Lindi Carson has no time for romance in her life--not when she's scrambling to make a success of her Coeur d’Alene Lake shore café. She's barely keeping her head above water when biker Jack Moran hits town, sure she knows where to find nearly a million in stolen cash. When Jack grabs her, Lindi must convince him he has the wrong woman.

But Jack's not the only one after the money, and someone is willing to kill to get it. With murder lurking in this idyllic resort town and a dangerous MC on the prowl, Jack must persuade Lindi she belongs not only under his protection … but in his arms. He'll use every ounce of his rough charm to get her, but he may have to battle old ghosts to keep her there.

Can he convince her that love's sweetness is worth the sting?

WEAK! WEAK a*s stupid annoying book! And I NEVER EVER say stuff like that!!!
I am soo so pissed I bought this bundle... and for $10.00

Okay, spoilers ahead... so read at your own risk.

One I do not understand at all how this book got as many stars as it did?
description

Okay, I can look past the disjointed writing. Some of the book flowed while other times it was almost hard to read.

But I can't look past how horrible the main character is. First, I am not sure why the author made Lindi seem like she was a size 24 woman. When I say she really pushed it that she was a big girl, take a look at the first whole dang chapter of the book. THEN at about 75% of the book the author lets us know she is only a size 10! A freaking size ten! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! The girl seriously makes it out to seem like she's some huge woman.... Okay sure, whatever, you can be a size ten and think your big and all but when you make it out to seem like you're this big ass girl like huge it does an actual injustice to anyone over a f*cking size 16!
description

Alright. Everyone has their own ideas on size and I get that. How about us fast forwarding to how unbelievably weak she is. It's almost sicking. So they have a huge fight and he calls her a whore... and she then goes back and apologizes to HIM.
Excerpt: Part 1: "No!" she moaned. She backed away from him, shaking her head. Had he just called her a whore? “I respect you, I just … I just can’t be with a man who …” A man who wouldn’t promise her she’d never be stung again."
Part 2: Ridiculously, even as she hurried toward the elevators, she hoped to hear him calling to her, telling her to wait, that they'd talk this out. But only her angry sobbing breaths accompanied her along the quiet hallway."

So then she does leave and ends up in her car... They main guy Jacks best friend Key shows up and this happens : ""Question is," he drawled, "what are you doin’, cryin’ in your car, babe? Thought you were partyin’ with Jack." Lindi hiccupped on a sob. "H-he called me a whore." He winced audibly. "Whoa, that's raw. You had a blow-up, huh?” She nodded.
“Gonna give it to you straight," he said, "'cause I think you can take it. Jack's got a temper, and a mouth on him, but he's a good man. Best I know, in fact. He's like my brother. I'd trust him with my life, and vice versa. Once he's got your back, he'll do anything for you."
"Keep it simple," he said dryly. "Fix up pretty again, go back there and a-pol-o-gize." He drew the word out with comic emphasis, but the look in his eyes said he meant every word.

AND SHE DOES IT!!! and the whole time she is apologizing... yes you read that right SHE is apologizing, he makes it seems like he is doing her a favor by "forgiving her."

description

THEN.. god... yes there is a fu*cking then... they make up and he just leaves, is super cryptic on the phone and even hangs up with her when a chick named Carol shows up. What do you expect us to think as readers... oh and with his track record... yeah seems to me he is gonna go do this new chick... Seemed that way to Lindi too.

And he has the balls to say this to Key when Linda seems to finally have grown a pair.
"Jack had about had it with Lindi, honey sweet or not. She was playin’ games with him, and he did not like it."
description

I took a chance on this 4 pack book for $10.00 because they summaries sounded right up my ally. They really did. I bever pay this much for a book, but all the "amazing" reviews, I thought this had to be a winner.

I am going to TRY the next book.... Oh please, please, not let me have wasted $10... PLEASE

Show Me the Honey by Catherine Cade was the first book in the Sweet and Dirty BBW Romance series. It was my first book by the author.

It was written as a third perspective from inside the main characters heads. It started out with a suspenseful vibe and it ended fairly quickly so the main storyline was the relationship development between Lindy and Jack. Although Jack was a member of an MC, he was an independent and it didn’t have the typical MC storyline. For those that don’t like the typical MC antics, it should appeal as it was mild and thankfully no OW/OM drama.

In the end, it was written well but for some reason I didn’t connect well with the characters. I think it was the timing of the read combined with my current mood versus the storyline, character development and writing skill. As a result, I plan on continuing in the series with Kit, Remi and Keys in Honey for Nothin’. It has the promise to be eventful and spicy.

I am, generally speaking, a reasonable reviewer and try to give a balanced review. I freely admit to being an emotional reader whose enjoyment of chemistry and emotional connection trumps all. However, I always try to be objective in my reviews and find the good, bad and everything in between. To be positive in my critiques. But this….this is testing me.

Now, I can love a good biker romance. Trainwrecks with big soapy, emotional elements fascinate me, and reading a biker romance can be a glimpse into a lifestyle that I’m not personally familiar with. You can watch the lifestyles of the rough and ready from the comfort of your own couch, feel that touch of danger while being completely safe. Now, have I enjoyed problematic books in the past? Yes I have. This... is not that book.

SO I feel the need to be spoilery, because my criticisms need more context. This next bit’s definitely spoilery and if that’s not for you I’ll put it under spoiler tags.

I wanted to find something to be positive about, so I will say there are elements to the plot that had potential. Had there by ANY possible balance between the hero and heroine, some time spent allowing the heroine to stand up to the hero and show that they were equals, I could have possibly gotten past all….well, probably not, but I would have tried.

In conclusion, this may be some folk’s cuppa tea, but me?

Do you like alpha, sexy, dirty talking guys with a bit of swagger? Then you will love Jack. Jack is an interesting character. He has a lot of characteristics that normally would set me off but they are offset by a sense of honor and the fact that he can and does apologize when he is in the wrong. Lindi is a young woman forced to grow up way to young. She is naïve in some ways and ancient in others but in the end the bad boy just does it for her.
This is a fun, fast paced read that I devoured in one sitting. Grab a tall cold drink, a fan, and get ready for some seriously sweet & dirty romance. I am looking forward to Keys story as he really intrigued me.

The couple: Jack and Lindi

Romance genre: MC
Series: Sweet & Dirty
Length: 243 pages

Plot: Lindi is finally starting to live her dream with a cafe of her own. She's on her own now after the death of her boyfriend and everything's good with the exception of his creepy brother who hangs around the cafe. One day, a hot biker comes into the diner and she's a bit distracted by him, so it's a surprise when he kidnaps her and throws her in a car with a couple of other bikers. They believe that she knows where some money is, but there's a case of mistaken identity. In the meantime, Jack has decided to keep Lindi, despite her misgivings, and now they have to figure out how to make things work amidst her uncertainty and the danger of the missing money case.

Commentary: So Jack is pretty problematic. They get in a fight - it could have been a small fight, but he's not a rational human being. She was not quick to trust him, and this made him mad. I mean, she met him just a couple of days earlier, you know, when he kidnapped her and took her along on a ride, threatened her, put her in a position where she was physically assaulted, and generally turned her life upside down - over a misunderstanding. He's been really cagey about what he does and where all the money he spends on her comes from. She knows next to nothing about him. But he's mad when she doesn't place all her faith and trust in him. And his temper is hot enough that he basically calls her a whore and lets her leave (even though she might be in danger). And then his friend tells her to apologize. And she does. And he lets her. He goes out on the road, barely contacts her, and then when she doesn't answer right away, he thinks she's "playing games" and he gets mad at her. He spends all his time jumping to conclusions, ignoring her valid concerns, disregarding what she wants and needs, acting as though her previous life doesn't exist or isn't important, and being angry at her. If I were her, I would have had enough of angry men, but she's all in at some point.
So the hero of the story is not a good partner at all. I don't mind an alpha hero - I like them, in fact. I don't mind a little Stockholm Syndrome. I don't mind the MC trope. I do mind a hero who doesn't seem to care about the heroine as a person. That was the case here. I gave the story three stars with grace, hoping that the world the author created will get better. There is a foundation there.

Grammar/formatting: some awkward dialogue

Next book in the series: Honey for Nothin'

First of all, I’d like to say that I didn’t know this author.
I won Cathryn's book in a giveaway and it caught my attention because it was a MC book, and I’m a fan. I started with no expectations, just trying to feed my book addiction.
IMAGINE MY SURPRISE!

SHOW ME THE HONEY tells a great story. It’s sweet and mature, but with a young love touch (we are all teens when in love…)

Jack is very rough around the edges and sometimes very rude. But then he does some stuff that makes you completely in awe of him, swooning.
Lindi is just trying to keep her life together, secure something for herself. It’s a very real feeling, they’re very real characters.

Despite their meet cute, she trusts him. It’s kind of sweet when you see that he really is trying to protect her, trying to do right by her.

You need to read this story, once you start you’ll be compelled to know what happens to Jack and Lindi. Two different worlds that are bound together.

There’s no cliffhanger, but it bites you. In the end you want more. Keys is a character that you already fall for in Show me The Honey, and her friends deserve a book each.

YOU MUST READ THIS!

A big fan of Cathryn Cade’s romantic sci-fi series I greatly enjoyed my first introduction to her contemporary works. Show Me the Honey is a great read. Her MC alpha hero Jack cooing dirty words will have you squirming in your seat. Her heroine Lindi is one curvaceous sweet yet feisty package.
A case of mistaken identity finds our heroine kidnapped and reeling from demands to know where the money is. Realizing his mistake our hero Jack is honorable and protective. While definitely an alpha Jack isn’t afraid to admit when he’s wrong and neither is Lindi. After several misunderstandings his one demand is for communication and trust, something we could all learn from. Trust doesn’t come easy for Lindi. Her past has taught her to be wary. What ensues is a sexy romp on the way to trust and love. The story has some interesting secondary characters and I’m definitely looking forward to their upcoming stories as the series continues.

SHOW ME THE HONEY is my new favorite BBW series. Ms. Cade's promise of sweet and dirty came true. I also love her sci-fi series, but I'm so glad she's stepping into the MC contemporary genre. Jack and Lindi have instant chemistry, with a definite suspenseful twist. I was rooting for their happy ending the whole way. Looking forward to her next book in this "can't-put-down" series.

I liked it and I didn't like it.

I found the two main characters kind of annoying - especially the way they both talked. Keys held most of my interest. I liked how they met but didn't like the constant doubt. I found Jack to be a bit more overbearing vs Alpha. It was a good foundation for a series, so I may grab the next one.

I'd never read this author before now, so after reading the synopsis that seemed right up my alley, I decided to give it a shot. It was interesting enough, but with a few issues.

Lindi felt like a bit of a doormat at times, but she also seemed like a strong woman sometimes as well. It was an interesting dichotomy, especially when coupled with her view of herself. For the record, size 10 is NOT a BBW, no matter how tall you are or what your cup size is! There are lots of issues that BBW face, and it felt like the author was mocking them with Lindi being a size 10! A size 16 or 18 would have been more realistic.

Jack was just a straight up a-hole, but since he's a biker, it's forgiven, right? Uh, no! However, there were times where his protective nature showed him to be a knight in shining armor, and I really liked seeing those.

The supporting characters kept the book more interesting for me than the main ones did, so that's why the rating didn't slip lower than what I've given it for me. The premise has me intrigued enough to read the next book in the series, so we'll see how things go.

I really like this one! It was steamy and got right to the point. I was waiting for the plot twist or the third act and I am happy to tell you that it didn't come. It was low angst (except at the beginning when she met him and then he later kidnapped her) the rest was smooth and she might have had some Stockholm syndrome but hey! no one is perfect. I will be moving to book 3 in the series as soon as I get off work.

Lindi Carson’s BeeHive Cafe is gaining a reputation for serving up the best breakfasts in the Coeur d’ Alene Lake area. I absolutely love stories featuring restaurants, chefs, food, you name it. Ms. Cade did a fab job creating a charming atmosphere and had me imagining the mouthwatering smells of pancakes, maple syrup, and coffee in this cute, tiny retro diner with its yellow Formica counters. Lindi has a small group of loyal local customers and enough tourists to keep the BeeHive afloat. Just barely. So when a gorgeous, sexy, hotter than hot Harley riding hunk kidnaps her and demands to know where the money is…well Lindi’s confused. What money? If she had money she wouldn’t be working her ass off. Okay, her ass could stand to lose some acreage but that’s beside the point.

Oh my goodness, Jack had me drooling from the moment he swings his leg over the bike and saunters into the BeeHive! Ms. Cade knows how to create a man! It’s not only adorable it’s lots of fun to watch Lindi get flustered by Jack. And the feeling is mutual. Jack is here on business but damn, that woman and her curves. The cute way she blushes at his comments. He’s getting all hot and bothered himself. But when her spidey senses suddenly shout Danger! Lindi is fast. Too bad Jack is faster. Lindi finds herself tossed into a van and on her way to who knows where. With a man that has her heart pounding and her libido in overdrive. Which has her, even more, confused than the money thing because this guy just kidnapped her! Shouldn’t she be scared out of her mind instead of ready to rip her clothes off?

I loved, loved, loved Lindi. She’s comfortable in her own skin, she accepts who she is and what fate has dealt her. She stands up to these kidnappers and tells it to them straight. So when the facts are figured out, and Lindi learns the real story, she can breathe a sigh of relief. Or can she? Jack and his buddy aren’t the only ones who are looking for that money. Jack can’t just walk away and leave her when he knows she might be in real danger. Yep, that’s it. He can’t in all good conscience leave her like a lamb in the woods, can he? And if he gets to sample some of those luscious curves…

Jack is a decent guy. In fact, he’s more than decent. He’s all alpha male bent on protecting what’s his, and after day one he’s decided that Lindi is his. Mmm, mmm, mmm that man has some hot as hell moves that will melt the panties right off of you. Er, I mean Lindi. His dirty talk made me all tingly. On top of all that he’s sweet and, he wants more than a fling. He just has to convince Lindi.

Show Me The Honey is fast-paced, full of fun, sprinkled with suspense, and best of all the story and characters are stellar.

A TERRIFIC BEGINNING OF A ENJOYABLE SERIES
I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW ........ OVER 18 + READING
Lindi Carson, owns a cafe in a small town, and then she is kidnapped by biker looking guy and two friend because they think she knows where the missing stolen money is (over a million dollars). Jack soon realizes that she is telling the truth, he kidnapped the wrong woman which in a way is a good thing because he is drawn to her from the beginning and she to him (so she thinks she must be crazy, after all he kidnapped her). Together he and his friend Keys get rid of Keys nephew (who hurt her), then they and Lindi figure out where the money could be. That first night is a crazy night, but so will the next few weeks as they try to figure out how they feel and what they want from life and each other. Both Lindi and Jack have a family history that lead them to act in ways that alarm the other though they still want to be together, no matter what they tell themselves. This is a fun and romantic HEA story that I really liked and hope to read the rest of the series. I will tell you I hope you read this but I don't want to say to much because it takes place in such a short time frame, but so much happens.

3.5 Sweet BBW Stars

Lindi Carson has a little breakfast diner in the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho which is her life. She's struggling since the death of her boyfriend who helped her out. And it doesn't help that she's being stalked by his less than savory brother, Darrell.

When Jack Moran walks into her diner one morning, everything changes for Lindi. It seems Darrell's stalking has brought a couple of bikers into her life, who believe she's his woman and has the money he owes them. Lindi does everything she can to convince them she despises Darrell.

Once Jack figures out she's an innocent in all of this, he sets out to claim this cute, feisty woman as his own.

This was a cute biker story. A little danger at the beginning, but mostly just two people who start out on rocky ground trying to find their footing in a relationship.

I would definitely like to read the second book about Kit, Keys and Remi. Now that sounds HOT!

Lindi is a sweet, down home type of girl, who lost what she thought was the love of her life. She is trying to hang onto her diner and make her life better. In walks a big badass biker name Jack and she is instantly drawn to him, but like most BBW we don't expect the hot ones to go for her. When in reality he is there for the money. Jack watches and waits until time for the him to make his move. Being a MC guy, he knows what he has to do for the club, for his brothers and himself. Lindi doesn't have a clue. But Jack persuades her that after things happen she is worth the wait, worth the love and his love. She is everything he wasn't looking for, yet it smacked him in the face. I won't tell you anything more but know this is a 5 star read and I can't wait to go onto the other ones as well. I have to know what happens with her best friends. It's a HEA and I think you will fall in love with them as I did.

Lindi met Jack when he kidnapped her and terrorized her because he thought she had some money that belonged to him. Despite this, she couldn’t stop thinking about how “hot” he was. Once he realized that she didn’t have his money, he apologized by buying her some clothes which she tried repeatedly to refuse. Then, they went back to his hotel and had $ex.

When she wouldn’t agree to completely trust him after only knowing him for two days, he called her a “whore” for taking the clothes that he bought her and she walked out on him. Instead of having the spine and the good sense to kick this loser to the curb, she went back and APOLOGIZED to him!!! F*ck that and the horse it rode in on. I would give this book negative stars if I could.

Oh what a book!!

Lindi feels her life is as good as it's going to get. She has her restaurant but after her boyfriend dies she is alone. She fears she'll stay that way because she can't trust and fears she will never be able to. Jack is a man who loves his bike, his parents and his club. He travels around with his best friend but has never found a woman who has made him want to stay out. Until he meets lindi and things take a turn. For good or bad these to people have to learn to trust each other and that their hearts don't get broken. This is a fast paced and very HOT read but it is well worth it.

Okay, I've had some time to think and I removed one star. Firstly, I love reading BBW books, as a big woman it is nice to find characters you might identify with. But this book... the author had me believe the main character was a big woman only to reveal she was only a size 10! Yes a size 10.

She was also incredibly weak and would make any woman who stands up for herself cringe. This character apologised to the male after he insulted her?!? Are you serious? Is this book secretly set in the 50's?

Will definitely not continue the series

This is a hard review to give. The book started out okay, but with the quick resolve of the mystery (?), it kinda went blah. First of all, the author really needs to learn what fat is. It isn't a size 10-12. I've been a size 10-12 and that is not fat. Lindi shouldn't have had to deal with thinking that. Caused her to be wishy warshy. I'm all in on alpha, dirty mouthed bikers, but couldn't get into Jack for some reason. He, also, started out okay, but later, didn't like his steam rolling attitude. Loved Keys. I think if the characters were better developed, I might have enjoyed it more.

Show Me the Honey: Sweet & Dirty BBW Romance by Cathryn Cade.

This was my first time reading this author and I was not disappointed. I have a new go-to author to add to my list :p If you like a hot read that incorporates dirty talking, sexy alpha males and curvy, sassy females together with mistaken identities that lead to a kidnapping and some twists and turns, then this is the book for you. It’s a fast and fun read that will leave you breathless.

Heroine is TSTL

Heroine is TSTL with no spine. I like MC romances with gruff, rude heros, but they have to know when they’re wrong and when to apologize. The heroine in this is always apologizing first, and for what? Being rightfully suspicious? DNF

I grabbed this one as a freebie and voluntarily leave my honest review.
This is a new to me author and while I found it easy to read I thought some parts were glossed over where more details would have given the plot and characters more depth.
I though this was a BBW h but I guess my take and this authors take on what size means BBW is very different.
I thought Jack had his good and bad parts and on occasion came across really jerk-ish. I mean he calls Lindi a whore, just because he has a bit of a temper?!?! Like wow but what topped that off was she apologised to him!!! Ugh weak!
Lindi was a bit of a door mat when it came to Jack but showed strength in other aspects of her life like building a business at such a youngish age.
I feel the MC aspect of the story was light as Jack wasn't actually a patched in member or anything and he and Keys, his biker friend, were independent from the clubs who were mentioned.
Some ok secondary characters and while I may give the next book in the series a go, its not at the top of my TBR list.
Overall an ok start to a series.

This book is your typical MC (Motor Cycle) romance with a BBW (Big Beautiful Woman) twist.

Lindi is the humble owner of a small cafe in Idao when her world is turned upside down after she is taken by a mysterious group of bikers. They thought she was the girlfriend of a thug that owed them money, her stalker and ex-boyfriends brother. Once Jack, the devilishly handsome biker, realizes their mistake he is willing to risk it all to apologize to scared cafe owner. He might have taken her from the cafe by mistake, but the volume changes when she takes his heart.

I started this series because it kept showing up on my feed. The first part of the book I really enjoyed but after Lindi is safe Jack appears to be imposing to the point of borderline abusive. He has a hot tempered and the plot that drove the beginning of the book falls off in the middle. Ever is quickly wrapped into a neat little bow. If that works for you, I suggest this as a good starter romance series.

Either way, it's a win for BBW female leads! #support #bodypositivity
