In an old building next to Tara's Ice Cream Parlor a stray dog finds a hand bone that leads to the discovery of a 40-year-old corpse and a mystery. It is just before Halloween and after renting the spooky old building they have a Halloween Party and just before the party they solve the mystery of who killed Mr. Ewing 40-years ago. Tara also had her date with Brandon and it ended on a positive note.

Ice Cream You Scream is a nice short story with a beginning, middle and ending that solves a mystery. The dialogue between characters and the new dog was cute to add to the plot too.

October means the annual Halloween party at Paige and Bruce's house.
Flirtations have increased between Tara and Brandon. She wants to ask him out but he surprises her by asking her to wear half of his chosen couples Halloween costume to the party. Bruce is tired of business taking him away from his family. He decides to open his own business next to The frozen Scoop.
While checking out the location, a building that has been vacant for many years, the group discovers more than a sweet, smart little dog.
This allows Stormi another opportunity to spend time with Officer Greg.
This very cold case reheats quickly.

Not the best story in the series but a nice bridge to the next book.

Cute but a little flat

This book was number 3 in the Caesars Creek Mystery Series. It was the first one that I had read so I was somewhat at a loss as to how the characters were related. The book was only 52 pages long which makes it more of a novella than a book in my estimation or maybe just an over long short story.

Neither the characters or the sense of place were sufficiently fleshed out for my tastes. There was a good storyline but it all came together too quickly.

Too short but way fun

I loved this book, although it's another very short story. The mystery wasn't your typical murder mystery so that was fun. We did get to see Trixie, but we got no new information about one of the secrets that she revealed in the last book, darn. I love the way the romance is evolving for Tara. More to come in the next book and I own it already, so on to more of Constance Barker's cozy mystery entrainment.

This book was cute, but it felt rushed. Also, I know I picked up book 4 without reading 1-3, but I didn't know who anyone was. It was until the last 1/3 of the book that I learned that the main character was named Tara.

Very light hearted bubble gum level cozy mystery that is surprisingly entertaining. Very short and not deep plots but the series grows on you. It grew on me enough that I got the remainder of the series.

Good read for a short book.

This is more of a short story than book, but good. Enjoyable fast read with a Halloween party as well.
