Thought provoking and sweetly kinky with a dash of coming of age...

“There’s something very therapeutic about facing off with fear,” he said. “Challenging life back.”

This book really took me by surprise. I thought we were traveling in one direction with it, and I wound up being surprised and delighted with how the story evolved!

I had my moments of worry as the book opened up with an innocent virgin interviewing to be the secretary at a BDSM club. You might know that I run a blog called The Smutsonian and we recently posted the Top 5 things we're tired of reading in Erotic Fiction. Within the first 30% or so, this book was checking things off that list like it was mission critical.

I am so pleased to say that the story evolved into something glorious, entertaining, and utterly unique.

Enthrall is not your average BDSM Club.
It's not a sex club with a D/s slant...
It's something much different...

“Hopefully by now you’ve come to understand Enthrall is more than it first appears,” he said.

“People who don’t respond to conventional therapy use this place as a last resort. [...] It’s a lifestyle choice. Some people choose to drink every day despite what it does to their liver, some smoke, some overeat.” He shrugged. “Inevitably we all use a crutch.”

Enthrall believes in rebirth and revitalization through BDSM. Fighting pain with pain, so to speak.

Mia is not permitted to travel down the elevator at Enthrall and see the mysterious rooms where this alternative form of therapy is carried out on clients which return from their sessions utterly blissed out. Mia has the sole POV of this book. Her employment at Enthrall is critical. She's been working two jobs and struggling to pay her step-mothers medical bills. She's wasting away in a studio apartment in LA. The salary at Enthrall will ensure she has room to breathe.

Unfortunately, she has to fight to keep her position. She's an innocent, her very presence stirs the clientele. She knows nothing about sex and even less about BDSM. She's working (and bonding with) three dominatrixes, her boss Richard is mysterious and captivating, and Cameron... Well, he's just dangerous.

Richard Booth

Of course Mia falls for him almost instantly.
But there's another player in this game...

Cameron Cole

Cameron is Richard's best friend, the Club's psychiatrist, and he can't seem to stop luring Mia into uncomfortable situations. He enjoys the thrill of the hunt, he's a master manipulator, devilishly handsome, and he oozes sex.

It soon becomes clear that Cameron is pushing Mia and Richard together, but Richard is only pushing back. Both men are hanging on by a thread and Mia's innocence is drawing each of them in.

This isn't your average love triangle, and I'm quite curious to see how this story evolves in the next few books.

There was a lot of humor which balanced the incredible heat of this book. It was beautifully written, and once it sank its hooks into me I was unable to put it down. I was impressed.

4.5 Enthralling, Captivating and take my pants off because I'm aroused, Stars.

WOW!!!!! Well I need to start this review by stating that this was nothing like what I was expecting. I was expecting some sort of angst ridden, 'who will she pick', love triangle and I actually couldn't have been further from the truth!!!!

This is the story of Mia, who lands herself a great new job at Enthrall as secretary to Assistant Director Mr. Richard Booth.....but this is no ordinary secretarial role...... Enthrall is L.A's premier fetish club ..... and Richard Booth can only be described as "Dominant, Master, Enigma."

But what happens when innocent, naive Mia must fight to keep her job?. Can she trust her new found ally, and resident psychiatrist Cameron Cole?, and can she contain her growing attraction to her new, very dominant but clearly very broken, boss?.

This was my first experience of this author and I have to say it will most certainty not be my last. Right from the early pages I was thrown into this intensely erotic story. To say I was aroused would be a flipping understatement. By page 40 I was literally....



And OMG, the men in this book....HOT....is not nearly a good enough word to describe their testosterone fuelled, dominate alpha ways.......at one point whilst reading one seriously sexual charged scenes I was thinking....



......but what really blew me away was what came alongside all the steam and erotic sex. Yes of course there was the hot, erotic pleasure/pain angle but there was also an underlying emotive storyline. This author can not only write really bloody great (and descriptive) erotic scenes but there was also an intensity to the story that grabbed my attention and kept it all the way to the end. Of course it also helped that the writing flowed beautifully, the characters were engaging, there was a great mix of drama, a good splash of humour, a story that developed at the right pace and a story that allowed me to develop a connection with the characters.

This was a very solid 4.5 stars for me, (I only knocked half a point off due to something that I really, really, really wanted to happen, but I can't say anymore as I'd hate to spoil the story for others).

If you want a story that is super HOT, but also gives a good balance of great story line and engaging characters then I would highly recommend this one.

Mia Lauren is a young and innocent twenty one year old who is working two jobs just to make ends meet. Her mother died of an overdose when she was young and a few years later her father died in a motorcycle accident. Her stepmother, Lorraine, took her in and raised her. Later, Lorraine was diagnosed with cancer and had to have expensive treatment. Mia feels responsible for Lorraine and is trying to help pay for her medical bills. When a friend tells her about a job opportunity that would pay enough so that she wouldn't have to worry anymore she jumps at the chance. Her interview was less than stellar, but she lucks out and gets the job at Enthrall anyway.

Mia is now the new secretary for Richard Booth, the Assistant Director of Enthrall, a premiere fetish club in L.A. Mia is responsible for checking his email, running errands and greeting the customers. Their first meeting was rather comical. Since the Dominatrices (Lotte, Scarlet, and Penny) interviewed and hired Mia, she had yet to meet her new boss, so she didn't know what Richard looked like. When this guy rushes into the office complaining about his contact and rushing down the hallway, Mia does her best to keep him out thinking he was an intruder. When Mia rings the silent alarm Lotte comes to her rescue, introducing her to her new boss and attempting to make light of the awkward situation.

"Mia's well trained," said Lotte.
"See, even we can't get in."

Mia and Richard notice and internally appreciate each other's good looks, but keep it strictly professional. Mia is innocent and doesn't have any experience with the types of things that go on down in the dungeon. Curious though, she beings looking up S&M on the Internet. She's intrigued by some pictures and she soon starts having sexual day dreams about Richard.



Richard is attracted to Mia too, but he doesn't do serious relationships anymore, so he steers clear of Mia as much as possible. Attraction or not though, Richard is concerned about the lack of knowledge Mia has in the sexual world. He soon finds an excuse to fire her which has Mia turning to Cameron for help. Cameron Cole is the Director and psychologist of Enthrall, but more importantly he is Richard's best friend. It also doesn't hurt that he's good to look at too.

I have to say the scene where Mia goes to beg for her job back and Cameron "helps" her convince Richard was hot. I was secretly hoping for a ménage moment, but there wasn't.

Cameron is interested in helping his best friend move on from his tragic past. Richard isn't interested in making any type of romantic connection or loving anyone. Cameron, however, thinks Mia might just be the key that allows Richard to have a love life again. So he gets creative and sets up different situations that push Richard and Mia together, eventually making them acknowledge their attraction for one another. As their feelings grow they can't help but to act on them and are soon falling in love.



Richard is a dominant and he's damn good at it, but when it came to Mia, I loved seeing his jealous and loving side. Mia may be young and innocent, but she's not afraid to fight for what she wants. She doesn't let anyone stand in her way, even Richard. Her determination led her to show up unescorted to a sex party at Chrysalis. Cameron had to come to her rescue and save her from some unwanted sexual attention. Even though he knows Mia is Richard's he can't help but to notice her.

"You are the most beautiful creature I've ever seen and until now I've been able to give you up to Richard." He slowed his breathing."Until now."

I loved the writing in this book. Everything flowed so smoothly for me that I finished this in one day. I thought more was going to happen than what did and I don't know why the drama at the end was needed, but I can only assume that this was more of the build up for the next book. I'm okay with that. Luckily for me books two and three are already out, so I don't have to wait to finish this story. I loved all of the dominatrix ladies at Enthrall, especially Lotte. They were so nice and friendly to Mia from the very beginning. I hope that we get to know more them. But more than anything I loved Cameron. A lot. There's just something about him that pulls you in. I think everyone who reads this will love him too. Learning the depth of his and Richard's friendship was compelling. My naughty side also wants to see more of Chrysalis. While there isn't a love triangle yet, I can easily see one forming and am intrigued. Cameron is not immune to Mia's innocence either which is what I think is so attractive about her to everyone. Overall, this was an enjoyable read, one that I will can't wait to continue on with. I want to know what happens next!

Struggling to make ends meet financially, Mia Lauren takes a job as a secretary for the exclusive fetish club Enthrall. Mia is pretty naïve when it comes to sex, men, and knows absolutely nothing about the BDSM lifestyle. Richard, her new boss and the club’s senior dominant, is concerned that her lack of sexual experience and knowledge will inhibit her from being able to do her job at Enthrall and does his best to get her to seek employment elsewhere. Mia desperately needs the extravagant salary provided by her new job, so she seeks the help of Richard’s best friend Cameron, who happens to be Enthrall’s director and psychologist, to help her fight for her job.

While working at the club, Mia realizes that she is very attracted and drawn to Richard and his sexual preferences. She is hesitant to pursue her feelings for him because she doesn’t want to endanger her job if the relationship doesn’t work out. While Richard is attracted to Mia as well, he tries to keep his distance from her because he no longer feels he is capable of loving another person and no longer pursues serious relationships with women. Cameron believes that Mia might be the one woman who can help Richard move on from his tragic past and find love again. He creates situations between Richard and Mia that force them to recognize their attraction and feelings for one another. Things get complicated when Cameron also realizes that he is attracted to Mia but he tries his best to put his feelings for her aside for Richard’s sake.



My Thoughts
I want to start off by saying that BDSM and sex scenes in this book were very mild compared to some of the other BDSM erotica I have read. In fact, I am not even sure I would classify this particular book as erotica because there weren’t that many sex scenes in it. I am not saying this to discourage you from reading this book, I just wanted to give you an idea of what to expect regarding the BDSM and sexual elements of this novel.

What I Enjoyed
Cameron! I actually think I enjoyed Cameron and Mia together more than I liked her with Richard. I love how he is caring, protective, intelligent, and very alpha male!

Mia’s journey from the shy, innocent, naïve woman she was when she started working at Enthrall to the woman who does whatever it takes to fight for her job and man of her dreams. She definitely has to go to some extremes to keep both =)

What I Struggled With
Richard’s character kind of fell flat for me. Going into this book, I expected Richard to be a sexual, dominant, alpha male who would stop at nothing make Mia his own. In reality, I thought he was actually really wishy washy when it came to his relationship with Mia.

The ending. I know that the book blurb alludes to a possible love triangle between Mia, Richard, and Cameron but while I was reading, it seemed like Mia and Richard were going to end up together. Then at the end, it kind of seemed like Cameron might be joining their relationship as well? I guess I was just confused because I thought Mia would either end up with Richard or Cameron, not both of them. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against ménage relationships, the ending just didn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the book.

Overall, I enjoyed reading Enthrall even though I struggled with a few aspects of the book. I definitely plan on continuing the series to see what happens next for Mia, Richard and Cameron.

5 Sultry, Enthralling Stars!
A Provocative and Thrilling Read! Simply Irresistible from Beginning to End!



The Review:
There are some books that are so masterfully done that when you hit that last page, you want to instantly go back to the beginning and relive the experience all over again. For me, this is one of those books. As soon as I was done, I couldn’t help but want to go back to the first page and relive all the sensational, gripping moments once more.

Story...
BDSM. Some would call it a dark, forbidden path, steeped in debauchery and wickedness. Other would say it is enlightenment, freeing one's inhibitions and reservations. And then there are those who know nothing of its existence at all. But for Enthralls employees and members, its a necessary in life. In some cases, its a way to expel the pain life heaps on them and in other cases, its a way to enjoy one’s proclivities in a healthy, consensual way.

Characters...
This book was filled to the rim with fascinating, well developed characters. Both main and sub’s were fun, entertaining and full of life.

Mia...
Mia Lauren is young, beautiful and innocent. She’s also drowning in debt as she takes on the responsibilities of her ailing stepmothers medical bills. So when her friend Tara tells her about the position she just left as secretary to a private, swanky kink club called Enthrall, Mia jumps at the chance to apply knowing she’ll never get that kind of pay working the shift jobs she’s currently employed at. When she interviews, she quickly realizes just how out of her element she is, but if they are willing to give her a chance, she'll do just about anything to prove she can do the job required.

When she enters the heady, dizzying world of Enthrall where dark fantasies are fulfilled and certain appetites realized, her innocence shines like a beacon to those who cross that dark domain, most notably, her boss Richard and his best friend Cameron. This unveiled world in turn, peaks her interest and arouses her curiosity and she herself is drawn to the life she never knew existed.

I really liked Mia. Yes, she was innocent and naive, but she was also open minded and was willing to embrace her desires no matter how forbidden they might be. Her story isn’t just one of indulgence though. She has some real issues to overcome and her willingness to understand herself as well as those around her and to let both Richard and Cameron help, made her character more real.

Watching her submit to Richard was a beautiful thing. She still carried her dignity and her individuality but she wanted to let Richard take the reins and help her find her submissive side.

Richard...
Richard Booth is wealthy, intelligent and incredibly handsome. He’s also shrouded in secrets and a dark past that has left him emotionally crippled. When he meets Mia, he wants nothing to do with her, desperately pushing her away. But there is something about her he can’t entirely let go. She shines in a bleak world that is filled with misery and drowning pain and he wants to grab onto her like a life preserver. But he’s terrified of what his darkness is capable of. He’s tortured and intense and yet he still seeks the light.

He peered down at me with his noble, intelligent face. The kind that hints at good breeding, as though both his parents had been stunners. Like he’d stepped off the cover of a yachting magazine, all suntan and privilege. Yes, beautiful, that was it, and rugged at the same time. An hypnotic combo.

I really liked Richard. He was complicated, sarcastic and sometimes severe but he wasn’t bitter nor intentionally cruel. He still had heart even after the horrific things in his past. He transformed his anger and hurt into daring exploits and adventures and he found a way to settle the demons in his mind. He is still drowning in self loathing but with Mia, those feelings started to fade into the background. My heart broke for him but I loved his strength and his dominant personality. He was totally delish!

Cameron...
And then there’s Cameron Cole! Sexy, intelligent, fascinating. This man stole the spotlight for me.

Cameron comes from old money and he knows what his good looks, his charm and his complex personality does to people. He has a way of working through problems that may seem calculated and shocking but if you take the time to look past the surface, you’ll see the concern, the love and the need for his extreme actions. He’s highly intelligent, seeming to have a plan and course of action for every event that unfolds. He’s devoted to his best friend Richard and he loves fiercely, knowing the end, justifies the means. He doesn’t hide who he is but he’s also clouded in mystery. He seems like an anti-hero, then he seems like a genuine friend but all the while, he’s smoldering hot, sexy as sin and just all around yummy! I can’t wait to read more about him. The triangle between him, Mia and Richard fascinated me and left me wanting and craving more!

The “Girls” in leather were fun and I loved their friendship to Mia. The way they circled around and protected her and took her under their wings was caring and brilliant. I love strong, dominant women who can hold their own and these women were certainly that. I also really liked the bff’s, Bailey and Tara. I want a girls night out with all of them! I can only imagine the shenanigans we’d all get up to!

The Wrap Up:
Enthrall delighted and seduced me. The story was delicious, the characters sexy and the romance captivating! I can’t wait for book two. I want to know how this story unfolds and where ALL the characters are headed, especially Richard, Mia and Cameron.

I am utterly Enthralled!

This series had me enslaved from page one, the writing was elegant, witty, and smooth. The story so very refreshing. As having read many BDSM novels Enthralled surprised me with an original storyline, it’s slow build up had me turning pages throughout the night. The characters are all unique and intriguing and had my mind wondering which direction this book would lead.



I'm keeping this review short because I spent waaaay too much time making the images for this review, but I just couldn't help myself!!! I absolutely loved everything about this series, it is amazing and I would very much recommend it to anyone new to reading about the BDSM genre. Enthralled exemplifies the BDSM community with respect and deference to it’s safe, sane, consensual principles. This was done right and handled with care. Vanessa Fewings...very impressive lady!

Enthrall was..umm..wow. It was so different to what I was expecting. Was this because I just read the letters BDSM and skipped the rest of the synopsis? Perhaps. I moved a couple of books down my list so I could get to this faster. I stayed up until the wee hours reading Enthrall. I'm glad I did cause this book was crazy. Crazy in a good way. Quite a few times I sat down with my eyes closed and said, out loud I might add, "This is so fucked up." and "Oh good lord." and more of "This is so fucked up, wtf?". I didn't put it down though, I opened my eyes back up and kept going. Needing to know what the fuck was going on (& please can I get one?), I was intrigued and couldn't read fast enough to get some answers.

"There are people here whose predilections threaten you in every conceivable way. Do.You.Understand?"
"Yes."
"If they so much as lay their eyes on you they'll devour you." His grip tightened. "Like I want to right now."
My sudden gasp made him shudder.
"You are the most beautiful creature I've ever seen and until now I've been able to give you up to Richard." He slowed his breathing."Until now."

Twenty one year old Mia was innocent & naive to anything sexual. Not so naive to the world though, it had not been kind to her so far. She had issues and she didn't even realize how deep they went. I love that she wasn't that annoying virginal type that we read about, not really, she just got on with it. Did what she had to do. Fight for her new job, her sexuality and for love. Work out whether she was being manipulated and whether or not she could the person she needed to be. The masturbation & sexy scenes were so hot they were fogging up my screen and needing relief. Wowza.

"Subjugate you." He stepped closer. "Control you. Conquer you." His left hand rested against my chest and he eased back against the wall again and pressed hard. "Fuck you."

Richard was far far far away from innocent. He was a dominant. He practiced and managed it. He was closed off and hard to get a read on. He had so much going on. Issues, spirituality, chemistry and jealousy (I still have no clue if that's what it was?) But he was desirable. Oh-so-desirable. He had me wanting to nag him for answers, but begging him to spank me first, and talk second. He was complex. Their whole relationship was complex and quite beautiful at times.

"There's something beautiful about a broken man, don't you think? Maybe it's some unspoken promise he'll become more than he is because of it."

You are thinking 'that's not so crazy'. Well, wait til you meet the rest of the gang, *cough Cameron cough*. That's when it just starts getting really fucking weird. I was suspicious, then I was scared, then I was curious, then I was just downright horny. Seriously, that friendship weirds me out. I was with Mia didn't know what to think. I loved that about this book.

"What the fuck, Cameron! What the fucking, fuckerty, fuck!"

I need more!! I need to know what's going on next with the latest crazy revelation that was enough to put Mia, who takes everything in her stride, flat on her ass. Will Mia confront the one person in her life that probably has an answer? Chrysalis - god, please, I need more of that. Enough of the mystery, I'm ready to know and play. What's going on with Bailey & Tara? Is there more than to all of this than meets the eye? I want deets on Scarlett & Lotte. I just want more nowwwwwwwww!

I was over the moon and excited when the author of Enthrall approached me to write a honest review exchange for ARC. I read the plot and I said to myself. YES!!!!! Erotica/BDSM just right up my alley.

Unfortunately, it was not what I was expecting. I swear I wanted to love this book. Lord knows I really wanted too and it kills me to write this review. The book had pontential but it fell short for me. I went in with the mind set that it was a erotica/BDSM, but it was not (it did have a few sexy scenes). So imagen my devastation. If it was not for my reading buddy Stephanie I would have given up at 40%.

The two main characters, Richard and Mia were one dimensional and had no personality; I lost interest. The only character that I found exciting was Cameron (Richard's BFF and phycharitist). Cameron is the phycharitist and owner of the BDSM Club Enthrall and another exclusive club (that's another mystery of its own). Who knows how to manipulate everyone. Including Richard and Mia. Anything that Richard and Mia did had to be approved or guided by Cameron. Also, Richard and Cameron were so close that it seem as if they were past lovers or maybe current lovers on the down low ( I was very confuse about there friendship).

There were so many unanswered questions and the end was rushed. One minute Richard and Mia don't know each other or spent enough time together. The next they are saying I love you. WTH... Don't get me wrong. I dont mind a rush love affair. But I need some meat and potatoes with that. Don't give me bones.

I feel that the author missed an opportunity to make The BDSM Club Enthrall more enticing, mysterious, forbidden, and sexually charge. There was so much that she could have done with the place and the main characters.

Gosh, slap me upside the head, am so confused after finishing this novel...let me attempt to summarize. (*This is not really erotica, very few sex scenes, although BDSM is an element of story.)

Initially plot unfolding was easy to follow: naïve innocent 21 YO female virgin desperate for financial security shouldering medical burden of taking care of her ailing stepmom (in addition to a tragic childhood). Opportunity at BDSM club/clinic(?) opens up that provides financial security, girl gets job and meets 2 Doms and 2 female Doms (supporting cast). Ok, so still following at this pt...minor spoilers ahead...

Next, Doms think Mia is too innocent and too much of a temptation to themselves and clients, so they fire her. She attempts to win back her job by suddenly going against her shy character and (lets be vague to not spoil) 'lowers her inhibitions' in the office and wala! - gets back said job.

Now starts this weird threesome love triangle, but with Richard mainly the love interest who is best friends with the other guy Cameron. They have this really bizarre almost bisexual relationship, which actually is described as such in the book but never becomes clearer.

"My mind wandered with thoughts of what kind of things they got up to together down in that dungeon without it being considered same-play"

Richard and Mia quickly fall in love, but still scratching my head how that happened cause they had very few interactions. And for her coming from an abusive past, generally takes a bit longer for those emotional barriers to come down. Up to 75% of the novel they don't communicate and then suddenly they are chatty Cathy's. And her first BDSM experience is the whole nine yards, one would think they would ease into it. Richard is one of the most mercurial characters I have ever read bout (at one pt he is in bottom of pool with oxygen tank thinking)another he "shrugs his shoulders" after suddenly breaking up an intimate moment.

Finally there is this weird daddy issue that comes into play that is reintroduced at last 2% of novel and never really given closure.

So here I am, feeling like this book was a huge mindf~ck and I have no idea what I missed to lack understanding of the premise of this novel. Was it just me? Even if it is a series (unknown at this pt) - not sure next novel could eradicate bumpiness of beginning novel.

Wooowza! I went into this read expecting the typical “naive virgin falls for billionaire” trope but what I got was SO MUCH MORE. The writing was beautiful and the story was endearing and risqué. All of the characters find a place in your heart even when Fewings is making you question their intentions.
It had some nice twists, good angst, and spank-me-hot scenes. Definitely a must read for those that enjoy the BDSM genre; even for those toeing into this genre.

So, when an opportunity came knocking at her door, a chance to be interviewed by the Mistresses of Enthall, a top BDSM Club, for a secretarial job, she wasted no time and go for it. She’s a determined young lady and eventually got the position. Mia gets along with everybody and follows every do’s and don’t’s of the club. But when her Dominant boss Richard felt that Mia is so innocent & naïve about the BDSM lifestyle he decided to fire her. But with the intervention of another sexy dominant Cameron, the club psychiatrist, he decided to help Mia get her job back and make Richard see what she’s willing to give in order for him to give her another chance at Enthrall. Wanting to know more about the “lifestyle” Mia is often caught in a compromising situation due to the doing of Cameron to the dismay of Richard.

This book is so unpredictable in the sense that you want to know what will happen next, it will hooked you from start to finish. And I cannot wait to read more about how the story will go between Richard, Cameron & Mia!

5+++ panty dropping stars *****spoiler free with the exception of quotes******

I have a new favorite author to add to my list of favorites. Vanessa Mistress Fewings. This woman knows how to write broody, mysterious, sexy, dark male leads and she makes it seem so effortless. Those of us who read two, three or more books a week, know how difficult it is to find an author who can write characters with such depth.

This is the third book I've read from this author so it came to no surprise that the writing was mature as were the characters. I was also pleasantly surprised by the story. I expected something cliché.
Um.......No.
Considering all the BDSM books out there, this was completely original and the exceptional writing made it even more so.



I'll start with the heroine. Mia...

  
    "Mia, they're sex balls," said Penny.
My jaw dropped. "You mean you put them in your....?"
 "Yes," said Scarlet.
I placed the box on the table. "It's bad enough having to put a tampon up there let alone something like this."
Silence reined and I read nothing but surprise on their faces.
 "Ok then," said Richard and he headed out with his coffee.
I waited for him to leave. "Monsieur Trourville asked me to put this in each time he visited. I thought they were earrings."
  

To mistaken Mia's naïveté for weakness would be a mistake. There was nothing weak or annoying about her character, in fact, I found her to be quit endearing.
I loved reading this story from her POV.

Richard and Cameron. Good Lord, I was completely lost in book heaven with these two. Their characters were AFUCKINGMAZING!! I can't say enough about their character development, except that there's no way they are fictional. Nope. No way.
Vanessa Mistress Fewings, when you are through with Cameron please send him my way.

The interaction between these two best friends was fantastic.

There are plenty of other characters in this book who were also engaging. The dominatrix and the heroines best friend were wonderful secondary characters and did not dominate this book. They were perfectly blended in.

For those who love triangles, you'll get a small smidgen of it. Not much really.
For those who hate triangles, no worries. There's no back and forth drama.

What you'll get is a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat turning pages because you can't put it down. It's dripping with sexual tension and a couple of seriously hot men. It also has a very captivating story line. I was sucked in and I didn't want the story to ever end.

The ending had a nice twist However, I wish it had something to do with Mia and Richard instead of the father. It was a good shocker though.

Regardless of that, this book took a permanent vacation to my favorites shelf as it's (IMO) the best book I've read in this type of genre since 50.




I will be patiently impatiently waiting for the next book.

Read this people! You won't be disappointed.

This book… wow


I chose it as the author was featured in Shh which is a group I am active in on goodreads and I thought nothing of it for awhile. I somehow got lucky and didn’t noticed I picked this book up as a freebie. I bought the rest of the series while at 70% in this book.
Now did I buy the book because it was written perfectly? Did it get 5 starts because it was the best thing ever.. no I did it because the story is smoothly written and I am entranced and also confused by it. The story is about Mia and Richard but it is also about Richard and Cameron and its also about Mia and Cameron. It is all confusing and I really want it to be a MMF story so badly.
Mia is poor and desperate for work to pay for medical bills for her mother. Dr. Cole is an enigma who is dripping in wealth and eroticism. Richard is a lost Dom who has given up on love.. and the three are catapulted into a story about love, lust, sex and BDSM. BDSM is presented very well in the story as a wholly consensual story.
Enthrall is more than a dungeon.. it appears it is effective and expensive therapy. I need more Enthrall in my life.

This almost had a 50 Shades of Grey feel to it. The virgin meeting an "experienced" man that had a different taste of pleasure. I kinda wished she wasn't a virgin. Just so the story wouldn't take on so many similar aspects to 50.

Enthrall is a private night club that services to wealthy clients that have a different kind of taste for pleasure.

Mia came off naive, inexperienced, and sheltered. She didn't seem like the kind of woman that would fit in at a private club like Enthrall. She was more like the innocent girl next door that likes "vanilla". Her knowledge on BDSM was little to none.

Richard is an interesting man. I had mixed feelings for him at first. I couldn't tell if I liked him or not. He was guarded, closed off.

I found Cameron intriguing. I felt his dominance early on. I wasn't sure which one was more alpha, Richard or Cameron. Both men were handsome and exuded confidence. I think the mystery of why Mia was warned to keep her distance made him so much more interesting to me. (I know, I'm just asking for trouble)

I did feel like it lacked depth. The journey for Richard and Mia felt a bit lack lustrous. You knew they liked each other and had a connection but I wished their interest for each other was given more attention.

I liked that Scarlett and Lotte were more on the kind, helpful, sisterly love kind of characters and not judgmental and untrustworthy. They welcomed Mia and helped her.

I was expecting that outcome at the end. Now on to the next installment.

Mia is a 21 year old and is has been working two jobs to try and live. She has a lot of medical bills that have stacked due to her step-mothers sickness and Mia is the one that is paying the bills. Mia's mother is dead and her father is also believed to be dead. The only family she has left is her step-mother. She can barely manage to feed herself, living off Ramen noodles most of the time and she lives in a run down studio apartment with old used stained up furniture and an old rickety fridge that would wake her up each night as it tried to spit out ice cubes from a freezer long broken.

Mia was given an opportunity to interview for Enthrall, one of L.A.'s most exclusive BDSM club. They were hiring a new secretary and it had a fantastic salary, but she was afraid that interview did not go well. She had no experience in the type of atmosphere that she would be around if hired for the position. She knew that she didn't have experience in working with the darker side of sex, let alone experience in general. Leaving the interview, she was very discouraged and was sure that she had blown the interview. About a week later, she received a phone call that would change everything for her. Financially, and personally.

Mia got the job working at Enthrall working as the secretary to the clubs assistant director Richard Booth. Richard also served at the senior dominant for the club. Her first meeting with Richard did not go well at all. Mia thanked Richard for the opportunity to work for him to which Richard returned "I didn't hire you. The director did." Richard explained what he expected of Mia, but he was very short when he did so. After a week, Mia thought that she had the hand of working at Enthrall and tried to stay out of Richard's way, but became friends with Mistress Lotte, Miss Scarlet and Lady Penny. They all encouraged her and shared their wisdom and life lessons that they had learned about work, love and shopping. They encourage her to experience things that she has never experienced before.

Mia learned quickly that Richard was a difficult man. There were times that Richard seemed to be attracted to Mia and other times he was rude and distant with her. Mia found herself starting to fantasize about him and wanting to be with him.

During her second week at Enthrall, Mia meets Cameron. Mia find out at a later time that Cameron is the Director of Enthrall. Cameron is also someone who finds himself attracted to Mia. We find out that Cameron is Richard's Psychiatrist and also his best friend. Cameron helped Richard out from a situation many years ago and has been there for him ever since

During Cameron's visit to Enthrall, Mia overhears Richard telling Cameron that he wants Mia gone. That she is no experience and ends up firing Mia. Mia does get her job back, but she does so in an interesting way, which I will not elaborate on.

Mia has such an air off innocence about her and both men were drawn to that. Cameron is aware that Richard is attracted to Mia and uses manipulated both Mia and Richard in some interesting ways to get them together. There were times that it seemed that Cameron wanted Mia for himself also and fought the temptation no matter how hard it was. You will find out Cameron's reasoning behind hiring Mia, which I though was quite interesting.

In the beginning there were a lot of things that Mia was forbidden from seeing. Places in the workplace that she was forbidden to go, which made her all the more curious. She finds herself being sexually attracted to the possibility of getting involved in some of the BDSM lifestyle and hopes that Richard will be the one to teach her.

In the book, you will find out about Richard's difficult past and why he is the way he is now. You will also find out more about Mia and why she has insecurity issues.

There are some interesting twists in the story. I wondered about Richard's and Cameron's relationship and if it was just a friendship or more than that. It had me wondering at time the relationship between Richard, Mia and Cameron. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next book and if anything will become of the three of them.

You will find innocence, friendship, passion, pain, darkness, love and some heartache. It had some passionate love/sex scenes that were tastefully done for this type of book. I didn't feel that there was a lot of BDSM in the story, but there was some. I thought it was a love story that showed growth in life and love.

I thought that the book was pretty well written and had a love story side to it. It showed how a person can grow and change in a positive way with just the right person. I would recommend this book and am looking forward to reading "Enthrall Her" (Enthrall Session, #2).

Richard rested his hand on the gift. "Hope you don't mind. I thought it best to return this."

"It has nothing to do with what your role is." He sat back. "I'll explain it to Monsieur Trourville." Richard thinned his lips in a thank you that'll be all kind of way.
"Mistress Lotte kept her gift from him."
"She's his Domina." He took a sip of coffee. "Anyway, different kind of gift." He shooed me out. "Thank you, Mia."
"Can I see what it is?"
He leaned back and caressed his forehead. "Later."
Unwilling to give it up so easily, I stood my ground.
"Something tells me you won't like it," he said.
"You know what it is?"
"I can guess."
He threw his hands up in defeat.
Suppressing my excitement, I reached for the box.
"Come on. Let's open it in the coffee room." He rose and led the way. "It's best we do this with women present."
Was that an indication this really was a diamond?
Mistress Scarlet smiled at us when we entered. Her gaze fell on the gift.
Lady Penny raised the coffee pot. "Want a top up?"
"Sure," said Richard, offering his half empty mug to be filled.
Penny poured coffee into it. "Want one, Mia?"
"No thank you." I tore off the wrapping. The black box within had two hinges and I eased them open. Inside were two delicate silver balls attached with a thin thread.
"Who gave you that?" said Penny, glaring at Richard.
"As if." He rolled his eyes. "Monsieur Trourville."
"What is it? I tried to hide my disappointment.
Richard took a sip. "What do you think it is?"
I twisted my mouth thoughtfully. "Paperweight?"
He coughed and suppressed a grin. Penny and Scarlet shared a wary glance with each other.
"You sure you don't know?" said Penny.
I blushed wildly, wondering if it represented some part of the male anatomy.
"this is so not going on my desk."
Richard offered a sympathetic gesture. "I did try to save you from this."
"They're Venus balls," said Scarlet.
I frowned down at the box."Mia, they're sex balls," said Penny.
My jaw dropped. "You mean you put it in your...?"
"Yes," said Scarlet.
I placed the box on the table. It's bad enough having to put a tampon up there let alone something like this."

This is a story of Mia Lauren, she's 21 and dreams of becoming a fashion designer someday. Through her friends girlfriend (who used to work there), she is set up with the opportunity to interview at Enthrall, a fetish club for extremely wealthy people. Mia leaves the interview not at all confident about the outcome. She wants the job so badly because of it's extremely high pay and she has her step-mother's medical bills to pay. Her step-mother is all she has left of family. Her mother had died before and her father is believed to be dead as well.

Mia is surprised and thrilled when she gets offered the job to work for Enthrall. She becomes the secretary to the club's assistant director and club's senior dominant, Richard Booth.

Mia is immediately attracted to Richard and fantasizes about what it would be like to be with Richard and have him take her to the dungeon that has been ruled strictly off limits to her.

Richard is a very difficult man. He had something that happened years before and since then he has closed himself off. He won't admit his attraction to Mia. The incident that had occurred was so horrific for him that he doesn't want that to happen again, he doesn't want the pain of going through that again, but although he denies it for awhile, he is attracted to Mia's innocence. Thinking he is protecting himself and her from this attraction that he sees as something that cannot happen, he tries to fire Mia and when she come crawling back wanting her job back and he's shocked at the extremes she will go to to earn it back, and ends up letting her have her job back, with some encouragement from Cameron.

Little does Richard or Mia know that Cameron, who is the club's psychiatrist and the director as well, is setting up situations for Mia and Richard to get thrown together. He is convinced that she is the one that can get Richard to finally open up and accept and move on from his past. What Cameron didn't expect was the growing attraction he feels for Mia himself!

Mia quickly forms friendships with the women that work there named Lotte, Penny and Scarlett. Considering how almost rude and standoffish they were when they were interviewing her, I was surprised they seemed to take her in and accept her so quickly.

There is so much to this book and I don't want to give away any more than I already have. This book has a few points that will leave you wondering what just happened or why something happened, because while Richard is eventually working to accept Mia as a love interest, he does some pretty odd things at times. This book has a BDSM aspect to it, but there isn't a lot of it. There was the dungeon which was introduced as well as spanking with paddles and bondage and a couple other things, but there wasn't as much BDSM in the book as I thought there would be. I had thought there would be more BDSM in this book, but it didn't happen as much as I'd anticipated it happening. This book also has a few moments that keep you guessing what will happen next, one of those moments had to do with Mia's "dead" father. You also learn a bit more of Richard's history in this book, you learn of his family history and his history with the one woman that shut Richard off from ever wanting to love again, and so much more. I was a bit confused at times throughout the book about Richard and Cameron's relationship. I know they are close and Cameron has been there for Richard through tough times, but there were times I wondered if there wasn't more to the story than what was actually being told. The very end of this book had me really questioning the relationship between Richard, Mia and Cameron and I'm kind of curious as to where it will lead from this point forward. I am hoping the next book will answer any lingering questions I have.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a book with some BDSM, and a love story that will keep you guessing and questioning things until the very end (and even questioning what will happen in the next book).

I definitely am looking forward to reading the next book in this series when it comes out in 2014 to see where the story goes from where it left off!

I loved this story! I devoured it in about 48 hours.

It opens with our heroine, Mia, at a job interview for a secretarial position at a BDSM club called Enthrall. She bombs the interview but soon learns she actually go the job and her adventure begins. Mia’s 21 years old and a virgin, completely naïve to anything BDSM (she wanted the job for its awesome salary, to help pay off her stepmother’s medical bills). This can be annoying if you have read a lot of books in this genre and don’t feel like watching another naïve doe witness kinky sexual activity with bug-eyed shock but fortunately, Mia’s not like that. In fact when she’s fired from her job within the first few days she does something extreme to try to get it back. She learns quickly that she enjoys having her boundaries pushed and is up for many things she’s never experienced or even heard of. She may start off her journey as a virgin but her naivety is quickly replaced with a growing sense of sexual adventure.

The biggest reason I liked this book so much were the male leads- we have not one, but two captivating, interesting men who enhance the story tremendously. Readers of this genre know that the male characters are usually only there to say something cheeky or smartass to try to get the female character to jump into bed with them. In Enthrall, both men Richard and Cameron are fully developed with backstories and with dialogue to back it up. Additionally, Cameron is a psychiatrist and one of my favorite parts of the books is where he psychoanalyzes Mia to the point where he unlocks her secret childhood pain and helps her see herself in a new light. This was written so believably that I wonder what research Ms. Fewings did in the psychiatry field to make this scene so authentic***. You won’t find any two-dimensional men as the main characters here and that is what made me love this book so much and be able to immerse myself in it.
***Edit - just read that Vanessa Ewings has a master degree in psychology so that explains it!

I also loved the author’s writing style as everything seemed to flow seamlessly and it was effortless for me to get through page after page. It was the perfect combination of BDSM/erotica, drama, romance, coming of age (in a sense) and mystery (as we don’t know everyone’s secrets at first). It had much more depth than I anticipated.

Richard and Mia are quickly set up as the soon-to-be-couple which is a good match, but I also enjoyed the way that chemistry developed between Cameron and Mia even as Cameron encouraged her relationship with his best friend Richard. I have a sense that there is much more there to be explored and based on the summary of the second book, Enthrall Her, (which I cannot WAIT to read!!) this will soon be addressed.

Can’t wait to continue the series.

I think I have had my fill of these books and they are no longer appealing nor do they give anything different.

I certainly wasn’t’ Enthralled’ with this book or characters.

I only got to 19% and wrapped it up as the story to that point was simply unreal.

Mia Lauren, single, 21 wants to be a fashion designer. She applies for a position in Entrhall a prime fetish club for the wealthy. After a weird interview she is successful and starts the position as secretary to Richard Booth, beautiful and wealthy and Director of Enthrall.

So I lost patience with Mia.
She went from a blushing 21, who got sacked from the job because "she wasn't qualified". She decides to try another tactic to convince Richard that she "belongs" in Enthrall and goes all out to prove it.

To catch his attention she lifts her skirt to her waist, revealing black stocking and no panties.
Such an eye rolling experience.
I couldn't accept that this virginal girl went from eyes down to legs open in such a short space of time.

Did I stop too soon? Maybe but as I disconnected so early on in the storyline I don't think I want to invest any further time with this book or this series.
You know the rabbit hole Mia is going down.

this was the most bi-polar. weird, confusing thing I have ever read. the story line has such potential but it jumps around like a deprived crack addict. I stuck it out tip 65% and just couldn't wrap my head around it any longer. DNF.

This type of trope is a guilty pleasure of mine, and started with great promise. I won’t attempt to expand on any more than the blurb, but somewhere along the line, it took another turn.

I’m undecided as to whether I truly enjoyed that extra padding, or whether its all part of the bigger picture.

I know the BDSM element was purely cursory IMO, but then about right for the development of Mia’s character, given her innocence.

I’m hoping that it will all become apparent when I read on..

I finally gave up @ 70%. For a BDSM story it was lacking. The characters were extremely boring. The two men had zero personalities and all they did was manipulate and play games with the poor naive Mia.

This book must have been all the rage back in 2013. It has the requisite gorgeous guys, BDSM, the virginal sacrifice heroine and of course, the love at first sight trope à la FSOG.
