I didn’t think I was a romantic fantasy fan until I read this book. I genuinely couldn’t put this book down once I finally found the time to read it. I finished the last half in one day because I needed to know what was going to happen.

One of my favorite parts was the characters. The descriptions were so vivid, and I felt like I really got the chance to know them and become invested in their stories. I loved watching Soleil’s journey as she learns more about herself and her power, and the whole concept of the Bleeders and the kingdom was incredibly creative.

I also really enjoyed the romance woven throughout the story. It gave me someone to root for without ever taking away from the larger story, and I especially appreciated that it was romantic without needing to be explicit or vulgar. The main characters had a sense of integrity and moral character that made them even easier to love. There were moments when I was completely on the edge of my seat, moments when I was rooting hard for certain characters, and plenty of times when I told myself I’d read “just one more chapter” and then kept going. I won’t say anything else because I don’t want to spoil it, but it was absolutely worth the buildup.

Overall, this was such a creative and engaging story with characters I genuinely came to care about. For a book outside of my usual genre, it completely pulled me in, and I’m so glad I gave it a chance!

Enjoyable Read

This was an enjoyable read with a unique elemental magic system, banter and camaraderie that had me literally laughing out load, beautifully written descriptions that planted me directly in each scene, and a feisty FMC on an inspirational journey to find herself, her heart, and her strength.
