రుక్మిణి గుమ్మంలోకి వచ్చింది. లోపలి నుంచి వెలుతురు కనిపిస్తోంది. పరదాని చేత్తో నెట్టింది. గదిలో కార్పెట్ మీద కృష్ణ చైతన్య పడుకుని వున్నాడు. అతని ఛాతి మీద తల ఆనించి జెనీ పడుకుని వుంది. అతను జెనీ జుట్టు నిమురుతూ అనునయంగా అంటున్నాడు.

నాకు పెళ్లి గాకుండా ఉంటే నేను మరో వ్యక్తికి బందితుడిని కాక పోయినట్లయితే , నిన్ను పెళ్లి చేసుకునేవాడిని జెనీ, ప్రేమించడంలో ఎంత మాధుర్యం ఉందో నీకు నేర్పేవాడిని జెనీ.

ఆ డైరీ నిజంగా నన్ను కదిల్చి వేసింది. ! ఇంకనుంచి నువ్వు ఒంటరి దానివి కాదు ! నేను నీకు ఉన్నాను. ఆ సంగతి మర్చిపోకు ! జెనీ చెంపలు నిమురుతూ నుదుటి మీద ముద్దు పెట్టుకున్నాడతడు .

రుక్మిణి వణుకుతున్న చేతులతో పరదా మూసేసింది. రుక్మిణి చేతులు మెల్లగా కుర్చీని వెనక్కి తిప్పాయి... మనసు నిండా కత్తులతో చీలుస్తున్నటు వంటి బాధ...

యద్దనపూడి సులోచనారాణి సృస్టించిన అపురూపమైన మరో పాత్ర కృష్ణ చైతన్య. కృష్ణ చైతన్య రాజేశ్వరి కొడుకు. వారిది జమీందారు కుటుంబం. రాజేశ్వరి తోడ బుట్టినవాడు శివ ప్రసాద్. ఎక్కడో విదేశీ అమ్మాయిని ప్రేమించి పెళ్లి చేసుకున్నందుకు శివ ప్రసాద్ ను కాదనుకుంటాడు తండ్రి గోవిందవల్లభ రాజా. శివప్రసాద్ కు ఒక కూతురు - ఆమె జెనీ. తల్లిదండ్రుల్ని పోగొట్టుకున్న జెనీకి కృష్ణ చైతన్య అన్నా అతని తల్లి అన్నా ద్వేషం.

కృష్ణ చైతన్య భార్య రుక్మిణి ఒక యాక్సిడెం టులో కాళ్ళు పనిచేయకుండా పోతాయి. చక్రాల కుర్చీకే పరిమితం అవుతుంది. ద్వేషంతో రగిలిపోయి జెనీ, అపార్ధాలతో కుంగిపోయి రుక్మిణి , ఔదార్యంతో ప్రవర్తించే కృష్ణ చైతన్య , కొడుక్కి రెండో పెళ్లి చేయాలని తాపత్రయ పడే తల్లి రాజేశ్వరి - ఇలా విభిన్న మనస్తత్వాల అభూత చిత్రణ.

Yaddanapudi Sulochana Rani is a renowned Telugu novelist. She was very popular among the ladies and the younger generation for her novels about love and drama, with a great fan following during the 1970s and early ’80s. She used to have a strong inclination towards literature from her childhood. She has written over 80 novels. Several of her stories were made into films and television serials. She won two Nandi Awards. Yaddanapudi died of a heart attack on 18 May 2018 in California, U.S., while visiting her daughter.

I heard a lot about yaddanapudi which made me to pick this book.

When Prasad marries a USA women and comes back to India to meet their parents. As usual his parents rejects this marriage so he settles in USA. Mean while here in India Prasad's dad gives all the property to his brother in law.
After a few years when prasad dad falls ill he comes back to see him with two kids, but he was not allowed to, when he want to go back his wife stops him . They both die in mysterious ways and the guardian will take those kids(Jenny and Bobby) and rush back to USA .

After a generation passed they will come back to India saying the reason that Jenny's would-be died before marriage and she got mentally upset.She needs change, they will get a answer that are happily invited to stay in India as many days they want.
But both Jenny and Bobby has different aims to visit India.

Will they able to achieve their aims or change their behavior after seeing the love and affection of the other family(Krishna, Rukmini, rahul, bhavani)

Rukmini character is highly sensitive and weak. All Characters have typical once upon time mentalities(of course this is once upon a time book that's the reason it didn't give kick .other than that story is good )
