallucination.
The plot goes in very original directions, and the sexual tension is intense. The scenes are really well-written, with the environment painted around the characters, but all focus is on Sadie and what is happening to her.
I really loved this story and will definitely read as it continues in the next book.
I received an ARC copy and this is an honest review.

Ok, not great.

You know something is building in this story. There's a good amount of suspense leading up to a devastating attack. Sadie isn't sure what happened because her memory is spotty. All she knows is something is out there and it wants her.
Tanner feels pretty lucky that he found his mate. He just has to convince he she is his.
This book isn't a very original story. The girl is orphaned-her parents die in a car accident. She lives with a single aunt who has a lot of secrets. Sadie's mate is searching for her, finds her, and now has to win her over. This is like a lot of books currently released.
This book is ok, not great and I don't think the storyline is strong enough for this to be a series. I would have rather it was a stand alone and completed on one book. I'm probably not buying the next book because there wasn't enough to really grab me. I'm a little disappointed in this book.

I absolutely devoured this debut novel from Jacqueline Noir and am desperate for more!

One of my all time favorite genre's is paranormal so mix that with erotic and it is absolute gold to me! The plot line was well thought out and unique and had a great flow to it. The writing was so well done I would have never guessed this was a first time Author.

I absolutely fell head over heels for Tanner and can't wait until I can get some more of him!

Overall this was a short, sexy read that will leave you begging for more!

TWO books, back to back just left me HANGING!! WTF!!

When I started this I was in the mood for something other than biker or billionaire. I got it with this one. I thought it started out kinda of cheesy but I was enjoying it.

Then I started getting images of Edward and Bella with an erotic twist. I'm not saying it a copy, some scenes just made me think of them.

This is loosely based on the classic Little Red Riding Hood with ALL kind of erotic twists. A short read with a helluva cliffhanger, I did not expect.

"Red" is basically a dark contemporary retelling of Red Riding Hood and the Wolf. I loved it. The author really knows how to keep you on tender hooks with subtle intrigue and very engaging main characters. My only complaint is the book is not long enough, I want more NOW.. That cliffhanger is a doozie.. :)
